능동 판토그래프 제어기 설계에 관한 연구 (Design of Active Pantograph Controller)

  • The high investment is necessary for the new high speed lines. So the KRRI has been interested in the possibility of upgrading the existing line in order to speed up the train in the conventional lines. The pantograph in train is indispensable in order to supply the electrification equipments with power in safe. The pantograph and the overhead wire form a dynamic coupled system and they affect each other through the contact force. Unfortunately, as the operational speed of a train increases, the vibration of the pantograph and the overhead wire also increases. This may lead to a zero contact force between the pantograph head and the overhead wire, which can results in the loss of contact, arching and abrasion. If the arching and spark happen between the pantograph and the overhead catenary system, the EMI(electro magnetic interface) and noises may occur. After all, the quality of current collection is deteriorated. This paper describes the dynamic response between the pantograph and catenary system by the numerical simulations and presents the LQ-servo controller to reduce the contact force variation

  • In recent years, there is a growing needs for large capacity underground power transmission lines with the increasing demand of electric power in the urban area, where various environmental limitations are imposed on the overhead transmission lines. But it is difficult to get the space for the underground power transmission cables because of complicated distributions of underground public facilties such as subway, water pipes, gas etc. As the superconducting power cables have the large power transmission capacity, the high power transmission capacity, the high power transmission density, and low loss characteristics in comparison with a conventional cable, it would be a solution to meet the increased power demand. In this paper, the results of the conceptual design and analysis of power system of HTS power transmission cable is described.

Assesment of the Decrement in Tensile Strength of an Overhead Transmission Line's Conductor in Korean Power System

  • The tensile strength of an overhead transmission line's conductor in response to an aging is being assessed in this paper. It is our view that, the decrement in the conductor's tensile strength is a key index that can be used to determine a conductor's end of life and a current limits. This paper describes a probabilistic method of assessing this index for main transmission lines which are responsible for the north bound power flow in the Seoul metropolitan area. Such an assessment can be a useful guide for economic system operation.

  • Live-line maintenance for electric power lines is very dangerous because of their ultra-high voltage environments and the risks of falling from heights. Recently, drone technology has been spotlighted due to its maneuverability and stable controllability, and has been being applied to maintenance works in the electric power industry. This paper presents a new type of drone that can be transformable by introducing biomimetics to its mechanism and can run on an overhead ground wire as well as it can fly. Its technical feasibility was confirmed through experiments.

  • The radio noise produced by corona discharge in high voltage transmission lines is one of the most important line design considerations. Therefore it is necessary for transmission line designers to pre-evaluate radio noise using prediction formulas or field test results. In this paper, more accurate and useful formulas for predicting radio noise during fair and foul weathers in high voltage AC transmission lines were proposed through comparison with the existing formulas. Also it was verified by comparing with the long-term measured data from operating lines that the proposed formulas are more accurate. The proposed prediction formulas are developed by the applications of nonlinear least squares optimization method to radio noise database collected from lines throughout the world.

A Two-bit Bus-Invert Coding Scheme With a Mid-level State Bus-Line for Low Power VLSI Design

  • A new bus-invert coding circuit, called Two-bit Bus-Invert Coding (TBIC) is presented. TBIC partitions a bus into a set of two-bit sub-buses, and applies the bus-invert (BI) algorithm to each sub-bus. Unlike ordinary BI circuits using invert-lines, TBIC does not use an invert-line, so that it sends coding information through a bus-line. To transmit 3-bit information with 2 bus-lines, TBIC allows one bus-line to have a mid-level state, called M-state. TBIC increases the performance of BI algorithm, by suppressing the generation of overhead transitions. TBIC reduces bus transitions by about 45.7%, which is 83% greater than the maximum achievable performance of ordinary BI with invert-lines.

  • This paper presents a ZigBee wireless communication system for remote diagnosis in overhead distribution power lines. The system is divided in three parts in the functional aspect - a host computer module, a remote controller module and a diagnostic system module. The host computer module designed as USB interface transmits control signals and receive data measured by sensor. The remote controller module operates the diagnostic system. Diagnostic system module communicates with internal main controller and host computer USB. Multiple communication channel is adopted for simultaneous operations of several diagnostic system. Dedicated protocol for each module is developed. The system is designed with a focus on low cost and small size suitable for lightweight and small diagnostic system.

154[KV] 가공송전선로 아래에서 전장분포의 측정과 분석 (Measurement and Analysis of Electric Filed Distributions under 154[kV] Overhead Tranamission Lines)

  • 본 노문에서는 154[kv] 가공송전선로의 주변에서 발생하는 극저주파 영역(ELF)의 전장의 측정·분석한 결과에 대해서 기술하였다. 상용주파수와같은 저주파 성분의 검출을 3차원 평행평판형 전장센서를 제작하였으며, IEEE에서 추천하는 실험방법을 적용하여 교정실험을 수행한 바 제작된 전계측정장치의 수파수 대력은 7[Hz]에서 2.7[MHz]이고, 응답 감도는 0.0094[mV/V/m]이었다. 154[kv] 2회선 가공송전선로 아래에서 전장의 실측실험을 수행하고, 그 결과를 분석하였다. 가공송전선 아래에서 의전장의 분포는 주변의 금속 물체 때문에 비대칭 형상을 나타내었으며, 그리고 최대 전계의 세기는 3[kV/m]이하이었다. 본 연구에서의 측정 결과는 관련 여러 국제기관의 제한·권고치를 만족시키고 있다.

병행 배전선로에서의 통신선 유도전압 계산 (Calculation of an Induced Voltage on Telecommunication Lines in Parallel Distribution Lines)

  • Recently, it is common in a distribution system of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) to find instances where distribution lines are parallel. A traditional method of an induced voltage calculation is not suitable for parallel distribution lines. For more actual analysis of induced voltage on telecommunication lines in parallel distribution lines, a new calculation method is needed. This paper presents a new calculation method of an induced voltage on telecommunication line using equivalent ${\pi}$ circuits matrix in parallel distribution lines. The advantages of the calculation method are using actual neutral current value and not using screening factor for considering the overhead ground wire and the neutral wire. To verify the effectiveness and the accuracy of the method, various case studies are performed with EMTP(Electro-Magnetic Transients Program).
