An efficient algorithm for planning near-optimum trajectory of manipulators is proposed. The algorithm is divided into two stages. The first one is the optimization of time trajectory with given spatial path. And the second one is the optimization of the spatial path itself. To consider the second problem, the manipulator dynamics is represented using the path parameter "s", then a differential equation corresponding to the dynamics is solved as two point boundary value problem. In this procedure, the gradient method is used to calculate improved input torques.t torques.

We develop a new method of simultaneous optimization of trajectory and shape of redundant flexible manipulators for collision-free utilizing the B-spline function and a mathematical programming method We adopt an approximate flexible manipulator model which consists of rigid bar elements and spring elements. We use B-spline function for determining the approximate trajectory and the expressions of the outline of obstacles. The used total performance index consists of 2 performance indices. The first is the driving energy, and the second is the trajectory deviation which is caused by the approximate modeling for the flexible manipulator. We design optimal collision-free trajectory of flexible manipulators by searching optimum positions of the control points for B-spline approximation which minimize the performance index subject to constraint condition for collision-free. Some examinations through numerical examples show the effectiveness of the method

This paper presents an effective trajectory planning algorithm for industrial robot manipulators. Given the end-effector trajectory in Cartesian space, together with the relevant constraints and task specifications, the proposed method is capable of planning the optimum end-effector trajectory. The proposed trajectory planning algorithm considers the joint acceleration limit, end-effector velocity limits, and trajectory allowance. A feedforward compensator is also incorporated in the proposed algorithm to counteract the delay in joint dynamics. The algorithm is carefully designed so that it can be directly adopted with the existing industrial manipulators. The proposed algorithm can be easily programmed for various tasks given the specifications and constraints. A three-dimensional test trajectory was planned with the proposed algorithm and tested with the Performer MK3s industrial manipulator. The results verified effective manipulator performance within the constraints.

Recently, the demand for micro hard disk drive that provides high-capacity removable storage for handhold electronic devices is growing very rapidly Reducing power consumption is one of the primary control objectives in micro disk drives. The input power delivered to the seek servo system is consumed as heat by the transistors of power amplifier and motor coil resistance. In this paper, we present a new seek servo controller for minimizing the power consumption. We use a Fourier decomposition and nonlinear programming to determine the optimum seek profile that minimizes the power consumption. Also, the trajectory tracking controller is developed for exact tracking of the optimum seek profile. Finally, we present some experimental results using a commercially available micro disk drive in order to demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed controller.
Massive volumes of GPS trajectory data bring challenges to storage and processing. These issues can be addressed by compression algorithm which can reduce the size of the trajectory data. A key requirement for GPS trajectory compression algorithm is to reduce the size of the trajectory data while minimizing the loss of information. Synchronized Euclidean distance (SED) as an important error measure is adopted by most of the existing algorithms. In order to further reduce the SED error, an improved algorithm for open window time ratio (OPW-TR) called local optimum open window time ratio (LO-OPW-TR) is proposed. In order to make SED error smaller, the anchor points are selected by calculating point's accumulated synchronized Euclidean distance (ASED). A variety of error metrics are used for the algorithm evaluation. The experimental results show that the errors of our algorithm are smaller than the existing algorithms in terms of SED and speed errors under the same compression ratio.

In this paper, at first, we investigate existing algorithms for finding the minimum infinity-norm solution of consistent linear equations and then propose a new algorithm. The proposed algorithm is intended to includes the advantages of computational efficiency as well as geometric explicitness. As a practical application example, optimum trajectory planning for redundant robot manipulators is considered. Also, an efficient approach avoiding discontinuity in trajectory is proposed by resolving the non-uniqueness problem of minimum infinity-norm solution. To be specific, the proposed method for checking possible discontinuity does not need any other algorithms in checking the possibility of discontinuity while previous work needs specially designed checking courses. To show the usefulness of the proposed techniques, an example calculating minimum infinity-norm solution for comparing the computational efficiency as well as the trajectory planning for a redundant robot manipulator are included.

Three-dimensional trajectory of fluid particle is simulated by a particle motion, which is able to examine the influences of changes in the several parameters. To calculate the trajectory of a particle, the Runge-Kutta method was utilized. The use of a projectile of particles for the trajectory of liquid jet has been shown to be useful to estimate the influence of different operating parameters such as best particle diameter, density of liquid body, initial take-off velocity, wind velocity, cross wind velocity, take-off angle, and base angle for a released flow from the nozzle. The results give the trajectories of various types of particle of body and at different elevations, base angles, wind velocities and densities of liquid body. The trajectories in a vacuum show that air resistances decreases both the distance and the maximum height of a projectile, and also explain that the termination time is also reduced in air. In addition, the maximum distance in the x direction was obtained with take-off angles from 30 degrees to 45 degrees in still air and the projectile of particles was highly effected by wind and cross wind. Clearly, a particle has to be so positioned as to take the optimum possible advantage of the wind if the maximum distances is requested. The wind astern increased the maximum distances of x direction compared with the wind ahead. Finally, it is possible to optimize the design of pump by using these results.

This paper studies the voltage angle control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs). For voltage angle control, the optimum voltage angle trajectory according to the operating speed is researched while the voltage and current limit conditions are considered. Through research, two different optimum voltage angle trajectories that depend on the design of IPMSMs were found. The IPMSM drive based on a voltage angle control that follows such trajectory is proposed. Unlike the conventional voltage angle control method, which is applied only in the flux-weakening region, the proposed voltage angle control can be implemented in all operation ranges from low to high speed. The proposed method is verified by experiments using a DSC controller for 800 W IPMSM.

In this paper it is purpose that reduces joint torques and their rate of change through optimizing trajectory planning of biped walking machine. The motion of biped walking machine is divided into leg motion for walking and body motion for keeping balance. The leg motion is planned by three phases, that are deploy, swing, and place phases, in terms of the state of foot against floor. The distribution of time assigned to each phase is optimized and that causes leg joint torques and their rate of change to minimize. The body notion is produced by using optimal control theory which minimizes body joint torques and satisfies Z.M.P. constraints defined as region of each phase.

A dynamic modeling, analysis, and optimum design issuess for the Hybrid type of robot are addressed. The dynamic modeling can be used to describe acceleration and velocity properties of the system explicitly in terms of the actuating forces is coded in C language based on the kinematic influence coefficients(KIC). By using this modeling simulation, the actuating forces needed for the robot follows the given trajectory are calculated. Also, for the design concept, the optimum geometric configuration of the system that minimizes the maximum actuating forces is found by using the optimization techique.
