This study was carried out to analyze the composition of landfill generation gas using vertical pipe wells installed at landfill. The characteristics of composed waste were examined by the open-cut test at H. landfill in Pusan. The waste compositions of landfill layer by Open-cut test indicated that organic matter was average $4.6{\sim}8.78%$ in each landfill. $CH_4$ compositions of gas in each landfill were $49.71{\sim}50.45%$(A-point), $50.39{\sim}53.74%$(B-point), and $58.76{\sim}61.62%(C-point), respectively. The chemical formula of organic matter left in the underground was $C_{36.3}H_{76}O_{30}N_{0.3}S_{0.1}$ Underground temperatures were changed to $18.8{\sim}25.8^{\circ}C$ when the ambient temperature was about $13.4^{\circ}C$. Temperatures with passed times in A, B and C-lysimeter were about $21.1{\sim}22.5^{\circ}C,\;30{\sim}32.5^{\circ}C$ and $35{\sim}38.5^{\circ}C$, respectively. After about 65 day, decomposition rates of organic matter in A, B and C-lysimeter were 9.9%, 14.9% and 22.3%, respectively.
Background: We prospectively evaluated the incidence and possible factors causing intramuscular injection during lumbar sympathetic ganglion block and compared the multiple needle technique to the single technique to obtain a profound and complete block effect. Methods: Among 83 patients, 58 patients (group A, n = 27, multiple needle technique and group B, n = 31, single needle technique) were reevaluated for the changes of skin temperature (Ts) and mean segment of longitudinal contrast spread. After injecting the contrast agent, the incidence of psoas muscle injection and the change of Ts was compared between two groups. Results: The incidence of psoas muscle injection was 21.3% (46/216) and it was associated with the level of injection (L2) significantly (${\chi}_2$ = 14.773, P = 0.001). $DT^{post}$ (postblock temperature difference between ipsilateral and contralateral great toe, $4.6{\pm}2.8^{\circ}C$, $1.8{\pm}1.6^{\circ}C$, P < 0.001 for group A and B) and $DT^{net}$ ($DT^{post}$ - $DT^{pre}$, $3.9{\pm}2.7^{\circ}C$, $1.5{\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$, P < 0.001 for group A and B) was significantly higher in group A. The mean segment of longitudinal contrast spread was $8.1{\pm}0.9$ for group A and $3.2{\pm}1.6$ for group B (P < 0.001). Conclusions: The LSGB at the L2 level showed the lowest incidence of psoas muscle injection of contrast. Multiple needle approach showed more significant increase of $DT^{net}$ and $DT^{post}$.
Net blotch of barley caused by Pyrenophora teres (Died.) Drechsler, is one of the most destructive diseases on barley in Algeria. It occurs in two forms: P. teres f. teres and P. teres f. maculata. A total of 212 isolates, obtained from 58 fields sampled in several barley growing areas, were assessed for fungicide sensitivity by target gene analysis. F129L and G137R mitochondrial cytochrome b substitution associated with quinone outside inhibitors (QoIs) resistance, and succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors (SDHIs) related mutations (B-H277, C-N75S, C-G79R, C-H134R, and C-S135R), were analyzed by pyrosequencing. In vitro sensitivity of 45 isolates, towards six fungicides belonging to three chemical groups (QoI, demethylase inhibitor, and SDHI) was tested by microtiter technique. Additionally, sensitivity towards three fungicides (azoxystrobin, fluxapyroxad, and epoxiconazole) was assessed in planta under glasshouse conditions. All tested isolates were QoI-sensitive and SDHI-sensitive, no mutation that confers resistance was identified. EC50 values showed that pyraclostrobin and azoxystrobin are the most efficient fungicides in vitro, whereas fluxapyroxad displayed the best disease inhibition in planta (81% inhibition at 1/9 of the full dose). The EC50 values recorded for each form of net blotch showed no significant difference in efficiency of QoI treatments and propiconazole on each form. However, in the case of fluxapyroxad, epoxiconazole and tebuconazole treatments, analysis showed significant differences in their efficiency. To our knowledge, this study is the first investigation related to mutations associated to QoI and SDHI fungicide resistance in Algerian P. teres population, as well as it is the first evaluation of the sensitivity of P. teres population towards these six fungicides.

Based on surrogate model, a hydrocarbon mixture was analyzed by visualizing the impinging break up mechanism in subcritical and supercritical conditions. Decane and methylcyclohexane with different critical pressures and temperatures were selected as experimental fluids. The impinging injector was installed inside the chamber, and the spray was visualized through a speed camera in subcritical and supercritical conditions. The injection condition of the mixture and chamber was kept constant at Pr(P/Pc) = 1, and Tr(T/Tc) was increased from 0.48 to 1.02. As Tr increased, the spray angle increased, and the sheet length decreased as the properties of the mixture reached each critical point. In addition, when the mixture approached the near critical point, it was shown that the change in density gradient was largely observed out of the impinging break up mechanism.
The gibberellins (GAs) play important roles in plant growth and development. Twenty three fungi were isolated from the roots of Lindera obtusiloba and Vaccinium koreanum. The numbers of GA-producing fungi were six strains from Lindera obtusiloba and four strains from Vaccinium koreanum. The fungi with GAs-producing activity were incubated for seven days in 40 ml of Czapek's liquid medium at $25^{\circ}C$, 120 rpm, and the amount of each GA in the medium was measured by gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS) to determine the productivity of GAs. Penicillium griseofulvum KNU5379 produced more GA in case of $GA_{3}$ than Neurospora crassa known as a GAs-producing fungus. P. griseofulvum KNU5379 was shown to produce $GA_1\;9.79\;ng,\;GA_3\;133.58\;ng,\;GA_4\;2.64\;ng,\;GA_7\;7.80\;ng\;and\;GA_{53}\;0.73\;ng$ in 25 ml of liquid medium. Bioassay using culture fluid of GAs-production fungi was performed on rice sprout.
Brown blotch disease in cultivated mushrooms is caused by Pseudomonas tolaasii, which secretes a lipodepsipeptide, tolaasin. Tolaasin is a pore-forming toxin in the cell membranes, thus destroying the fruiting body structure of mushroom. In this study, we isolated pathogenic bacteria from mushrooms that had symptoms of brown blotch disease. In order to identify these bacteria, their 16S rRNA genes were sequenced and analyzed. Pathogenic bacteria identified as Pseudomonas species were thirty five and classified into five subgroups: P1 to P5. Each subgroup showed different metabolic profile measured by API 20NE kit. Fifty percent of the bacteria were identified as P. tolaasii (P1 subgroup). All five subgroups caused the formation of brown blotches on mushroom tissues and the optimum temperature was 25oC, indicating that they may be able to secrete causal factors, such as tolaasin and similar peptide toxins. These results show that there are at least five different pathogenic Pseudomonas species as blotch-causing bacteria and, therefore, strains from the P2 to P5 subgroups should be also considered and studied as pathogens in order to improve the quality and yield of mushroom production.
The whole eggs with of without added 1% of glucose, lactose and sucrose respectively were pasteurized at $58^{\circ}C$ for 30min and then incubated for 24 hrs after inoculating with S. lactis, L. casei and S. faecalis to investigate the changes in lactic acid bacterial cell counts, titable acidity and pH. Fresh eggs were not contaminated with common bacteria and Salmonella, Proliferation of L. casei was the best among those microorganisms in pasteurized whole egg without sugar added, and titrable acidity was the highst and pH the lowest in the eggs fermented with L. casei. However, lactic acid bacterial cell counts, titrable acidity and pH were changed significantly by the addition of sugar, especially the growth of S. faecalis was better than two other organisms, and lactic acid bacterial cell counts, titrable acidity and pH of the eggs fermented with S. faecalis were $2.5{\times}10^{10}$, 0.70 and 4.8 respectively after 24 hrs fermentation.
This study was conducted to evaluate the disinfection effects of Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli treated with 461-nm LED and pH 5 at $15^{\circ}C$ for 10 h. S. aureus strains were decreased by about 4 log CFU/mL after 461-nm LED irradiation treatment alone for 10 h. E. coli strains were inactivated by irradiation. However, when microorganisms were subjected to a combined treatment of 461-nm LED and pH 5, both strains were inactivated by irradiation for 7 h. The highest D-value was 5.05 h for S. aureus ATCC 27664 and the lowest D-value was 1.39 h for E.coli O157: H7 ATCC 35150 (p<0.05) with 461-nm LED irradiation. For the combined treatment (461-nm LED and pH 5), the highest D-value was 1.58 h for S. aureus ATCC 19095, whereas the lowest D-value was 0.83 h for S. aureus ATCC 27664 (p<0.05). These data showed that bactericidal effects of a combination of pH 5 with 461-nm LED irradiation were enhanced compared to 461-nm LED irradiation alone.
This study was carried out to process canned ark shell with highly quality by management of proper processing conditions for prevention of oxidation and discoloration by heating. Ark shell has hemoglobin as blood pigment in red blood shell which same as other cockles. Hemoglobin is easy to come oxidation and browning reaction, and it has large contents of carotenoid as meat pigment. Proximate compositions in ark shell were 76.9% of moisture, 18.1% of crude protein, 1.8% of crude lipid, 1.3% of carbohydrate and 1.6% of crude ash. And contents of carotenoid and hemoglobin were 0.67~1.02mg% and 0.98~1.64g/dl, respectively. When the living ark shell was soaked in 2% NaCl solutions, about 89% of mud was removed after 10 hours soaking, and over 91% was removed when the pH was adjusted to 7.5. Carotenoid pigment were prepared that extracted from ark shell by using acetone. And determined visible spectrum were two peak at 452nm and 687nm, and λmax were 452nm. During thermal treatment at 95$^{\circ}C$, 111$^{\circ}C$, 116$^{\circ}C$ and 121$^{\circ}C$ for 60 minutes, retention ratio of carotenoid were 71.8%, 66.8%, 64.4% and 36.5%, and after 120 minutes retention ratio were 56.6%, 30.6%, 30.3% and 17.2%, respectively. When heated at 95$^{\circ}C$, 111$^{\circ}C$, 116$^{\circ}C$ and 121$^{\circ}C$, formation of browning material were increased at high temperature and long time treatment.
An alkalophilic microorganism capable of degrading dyes was developed for the treatment of alkaline dye solution. This strain was identified as Pseudomonas species. Using this microorganism, biological treatment of dye was studied in Erlenmeyer flasks. The characteristics of this microorganism were observed under various incubating-condition such as temperature, pH, nitrogen source, and macronutrients concentration. The removal effciencies of Disperse Red 60 from synthetic wastewater were 33.5 ~ 36.9% at the range of $30{\sim}40^{\circ}C$, and they were 31.1 ~ 36.7% at the range of initial pH 8 ~ pH 10, respectively. The optimal culture medium was found to be 0.25%(w/v) yeast extract, 0.25%(w/v) polypeptone, 0.1%(w/v) $KH_2PO_4$, 0.2%(w/v) $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$, and 1.0%(w/v) $Na_2CO_3$. In treatment of various dyes using Erlenmeyer flasks, the removal effciencies of Disperse Blue 87, Disperse Yellow 64, Disperse Red 60, Acid Blue 193, Acid Red 138, and Direct Yellow 23 were found to be 76%, 71%, 58%, 93%, 94%, and 90% respectively after 24hrs reaction of alkalophilic strain Pseudomonas sp. YBE-12.
