For a ring endomorphism ${\alpha}$ and an ${\alpha}-derivation\;{\delta}$ of a ring R, we study relation between the set of annihilators in R and the set of annihilators in nearring $R[x;{\alpha},{\delta}]\;and\;R_0[[x;{\alpha}]]$. Also we extend results of Armendariz on the Baer and p.p. conditions in a polynomial ring to certain analogous annihilator conditions in a nearring of skew polynomials. These results are somewhat surprising since, in contrast to the skew polynomial ring and skew power series case, the nearring of skew polynomials and skew power series have substitution for its "multiplication" operation.

We design and fabricate a widely tunable laser diode made of InGaAsP-InP. The diode is monolithically integrated with a wavelength-selective coupled-ring reflector and semiconductor amplifiers. For realization of a compact size device, deeply etched multi-mode interference couplers and square ring resonators composed of total-internal-reflection mirrors are adopted and fabricated using a self-aligned process. It is demonstrated that the laser diode exhibits single mode operation and 16 nm tuning range with side-mode-suppression-ratio exceeding 20 dB.

Recently, we identified a domain, termed MIRC3-4, for the protein-protein interaction between yeast chitin synthase 3 (CHS3) and chitin synthase 4 (CHS4). In this study, the functional roles of MIRC3-4 were examined at the G1 phase and cytokinesis of the cell cycle by Calcofluor staining and FISH. Some mutations in MIRC3-4 resulted in disappearance of the chitin ring in the early G1 phase, but did not affect chitin synthesis in the cell wall at cytokinesis. The chitin distribution in chs4 mutant cells indicated that CHS4 was involved in the synthesis of chitinring in the G1 phase and in the synthesis of cell wall chitin after cytokinesis, suggesting that Chs4p regulates chitin synthase 3 activity differently in G1 and cytokinesis. Absence of the chitin ring could be caused either by delocalization of Chs3p to the bud-neck or by improper interaction with Chs4p. When mutant cells were immunostained with a Chs3p-specific antibody to discriminate between these two alternatives, the mutated Ch3p was found to localize to the neck in all MIRC3-4 mutants. These results strongly irdicate that Chs4p regulates Chs3p as an activator but not a recruiter.

Let R be a ring with identity, X the set of all nonzero, nonunits of R and G the group of all units of R. First, we investigate some connected conditions of the zero-divisor graph $\Gamma(R)$ of a noncommutative ring R as follows: (1) if $\Gamma(R)$ has no sources and no sinks, then $\Gamma(R)$ is connected and diameter of $\Gamma(R)$, denoted by diam($\Gamma(R)$) (resp. girth of $\Gamma(R)$, denoted by g($\Gamma(R)$)) is equal to or less than 3; (2) if X is a union of finite number of orbits under the left (resp. right) regular action on X by G, then $\Gamma(R)$ is connected and diam($\Gamma(R)$) (resp. g($\Gamma(R)$)) is equal to or less than 3, in addition, if R is local, then there is a vertex of $\Gamma(R)$ which is adjacent to every other vertices in $\Gamma(R)$; (3) if R is unit-regular, then $\Gamma(R)$ is connected and diam($\Gamma(R)$) (resp. g($\Gamma(R)$)) is equal to or less than 3. Next, we investigate the graph automorphisms group of $\Gamma(Mat_2(\mathbb{Z}_p))$ where $Mat_2(\mathbb{Z}_p)$ is the ring of 2 by 2 matrices over the galois field $\mathbb{Z}_p$ (p is any prime).

In a ring $R_n(K,\;J)$ where K is a commutative ring with identity and J is an ideal of K, all prime ideals of $R_n(K,\;J)$ are of the form either $M_n(P)\;o;R_n(P,\;P\;{\cap}\;J)$. Therefore there is a one to one correspondence between prime ideals of K not containing J and prime ideals of $R_n(K,\;J)$.

본 연구는 전남지역에 조림된 편백림을 대상으로 출현종의 개체수 및 종다양성 등의 식생요인과 토양요인의 상관성을 밝히고, 편백의 연륜생장량에 영향을 미치는 입지환경요인을 분석하였다. 편백림의 식생요인과 토양요인의 상관관계분석에서 종다양성지수와 CEC 유효인산 치환성 $K^+$사이에서는 높은 정의 상관관계를 보였다(P<0.01). 또한, 출현종수와 CEC 유효인산 치환성 $K^+$ 치환성 $Mg^{2+}$ 사이에서도 높은 정의 상관관계를 보였다(P<0.01). 편백의 연륜생장량과 입지환경요인간 상관관계 분석에서 연륜생장량은 유효인산, CEC, 치환성 $K^+$, 전기전도도 등 토양의 보비력 및 비옥도와 높은 상관관계를 보였다(P<0.01). 편백 연륜생장량의 설명변수는 치환성 $K^+$과 유기물함량, 토양산도며, 회귀모형의 설명력($R^2$)은 74.4%로 높은 수준이었다. 이 모형에서 편백의 연륜생장량은 치환성 $K^+$과 유기물함량이 높을수록 늘어났지만, 토양산도는 낮을수록 줄어들었다. 따라서, 편백의 연륜생장량은 유효인산 CEC 치환성 $K^+$ 전기전도도 등의 토양지력이 유효한 영향을 미친 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 편백림의 토양지력은 편백의 하층식생으로부터의 낙엽공급이 유익한 영향을 미치는 것으로 보인다.

Let R be a commutative noetherian ring with 1.neq.0, denoting by .nu.(I) the cardinality of a minimal basis of the ideal I. Let A be a polynomial ring in n>0 variables with coefficients in R, and let M be a maximal ideal of A. Generally it is shown that .nu.(M $A_{M}$).leq..nu.(M).leq..nu.(M $A_{M}$)+1. It is well known that the lower bound is not always satisfied, and the most classical examples occur in nonfactional Dedekind domains. But in many cases, (e.g., A is a polynomial ring whose coefficient ring is a field) the lower bound is attained. In [2] and [3], the conditions when the lower bound is satisfied is investigated. Especially in [3], it is shown that .nu.(M)=.nu.(M $A_{M}$) if M.cap.R=p is a maximal ideal or $A_{M}$ (equivalently $R_{p}$) is not regular or n>1. Hence the problem of determining whether .nu.(M)=.nu.(M $A_{M}$) can be studied when p is not maximal, $A_{M}$ is regular and n=1. The purpose of this note is to provide some conditions in which the lower bound is satisfied, when n=1 and R is a regular local ring (hence $A_{M}$ is regular)./ is regular).

Floating guard ring(FGR) 구조를 갖는 avalanche photodiode(APD)는 제작이 매우 간단하고 제작된 소자의 신뢰성이 뛰어나기 때문에 고감도 특성의 고속동작 수광소자로 적합하다. 본 연구논문에서는 FGR APD의 구조설계, 제작공정 및 특성 측정 결과에 대해 논의하였다. FRG-APD는 이중확산 방법으로 제작하였으며 FGR이 가드링으로서 동작함을 2차원 이득특성 측정으로부터 확인할 수 있었다. 제작된 APD는 35GHz의 이득-대역폭 곱을 나타내었으며 2.5Gbps NRZ(Non-return-to-zero) 광신호에 대한 수신감도는 비트오율이 $10^{-9}$일 때 -31.9dBm이었다.

Let $S\;=\;R[\chi_{ij}\mid1\;{\le}\;i\;{\le}\;m,\;1\;{\le}\;j\;{\le}\;n]$ be the polynomial ring over a noetherian commutative ring R and $I_p$ be the determinantal ideal generated by the $p\;\times\;p$ minors of the generic matrix $(\chi_{ij})(1{\le}P{\le}min(m,n))$. We describe a minimal free resolution of $S/I_{p}$, in the case m = n = p + 2 over $\mathbb{Z}$.

치아의 와동에 수복된 치과용 복합레진을 광(LED) 조사를 통해 정화 수축시키면서 음향방출(acoustic emission, AE) 신호를 검출하였다. 비모수 통계법인 Mann-Whitney법과 Kruskal-Wallis법을 이용하여 시편의 재질과 계면의 접착조건에 따른 AE hit event 수와 최대진폭을 비교 평가하였다. PMMA와 치아시편으로부터 검출된 선호의 최대진폭은 정착조건에 따른 차이가 없었지만 스테인리스 시편으로부터 검출된 신호는 접착조건에 따라 최대 진폭의 차이가 있었다(p<0.05). AE hit event 수는 양호한 접착조건에서 시편의 재질에 따라 차이가 있었고(p<0.05), 세가지 재질의 시편 모두 접착조건이 양호한 실험에서 AE 신호가 적게 검출되었다. SEM을 이용하여 계면에 생성된 캡을 측정한 결과 AE가 많이 검출되고 검출된 신호의 최대 진폭이 큰 시편에서 갱의 폭이 넓고 형성 비율이 높았다.
