The purpose of this study is to present basic data of clarifying the differences between employed and unemployed wives' family and comparing low classes with other classes for the more reasonable and successful home administration through investigating and analyzing decision-making patterns of the families of working women in the low income group. The questionnaires were distributed in September 1984 to 300 working women in the city of Seoul and Sung-Nam. Statistical methods such as frequency, percentage and the mean value were used for grasping general characteristics of the families and F-test, Pearson's Correlations were used for investigating the interrelation of the related variables. The results of this study were as follows; 1) Wife's participation indecision-making was increased while joint decision-making was decreased compared with those of unemployed wives' family and other classes. 2) Both of the degree of conjugal participation in decision-making and joint decision-making were influenced by wife's educational level, disparity in educations of couple, husbands' occupation, family income, wife's age. But duration of marriage affected only the degree of joint decision-making. Especially family income and husbands; occupations turned to be important variables in low income families. 3) In case of wife's satisfaction with her occupation, joint decision-making was well achieved or not according to certain decision items. Though wife and husband satisfied with their marriage, joint decision-making was not well performed in working wives' family with low income.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate occupational distribution of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) patients and their diagnosis according to occupations and to evaluate the relationship between TMD and occupations. Work-related factors which might aggravate TMD symptoms were also evaluated. Methods: We investigated 316 TMD patients, aged from 13 to 65 years old, who had visited the Department of Oral Medicine in Pusan National University Dental Hospital. The subjects who have a job were assessed using TMD analysis examination and occupation questionnaire. The level of significance was p-value<0.05. Result: This study presented that the diagnoses according to occupations were not significant, but work-related factors such as verbal work and poor posture were related with TMD symptoms. Conclusions: Proper education is essential to prevent aggravation of TMD symptoms because TMD symptoms were more related to work environment than a specific occupation.
Health promoting behaviors of an individual are affected by various variables. Recently, there has been a growing concern over important health problems of the middle aged women. Physiological changes in the middle aged women and their responsibility for family care can result in physical and psychological burden experienced by middle aged women. This study was designed to test Pender's model and thus purpose a model that explains health promoting behaviors among middle-aged women in Korea. The hypothetical model was developed based on the Pender's health promoting model and the findings from past studies on women's health. Data were collected by self-reported questionnaires from 863 women living in Seoul, between 20th, April and 15th, July 1995. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. The Linear Structural Relationship(LISREL) modeling process was used to find the best fit model which assumes causal relationships among variables. The results are as follows : 1. The Overall fit of the hypothetical model to the data was good expect chi-square value(GFI=.96, AGFI=.91, RMR=.04). 2. Paths of the model were modified by considering both its theoretical implication and statistical significance of the parameter estimates. Compared to the hypothetical model, the revised model has become parsimonious and had a better fit to the data expect chi-square value(GFI=.95, AFGI= .92. RMR=.04). 3. Some of modifying factors, especially age, occupation, educational levels and body mass index (BMI) are revealed significant effects on health promoting behaviors. 4. Some of cognitive-perceptual factors, especially internal health locus of control, self-efficacy and perceptive health status are revealed significant effects on health promoting behaviors. 5. All predictive variables of health promoting behaviors, especially age, occupation, educational levels, body mass index(BMI), internal health locus of control, self-efficacy & perceptive health status are explained 20.0% of the total variance in the model.
The purpose of this study is to examine the information search behavior of medical consumers visiting a hospital, and investigate the consumption values of medical consumers, classified according to the information search behavior, and characteristics of online health and disease information. This study also tried to identify the factors affecting medical consumers classified according to information search behavior, and gain an extensive understanding of medical consumers'consumption values and online information use. The analysis results of this study are as follows: First, the consumption values of medical consumers were classified into a total of 7 factors, i.e. future-positive value, family-oriented value, sustainablehealth value, rational-progressive value, social-cooperative value, socialachiever value and hedonistic-individual value. Next, the characteristics of medical consumers'online information search behavior were classified into three types of consumer groups, i.e. the limited information-oriented consumer group, the practical information-oriented consumer group and the passionate information-oriented consumer group. Second, the analysis of the differences among the three groups classified according to the characteristics of the information search behavior in terms of consumption values, use of online information sources, utility and the intention to reuse online information showed that all the differences were statistically significant. The passionate information-oriented consumer group showed the highest scores in the sustainable-health value, the social-achiever value and the hedonisticindividual value. Third, the factors affecting medical consumers, classified into three groups according to the characteristics of the information search behavior, were found to be socio-demographic variables like consumers' age and occupation, consumers'consumption values, use of online information sources, and utility of online information. This study tried to understand what values medical consumers have according to the differences in the information search behavior by examining the consumption values of medical consumers according to the information search behavior. The significance of this study lies in the fact that consumption values are instrumental in understanding medical consumers by identifying the fundamental motives and desires of consumers' behavior.
This study was designed to establish the relationship between airborne trichloroethylene concentrations and total trichloro-compounds and trichloroacetic acid in urine samples of the trichloroethylene exposed workers, to examine if the biological screening value for trichloroacetic acid in urine set by the Ministry of Labor is appropriate, and to suggest a suitable biological screening value for total trichloro-compounds in urine. Seventy male workers from the cleaning, the packing, and the inspcetion areas were selected as the study group and eighty male office workers were chosen as the control group. The results were as follows: 1. The mean values of total trichloro-compounds and trichloroacetic acid in the exposed group ($48.1{\pm}1.5mg/{\ell}$, $19.7{\pm}1.9mg/{\ell}$) were significantly higher than those in the control group($4.3{\pm}1.5mg/{\ell}$, $1.8{\pm}1.2mg/{\ell}$). 2. The airborne tichloroethylene concentrations were significantly related with the concentrations of total trichloro-compounds in urine(r=0.8212) and the concentrations of trichloroacetic acid in urine(r=0.7216). 3. The average trichloroethylene concentrations in the manual cleaning plants and that in the automatic cleaning plants were 40.1 ppm and 7.7 ppm, respectively. The difference between two groups was statistically significant. 4. The geometric mean of 49.6 ppm trichloroethylene concentration was resulted in the $185.4mg/{\ell}$ total trichloro-compounds in urine, and the 50 ppm trichloroethylene concentration was expected to produce $170.4{\pm}28.5mg/{\ell}$ total trichloro-compounds in urine. 5. With the geometric mean of 49.6 ppm trichloroethylene concentration, the corresponding geometric mean concentration of trichloroacetic acid in urine was $74.7mg/{\ell}$. In conclusion, the level of personal exposure to trichloroethylene concentration was significantly correlated with the concentrations of total trichloro-compounds and trichloroacetic acid in urine. Current biological screening value of $75mg/{\ell}$ for trichloroacetic acid in urine set by the Ministry of Labor was thought to be appropriate, and a biological screening value for total trichloro-compounds in urine should be set in the range of $170.4{\pm}28.5mg/{\ell}$ as a reference value for trichoroethylene exposure.
This study was performed to develope a money management education program for elementary school students graded from 3 to 6 in order to enhance their money management skill. Total 15 specific education programs were developed. The contents included in each program were value of money & economic circulation, types of money and the importance of money management, the issues related on choice and resource use, long-term and short-term planning, the relationship between occupation and earnings, career planning, budgeting, the reasons and types of saving, understanding of interest, investment methods, the functions of market and trade, intra family income distribution, consumptions, and consumer decision making process.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the implementing level of housewife's manage-ment behavior related to reducing environmental pollution and the effects of three variable-groups on management behavior related to reducing environmental pollution. The research data were collected by structured questionnare and 544 cases were finnally selected. The data analysis was conducted by the method of frequency mean Pearson's correla-tion multiple regression. The major findings were as follows: 1) The implementing level of housewife's overall management behavior slightly high. 2) Wife's value(ecologicalism materialism expediency social-enviromental resources(degree of masscom contact degree of meeting with neighbors. refuse box) were significant predictors of the level of overall management behavior And Background variables(wife's aged and educa-tion level & job household income occupation of husband) had not significant effect on the level of overall management behavior. The most influential variable-group on the level of overall management behavior and buying cleaning & dishwashing cooking laundry activities was Wife's value. But the most influential variable-group on the implementing level of disposing trash was social-environmental resources.
The purpose of this study was to develop the measurement of the fashion sensibility. The stimulus were 91 photos selected in fashion magazines and had dominant visual power under detail, color, texture and pattern in the elements of fashion design. The semantic differential scale was constructed bipolar 25 pairs. The obtained data were analyzed by cluster analysis, factor analysis, ANOVA and t-test. The results were as follows; 1. The hierarchical structure was combined a natural and interesting, sensitive and lovely fashion sensibility. 2. The constructing factors of fashion sensibility were found out as aesthetic value, maturity, character and femininity·masculinity.(total variance: 55.7%) 3. Fashion sensibility by elements of fashion design was significantly different regarding all factors. 4. Fashion sensibility by demographic variables sex, age, marriage, education, occupation and expenditure was significantly different regarding partial factors.
Today a consumer is confused and he looks only for values in relation to the prices spent by him/her in the buying process. He/She relates value in terms product pricing, brand value, his experiences etc. This therefore gives a vast scope for organized retailing that can make products available as per the aspirations of the consumer. For these organized retailers, Shopping Malls are acting as a catalyst and helping them to enhance their growth all over the country. They are providing them the required infrastructure and also helping them to achieve a faster growth. The present study is therefore done visualizing the opportunities available in the Indian market and the issues faced by the mushrooming of Malls in Indian metropolitan cities making their survival difficult due to cut-throat competition. This is also resulting in poor occupation and is not able to find neither the right rentals nor the footfalls.
The purpose of this study to examine the relevant factors in tool and fashion of make up. For the study, a questionnaire survey was conducted of 436 women in between their twenties to fifties residing in the Kyeongnam region. Obtained data were analyzed pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows.; The influence on tool and fashion of make up can be described into 4 factors that are included in the decision making process of tool and fashion, in other words, the demographical characteristic, the body cathexis, the need and the clothing value. Among these factors, the beauty need and the political value were proved to be more important. The demographic characteristics, the media contact had a direct influence on tool, and the occupation status had a direct influence on fashion. The body cathexis did not have a direct influence on any subordinate factors of tool and fashion, but had indirect influence having the need as a parameter or had no influence having the clothing value as a parameter.
