Relationship between Infrared Peak Maximum Position and Molecular Interactions

  • We explored the interpretation of the well-accepted correlation between the apparent peak maximum position shift and extent of molecular interactions, like hydrogen bonding and dipole-dipole interactions, based on the overlapped multiple band model. The simulation of two overlapped Lorentzian bands was carried out to interpret how the maximum position of a composite peak relates to the relative contributions of two species representing the different levels of molecular interactions, i.e., free (or very weekly bound) vs. strongly bound. To demonstrate the validity of our interpretation of the origin of the peak position shift, the temperaturedependent IR spectra of ethylene glycol were also analyzed. It was found through the analysis of simulated and experimental spectra that the apparent peak shift in certain case can be safely interpreted as the measure of the strength of hydrogen bonding. The result of this study gives a new insight to interpret molecular interactions probed by vibrational spectroscopy.

LiYSiO4: La 열형광체의 온도에 따른 열발광 특성 (Thermoluminescent Properties by the Cooling Temperature and Grain Size in the LiYSiO4 : La Phosphors)

  • The thermoluminescent phosphors of LiYSi$O_4$ containing rare earth metal(La) dopants of 1 wt.%5 wt.% were prepared, and their TL characteristics have been investigated as a function of parameters such as the doping level and the heating rate. The grain size and cooling temperature of the highly sensitive LiYSi$O_4$: La phosphors have been investigated. The glow curve of LiYSi$O_4$: La has two peaks ($P_1,\;P_2$), and the peak height ratio of the two peaks is called $P_2/P_1$; here, the main peak is $P_2$. Experimental results indicate that the peak height ratios of the glow curve for LiYSi$O_4$: La are clearly correlated with the grain size and cooling temperature. The maximum $P_2/P_1$ ratio 3.25, the maximum sensitivity was observed for a grain size between 100-150 ${\mu}m$. The intensity of the TL peak of the phosphors was linearly proportion to the dose of X-rays.

고구마전분의 산처리 특성과 산분해 잔사의 구조적 특성 (Physicochemical and structural properties of lintnerized starches from sweet Potato)

  • 분질 고구마인 수원 147과 점질인 황미로부터 전분을 분리하고 산가수분해 특성 및 X-ray 회절도를 통해 내부결합력 및 결정강도를 비교하였으며 겔크로마토그래피를 통해 산분해 잔사의 구조적 특성을 조사하였다. 수원 147이 황미보다 산가수분해에 강한 저항성을 보였으며 생전분의 결정화도와 산처리에 따른 전분들의 상대적 결정화도의 증가는 수원 147이 더 크게 나타났다. 산처리에 의하여 ${\beta}$-Amylolysis limit(%)는 점차 증가하였으며 겔크로마토그래피로 용출되는 분자크기가 크게 감소했다. 산분해 잔사는 중합도(DP) 25와 DP 15 부근의 2개의 peak로 분획되었다. Debranching 한 후의 분획은 DP 15부근의 단일 peak로 나타났고 peak의 DP에서 분질과 점질간 차이가 나타났다.

미국 서북부 Cheeka Peak에서의 수송에 따른 봄철 CO와 O3의 특성 (Characteristics of Springtime CO and O3 according to Transport at Cheeka Peak Observatory(CPO), Northwest of USA)

  • Cheeka Peak is a unique site for monitoring the background chemistry and aerosol contents of pristine marine air at mid-latitude. During long-range onshore winds that occur frequently throughout the year, it is predicted to have the cleanest air in the northern hemisphere. Measurements of CO and O$_3$were conducted at Cheeka Peak Observatory(CPO) on the northwestern tip of Washington state, USA during March 6 ∼May 29, 2001. The data have been segregated to quantify the mixing ratio of these species in the Pacific marine atmosphere. Also the marine air masses were further classified into four categories based on 10-day backward isentropic trajectories; high, mid, and low latitude and those which had crossed over the Asian industrial region. The diurnal variation of CO and O$_3$at CPO showed a similar to tendency of background measurement site. When marine air mass flowed to CPO, CO concentration was lower and O$_3$was similar or higher than those of total data. The westerly flow from ocean, not easterly from continent occurred the high concentration of CO and O$_3$at CPO. Using the trajectory segregation of marine air mass, the comparison of concentration according to latitude calculated. the CO concentration of Asian trajectory was lower than other latitudes, O$_3$concentration was higher.

Characteristics on the Physical Growth of Children and Youth in Modern Korea

  • This study was performed to formulate the most recent traits of physical growth of youth, and to identify the need of youth for health promotion planning in modern Korea. Study participants were 171 boys and 400 girls in two senior high schools in Seoul, Korea. Health records were collected from the individual students in May 2005. Longitudinal data on stature and body weight from 6 to 16 years old were analysed. Significance tests on some measures were performed by t-test and ANOVA. Major conclusions were as follows: 1. Girls were taller than boys during the specific time of adolescence. However, this phenomenon was not found in the growth process investigated by peak age and in over-all mean growth process of body weight. 2. Peak age came later in boys than in girls in both stature and body weight. This meant that boys matured later in stature and body weight than girls. However, boys were larger in peak velocity than girls. 3. Peak ages distributed more widely in girls than in boys both for stature and body weight. 4. Even in such short growth process from 6 through 16 years old, growth spurt tended to appear in several times. 5. Growth spurt tended to appear more often in boys than in girls.

PMSG처리한 래트에 있어서 혈청 LH의 반응 (Serum Luteinizing Hormone Response in Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin-treated Rats)

  • 미성숙 래트의 외경정맥에 카테타를 장착하고, 다음날 (28일령) 대조군에는 4IU, 다배란 처치 군에는 20IU의 PMSG를 피하주사하였다. 각 실험동물은 혈중의 LH농도 변화를 측정하기 위하여 PMSG 투여 직전 (0시간), 투여후 12시간, 그 이후 6시간 간격으로 혈액을 채취하고 72시간에 희생시켰다. 그 결과 다배란 용량의 PMSG 투여는 먼저 배란반응 및 난소중량을 대조군에 비하여 각각 4,7배 및 2.1배나 현저하게 (P<0.05) 증가시켰다. 그리고 혈청 LH농도는 Radioimmunoassay(RIA)에 의하여 결정되었는데, 먼저 두 군 모두 두 개의 분명한 peak을 가진 경시적 변화관계를 보였다. 즉 이들 두 군네 있어서 LH농도 변화는 0-18시간대에 처음으로 완만한 증가와 54-60시간대에 두번째는 급격한 증가(surge)를 보였다. 그러나 두 군간에 LH농도의 크기는 현저하게 달라, 다배란처치군의 동물에 있어서는 두번째의 LH peak에 앞서 전반적인 LH농도가 대조군보다 현저하게 (P<0.001) 높았으며, 반대로 PMSG 투여후 60시간에 일어나는 peak에 있어서는 LH농도가 대조군보다 현저하게 (P<0.001) 54%나 낮았다. 덧붙여 두 peak간의 증가폭은 대조근에 비하여 다배란 처치군에서 훨씬 낮았다. 본 열구 결과는 PMSG 처치된 래트에 있어서 두 가지의 분명한LH peak의 존재를 정의하며, 다배란 처치에 따른 난소과잉 자극과 내인성 LH surge의 감소와의 연관성을 밝힌다.

테이핑에 따른 발목 근력, 고유수용성감각에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of a Taping on Muscle Strength, and Proprioception in Ankle)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate changes of muscle strength, ROM and proprioceptive function as before & after ankle taping in soccer players. For this study fifteen sports club whose had no ankle injuries were volunteered. Methode : Fifteen healthy male in soccer players participated in this study. Biodex pro system3 was used to measure isokinetic muscle strengths at $60^{\circ}$/sec angular velocity. Performances of ankle joint were measured peak torque, total work, average power, total work. To measure proprioceptive function used goniometer. Results : 1. proprioceptive sensation error were significantly differences by before & after taping(p<.05). 2. Compare of total work of dorsi flexion plantar flexion weren't significantly differences by before & after taping(p>.05). 3. Compare of average power of dorsi flexion weren't significantly differences by before & after taping(p>.05). 4. Compare average power of plantar flexion were significantly differences by before & after taping(p<.05). 5. Compare average peak torque of dorsi flexion weren't significantly differences by before & after taping(p>.05). 6. Compare average peak torque of plantar flexion were significantly differences by before & after taping(p<.05). Conclusion : Taping can have propriocetive aberrative angular measure, power & peak torque of plantar flexion were significantly differences. But, total work of dorsi flexion plantar flexion and power & peak torque of dorsi flexion weren't significantly differences.

실시간 전기요금제에서 마이크로그리드의 운용 방법 (Microgrid operating method in realtime pricing)

  • This paper presents the operation algorithm of microgrid on the Real Time Pricing(RTP) for building the smart grid. RTP is higher power price variability than flat rate and time of use. However it has an effect on peak clipping and peak load shifting due to the increased price on peak time power demand. When the RTP are applied to the microgrid system, the proposed algorithm is able to be effective and economic operation. The implemented system is operated for the economic operation in microgrid connected with the power system. On the other hand, when the microgrid is operated on isolation mode, it focus on the improvement of stability and the power supply reliability of the sensitive loads. The test system are implemented and calculated on various operation modes based on non-dispachable generator output and RTP data for validating the proposed operation algorithm. The calculated results are compared to the implemented results using real-time simulator. It can be confirmed that the proposed operation system are identical results to the calculated one. When the proposed operation algorithm is applied to the system, it can be show the effectiveness of the peak clipping and peak load shifting and the improvement of economic feasibility.

변형 검출을 위한 FBG 센서 인테로게이터 개발과 피크검출 알고리즘 성능 비교 (Development of A FBG Sensor Interrogator for Detecting Strain and Performance Comparison of Peak Detection Algorithms)

  • FBG센서는 구조물의 변형과 온도 측정에 주로 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 FBG센서를 이용하여 균열을 측정하기 위하여 FPGA와 DSP를 이용하여 인테로게이터를 개발 구현하였다. 개발한 인테로게이터는 광원, 광서큘레이터, 광그레이팅 그리고 CCD센서 및 제어기로 구성된다. FBG센서로부터 반사된 광원의 스펙트럼을 분석하여 피크 파장를 검출하고 피크 파장의 변이를 이용하여 구조물의 변형 정도를 측정한다. 본 논문에서는 FBG센서 인테로게이터의 피크 검출 알고리즘에 주로 적용하는 중심점 알고리즘과 Gaussian 근사법을 비교한다. Gaussian 근사법에 개발한 인테로게이터에 적합함을 실험을 통하여 확인한다.

고에너지 질소 이온 주입된 CdS 박막 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of High Energy Nitrogen ion Implanted CdS Thin Films)

  • 진공 증착한 CdS 박막의 질소 이온 주입 효과를 X-선 회절 검사, 광 투과율, 라만 산란 특성을 통하여 조사하였다. 질소 이온 주입하지 않은 CdS 박막은 (0 0 2)면으로의 우선 방위를 가지고 성장하였다. 질소 이온 주입한 시편의 경우 metallic Cd가 형성됨을 XRD 분석 결과 알 수 있었다. 가시광 영역에서의 광투과율은 질소 이온 주입 양이 많아짐에 따라 크게 감소하였다. 또한 질소 이온 주입 양에 따라 CdS 박막의 흡수 계수는 지수 함수적으로 증가하였고, 밴드 갭은 감소하였다 CdS 박막의 라만 peak 위치는 질소 이온 주입 양에 관계없이 299 cm-1로 거의 일정하지만, peak의 FWHM은 이온 주입 양이 증가함에 따라 커졌고, peak 면적은 감소하였다.
