We studied on the softness properties of polyester fabric by vapor type ozone processing using ozone's strong oxidation instead of 25% NaOH chemical treatment. When vapor type ozone processing was directly treated to fabrics retaining water to 40% pick up ratio, high concentration ozone was generated oxidation of 3~4% approximately in polyester fabrics and finally its softness improved. The fabric's softness effect was improved because vapor type ozone generated the highest decomposition to oxidation of surface and inter molecules. The experiment revealed that fabric's softness was improved by change of the time of vapor type ozone processing. However, tensile strength and elongation were reduced by increase in time, 60 minute was assumed as the most optimized time to minimize the reduction of fabric's tensile strength and elongation as well as maximizing the fabric's softness.
An efficient microbial control system was introduced into a garlic peeling system using pressurized water in order to improve the quality and the shelf-life of peeled garlic. High microbial density of the spoiled peeled garlic and the water used for peeling and washing indicated that an efficient microbial control system is necessary far the peeling system. Though Pseudomonas spp. and Penicillium spp. were closely related to the spoilage of peeled garlic, the spoilage of peeled garlic was thought to be caused mainly by nonspecific increase in microbial density. The shelf-life of the garlic peeled by pressurized water was longer than that of the garlic peeled by pressurized air, and the degree of damage had great effect on the shelf-life of peeled garlic. Ozonated water was effective in decreasing the microbial contamination and in increasing the shelf-life of peeled garlic. Based on the findings of the study, following improvements were made to the garlic peeling system using pressurized water; 1) the water circulation system was modified in order to completely separate the water for washing from the water for garlic peeling, 2) filtration and cooling equipments were introduced into the circulation system of the water for peeling, and 3) an ozone generator which could continuously supply ozonated water (dissolved ozone concentration of 0.4 ppm) was attached to the circulation system of the water for washing.
In this study, the effects of two pre-treatment processes were observed prior to membrane filtration: pre-coagulation and pre-ozonation. To compare the effect of two above-mentioned pre-treatments, we adopted the four schemes: first one is direct membrane filtration of river surface water, second one is membrane filtration after pre-coagulation, third one is membrane filtration after pre-ozonation and fourth one is membrane filtration after pre-coagulation and pre-ozonation. There are two exceptional characteristics in applied processes. One is the usage of the MF membrane which has high ozone resisting characteristic. Therefore, ozone resides in membrane module during filtration. The other is adoption of Jet Mixed Separator (JMS) as coagulation-sedimentation process. The change in transmembrane pressure and permeate water quality were also examined. As a result, considering the filtration performance efficiency and permeate water quality, the process composed of filtration with combination of both pre-coagulation and pre-ozonation was proved most effective. The improved efficiency was due to the reduction of loading rate of fouling inducing materials to membrane module by coagulation process as well as variable reactions, such as degradation, particle destabilization and coagulation, occurred by residual ozone in membrane module. The additional effect of pre-coagulation before pre-ozonation is suppression of AOC, one of the by-products induced by ozonation. Therefore, combination of pre-coagulation and pre-ozonation is the effective process to overcome the major de-merit of ozonation i.e. by-products formation.
The ozone kinetics including ozone auto-decomposition. effect of pH, and solubility were investigated. Diesel decomposition process including TCE & PCE decomposition. effect of hydroxyl radical scavenger, effect of pH, and ozone/$H_2O$$_2$by ozonation process were also examined using deionized water, simulated groundwater. and actual groundwater. Reactions with deionized water and groundwater both stowed the second-order reaction rates, and the reaction rate was much higher in groundwater (half-life of 14.7 min) than in deionized water (hal(half-life of 37.5 min). The reaction rate was accelerated at high pH values in both waters. The use of ozone showed high oxidation rates of TCE. PCE and diesel. Though hydroxyl radical scavengers existing in groundwater were inhibitors for treating diesel, high pH condition and addition of hydrogen peroxide could accelerate to degrade diesel in groundwater, indicating ozone oxidation process could be applied to treating diesel contaminated-groundwater.

This paper is researched discharge and ozone generation characteristics of ozonizer using $Al_2O_3$ Ceramic dielectric. The discharge characteristics with variation of the discharge electrode area is studied. The characteristics of ozone concentration. ozone generation and ozone yield were measured to discharge power, discharge electrode area and supplied gas flux for oxygen and air. The solubility of ozone for water concentrations and ozone generations proportional to discharge power and discharge electrode area. Ozone yield has slowly increase with Increasing discharge power at high flow-rate. As the result, the maximum values of ozone characteristics ozone generation and ozone yield, can be obtained 5817[ppm] and 36[g/kWh]. We make enough the ozone concentration as the air in the home. An electric discharge electrode area is apt to shrink gradually into a miniaturization trend of the ozonizer but the enlargement of the occurrence flight of the electric discharge area gives the characteristic enhance the aid in the identity condition through the structure improvement.
The change of the microbial community structure in excess sludge of different sewage treatment plants by ozone treatment was investigated by quinone profiles. The resulting ozone dosage ranged from 0.1 to $0.4gO_3/gTS$. In terms of overall sludge reduction, more than 50% reduction of the total sludge mass could be achieved by ozone treatment at $0.4gO_3/gTS$. Quinone concentration and type in sludge of different treatment plants were remarkably decreases with increasing ozone dose. Ubiquinones(UQs)-8, -10 and MK-8 were still remained in the ozonized sludge at $0.4gO_3/gTS$. The results of this study showed that the remaining microorganisms belong to UQs-8, -10 and MK-8 were difficult to destruct cell membrane or wall by ozonation. Fecal Streptococci and Salmonella were not detected at ozone dose of $0.2gO_3/gTS$, but Fecal Coliform was not detected at ozone dose of $0.4gO_3/gTS$.

In this article, the removal of surfactant by ozone and BAC was studied. Batch and pilot tests were carried out for these studies. In batch tests, efficiency of ozone oxidation process was evaluated for LAS(Linear Alkylbenzen Sulfonate) and SLS(Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) removal. Under oxidant conditions, the removal of LAS was more effective than that of SLS. The removal of surfactant was more enhanced with increasing pH in oxidant systems. Pilot tests are carried out with BAC single process and ozone oxidation/BAC combined process. The removal of LAS was more effective in ozone oxidation/BAC combined process than BAC single process about 10-20%. In the case of SLS, the efficiency of BAC single process was similar to that of ozone oxidation BAC combined process. According to temperature, the removal efficiency of SLS changed from 70% to 95% and initial concentration of surfactant had no effects on removal efficiency of SLC under applied temperature above $15^{\circ}C$.
The pretreatment process was carried out to solubilize the sewage sludge for enhancing its biodegradability using alkaline treatment, ultrasonic treatment(15kHz), ozone treatment and different combination of these three methods: alkaline followed by ultrasonic as well as ozone, and ultrasonic followed by alkaline. The solubilization efficiency was evaluated based on the SCOD/TCOD ratio and VSS/TS ratio. In results, the proper condition of alkaline treatment was shown as 30meq/l of NaOH, pH 12 and 3hours of reaction time. Solubilization efficiency increased to 17% from initial 2% based on SCOD/TCOD ratio under this condition. In ultrasonic treatment, the higher ultrasonic power, the longer treatment time and the lower sludge volume resulted in higher solubilization respectively. There was a rapid increase in solubilization efficiency after 20 minute, then it was measured as 32% of SCOD/TCOD ratio in 1 hour at a ultrasonic power of 1,300W with 1/sludge. Solubilization efficiencies in combined treatment using alkaline and ultrasonic were 47-53% higher than single treatment at a sonicated time of 1 hour. Ozone treatment followed by alkaline treatment also represented the enhanced solubilization compared to ozone treatment. Therefore, ultrasonic or ozone treatment assisted by alkaline could achieve the short treatment time as well as high solubilizetion efficiency.

The efficiency of manure treatment was investigated in terms of the pH, BOD, COD, SS, T-N and TP with a variation in the injection amount of PAC, polymer and ozone. The wastewater flow rate to the AOF is of $7.4m^3/hr$ with a reaction time of 30 minutes. The amount of PAC and polymer changed by 30, 35, 40 ml/min, and 30, 40, 50 ml/min, respectively. The amount of ozone injected varied from 110, 125, and $150kg-O_3/hr$. The optimum manure treatment performance was found for a PAC of 35 ml/min for the COD and SS, with polymer of 30 ml/min, and ozone injection of $150kg-O^3/hr$. A substantially optimum dose for each PAC, polymer, and ozone was also found to exist.

As the pollution of water resources deteriorates due to industrialization and urbanization, it is difficult to supply clean water through a water treatment method using chlorine. Therefore, the introduction of advanced water treatment facilities using ozone is on the increase. However, epoxy which is used as waterproofing and anticorrosives and stainless steel used in conventional waterproofing and anti-corrosive methods have deteriorated because of the strong oxidizing power of ozone, causing problems such as leaking. Moreover, it even causes the durability degradation of a concrete. Therefore, in this study, metal spraying system was used as the means of constructing a metal panel with excellent ozone resistance and chemical resistance which is an easier method than an existing construction method. Ozone resistance was evaluated in accordance with the type of metal sprayed coatings to develop a finishing method which can prevent the concrete structure of water treatment facilities from deterioration. Furthermore, electrochemical stability in actual sewage treatment plant environment was evaluated. Experimental results showed that Ti has superior ozone resistance after spraying and the electrochemical stability in the sewage treatment plant environment showed that Ti has the highest polarization resistance of $403.83k{\cdot}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm^2$, which ensures high levels of durability.
