Effect of Application Time of Liquid Pig Manure on Growth and Nutrient Production of Green Manure Crops (돈분액비의 시용시기가 녹비작물의 생육과 양분생산에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to obtain the optimum application time of liquid pig manure (LPM) for growth and nutrient contents of green manure crops (GMCs), the growth and nutrient characteristics of GMCs were evaluated under different application times of LPM in pot experiment. GMCs were sown in Sept. 1, 2012. LPM was treated in soil surface at 15 days before sowing (15DBS), at 0 days after sowing (ASD) and at 25 days after sowing (25DAS). At 60 days after seeding, plant heights of barley and hairy vetch were higher in 15DBS treatment than those in other treatments. Biomass of barley was higher in the order of 15DBS (50.2g plant-1) > ASD (49.8g plant-1) > 25DAS (48.5g plant-1) > control treatment (37.5g plant-1). Biomass of hairy vetch in 15DBS treatment was higher than that in other treatments. Nutrient contents of barley and hairy vetch were not different regardless of LPM application times. On the other hand, the amounts of nutrients uptake in 15DBS treatment were higher than those in other treatments. Therefore, in considering growth status and nutrient contributions of GMC, the optimum application time of LPM was 15DBS.

Indirect Cost Effects on Life-Cycle-Cost Effective Optimum Design of Steel Box Girder Bridge (강상자형교의 LCC 최적설계에 미치는 간접비용의 영향)

  • This paper presents the effects of indirect costs on Life-Cycle-Cost(LCC) effective optimum design of steel-box girder bridges. The LCC formulations considered in the LCC optimization of the bridges consist of initial cost and expected rehabilitation costs including repair/replacement costs, loss of contents or fatality and injury losses, and indirect costs such as road user costs and indirect socio-economic losses. To demonstrate the LCC-effectiveness for optimum design of the bridges, an actual steel box girder bridge having two continuous spans(2@50m=100m) is considered as a numerical example. And also, in this paper, various sensitivity analyses are performed to investigate the effects of indirect costs caused by traffic conditions such as number of detour route, number of lane on detour route, length of detour route, and traffic volumes on the LCC-effective optimum design. From the numerical investigations, it may be concluded that indirect costs caused by traffic network may sensitively influence on the LCC-effective optimum design of steel-box girder bridges. Therefore, it may be stated that the traffic conditions should be considered as one of the important items in the LCC-effective optimum design of the bridges.

Optimization of Fermentation Conditions for Burdock Vinegar Using Response Surface Methodology (반응표면분석법을 이용한 우엉식초 발효조건 최적화)

  • In this study, we optimized fermentation conditions for burdock vinegar by response surface methodology. We confirmed the fermentation characteristics and major components of burdock vinegar. Alcohol fermentation of burdock extract added with 15% apple concentrates for vinegar production was performed. Consequently, 6.4% alcohol was produced after 5 days of fermentation. Central composite design was applied to investigate the effects of two independent variables, fermentation time (5~17 days; X1) and fermentation temperature ($26{\sim}34^{\circ}C$; X2), on fermentation of burdock vinegar. Fermentation conditions were optimized using characteristics of fermentation broth as a dependent variable. Acetic acid contents of dependent variables were 3.85~4.73% during acetic acid fermentation. The correlation coefficient ($R^2$) of the derived equation from the response surface regression for acetic acid contents was 0.9850 with significance level of 1%. Arctiin contents of all fermentation samples were 0.37~0.50 mg/100 mL, with an $R^2$ value of 0.8380 and significance level of 5%. We elicited a regression equation for each variable and superimposed the optimum area of fermentation conditions for characteristics and effective constituent contents of the fermentation broth. The predicted values for the optimum fermentation conditions for burdock vinegar were at $31^{\circ}C$ and 16 days.

As a result of this study for future tourism using geo spatial information and analysis of 3D modeling by intelligent land information indirectly, with quite a few stereo site experience and a variety of tourist spatial acquisition and utilization of information could prove.

Preparation of Yeast Extract from Waste Brewer's Yeast using Various Enzymes (각종 효소를 이용한 맥주 폐효모로부터 효모추출물 제조)

  • This study was performed to investigate the optimum process conditions for manufacturing yeast extract from waste brewer's yeast using various enzymes. Contents of IMP, GMP, free amino acids, and crude protein of yeast extracts were measured by enzymes treatment. Crude protein contents of yeast extracts subjected to cell wall digestion enzyme treatment were 21.1, 33.6, and 28.0% for the control grouup, glucanase (0.5%, 12 h), and tunicase (1%, 18 h), respectively. Crude protein contents of yeast extracts subjected to protease treatment were 22.0, 30.8, and 29.8% for control group, bromelin (1%, 3 h), and protamex (1%, 3 h), respectively. Crude protein content of yeast extract subjected to glucanase and protamex mixed treatment was 34.4%. The total contents of IMP and GMP of yeast extracts subjected to G+P+A (glucanase+phosphodiesterase+adenyldeminase) and G+Pro+P+A (glucanase+protamex+phosphodiesterase+adenyldeaminase) treatments were 1,066 and 1,047 mg/100 g, respectively. The content of free amino acids of yeast extract was the highest (2,302 mg/100 g) in G+Pro+P+A treatment. Optimum concentration and process condition of enzyme treatment to obtain yeast extract with high IMP, GMP, and free amino acid content were in the order of glucanase (0.5%, 12 h), protamex (1%, 3h), phosphodiesterase (0.1%, 3 h) and adenyldeaminase (1%, 1.5 h) treatments.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of ozone gas on paddy rice at the different nutrition levels. Jinjubyeo variety of rice plant was exposed to 0.3 ppm ozone gas for 3 hours. It was cultivated at three different application levels, optimum, -50%, and +50% of optimum of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, respectively. After ozone gas fumigation, percentage of damaged leaf, malondialdehyde contents, activity of peroxidase, and nutrient contents of rice plant were observed. The results obtained are as follows. 1) Percentage of damaged leaf was increased at the both additional 50% application of nitrogen and 50% reduction of potassium. 2) Malondialdehyde contents of leaves were increased with the ozone gas exposure. 3) Percentage of damaged leaf was increased at the lower level of $K_2O/N$ ratio in leaves. 4) Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium contents in rice leaves were decreased with the ozone gas exposure. 5) The peroxidase bands on gel in electrophoresis were changed by the ozone gas exposure.

Internet Access Charging under High Quality Contents Delivery (고품질 콘텐츠 제공환경하에서 인터넷 접속료 책정방안)

  • This paper analyzes internet access model between ISP, CP and end users where CP uses various technologies to provide direct access to ISP owning subscribers to consume its own contents in low cost and high quality. The level of access charge depends on the competitiveness of CP market. When CP market is perfect competitive, the level of access charge is identical to that of social optimum while when CP market is monopoly, the level of access charge is influenced by the sensitivity of the contents price to access charge for CP. The dead weight loss due to monopoly market in CP can be removed by the regulation of access charge. Socially optimal access charge in monopoly market of CP is lower than that in competitive market. This is because the regulator wants to set access price to lower level to reduce welfare loss from monopoly in CP market where CP determines the price to over marginal cost.

Quality Characteristics of Porridge Containing Rice incubated with Phellinus linteus Mycelium (상황버섯균사체 쌀을 이용한 죽의 품질특성)

  • In this study, we investigated the quality characteristics and optimum conditions of porridge containing rice incubated with Phellinus linteus mycelium (PLMR). Composition measurements of PLMR were moisture 13.05%, ash 0.88%, carbohydrate 78.65%, crude protein 6.29%, and crude lipid 1.13%, also glutinous rice composition was moisture 13.99%, ash 0.32%, carbohydrate 77.18%, crude protein 7.85%, and crude lipid 0.66%. The water absorption rate of PLMR increased with increasing soaking time during 6 hours. However, the water absorption rate of glutinous rice increased until 30 minutes of soaking time. The pH of porridge was decreased as PLMR contents increased. The viscosity of porridge was increased as PLMR contents increased, and it was the lowest for the control at 914.77 cP. However, spreadability of porridge was decreased as PLMR contents increased. In terms of color, lightness was the highest for the 50% level, redness was the highest for the 75% level, and yellowness was the highest for the 25% level. In terms of textural characteristics, hardness and fracturability were increased as PLMR contents increased, whereas springiness, cohesiveness and resilience showed reverse results. In terms of consumer acceptance, flavor, appearance, viscosity, delicate taste, and overall acceptability were not significantly different between samples. Hot taste was decreased as PLMR contents increased, whereas grittiness showed reverse results. In conclusion, the results indicate that adding 25~50% PLMR to porridge is optimal for a recipe.

Effective Component Contents and Antioxidative Activities of Unripe Apple by Extraction Methods (추출방법에 따른 미숙사과 추출물의 유용성분 함량 및 항산화 활성)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum extraction method suitable for the availability of biological activities in unripe apples known to be rich in functional components. Unripe apples 'Hongro' picked on May 28th, 2019 were extracted by various extraction methods (hot water, ethanol, enzymatic pre-treatment, ultrasonic wave, and subcritical water) and their extracts were investigated yield, effective component contents, and antioxidant activities. Overall, the yields by the extraction solvent were higher in water than in organic solvent(ethanol) because water-soluble compounds were eluted from a polar solvent. Total phenol contents of the ultrasonic wave (ethanol) extracts were significantly higher in 6 times than hot water extract. Contents of flavonoid were highest in the ethanol extract at 29.14 mg QE/g. Contents of tannin and ursolic acid were also significantly higher in the ultrasonic wave (ethanol) extract. The DPPH radical and ABTS radical scavenging activities were the strongest in the ultrasonic wave (ethanol) extract. Correlation between effective components and antioxidant activities was high in the total phenol content with ABTS and the ursolic acid content with DPPH (p<0.01). The above results suggested that ultrasonic wave (ethanol) extract of unripe apples has the potential to act as a functional material.

Nondestructive Determination of Sugar Contents in Shingo Pears with Different Temperature

  • The affect of surface temperatures of fruits on spectrum which measures actual sugar contents was observed. PLSR was applied to develop the sugar content evaluation system that was not affected by temperature. The reflected spectrum was used at the wavelengths of 654 and 1052nm with the separation distance of 2.5nm. To increase the conformance of a model using unknown samples, let the minimum value of PRESS be an optimum factor. 71 Shingo pears stored in a refrigerator were left in a room temperature for a while and these temperatures and reflected spectrums were measured. Reflected spectrums were measured at the wavelengths of 654 and 1052nm, 3 samples in one second. To measure these at different temperatures, the experiment was repeated hourly and four times. Starting temperatures of 2-3 were increased up to 17. The total number of measured spectrum was 284. To develop a sugar content evaluation system model using measured reflected spectrum, three groups of samples were considered. First group had 51 samples at 14 and second group had 141 samples with lower or higher temperatures than 14. Third group had 155 samples with well distributed temperatures. Other samples were used as validations to ensure the conformance. Measuring the sugar contents of samples with surface temperatures other than 14 were difficult with PLS model I, developed by using a sample temperature of 14. If the sugar contents were compensated using samples' temperatures, results of prediction would be close to the expected results and it would be one of the most important factors to develop this system. PLS models I and II could compensate the temperature but the precision would not come up to the standard. High precision was expected by using samples with wide ranges of temperatures and sugar contents. Both models showed the possibility of an improvement of a sugar content evaluation system disregarding the temperature. For practical use of a system, selecting samples should be done carefully to reduce the effect of the temperature.
