  • In this paper we consider the problem of parameter change based on the cusum test proposed by Lee et al. (2003). The cusum test statistic is constructed utilizing the estimator minimizing density-based divergence measures. It is shown that under regularity conditions, the test statistic has the limiting distribution of the sup of standard Brownian bridge. Simulation results demonstrate that the cusum test is robust when there arc outliers.

  • We obtain a skewed double Weibull distribution by a double Weibull distribution, and evaluate its coefficient of skewness. And we obtain the approximate maximum likelihood estimator(AML) and moment estimator of skew parameter in the skewed double Weibull distribution, and hence compare simulated mean squared errors(MSE) of those estimators. We compare simulated MSE of two proposed reliability estimators in two independent skewed double Weibull distributions each with different skew parameters. Finally we introduce a skewed double Weibull distribution generated by a uniform kernel.

  • The purpose of this paper is to obtain representation of the mathematical special functions and the numerical values of the mean square errors for the quasi-ranges in random small smaples ($n \leq 30$) from the Weibull distribution with a shape and a scale parameters, and to estimate the scale parameter by use of unbiased estimator based on the quasi-range. It will be shown that the jackknife estimator of the range is worse than the range of random samples from the given distribution in the sense of the mean square error.

  • We obtain the approximate maximum likelihood estimators (AMLEs) for the scale and location parameters $\theta$ and $\mu$ in the three-parameter Weibull distribution based on Type-II censored samples. We also compare the AMLEs with the modified maximum likelihood estimators (MMLEs) in the sense of the mean squared error (MSE) based on complete sample.

  • In this paper we propose a goodness-of-fit test statistic for testing the (null) parametric model versus the (alternative) nonparametric model. Most of existing nonparametric test statistics are based on the residuals which are obtained by regressing the data to a parametric model. Our test is based on the bootstrap estimator of the probability that the smoothing parameter estimator is infinite when fitting residuals to cubic smoothing spline. Power performance of this test is investigated and is compared with many other tests. Illustrative examples based on real data sets are given.

  • Parametric estimation of truncated point in a truncated exponential distribution will be considered. The MLE, bias reducing estimator and the ordinary jackknife estimator of the truncated parameter will be compared by mean square errors. And the MME and MLE of mean parameter and estimations of the right tail probability in the distribution will be compared by their MSE's.

  • This paper describes a robust model-based roll state estimator for application to the detection of impending vehicle rollover. The roll state estimator is based on a 2-D bicycle model and a roll model to estimate the maneuver-induced vehicle roll motion. The measurement signals are lateral acceleration, yaw rate, steering angle, and vehicle speed. Vehicle mass is adapted to obtain robust performance of the estimator. Computer simulation is conducted to evaluate the proposed roll state estimator by using a validated vehicle simulator. It is shown that the roll state estimator shows robust performance without exact vehicle mass information.

  • This thesis deals with the design problem of the state estimator for digital servo system. Digital servo system has input time delay, which depends on the size of control algorithm. The delayed input is a factor that brings out the state estimation error. So, in order to reduce this state estimation error of the system, we proposes a state estimator in which the delayed input of the system is considered. At first, a discrete-time state-space model is established accounting for the delayed input. Next, the state estimator is designed based on this model. we employ Kalman filter algorithm in design of the state estimator. The performance of proposed state estimator is exemplified via some simulations and experiment for servo system. And robustness of the proposed estimator to modelling error by variation of the system parameter is also shown in these simulations.

  • In this paper, we propose an estimation method of the parameter in an exponential distribution based on a progressive Type I interval censored sample with semi-missing observation. The maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of the parameter in the exponential distribution cannot be obtained explicitly because the intervals are not equal in length under the progressive Type I interval censored sample with semi-missing data. To obtain the MLE of the parameter for the sampling scheme, we propose a method by which progressive Type I interval censored sample with semi-missing data is converted to the progressive Type II interval censored sample. Consequently, the estimation procedures in the progressive Type II interval censored sample can be applied and we obtain the MLE of the parameter and survival function. It will be shown that the obtained estimators have good performance in terms of the mean square error (MSE) and mean integrated square error (MISE).
