  • This paper describes the characteristic feather of propulsion system adopting mass production. The train formation is composed of 4 cars by 2 Motor cars and 2 Train cars. Acceleration rate must be 3.0 km/h/s or more when the car starts up to 35km/h by 16ton of passenger load. The system information supervision is easy because the system is controlled to perfect digital circuits, all information of an action is stored in a memory and is managed. The control system is composed of a fully digital circuit and a high level software such as C language. The DSP TMS320C31 is used for main processor and has the capability of 50MHz, 32bit floating point operation and has a C compiler. Therefore, the implementation of control algorithm and the change of function are easy. VVVF inverter using IGBT conducted variable combined test, environment test using chamber, interface test and field test etc.

  • Korean High Speed Train (KHST) has been tested on high speed line in JungBu site since it was developed in 2002. The data acquisition system was used to test successfully the on-line test for proving the dynamic performance of KHST. The recognition of system vibration mode for railway vehicle is essential to understand the characteristics of design for dynamic system and diagnose the dynamic problems of vehicle system during test and operation. But, up to now, there are the efforts to know the system vibration mode within limit of theoretical field only, not experimental approach with systematic method. The theoretical results are too reliable to apply to real design problem, because it is theoretically based on the homogeneous linear system although the real system have the nonlinear characteristics and vary the environmental conditions. Therefor, in this paper, it is proposed the efficient method of vibration analysis for rail vehicle system and this method apply to KHST to recognize the vibration mode characteristics of it. The results show that this method is able to make the system vibration modes for KHST clear.

A Study On Causal Relationship between Exchange Rate and Economic Growth in Korea (한국의 환율과 경제성장과의 인과관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the causal relationship between the exchange rate and economic growth, and to induce policy implications. In order to test whether time series data is stationary and the model is fitness or not, we put in operation unit root test, cointegration test. And we apply Granger causality based on an error correction model. The results indicate that uni-dierctional causality between exchange rate and economic growth is detected. Exchange rate impacts on economic growth, but economic growth don't impact on exchange rate. The analysis of impulse reaction function shows that the impulse of exchange rate impacts on Korean economic growth in negative direction. We can infer policy suggestion as follows: The fluctuation of exchange rate much affects economic growth, thus we must make a stable policy of exchange rate to continue economic growth.

  • Software testing during development and operation should exercise to obtain the desired software quality and leave failure data set. So far, many software reliability models are classified and can be used to measure a software reliability only based on its failure history But, in practice, developers or testers of software systems must decide which existing software reliability model can be fitted. In this paper, we will show that an appropriate reliability model can be selected by considering relations between characteristics of each testing environment and models' assumptions. Several methods of software testing are presented and discussed. Also, unit test, integrated test, function test and system test that are sequentially exercised during development will be introduced.

  • This study introduces an environmental noise evaluation procedure for wind turbines(W/T) and the evaluation result of a 750 kW wind turbine(W/T) system. Test and evaluation are performed according to the international standard IEC 61400-11 on J48 W/T which is under operation in Daekwanryung W/T test site. With the meteorological data and W/T operational data, noise data are monitored and analysed. An integrated monitoring system is constructed in the test site and is utilized for the evaluation. From the measured noise data, acoustic power level, directivity and tonality of the W/T are estimated under the wind speeds required fly the International standard. The purpose of the study is to establish an W/T noise evaluating system satisfying the international standard and to obtain noise data for home made 750 kW W/T.

  • As the huge energy transfer systems like as nuclear power plant and steam power plant are operated for a long time, mechanical properties are changed and ductile-brittle transition temperature is raised by degradation. So it is required to estimate degradation in order to assess the safety, remaining life, and further operation parameters. The sub-sized specimen test method using surveillance specimen was developed for evaluating the integrity of metallic components. In this study, we would like to present the evaluation technique of the ductile-brittle transition temperature by the sub-sired specimen test. The four classes of the thermally aged 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V specimens were prepared using an artificially accelerated aging method. The tensile test and fracture toughness test were performed. The results of the fracture toughness tests using the sub-sized specimens were compared with the evaluation technique of the ductile-brittle transition temperature.

  • Full scale durability test in the laboratory is an essential of any fatigue life evaluation of components or structures of the automotive vehicle. Component testing is particularly important in today's highly competitive industries where the design to reduce weight and production costs must be balanced with the necessity to avoid expensive service failure. Generally, Hydraulic road simulator is used to carry out the fatigue test and the vibration test. In this paper, the algorithm and software to realize the real road profile are developed. The operation software for simultaneously controlled multi-axial simulator is developed and the input and output data are displayed window based PC controller in real time. The software to generate the real road profile are developed. This paper developed a road profile reappearance software and simultaneously apply 3-axial actuator to white noise, so we verified the propriety of reappearance software through accomplishes an real test.

  • 본 논문에서는 Door Fan Test 수행 사례를 중심으로 사전 준비에 필요한 사항에 대해 분석하였다. 분석 결과 관통부 주위 개구부, 벽체 틈새 개구부 등 방화구역의 누설부위를 통해 약제가 누출되는 문제가 있었다. 원인으로는 전기배선 공사로 인해 내화충전된 부분을 제거하고 공사 후 다시 충전하지 않는 경우, 벽과 천장사이의 틈을 내화 실란트 등으로 마감을 하지 않은 경우가 대부분이었다. 이와 같이 누설부위가 많은 경우 테스트의 결과 불합격이 나오게 되며, 이러한 문제점을 개선하기 위해 사전현장조사를 통해 방호구역의 누설부위를 조사하고 보완조치를 진행한 후 테스트를 수행하는 절차가 필요하였다. 한편, 테스트 운영에 관한 사항으로는 해당 실(room)을 위한 충분한 유량 미확보, 장애물로 인한 와류형성, 차압측정구의 설치문제 등이 있었다. 이를 개선하기 위해서 공기를 유입하는 실은 외부로부터 충분한 공기유입이 있어야하며, 팬 앞의 장애물을 제거하거나 팬의 설치 위치를 조정하는 것이 필요하며, 공기의 유동이 가장 적은 곳에 측정구를 설치하는 등의 조치가 필요하다.

  • Vacuum facility is required for high altitude space environment test to develop small thruster. We, at Chungnam National University, developed vacuum test facility up to $10^{-5}$ torr to simulate $100{\sim}120km$ altitude environment. Prior to operation, we predict vacuum pump performances and present preliminary calculation and experiments.

  • The Load Rejection to House Load test at 100% power was successfully performed during the YGN 4 PAT period. In this test, all plant control systems automatically controlled the plant from 100% power to house load operation mode. The LTC code, which was used in the performance analysis during the design process of YGN 3&4, predictions of the test agreed with the measured data demonstrating the validity of the code as well as the completeness of the plant design.
