마인드 맵을 활용한 수업이 중학생들의 창의력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Mind Mapping Applied in Science Classes on Middle School Students' Creativity)

  • This study was designed to investigate whether applying mind mapping in a biology class had an effect on students' creativity. Participants of this study were 165 1st grade middle school students. The pretest-post test control group design was employed. A control group was instructed with a traditional method and an exerimental group was instructed using the mind-map applied method. The units "Digestion and Circulation" and "Respiration and Excretion" were selected for this study, and each group was treated for 24 class hours. To measure student creativity, the TTCT test was used. For assessing students' level of logical thinking, the compact version of GALT was used. Test results were analyzed by ANCOVA and correlation analysis by SPSS 12.0. The creativity of students in experimental group was significantly improved than the control group (p< .01). Fluency, flexibility, and originality of students in experimental group were improved (p< .01). Students did not show any differences on creativity according to their academic achievement level or gender (p> .05) in the experimental group. Students did not show any differences on creativity according to their logical thinking level (p> .05), either. However, the students of logical thinking level in the experimental group improved their flexibility (p< .05). There was no correlation between students' creativity and their achievement (p> .05), but the creativity shows a lower correlation to performance evaluation (p< .05).

  • 확산적 표현력은 사고나 사상, 개념 등을 여러 개의 다른 의미를 지닌 상징으로 전환하여 표현해 내는 능력으로 Torrance의 창의력 검사영역(fluency, flexibility, originality) 중 융통성에 해당되는 표현의 넓이를 의미한다. 본 연구는 확산적 표현 능력을 향상시키기 위한 학습 프로그램을 개발하고, 디자인을 전공하는 학습자를 대상으로 훈련의 효과가 있는가를 연구하는 것이 목적이다. 훈련 프로그램은 Eskild Tjalve의 이론을 기초로 6개의 단계로 되어 있으며, 단계별 매개 변수는 element, function, number, arrange, form geometric, size이며 각 단계는 2주씩 훈련하도록 하여 총 12주로 구성하였다. 연구는 산업디자인과목 수강 대학생 저학년을 대상으로 하여 40명을 선정하고, 연구의 결과를 효과적으로 측정하기 위하여 실험집단과 통제집단으로 구성하여 훈련을 수행하였다. 학습자들의 학습결과를 객관적으로 평가를 위해 표준화된 창의력 검사지를 사용하였다. 연구결과에서 개발된 훈련 프로그램은 훈련 대상자인 실험집단이 비교대상인 통제집단보다 창의력 향상이 높게 나타났으며 훈련의 효과가 있음이 입증되었다.

유아의 창의성과 놀이성, 다중지능과의 관계 (The relationship between children's creativity, playfulness and multiple intelligence)

  • The early childhood is a pivotal period for the development of creativity since creative imaginary is rich at the age from 4 to 4.5 years old, The purpose of this study is to examine the relationships between children's creativity, playfulness and multiple intelligence. 91 children(41 boy, 50 girls) attending preschool in jeon-ju city were participated in this research, The age of children was 6 years(average 73.7 months), After collecting the data to find the connections between children's creativity, playfulness and multiple intelligence from the subjects' data using the SPSS WIN 10.0 program, along with t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's correlation in this paper. 1. There was significant correlation between children's playfulness and creativity. Intelligence spontaneousness the element of the playfulness has a correlation with Creativity strengths, Elaboration. In addition, Resistance to Premature Closure has a correlation with social spontaneity, And Originality has a correlation with the Expression of Pleasure the element of the playfulness, 2. There was a significant positive correlation between children's multiple intelligence(MI) and creativity, Fluency the element of creativity has a correlation with Interpersonal intelligence the element of multiple intelligence: And Originality has a correlation with Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, Intrapersonal intelligence the element of MI. In addition, Abstraction of Titles has a correlation with Intrapersonal intelligence. 3. There was a little correlation between children's MI and playfulness. The Expression of Pleasure has a correlation with bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, Based on the current study, the relationships between creativity, playfulness, and multiple intelligence could be identified. Especially, creativity was significantly correlated with playfulness and multiple intelligence of early childhood. Therefore, it was found that creativity of toddler might be essential factor for the development of toddler's cognitivity.

과학영재들은 어떻게 사고하는가 (How Do Scientifically Gifted Students Think)

  • 본 연구는 현재 과학 영재 교육 프로그램에 참가하고 있는 266명의 과학 영재들을 대상으로 Sternberg(1988, 1990)의 정신자치제 이론에 기초한 사고양식 검사 도구를 사용하여 그들의 사교양식의 특성을 밝히고, 사고양식과 지능 및 창의성과의 관계를 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 과학영재들은 일반 학생들 보다 자유주의적이고 입법적인 성향, 그리고 사법적인 성향을 두드러지게 나타났다. 이러한 경향은 집행적이고 보수적의적인 성향보다 창의적이고 비판적인 사고에 적합한 양식이라고 할 수 있다. 또한 사고양식은 지능검사 및 과학적 탐구능력과는 거의 관계가 없었지만, 창의성 검사와는 부분적인 상관을 보여 주었다. 즉 자유주의적인 성향이 강한 학생들은 TTCT검사의 독창성에서 높은 점수를 받았고, 유창성은 보수주의적인 경향성과 부적인 상관을 보였다. 또한 사법적인 양식은 독창성 및 융통성과 긍정적인 상관이 있었다. 본 연구를 통해서 과학 영재들의 사고양식의 경향성을 파악할 수 있었으며, 이러한 점을 고려하여 과학 영재교육에 시사점을 제공하였다.

유아원 아동의 창의력과 수학개념의 성취에 대한 개방수업방식과 지시수업방식의 비교 (A Comparison of open and Directed Teaching Styles on Creativity and Achievement in Mathematical Concepts of Nursery School Chidren)

  • This study compared the effects of open and directed teaching styles on creativity and mathematical achievement. The subjects were 32 three- and four-year-old children enrolled in the Home Economics Laboratory Nursery School at the University of Arkansas during the fall semester of 1987. In this study, the open teaching style was a child-oriented method of teaching with the help or guidance rather than the actual instruction of teacher, while the directed teaching style was a teacher-oriented method of teaching with actual instruction of the teacher. Forty-eight activities and materials relevant to mathematical concepts appropriately designed for the subjects were used. The nursery school children were divided into morning and afternoon groups. Utilizing a Latin square design, the children in the morning group were taught by the directed teaching style for four weeks followed by a three week period of no planned mathematical activities, then taught by the open teaching style for four weeks. The children in the afternoon group followed the same schedule except the open teaching style was first. At the end of the two four-week sessions of mathematics experiences Thinking Creatively in Action and Movement and selected items of Tests of Basic Experiences 2: Mathematics were administered. The scores of each of the two tests were analyzed using a t-test of dependent measures for the two teaching styles, the sex, and the age of the children. Children taught using the directed teaching style showed a significantly higher originality and mathematical achievement scores than those taught using the open teaching style. Differences for sex and age revealed that the directed teaching style was a significantly better method of instruction to foster the originality for boys and the mathematical achievement for four-year-old children.

직관적 및 체계적 자유연상기법이 개념설계과정에서 고등학생 집단의 창의성 향상에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Intuitive Free Association and Systematic Free Association on the Creativity of High School Students Group in the Conceptual Design Process)

  • 본 연구는 직관적 자유연상기법과 체계적 자유연상기법이 개념설계과정에서 고등학생 집단의 창의성에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위한 것으로서, 첫 번째는 직관적 자유연상기법이 개념설계과정에서 고등학생 집단의 창의성에 미치는 효과를 구명하는 것이고 두 번째는 체계적 자유연상기법이 개념설계과정에서 고등학생 집단의 창의성에 미치는 효과를 구명하는 것이며 세 번째는 직관적 자유연상기법과 체계적 자유연상기법이 개념설계과정에서 고등학생 집단의 창의성에 미치는 효과의 차이를 비교하여 창의성 증진에 각 기법이 미치는 효과의 차이를 통계적으로 비교 구명하는 것이다. 실험설계는 이질통제집단 사전 사후검사 설계로서 인천광역시의 OO고등학교 1학년 6개 학급 172명을 대상으로 실험집단A, 실험집단B를 구성하였다. 이 연구에 사용된 '개념설계 문제' 와 '창의성 표현 검사지 A', '창의성 표현 검사지 B', 그리고 '창의성 평가 척도' 는 다양한 문헌과 전문가의 타당성을 거쳐 연구자가 개발한 것으로 평가자간 상관계수를 통하여 신뢰성을 확보하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 직관적 자유연상기법이 고등학생 집단의 '창의성'과 하위요인인 '독창성', '유용성', '정교성', '유창성'을 증진시키는 매우 효과적인 기법임을 확인 할 수 있었다. 둘째, 체계적 자유연상기법이 고등학생 집단의 '창의성'과 하위요인인 '독창성', '유용성', '정교성', '유창성'을 증진시키는 매우 효과적인 기법임을 확인 할 수 있었다. 셋째, 고등학생 집단의 개념설계에 있어서 창의성의 하위요인인 '유용성'의 증진에 있어서는 체계적 자유연상기법이 직관적 자유연상기법보다 더 효과적인 기법임이 증명되었다.

PEOE 수업모형을 적용한 수업이 학습자의 장·단기 파지 및 정의적 영역에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of PEOE-Based Class on Learners' Long- and Short-Term Retention and Affective Area)

  • The purpose of this study is to apply the PEOE class model that can enhance students' scientific creative problem-solving ability and self-directed learning ability in the middle school science subject and analyze the effects of it on students' long- and short-term retention, scientific creative problem-solving ability, and self-directed learning characteristics. And the paper has gained the following results: First, according to the result of analysis through the pre-test, post-test, and delay test to examine the effects of PEOE-based class on learners' long- and short-term retention, it is found to be statistically significant in the significant level of .05. In other words, the class using PEOE influences learners' short-term retention significantly, but it is even more effective in transmitting the concept that students acquire into their long-term memory. Second, according to the result of analysis through the pre-test and post-test to examine the effects of PEOE-based class on learners' scientific creative problem-solving ability, it is found to be statistically significant in the significant level of .05 in general. However, 'elaboration' and 'originality', the subfactors of scientific creative problem-solving ability, do not indicate significant effects. Third, according to the result of analysis through the pre-test and post-test to examine the effects of PEOE-based class on learners' self-directed learning characteristics, it is found to be statistically significant in the significant level of .05 as a whole. However, 'openness' and 'future-oriented self-understanding', the subfactors of self-directed learning characteristics, do not exert significant effects. Based on the above study results, it can be concluded that PEOE-based class is more effective for learners' academic achievement in science, scientific creative problem-solving ability, and self-directed learning characteristics than lecture-method instruction regarding the middle school science unit of 'The Properties of Air and Weather Change'.

유아의 정보처리유형과 창의성간의 관계연구 (A Study on the Relationships Between Children's Information Processing Style and Creativity)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships between children's information processing style and creativity. The subjects were 40 5-year-old kindergarten students in Busan. The K-ABC (Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children, 1987) test and Torrance's TTCT were used to examine the relationships between children's information processing style and creativity. This analysis showed no significant correlation between information processing style and creativity. On the other hand, the sequential processing style affected fluency and the simultaneous processing style affected originality, elaboration, and abstractness of titles.

  • This research investigated the effect of story-plotting and oral narration activities using wordless picture books upon young children's linguistic creativity and expression. The subjects were 30 children of experimental group and another 30 in the control group at age five. The Korean Comprehensive Creativity Test for Young Children(K-CCTYC; Jeon, 2005) was used to measure linguistic creativity. In addition, Measure Tools for Linguistic Ability(Jang, 1981) was used to measure the linguistic expression. There were significant differences between the two groups in linguistic creativity including linguistic fluency, flexibility, and originality as well as linguistic expression.

초등학교 아동의 과학 창의적 문제 해결과 인지 전략과의 관계 (The Relationship between Creative Problem Solving in Science and Cognitive Strategies in Elementary School Students)

  • This study investigated the relationship between elementary school students' creative problem solving skills in terms of science and cognitive strategies. Creative problem solving in science was measured by 4 variables; appropriateness, scientific ability, concreteness, and originality. Cognitive strategies were measured by 6 variables; surface(rehearsal), deep(elaboration and organization), and metacognitive strategies(planning, monitoring, and regulating). The KEDI Creative Problems Solving Test in Science(Cho et al., 1997) and the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire(Pintrich & DeGroot, 1990) were administered to 72 subjects. Data were analyzed by means of Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. Our findings indicated a positive correlation between creative problem solving in science and cognitive strategies. The surface cognitive strategy (rehearsal) positively predicted the total score, the scientific ability's score, the concrete score, and the original score of creative problem solving in science. The deep cognitive strategy(organization) positively predicted the appropriate score and the metacognitive strategy(planning) positively predicted the original score of scientific creative problem solving skills.
