This paper deals with the problem of unfairness among uplink TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) flows associated with frame aggregation employed in IEEE 802.11n WLANs (Wireless Local Area Networks). When multiple stations have uplink TCP flows and transmit TCP data packets to an AP (Access Point), the AP has to compete for channel access with stations for the transmission of TCP ACK (acknowledgement) packets to the stations. Due to this contention-based channel access, TCP ACKs tend to be accumulated in the AP's downlink buffer. We show that the frame aggregation in the MAC (Medium Access Control) layer increases TCP ACK losses in the AP and leads to the serious unfair operation of TCP congestion control. To resolve this problem, we propose the TAC (TCP ACK Compression) mechanism operating at the top of the AP's interface queue. By exploiting the properties of cumulative TCP ACK and frame aggregation, TAC serves only the representative TCP ACK without serving redundant TCP ACKs. Therefore, TAC reduces queue occupancy and prevents ACK losses due to buffer overflow, which significantly contributes to fairness among uplink TCP flows. Also, TAC enhances the channel efficiency by not transmitting unnecessary TCP ACKs. The simulation results show that TAC tightly assures fairness under various network conditions while increasing the aggregate throughput, compared to the existing schemes.

In this study, the lateral overflow discharge coefficients for the curvatures of side weir on meandering channel were analyzed. The side weir installed in accordance with the variation of the radius of curvature of the central angle bends with $180^{\circ}$. FLOW-3D model is applied to calculate the discharge coefficients of the side-weir on meandering and straight channels and the characteristics of the discharge coefficients are analysed. In order to verify the numerical model, the results from the hydraulic experiment conducted by the former research are compared with the results simulated by FLOW-3D in the same conditions. The discharge coefficients are calculated for the ratio between curvature ($R_c$) and channel width (b), and the ratio between over flow discharge of the straight channel ($Q_{wc}$) and the meandering channel ($Q_{wc}$) are compared. As the result, the discharge coefficients depend on the weir depth on upstream, and the radius of curvature, so that the discharge coefficients of side weir on the meandering channel can be estimated by them on the straight channel.

Currently satellite communication systems usually use the ACM(Adaptive Coding and Modulation) to extend the link availability and to increase the bandwidth efficiency. However, when ACM system is used for satellite communications, we should carefully consider TCP congestion control to avoid network congestions. Because MODCODs in ACM are changed to make a packet more robust according to satellite wireless link conditions, bandwidth of satellite forward link is also changed. Whereas TCP has a severe problem to control the congestion window for the changed bandwidth, then packet overflow can be experienced at MAC or PHY interface buffers. This is a reason that TCP in transport layer does not recognize a change of bandwidth capability form MAC or PHY layer. To overcome this problem, we propose the adaptive congestion control scheme of TCP for supporting ACM in Satellite PEP (Performance Enhancing Proxy) systems. Simulation results by using ns-2 show that our proposed scheme can be efficiently adapted to the changed bandwidth and TCP congestion window size, and can be useful to improve TCP performance.
It is widely known that untreated Combined Sewer Overflows (CSOs) that directly discharged from receiving water have a negative impact. Recent concerns on the CSO problem have produced several large scale constructions of treatment facilities, but the facilities are normally designed under empirical design criteria. In this study, several criteria for defining CSOs (e.g. determination of effective rainfall, sampling time, minimum duration of data used for rainfall-runoff simulation and so on) were investigated. Then this study suggested a standard methodology for the CSO calculation and support formalized standard on the design criteria for CSO facilities. Criteria decided for an effective rainfall was over 0.5 mm of total rainfall depth and at least 4 hours should be exist between two different events. An Antecedent dry weather period prior to storm event to satisfy the effective rainfall criteria was over 3 days. Sampling time for the rainfall-runoff model simulation was suggested as 1 hour. A duration of long-term simulation CSO overflow and frequency calculation should be at least recent 10 year data. A Management plan for the CSOs should be established under a phase-in of the plan. That should reflect site-specific conditions of different catchments, and formalized criteria for defining CSOs should be used to examine the management plans.
MFD (Make up Film Deterioration) is a gradual deterioration of applied make up and is a common problem experienced by most foundation users. Our investigation revealed that for 64% of all make up users MFD is their greatest consern is using foundations. Known that the primary cause of MFD is sebum secretion. We observed that the length of time prior to onset of MFD in people who produce high level of sebum varies significantly from person to person. This suggests that other factors besides quantity of sebum production can affect MFD. Control over this factor would, we believe, be key to developing longer-lasting makeups. We studied the relationship between MFD and skin surface conditions. Our study revealed that furrows on the skin surface affect MFD significantly. Sebum reaches the skin surface from sebaceous glands and flows along furrow on the skin. If there are many deep furrows, it takes longer for sebum to overflow. But if the furrows are few or shallow, sebum quickly overflows and spreads over the skin surface where it can degrade the make up film. Therefore even when the volume of sebum produced is the same, the rate of MFD will be different depending on the number and shape of the furrows. A longer-lasting foundation could be produced by matching personal skin condition, but this would be very difficult because individual variations in texture are very large. Therefore we approached the problem by attempting to impose sebum resistance in under make up and foundation. We have developed two new materials and make up products based on our theory. A new fluoroalkyl acrylate-methacrylates copolymer designed for incorporation in under make up is extremely sebum resistant and sweat proof. Another new acrylate polymer designed for inclusion in foundation absorbs sebum and changes to a solid. Usage tests confirm it is possible to reduce MFD by using under make up and foundation which incorporate our new materials to cover where skin furrows are few or shallow

The air-flow dyeing machine is a new type of dyeing machine. Which is an energy saving type to be able to dye the fabrics with the lowest liquor ratio and in shorter time. This machine is operated with an aerodynamic system rather than a hyd raulic system for traditional jet or overflow dyeing. An air-flow dyeing machine(Green-flow) by the use of aerodynamic technology was developed and compared with the Luft-roto machine made by Thies Company, Germany, in this study. Three samples were dyed with both machines under the same dyeing conditions and color fastness, dyeing levelness, drapability, and mechanical properties of these samples were compared. The results were as follows; Both machines have almost the same dyeability. The dyeability was good at liquor ratio of 1: 3.5 and the speed of 450yds/min. The order for drapability was Crepe de Chine > Cool Peach > Charmeuse. Except for the color fastness of sublimation being below class 4, most color fastness of samples dyed with Green-flow m/c were above class 4. The maximum speed was 510yds/min. for Crepe de Chine and the standard deviation of K/S value was lower for Charmeuse and Cool Peach when employed on the "Green-flow" machine and lower for Crepe de Chine when employed on the Luft-roto machine. Comparing with dyeing of the Green-flow machine and that of the Luft-roto machine, the RT of the Charmeuse was found to be higher with the Green-flow machine and thus the sample had an improved wrinkle recovery. LT and WT of Cool Peach were higher, and shear properties(G, 2HG, 2HGS) of Crepe de Chine were higher, both turning out as suitable for clothing. clothing.
Recently, due to the effect of global warming and extreme rainfall, the magnitude of flood disaster and the frequency of flood is rapidly increasing. In order to mitigate the damage of human and property from this kind of meteorological phenomenon and manage water resources scientifically, effective operation of dam and reservoir is very important. In case of Andong dam which was not performed a flood control function needs to develop new types of dam safety management measure because of recent extraordinary flood by typhoons. In case of Andong dam and Imha dam, I am using HEC-5 model in order to apply reservoir simulation. In this case, complex conditions among 100-year floods , 200-year floods and PMF was used. Also, I modified the maximum outflow 3,800m3/s into 3,490m3/s and applied this modified discharge in order to secure freeboard in the downstream. In an analysis that I applied modified outflow by 100-year floods and 200-year floods to, the result showed that river didn't overflow in Andong area but some other places have relatively low freeboard. In the cases that I modified maximum outflow, results showed that freeboard of levee is larger than existed simulation. In the simulation that I applied 200-year floods and PMF to and under a condition connected with PMF, results showed overflowing the levees. Because of the difference between the frequency of dam outflow and the design flood in river, it is required to improve the existed flood plan in the downstream of Andong dam. As a result of this study, the optimal operation of reservoir systems can be proposed to mitigate the flood damage in the downstream of Andong dam and also can be used to establish the flood plans.

In its global meaning language translation refers to the process whereby a program which is executable in one computer can be executed in another computer directly to obtain the same result. There are four different ways of approaching translation. The first way is translation by a Translator or a Compier, the second way is Interpretation, the third way is Simulation, the last way is Emulation. This paper introduces the M-C Translator which was designed as the first way of translation. The MUSS 80 language (the subsystem of the UNIVAC Solid State 80 S-4 assembly language system) was chosen as the source language which includes forty-three instructions, using the CYBER COMPASS as the object language. The M-C translator is a two pass translator and is a two pas translator and es written in Fortran Extended language. For this M-C Translation, seven COMPASS subroutines and a set of thirty-five macros were prepared. Each executable source instruction corresponds to a macro, so it will be a macro instruction within the object profram. Subroutines are used to retain and handle the source data representation the same way in the object program as in the source system, and are used to convert the decimal source data into the equivalent binary result into the equivalent USS-80digits before and after arithmetic operations. The source instructions can be classified into three categories. First, therd are some instructions which are meaningless in the object system and are therefore unnecessary to translate, and the remaining instructions should be translated. Second, There are some instructions are required to indicate dual address portions. Third, there are Three instructions which have overflow conditions, which are lacking in the remaining instructions. The construction and functions of the M-C Translator, are explained including some of the subroutines, and macros. The problems, difficulties and the method of solving them, and easier features on this translation are analysed. The study of how to save memory and time will be continued.

To estimate and forecast runoff by using Aritifitial Neaural Networks model (ANNs). it has been studied in Thailand for the past 10 years. The model was developed in order to be conformed with the conditions in which the collected dataset is short and the amount of dataset is inadequate. Every year, the Northerpart of Thailand faces river overflow and flood inundation. The most important basin in this area is Yom basin. The purpose of this study is to forecast runoff at Y.14 gauge station (Si-Satchanalai district, Sukhothai province) for 3 days in advance. This station located at the upstream area of Yom River basin. Daily rainfall and daily runoff from Royal Irrigation Department and Meteorological Department during flood period 2000-2012 were used as input data. In order to check an accuracy of forecasting, forecasted runoff were compared with observed data by pursuing Nash Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) and Coefficient of Determination ($R^2$). The result of the first day gets the highest accuracy and then decreased in day 2 and day 3, consequently. NSE and $R^2$ values for frist day of runoff forecasting is 0.76 and 0.776, respectively. On the second day, those values are 0.61 and 0.65, respectively. For the third day, the aforementioned valves are 0.51 and 0.52, respectively. The results confirmed that the ANNs model can be used when the range of collected dataset is short and insufficient. In conclusion, the ANNs model is suitable for applying during flood incident because it is easy to use and does not require numerous parameters for simulating.

Application of newly conceptualized Anti-Splash Devices designed for COT vent pipes were studied on a P/V valve located on the upper deck of an oil carrier vessel. Anti-Splash devices are used in the shipbuilding industry in order to avoid oil overflow and spray accidents caused by excess pressure and vacuum condition in the cargo oil tanks. These conditions are caused by the transverse and longitudinal sloshing forces that arise from ship motion during sea voyages. The main issue with existing Anti-Splash device model is flux at the outlet of the Anti-Splash Device, and so, new conceptual models for the Anti-Splash device were developed and compared to existing Anti-Splash device model using CFD analysis. Transient analysis was used to capture the flow and velocity of each model and a comparative analysis was performed between old and new-concept models. This data was used to determine the optimal design parameters in order to develop an optimized Anti-Splash Device. A Factory acceptance test was performed on the new-concept models in order to verify the performance and efficiency against their design requirements and other criterion. The final step performed was to apply the optimized Anti-Splash Device models for COT vent pipes to an actual vessel and verify performance through a seawater cargo operation during a sea voyage as per the ship owner's request. The patent for the aforementioned device was obtained by the Korean Intellectual property Office dated Dec. 18th,2014.
