  • Because of the rapid development of internet and Various Types. huge amount and Various types of data are available on the web there days. The tasks such as information retrieval, composition and integration are not easy on the web which contains such huge amount of data. In order to solve these problems W3C introduced Semantic Web as a next generation Web. Semantic Web guarantee the cooperation between heterogeneous Systems and improve reusability of information by providing the machine understandable Web data. In this paper. We design develop an ontology for the museum. The implemented ontology can be used as a standard ontology for the relic search in a museum.

  • Recently, a demand of adaptive multimedia service, which supports multimedia service migration according to user's location and characteristics of user device, is increased. In this paper, we propose a service migration system, which becomes aware of user device using intelligent agent. And we design and implement the ontology-based intelligent agent, which is aware of the context in its environment. Moreover, we implement a context reasoning system using location information.

  • In order to use a RDBMS as the repository for product information, it is essential that the ontological query be processed effectively and answered properly, satisfying the user's expectations for an ontological query process. To be well-processed ontological queries, the key point is whether the various semantic relationships among the concepts of the product information are likewise well-processed. For feasibly processing a semantic query, we need to consider how the product ontology data is designed and stored in RDBMS. In this paper, we present how a RDB schema for the product ontology could be designed and queried.

  • The purpose of the study is to design the ontology-based Prescription Knowledge Management System of Oriental Medicine. The study was done with the premise that the effectiveness of the system can be improved by using ontological abstractional structure based on definition of concept, attribution and relations of words related to the specific area. The system is developed with Protege-2000 by using newly developed KPML(Korean Medicine Prescription Markup Language). The results of the study provide the model of Prescription Knowledge Management System and the possibility of implementing XML-based ontology system to the semantic web environment.

  • In spite of rapid development of IT-related meteorology and services, human users still ought to check the weather information manually as they did before because traditional weather information retrieval is based on pull-type and human interpretation. Furthermore, the automatic machine-driven weather information processing has been neglected for a long time although the intelligent weather information processing is expected to be very useful for personal daily life and ubiquitous computing. In this paper, we discussed a design of GRIB based ontology to enable smart weather information processing. GRIB is the general purposed and world-wildly used weather data format approved by the World Meteorological Organization. With the designed ontology and the inference system containing Jess engine, several intelligent weather applications have been implemented and tested to verify the virtue of machine-driven weather information processing.

  • ERP system is a fundamental system that is commonly adopted by most companies that intend to take part in e-business. However, few companies are running ERP systems successfully because of inaccuracy in data managed by ERP system. In this paper, we propose a model and the building process of item ontology which organize concepts describing all items managed by enterprises. In addition, we design and implement a system to create and manage item ontologies. We interface our system with a commercial ERP system, then install and run these systems on a manufacturing company. Our item ontologies and management system might help enterprises when they try to take part in e-business.

  • The ultimate purpose of cities is 'the enhancement of quality of life in city'. In order to achieve this, it is required to optimize the Ontology-driven ubiquitous services included in the U-City and UIS of regions and communities and so on. Almost U-Service's contents are related to spatial or temporal extent. So it is important to design Spatio-temporal event schema for efficient access to U-City. There is a rapid change into an urban society in the shape of Ontology-driven ubiquitous services in which a content on a region or an incident is newly reconstructed through various ideas with the influence of the ubiquitous environment.

  • As complex mathematical models are increasingly adopted for business decision-making, difficulties arise in reusing solvers (i.e., model solving algorithms) against diverse models and data sets and thus the collaboration among users (model/solver builders and decision makers) in multiple departments becomes very difficult. To facilitate the solver reuse, this paper adopts the Web services technologies as the base technologies for linking the solvers to the models, both of which are created on different modeling paradigms and different system platforms, in unified system architecture. Specifically, this paper focuses on designing an ontology that represents the interfacing semantics of the model-solver interactions in a general and standardized form. By referring to the ontology, a model management system (MMS) can autonomously suggest a set of compatible solvers and apply them to individual models even though the decision makers are not knowledgeable enough about all the details of the models and the solvers. Thus, this Web services based MMS would improve the reusability of the solvers by relieving the decision makers from the risk of erroneous application of a solver to syntactically and semantically incompatible models and the burden of considerable understanding of model and solver semantics.

  • The Korean food, which has been attracting attention only as a unique culture of Korea, has become popular in the world market by being used as a material of Korean Wave and me-media. The systematic organization of knowledge for recipes and related information can highlight the value of Korean food. It will serve as a basis for improving the reusability of Korean food contents through expanded and limited search and effective browsing. This study purports to design an ontology for establishing Korean food knowledge structure. Ontology modeling is based on OWL. Vocabularies of Korean food were examined based on 32 volumes of Korean food information, and data elements were extracted by analyzing five domains and applications. As a result, the study derived classes and properties, and proposed an indexing example.
