  • In this paper, we put forward a delay-aware secure maximum distance separable (MDS) coded caching scheme to resist the eavesdropping attacks for device-to-device (D2D) content sharing by combining MDS coding with distributed caching. In particular, we define the average system delay to show the potential coupling of delay-content awareness, and learn the secure constraints to ensure that randomly distributed eavesdroppers cannot obtain enough encoded packets to recover their desired contents. Accordingly, we model such a caching problem as an optimization problem to minimize the average system delay with secure constraints and simplify it to its convex relaxation. Then we develop a delay-aware secure MDS coded caching algorithm to obtain the optimal caching policy. Extensive numerical results are provided to demonstrate the excellent performance of our proposed algorithm. Compared with the random coded caching scheme, uniform coded caching scheme and popularity based coded caching scheme, our proposed scheme has 3.7%, 3.3% and 0.7% performance gains, respectively.

  • Network Mobility Basic Support (NEMO BS) protocol has been accredited and approved by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) working group for mobility of sub-networks. Trains, aircrafts and buses are three examples of typical applications for this protocol. The NEMO BS protocol was designed to offer Internet access for a group of passengers in a roaming vehicle in an adequate fashion. Furthermore, in NEMO BS protocol, specific gateways referred to Mobile Routers (MRs) are responsible for carrying out the mobility management operations. Unfortunately, the main limitations of this basic solution are pinball suboptimal routing, excessive signaling cost, scalability, packet delivery overhead and handoff latency. In order to tackle shortcomings of triangular routing and Quality of Service (QoS) deterioration, the proposed scheme (Diff-FH NEMO) has previously evolved for end-users in moving network. In this sense, the article focuses on an exhaustive analytic evaluation at Home Agent (HA) entity of the proposed solutions. An investigation has been conducted on the signaling costs to assess the performance of the proposed scheme (Diff-FH NEMO) in comparison with the standard NEMO BS protocol and MIPv6 based Route Optimization (MIRON) scheme. The obtained results demonstrate that, the proposed scheme (Diff-FH NEMO) significantly improves the signaling cost at the HA entity in terms of the subnet residence time, number of mobile nodes, the number of DMRs, the number of LFNs and the number of CNs.

  • For successfully commercialized grid systems, it is required to provide an efficient scheduling scheme which is able to optimize benefits for three participants such as consumers, brokers, and providers so that every participant has sufficient benefit to maintain a sustainable market. In this paper, we define this job scheduling problem as an objective optimization problem for three participants. The three objectives are to maximize the success rate of job execution, total achieved profit, and the system utilization. To address the scheduling problem, we propose heuristics referred to as SLA-aware scheduling scheme (SA) for optimal resource allocation. The simulation results show that the improvement and the effectiveness of the proposed scheme and the proposed scheme can outperform well-known scheduling schemes such as first come first serve (FCFS), shortest job first (SJF), and earliest deadline first (EDF).

  • Offering of different attractive opportunities by different wireless technologies trends the convergence of heterogeneous networks for the future wireless communication system. To make a seamless handover among the heterogeneous networks, the optimization of the power consumption, and optimal selection of interface are the challenging issues. The access of multi interfaces simultaneously reduces the handover latency and data loss in heterogeneous handover. The mobile node (MN) maintains one interface connection while other interface is used for handover process. However, it causes much battery power consumption. In this paper we propose an efficient interface selection scheme including interface selection algorithms, interface selection procedures considering battery power consumption and user mobility with other existing parameters for overlaying networks. We also propose a priority based network selection scheme according to the service types. MN‘s battery power level, provision of QoS/QoE and our proposed priority parameters are considered as more important parameters for our interface selection algorithm. The performances of the proposed scheme are verified using numerical analysis.

  • This article presents an optimum yaw moment distribution scheme for a vehicle with electronic stability control (ESC) and active rear steering (ARS). After computing the control yaw moment in the yaw moment controller, it should be distributed into tire forces, generated by ESC and ARS. In this paper, yaw moment distribution is formulated as an optimization problem. New objective function is proposed to tune the relative magnitudes of the tire forces. Weighed pseudo-inverse control allocation (WPCA) is adopted to solve the problem. To check the effectiveness of the proposed scheme, simulation is performed on a vehicle simulation package, CarSim. From the simulation, the proposed optimum yaw moment distribution scheme is shown to effective for vehicle stability control.

  • Multi-radio multi-channel Wireless Mesh Network requires an effective management policy to control the assignment of channels to each radio. We concentrated our investigation on modeling method and solution to find a dynamic channel assignment scheme that is adapted to change of network traffic. Multi-path routing scheme was chosen to overwhelm the unreliability of wireless link. For a particular traffic state, our optimization model found a specific traffic distribution over multi-path and a channel assignment scheme that maximizes the overall network throughput. We developed a simple heuristic method for channel assignment by gradually removing clique load to obtain higher throughput. We also presented numerical examples and discussion of our models in comparison with existing research.

  • We propose a fast macroblock mode prediction and decision algorithm based on contextual information for Pslices in the H.264/AVC video standard, in which the mode prediction part is composed of intra and inter modes. There are nine $4{\times}4$ and four $16{\times}16$ modes in the intra mode prediction, and seven block types exist for the best coding gain based on rate-distortion optimization. This scheme gives rise to exhaustive computations (search) in the coding procedure. To overcome this problem, a fast inter mode prediction scheme is applied that uses contextual mode information for P-slices. We verify the performance of the proposed scheme through a comparative analysis of experimental results. The suggested mode search procedure increased more than 57% in speed compared to a full mode search and more than 20% compared to the other methods.

  • In this paper, we propose a new scheme for the generation of partial products for VLSI fast parallel multiplier. It adopts a new encoding method which halves the number of partial products using 2x2 submultipliers and rearrangement of primitive partial products. The true 4-input CSA can be achieved with appropriate rearrangement of primitive partial products out of 2x2 submultipliers using the newly proposed theorem on binary number system. A 16bit x 16bit multiplier has been desinged using the proposed method and simulated to prove that the method has comparable speed and area compared to booth's encoding method. Much smaller and faster multiplier could be obtained with far optimization. The proposed scheme can be easily extended to multipliers with inputs of higher resolutions.

  • With the fast increasing popularity of mobile services, ubiquitous mobile devices with enhanced sensing capabilities collect and share local information towards a common goal. The recent Mobile Crowd Sensing (MCS) paradigm enables a broad range of mobile applications and undoubtedly revolutionizes many sectors of our life. A critical challenge for the MCS paradigm is to induce mobile devices to be workers providing sensing services. In this study, we examine the problem of sensing task assignment to maximize the overall performance in MCS system while ensuring reciprocal advantages among mobile devices. Based on the overlapping coalition game model, we propose a novel workload determination scheme for each individual device. The proposed scheme can effectively decompose the complex optimization problem and obtains an effective solution using the interactive learning process. Finally, we have conducted extensive simulations, and the results demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves a fair tradeoff solution between the MCS performance and the profit of individual devices.
