Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the treatment outcomes according to the socioeconomic factor of patients who visited the emergency room. Methods: This study conducted frequency analysis, percentage analysis, and Fisher's exact test analysis method, using the R 4.1.2 program based on the 2019 data from the Korea Health Panel. Results: Among the treatment results of 1,648 patients, 392 patients were hospitalized or transferred to other hospitals, 845 were discharged after treatment, 224 were discharged, and 7 died. The Fisher's exact test of treatment outcomes and socioeconomic factors was not statistically significant for status of the worker and employment relationship, but was significant for the housing, household, economic activity, and insurance types, and marital status and education. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to conduct follow up studies on socioeconomic factors to provide basic data that can contribute to fairness and equity in the health care field.

In this paper, a monitoring program that can automatically determine whether a patient admitted to an isolation room acts out of a stable state through a screen photographed in real time is described. The motion recognition model of this program was built by learning through transfer learning. 900 images were used for the three movements, and this program was developed for the web to support all environments. The model was determined with high accuracy to determine the state of the subject hospitalized in the isolation room, and can be applied by applying it to the existing isolation room monitoring system.
This is a report of 8 cases cardiac arrest developed in the operating room at Jeonbug university Hospital from January 1973 to October, 1975. Four patients of cardiac arrest developed during the elective operation, 3 during the emergency operation and the remaining one, bronchoscopy for foreign body removal under the general anesthesia. Immediate closed chest cardiac massage was performed in the 7 patients and the remaining one underwent open chest cardiac massage. Five of 7 patients with the closed chest cardiac massage regained consciousness and restored respiration, but 3 patients of these survived to be discharged. Two patients who underwent pneumonectomy for multiple lung abscess and open drainage for liver abscess, were resuscitated but did survived. The Latter died from bleeding due to rupture of the liver that developed during the closed chest cardiac massage. One patient who had open chest cardiac massage survived to be discharged without any sequele. Unsuccessful resuscitation was observed in two patients, one had a complication of malignant hyperthermia with muscle rigidity during gastrectomy for ulcer perforation and another had not firm support on the back during massage.

Intraoperative Radiation therapy (IORT) is a cancer treatment modality in which resectable masses or organs are removed surgically and residual cancer calls are sterilized by irradiation with a single massive dose during while patient is still anesthetized. Because it is possible that the turner mass can be visualized directly at the time of surgical exploration, tumor volume can be determined more precisely and at the same tin e sensitive adjacent structures can be pulled aside from the irradiation. With these theoretical advantages as compare to conventional external irradiation, IORT can improve the therapeutic ratio of tumor control to normal tissue injury. Yonsei cancer center initiated a pilot study of multidisciplinary IORT program in february of 1986 for the fist attempt in Korea. IORT Was performed in 7 patients with stomach cancer by using existing NELAC-1018 Linear Accelerator treatment room as a surgical suite. IOTR team included department of surgery, Department of Anethesiology, Department of Clinical pathology, operating room nursing personal and Department of radiation oncology.
In many other buildings, hospital is very important because of its function and purpose. A proper building service systems including heating, cooling, ventilation and plumbing systems is required in hospial. Besides, a special systems like medical gas, vacuum cleaning systems are required to prevent contamination as well as cure a patient in hospital. Ventilation is very important method to keep the indoor pressure and clean class. There are some specific rooms to consider clean class and indoor pressure in the general hospital. In this article, specific rooms were set to operating room, laboratory, ICU, isolation unit, and sterilizer room. In this case study, design factors of ventilation system, including air changes of OA and TA, indoor pressure, clean class, filter, and material of system, of specific rooms in hospital were proposed through a literature research and a design examples review.
This paper studied a C-arm's exposure condition and measured scatter rays by thickness and distance. This study reached the following conclusion. 1. Approrimately exposure dose for a patient using fluoroscopy is as follows : 2. Mostly, an operating room was not shielding by lead and operator put on only apron without thyroid and facial part protection. 3. 0.5 mmPb equivalent's apron shielded about 99% of scattered rays at 60 cm from x-ray tube. 4. Scattered rays are depended on distance and thickness so operators are should be careful when using fluoroscopy by C-arm and if possible use high frequency equipment that has a large output.
The rate of suicide is the 5th leading cause of death in Korea. Moreover, suicide is the 1st cause of death in from 2nd to 4th decade. In order to treat suicide attempters who have visited the emergency room and to prevent retries, it is necessary to understand the nature of the suicide and to take the right approach. Suicide is more than doubled in women, and retry rates are high among patients with a history of suicide. Suicidal means are throat, fall, gas poisoning, poisoning and drowning. All suicide attempters should suspect and treat cervical spine injury and airway management, and rapid hyperbaric oxygen therapy is recommended for carbon monoxide addicts. Interviewing a suicide attempter requires a sympathetic attitude and examines the underlying depression or adaptation disorders. Interdisciplinary care with mental health departments is necessary, and interventions in emergency roombased suicide attempt management work can be helpful to connect with the community.

Cancer patients can have different kinds of cancer driver genes, and identification of these patient-specific cancer driver genes is an important step in the development of personalized cancer treatment and drug development. Several bioinformatic methods have been proposed for this purpose, but there is room for improvement in terms of accuracy. In this paper, we propose NPD (Network based Patient-specific Driver gene identification) for identifying patient-specific cancer driver genes. NPD consists of three steps, constructing a patient-specific gene network, applying the modified PageRank algorithm to assign scores to genes, and identifying cancer driver genes through a score comparison method. We applied NPD on six cancer types of TCGA data, and found that NPD showed generally higher F1 score compared to existing patient-specific cancer driver gene identification methods.

Purpose: Postoperative thyroid remnant radioablation therapy is necessary to reduce the recurrence and mortality rates as well as to prepare the patients for a proper long term surveillance of well-differentiated thyroid cancers. The radiation safety rules of the government require the patient to be isolated in a hospital if the expected radiation exposure to the family members would be greater than 5 mSv (500 mRem). The purpose was to measure the radiation received by the family members of patients who received large doses of NaI-131. Material and Methods: We have administered 12 therapy doses ranging from 3.70-5.55 GBq (100 to 150 mCi) to 11 patients, and released them immediately if they met the radiation safety criteria. Informed consent was obtained from the subjects prior to the therapy, and each of them agreed to follow written radiation safety instructions. TLD badges were used to measure the radiation dose received by the family members and the room adjacent to the patient's bed room during the first 72 hours. Results: The average dose received by the family members who spent the most time in the closest distance with the patients was 0.04 mSv with a range of 0.01-0.17 mSv. Even the highest dose was only about 3% of the limit set by the government. The average radiation dose to the outer wall of the patient's room was 0.15 mSv. Conclusion: It is concluded that I-131 ablation therapy can be administered to outpatients safely to thyroid cancer patients who meet the established radiation safety criteria and follow the instructions.

In the monitoring of a patient in a sickroom, not only the physiologic and environmental data of the patient, which is automatically measured, but also the clinical data(clinical chart)of the patient, which is drew up by a doctor or nurse, are recognized as important data. However, since in the current environment of a sickroom, clinical data is collected being divided from the data that is automatically measured, the two data are used without an effective integration. This is because the integration of the two data is difficult due to their different collection times, which leads the reconstruction of clinical data to be remarkably uncertain. In order to solve these problems, a method to synchronize the continuous environmental data of a sickroom and clinical data is appearing as an important measure. In addition, the increase of use of small machines and the development of solutions based on wireless communications provide a communication platform to the developers of health care. Thus, this paper realizes a remote system for taking care of patients based on a web that uses mobile phones. That is, clinical data made by a nurse or doctor and the environmental data of a sick room comes to be collected by a collection module through a wireless sensor network. An observer can see clinical data and the environmental data of a sickroom through his/her mobile phone, integrating and storing his/her data into the database. Families of a patient can see clinical data made by hospital and the environment of the sick room of the patent through their computers or mobile phones outside the hospital. Through the system, hospital can provide better medical services to patients and their families.
