The purpose of this study is to explore the potential of peer coaching for EFL teachers' professional development. For this study, 12 college teachers in Korea participated in a 10-week program. They were 7 males and 5 females, ranging in age from 24 to 37 years. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. Reflective analysis was used to analyze individual interview data. From the findings, two significant categories of peer coaching were identified: positive and negative responses to peer coaching experience. However, the overriding themes that emerged from the data were the benefits of peer coaching. The participants were almost unanimous in their acknowledgement of the advantages of peer coaching, such as reflective support through other's eyes, improved working environments, greater teaching strategies, higher professional self-esteem, and awareness of self-directed learning. Negative responses also appeared, mostly in regard to the working principles of implementation; the major issues of difficulties were time management, complexities of implementation procedure, stress and personal vulnerability, and relative lack of reflection and feedback skills. Demonstrating the participants' experiences towards the peer coaching program, this study provides EFL teachers with useful insights into peer coaching as an effective tool of their professional development.

Purposes of this study were to explore the process of experience that science teachers go through when participating in peer coaching meetings to improve teaching ability and to find out factors that affect each process of experience. The data were collected through recording of peer coaching meetings, videotapes of science class, and interviews. All the data were analyzed after transcription. The results of the study showed that even though Teacher K broke the ice and formed consensus among the peers by developing Content Representation (CoRe) at the beginning of the meetings, he became self-defensive rather than receptive of peers' opinions on the recorded class at the discussion session. But as the peer coaching went on, he realized that peer coaching was not about evaluation but rather on improving his teaching ability. In turn, he was able to look at his teaching in a more objective point of view and accepted suggestions from peer coaching discussion. The self-reflection of Teacher K acted as the key factor in the efforts to improve his teaching ability. He sought the concrete alternatives through the class analysis with fellow teachers and showed major changes in his teaching practice from the language habits, pronunciation, and speed of his speech to the interaction with students and class design. However, there was little change in knowledge of curriculum and assessment due to his strong orientation to improve students' grades as an academic high school teacher. Likewise, it was found that while peer coaching exert a strong influence on instructional methods and strategies of Teacher K, his strong orientation to improve students' grades hinders a balanced development of subcomponents of PCK.

This study explored faculty professional learning community in A university. Employing a case study method, the present research conducted a survey and semi-structured interview on FLC. The FLC were designed to enhance the teaching ability by reciprocal peer coaching and developing Teaching Tips, during the semester with 5~6 faculty members of each FLC. They reported personal CQI and community paper and presented their learning process and outcomes. The present study shows that observation of their own and peer's lecture was meaningful experience led to reflective practice. Morever, peer coaches provided useful advice and good insight of education based on their practice, though the service was not professional enough. Based on the results, how to effectively foster peer coaching in FLC was discussed.

Until now, face to face coaching has been applied almost for completing the goal in various field. Face to face coaching is difficult always to reach each other anywhere, anytime due to the availability of internet and mobile devices. Recently, e-coaching is attempted to expend. But current e-coaching is supporting the secondary role for face to face coaching. E-coaching system has many benefits to use advancement technologies in internet. Therefore, the development of e-coaching system based on horizontal relationships between coach and coachee needs to communication anytime and anywhere in Internet. Usually previous online coaching systems have four types of interactions i.e. electronic mail, video chat, text chat, phone call. Most of the e-coaching approaches are easy to access and provide communication synchronous; video chat is an excellent visibility, whereas e-mail is asynchronous and document-centric. In this paper, we design and implement the integration e-coaching system based on synchronous and asynchronous. This system provides the asynchronous coaching offered by way of e-mail, and the synchronous coaching used P2P (Peer to Peer) video chat and text group chat. This system allows simultaneously asynchronous and synchronous coaching, and supports individual and group communication for periodical or informal coaching.
Purpose of this study was to improve the emotional intelligence of high school students in adolescence, to solve the difficulties of relationships, to solve the maladjustment problems, and to provide practical data that can be used to prevent their deviant behaviors by identifying the effect of peer emotional coaching program on emotional intelligence in high school students. This study consisted of the experimental group of 14 students and the control group of 14 students from 28 students who voluntarily wanted to participate in the peer emotional coaching program from April 17 to May 29, 2017 in S high school located in G city. The peer emotional coaching program was applied for the experimental group over 12 sessions, and the pre and post test of both groups were performed simultaneously. A corresponding sample T test was performed for the collected data that were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 for Windows. As a result, the emotional awareness of the experimental group was found to have a significant effect on the peer emotional coaching program, but the empathy and the emotion regulation did not show any significant effect. It was found that the peer emotional coaching program was a medium that could affect the emotional awareness of high school students. With the results of this study, we suggested a way to improve the emotional awareness for high school students.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the effect of an emotion coaching program using animation(the program) on infant peer competence and communication with teachers in charge (teachers). To this end, 30 infants aged 5 years residing in the Seoul area were selected to form 15 experimental groups and 15 control groups. An emotional coaching program using animation for 15 children aged 5 years in the experimental group was conducted 7 times a week for 50 minutes each. The main contents of the program were organized to name the emotions of children aged 5 years old through various emotion scenes, to recognize my emotions and to empathize with the emotions of others. To verify the effectiveness of the program, peer competence and communication with the classroom teacher (social competency test) were conducted before, after, and after (4 weeks after the end of coaching). As a result, both peer competence and communication with the classroom teacher were significant. And the program continuity was verified. Finally, the implications and limitations of the study through the results of this study, and suggestions for future research were discussed.
The study examined the pathways from maternal reactions to children's negative emotions to children's peer relations through children's empathy and emotional regulation. The participants in this study comprised 463 elementary school 4th-6th graders. They completed questionnaires on maternal reactions to children's negative emotions, levels of children's empathy, maladaptive emotion regulation types and skill levels of children's peer relations. Data were analyzed by means of structural equation modeling. It was found that in the case of maternal emotion coaching reactions, when done indirectly, as well as directly, had an influence on their levels of peer relations. On the other hand, in the case of over-sensitive maternal reactions, when done indirectly, but not directly, had an influence on their levels of peer relations. Therefore, these results indicate that children's empathy mediated the effects of maternal emotion coaching and over-sensitive reactions on peer relations. It also found that there are distinct pathways from maternal reaction types to children's negative emotions to peer relations through empathy and maladaptive emotion regulation types.
This study investigated the impact of a safety coaching program on the safety behavior and safety climate among expressway safety patrols. Four to seven patrols from each of the three branches participated in this study. The safety coaching program was developed based on the GROW model, with main contents including recognizing individual differences, exploring safety values, communicating near-misses, providing effective and efficient feedback, employing non-violent communication, and fostering commitment toward safety behaviors. Additionally, each session included self-monitoring and peer review of each item based on a critical behavior checklist developed for this study, with challenging goals set based on the monitoring and review. The safety coaching program comprised six sessions in three branches, while three other branches were assigned as a control group. A non-equivalent control group experimental design was applied. Dependent variables included observed and perceived safety behavior, safety climate, psychological safety, and feedback. The results indicated that the safety coaching program effectively increased patrols' safety behavior and safety climate. Furthermore, psychological safety and feedback improved. These findings suggest that the developed safety coaching program could serve as an alternative method to enhance safety management for expressway safety patrols. Finally, the implications, limitations, and directions for future research are discussed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate what middle school Home Economics(HE) teachers perceive, practice and need for self-supervision at school related to HE. Questionnaires were sent by E-mail and 150 were collected. Descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA analysis were reported using SPSS/win 10.1. The results of this research were as follows: First, middle school HE teachers perceived that self-supervision at school was essential since it promoted self reflection of teachers themselves and improved professional skills. Furthermore, peer-coaching was highly preferred. Second, negative responses to the supervision of principal, vice-principal, and peer teachers overwhelmed positive answers. Information exchange among peer teachers was frequent, yet, approximately 22.6% of middle school HE teachers were still avoiding sharing information process for several reasons. About half of the teachers answered that all teachers needed to participate in this process. Third, they pointed out that self-supervision at school was not implemented well because of the lack of time due to the heavy work load, negative and passive attitude for the improvement of teaching-learning activities, administration-centered supervision that did not reflect teachers' opinion, and shortage of economical, and environmental support.. HE teachers perceived that peer teachers who were doing good practices were most helpful for the supervision. Also, they preferred self-evaluation at the end of the self-supervision at school. Forth, to improve self-supervision at school, there were very high demands for reduction of administrative work, additional time, fundamental philosophy toward HE education. Fifth, the purpose and detailed plans of self-supervision were recognized as the results that were democratically derived by the HE teachers. Sixth, class inspection and informal inspection were operated once in a year, and self-training was rarely operated. Peer coaching and self-coaching were operated occasionally. Self-coaching and peer coaching were reported as the most helpful types of supervision. In addition, HE teachers answered that supervision was helpful to teaching method followed by contents, evaluation, and philosophy of education.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the latest evidence for interventions involving adolescent newlyweds, and the feasibility of premarital coaching (PMC). Methods: A narrative literature review design carried out through related studies was used for the present literature review. A diverse search from several databases was performed to create a critical appraisal and to develop a more integrated model for the PMC program. Studies that empirical, written in English, peer-reviewed, and published during 2008~2017 were included. Results: Six articles were selected for the review. The principal findings identified three major themes including underage period as a high-risk for marriage, development tasks of the newly married spouse, parenting self-efficacy and the psycho-educational approach of PMC to enhance parenting knowledge, skills, and readiness. Conclusion: It was found that content of PMC as the preparation of underage married couples were formulated based on coaching technic, various spouse and parenting educations, and adjusted based on couples's preferences. Rigorous studies with measurement of long-term retentions are needed.
