A Study on Trailing Edge Noise from a Blade Cascade in a Uniform Flow (케스케이드 날개 후단소음 특성에 관한 연구)

  • It is addressed that the turbulent broadband sound power from a sirocco fan can be modeled by the trailing edge noise. The trailing edge noise is usually influenced by inflow turbulence, separation and boundary layer on the blade. The design parameters such as solidity(c/s) and stagger angle are specified to predict performance and noise level because the separation and slip velocity are strongly affected by them along with the flow coefficient. This paper reports the effects of the stagger angle upon the trailing edge noise for various trailing edge shapes. It is believed that the serrated trailing edge provides break-up mechanism for organized convecting vortices, thereby reduce the overall noise level.

  • Dies may have to be replaced for a number of reasons, such as changes in dimensions due to die wear or plastic deformation, deterioration of the surface finish, break down of lubrication and cracking or breakage. In this paper, die cooling methods have been suggested to improve die service life considering die wear and plastic deformation in hot forging process. The yield strength of die decreases at higher temperatures and is dependent on hardness. Also, to evaluate die life due to wear, modified Archard's wear model has been proposed by considering the thermal softening of die expressed in terms of the main tempering curve. It was found that the use of die with cooling hole was more effective than that of direct cooling method to increase the die service life for spindle component.

  • Recently, the occurrences of electrical fire have been suppressed by an earth leakage breaker(ELB), a no fuse breaker(NFB) and a fuse in case of an earth leakage, a short circuit and an over current. But it is impossible for the ELB to break the circuit in the case of the failure of pressure contacts on connecting points and the momentary short circuit. Therefore, it is require to study the constructive problem of the ELB. In this paper, we have developed the auxiliary control device, electrical fire prevention control device(EFPCD), of the ELB. And we have tested the operation characteristics of the ELB according to the load(R, L) As a result of this experiment, we could prevent the electrical fire due to the spark and the overheat occurring in the failure of pressure contacts on connecting points and the momentary short circuit.

Lightning Protection of Signalling Equipments at Subway Car Depot by Equi-potential Bonding (지하철 차량기지에서의 등전위 본딩에 의한 신호시스템 낙뢰보호대책)

  • Signalling equipments at railroad sites are widely exposed to high voltage lightning surges. This paper presents a lightning protection system for the signalling equipments at subway car depots. The main features of the system are as follows : (1)the common grounding system between power system grounds and the signaling system grounds, (2)physical and chemical methods to reduce grounding resistivity, (3)rearrangement of lightning rods based on the rolling bal1 theory, (4)equi-potential bonding networks to minimize the potential differences between the equipments grounds. The system has been constructed at six subway car depots in Seoul metropolitan area and it is measured that the grounding resistivity are reduced to 0.266 ohms and the potential differences between devices are reduced to a negligible quantity. After the construction of the systems, it has not been reported the break-down of the signalling equipments caused by lighting surges.

  • Wavelet transformation in image compression is to offer higher image compressibility and high-quality by quantization and entropy encoding. More image quality is good that reconstructed image by wavelet calculation than acquire cosine transform. Therefore, wavelet itself is function if it is wavelet's feature, in this function, do processing applying difference scale and resolution. That is, this is not that fixed resolution has been decided like existent compression way, when it regulated scale, damage goes in pixel and picture looks like break without giving damage entirely in reflex even if magnify or curtail Decoding. Therefore, this paper is in Image that using new wavelet application compression way research that see applies comparing In each image noted this time compressing step by step with circle image compression efficiency recognize. Also, estimated quality pass through by printing of compressed image, investigated compression ratio of most suitable that get print of high quality and elevation of transmission speed.

Process Reliability Improvement and Setup Cost Reduction in Imperfect Production System

  • In studying an EOQ-like inventory model for a manufacturing process, a number of findings were made. The system can "go out of control" resulting in a relatively minor problem state or "break-down". When the production system is in the minor problem statei produces a number of defective items. It is assumed that each defective piece requires rework cost and related operations. Once the machine breakdown takes place, the production system produces severely defective items that are completely unusable. Each completely unusuable item is immediately discarded and incurs handling cost, scrapped raw material cost and related operations. Two investment options in improving the production process are introduced : (1) reducing the probability of machine breakdown, breakdowns, and (2) simultaneously reducing the probability of machine breakdowns and setup costs. By assuming specific forms of investment cost function, the optimal investment policies are obtained explicitly. Finally, to better understand the model in this paper, the sensitivity of these solutions to changes in parameter values and numerical examples are provided.amples are provided.

  • In Wireless ATM Networks, the mobility management of that is used currently have been studying variously. In this paper, we show the properties of location registration, update, and handoff control mechanism of these first. And then, for frequent handoff occurring condition under minimized cellular environment by degrees, we did comparison and analysis focucing on handoff delay, call-blocking rate and call-dropping rate with communication break-time and velocity variation.

  • To boost the Korean peninsula as a logistical hub of North-East Asia in 21st century is an important part of Korean development strategies. This research has been conducted on the premise that the connection and operation of the Korean Peninsula break-railway and Euro-Asian railway network will be a great drive for Korean economy and railway technology development. For the preparation to do a further research on this subject, this paper introduces the general condition and related basic material for the railway network operation through the countries along the corridor. It also provides the basic data of railway and actual operation condition in the involved Euro- Asian areas, such as Russia, China, Mongolia, Kazakh-stan, etc.

  • Recently, the load increasement and regenerative system of electrified railway system make a difficult to distinguish between the load current and fault current and it need a new intelligent protection system. The failure of traction system cause collapse of the other systems from high tension current. The over current from abnormal situation produces high tension current flow, high temperature are, voltage instability and current cutting, and break down railway systems. Protective system of traction system playa role of which detect and isolate failure points. In this paper, we proposed intelligent algorithm for discriminating normal and abnormal situation instead of the system being operated abnormally.

  • For the connection of trans-continental railway network, it is critical to conquer the break-of-gauge problem at the borders in different countries. Up to now, the best solution seems to be the employ of the auto-changable gauge equipment. Countries, such as Russia, Japan are developing and commercializing auto-changable gauge equipment to maximize transport efficiency for the trans-continental network. The efforts to search a suitable logistical service are also underway. In this paper, technology and development trend of this equipment in several countries is indicated through inspecting and analyzing the historical and current situation of development, operating mechanism and technical problems. As the basic technology of auto-changeable gauge is not well developed in our country, the purpose of this study is to search an approach to fix the research direction, and find practical ways to international cooperation.
