랩틴은 지방세포의 비만유전자에서 분비되는 포식인자로써 음식섭취, 에너지대사, 체중, 번식생리 및 신경호르몬 분비를 조절하는 역할을 한다. 본 연구는 antisense 비만유전자를 발현하는 형질전환 생쥐를 생산하기 위하여 실시하였다. 먼저 랩틴을 분비하는 지방세포에서 RNA 를 추출한 후 역전사 PCR을 실시하여 303 bp의 anti I과 635 bp의 anti II cDNA 들을 합성하였다. 이러한 cDNA 들을 지방세포 특이적 발현 프로모터인 aP2 프로모터와 SV40 poly(A) 사이에 역방향으로 결합하여 미세주입용 유전자를 구축하였다. 생쥐의 수정란전핵에 antisense 비만유전자를 미세 주입하여 14 마리의 형질전환 생쥐를 생산하였으며, anti I 을 지닌 4 마리의 형질전환 생쥐와 anti II를 지닌 5마리의 형질전환 생쥐계통을 확립하였다. 그리고 형질전환 생쥐의 지방세포를 추출하여 RT -PCR을 실시한 결과 antisense 비만유전자 mRNA발현을 확인하였다. 따라서, 본 연구에서 생산된 형질전환생쥐는 생체 랩틴저하에 의해 비만을 일으키는 질환모텔동물로써의 사용가능성을 나타내었다.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Atherosclerosis is associated with increased inflammation in the visceral adipose tissue (VAT). Vitamin D has been reported to modulate the inflammatory responses of stromal vascular cells (SVCs) and adipocytes in adipose tissue, but the role of vitamin D in atherosclerosis biology is unclear. This study examined the effects of in vitro 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D₃ (1,25[OH]₂D₃) treatment on the inflammatory responses of SVCs and adipocytes from atherosclerotic mice. MATERIALS/METHODS: C57BL/6J (B6) mice were divided randomly into 2 groups and fed a 10% kcal fat control diet (control group, CON) or 41% kcal fat, 0.21% cholesterol (high fat + cholesterol, HFC) diet (obese group, OB), and B6.129S7-Ldlr^tm1Her/J (Ldlr^-/-) mice were fed a HFC diet (obese with atherosclerosis group, OBA) for 16 weeks. SVCs and adipocytes isolated from VAT were pre-incubated with 1,25(OH)₂D₃ for 24 h and stimulated with lipopolysaccarides for the next 24 h. Proinflammatory cytokine production by adipocytes and SVCs, the immune cell population in SVCs, and the expression of the genes involved in the inflammatory signaling pathway in SVCs were determined. RESULTS: The numbers of total macrophages and SVCs per mouse were higher in OB and OBA groups than the CON group. The in vitro 1,25(OH)₂D₃ treatment significantly reduced macrophages/SVCs (%) in the OBA group. Consistent with this change, the production of interleukin-6 and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP-1) by SVCs from the OBA group was decreased by 1,25(OH)₂D₃ treatment. The 1,25(OH)₂D₃ treatment significantly reduced the toll-like receptor 4 and dual-specificity protein phosphatase 1 (also known as mitogen-activated protein kinase phosphatase 1) mRNA levels in SVCs and MCP-1 production by adipocytes from all 3 groups. CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that vitamin D can attribute to the inhibition of the inflammatory response in VAT from atherosclerotic mice by reducing proinflammatory cytokine production.

다양한 정보를 신속, 정확하게 제공할 수 있는 정보검색시스템은 선진국에서 일찍이 개발되어 현재 우리나라에서도 한국어 데이타베이스를 검색할 수 있는 정보검색시스템이 실험적으로 또는 상업적으로 개발되고 있다. 이에 따라 개발된 시스템의 실행 가능성 테스트 (feasibility test)가 계속 부수적으로 수행되어 왔으나 평가 테스트들의 객관성 부족으로 인하여 개발된 정보검색시스템의 성능 또한 논쟁이 되어왔다. 이에 본 연구는 한국어 정보검색시스템과 자동색인기의 객관적인 성능평가를 위하여 실험 데이타 컬렉션을 개발하였다. 실험데이타 컬렉션은 정보과학회논문지, 한국정보과학회 1993 proceedings, 정보관리학회지에 수록된 1,053개의 논문으로 구성되었다. 입력된 모든 데이타는 국문 및 영문 저자, 서명, 서지사항, 초록, 분류번호, 색인어 등 18개의 access point를 지니며, 한국어 문헌 set 구축이외에 test set과 관련된 질의문을 작성하였고 질의문에 해당하는 적합문헌을 제시해 주었다.

Es ist eine $h\"{a}ufige$ Erscheinung, class das Verbreitungsgebiet einer Sprache mehrere $selbst\"{a}ndige$ Staaten umfasst, die an die verschiedene Gesellschafts- und Wirtschaftsszsteme angeschlossen werden und als die voneinander getrennte Kommunikationsgemeinschaften funktionieren. Aus diesem Aspekt kann die Frage gestellt werden, ob es in den versch:edenen deutschsprachigen Staaten zur Ausbildung von nationalen Varianten des Deutschen $k\"{a}me$. Aber um von nationalen Varianten gesprochen werden zu $k\"{o}nnen$, rechen nationale $Souveranit\"{a}t$, abweichendes Gesellschaftssystem und wenige lexikalische Besonderheiten jedenfalls nicht aus. $Daf\"{u}r\;m\"{u}sste$ ein Kriteriurn eines sprachlichen Normsystem noch erfullt werden. Es wird relativ leicht widerlegen lassen, dass die sprachlichen Besonderheiten in den deutschsprachigen Staaten zur Ausbildung einer nationalen Variante $f\"{u}hren$ sollten. Die Enteicklungstendenen des Deutschen $k\"{o}nne$ ein Vorbild $f\"{u}r$ die Betrachtung $\"{u}ber$ die Divergenz des Koreanischen sein. Aber systematische Analysen der nationalen Varianten im Koreanischen stehen leider noch aus. Somit muss intuitiv und $unvollst\"{a{ndig$ bleiben, was sich $\"{u}ber$ Besonderheiten der nationalen Varianten im Koreanischen sagen $l\"{a}sst$. Das ist noch eine zu $l\"{o}sende$ Aufgabe.

Purpose: This study aims to provide foundational data for preparing for educational programs on the role of a father that are designed to help primiparous spouses carry out the paternal role successfully. Methods: This study was conducted in two OB/GYN clinics and a study sample of 277 primiparous spouses who satisfied the selection criteria was selected. Results: Of the correlation among the childhood experiences, paternal attachment and role of a father of the subjects, the childhood experiences had a positive correlation with the paternal-infant attachment and the role of a father. The paternal-infant attachment and the role of a father also had a positive correlation. Conclusion: An infant is influenced primarily by his or her parents, who will have immense influences on the child's growth and development. Since the paternal-infant attachment is closely related to the role of a father, the development of positive paternal-infant attachment must be preceded in order for a primiparous spouse to carry out the role of a father successfully. Therefore, the development of nursing intervention programs is needed to foster the proper understanding of the role of a father, accommodate the practical needs of primiparous spouses and nurture the paternal-infant attachment for the promotion of realistic, successful role of a father.

Purpose: Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs or pockets within or on the surface of an ovary. Most cysts present little or no discomfort and are noncancerous and harmless. So non-surgical treatments with herbal medicine or acupuncture and moxa therapy are important and suitable in this pathology. But there are few RCT articles about ovarian cyst in Korean Medicine(KM) clinical and research field. Methods: To review treatment method and other research tendency about ovarian cyst in journals related with KM and Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) through web-searching. Searching was done through web site #http://omis.ksucc.ac.kr# and pub-med(http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez) with key words #ovarian cyst#, #TCM#, #herb#, #CAM#, and #acupuncture#. Results: Seven articles were searched in journals related with KM, then six of them were simple case report and the other one was about diagnosis for ovarian cyst and another gynecologic disease such as uterine myoma and infertility through the iris diagnosis. And two articles were searched in journals related with TCM, then one of them was simple case report but the other is RCT article. Conclusion: KM and TCM therapies have some beneficial effect to resolve cyst, but objective power as a evidence is weak in the viewpoint of EBM. So continuous clinical trials such as RCT and multi center trials are needed.

In the composition of $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ the effect of particle size on PbO vaporization were measured, . The initial step of discontinuous vaporization of unreated PbO during the calcining process was depended on the particle size. All additives $La_2O_3Nb_2O_5$ and $Al_2O_3$ inhibited the grain growth of the composition $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ +2wt% excess PbO. The dielectric and piezoelectric properties of the composition $Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$ were improved by the addition of 2wt% excess PbO and proper additive. The electromechanical planar coupling factor of 0.65 and mechnical quality factor of 390 could be obtained by adding 5wt% $Nb_2O_5$ to the composition 2wt% excess PbO+$Pb(Mg_{0.15} W_{0.15})Ti_{0.35}-Zr_{0.35}O_3$.

SiC휘스커를 첨가한 알루미나 분말 기지 복합체의 치밀화에 미치는 상온 반복 압축의 영향을 조사하였다. 반복 압축 응력과 반복 횟수가 증가할수록, 또한 바이어스 압력이 낮을수록 복합체의 초기 성형 밀도가 증가하였으며 가압 및 제하 속도, 반복 속도는 분말의 미끄러짐과 재배열에 큰 영향을 미치지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 상온 반복 압축으로 인한 SiC 휘스커의 파단은 거의 없었으며 휘스커의 배열 방향은 반복 압축 방향에 관계없이 고른 분포를 나타냄으로써 상온 반복 압축 성형이 SiC 휘스커를 첨가한 알루미나 분말 기지 복합체의 초기 성형 밀도를 높일 수 있는 효과적인 방법임을 알 수 있었다.

Purpose : Man is a homoiothermal animal. But by various causes, body temperature can be changed to $1^{\circ}C$. Basal temperature is a very useful method in many fields of OB&GY area. So we observed the change of body temperature according to menstrual cycle. Materials and Methods : We observed 3 female who have very regular 30 days menstrual cycle. The Observation started before the onset of menstruation and body temperature was checked in the same time (11:00 am) of a day. To evaluate the change of body temperature, we examined three points of body. And to observe the body temperature we used the D.I.T.I(Dorex, Inc., USA). Results : On this study we couldn't find the typical biphasic change of body temperature but most of the materials showed the elevation of body temperature on the 14th day. Between the examined three points, the lowest point was showed more typical biphasic change of body temperature.

Purpose: In addition to regulating body weight, leptin is also recognized for its role in the regulation of immune function and inflammation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of leptin on Prevotella (P.) intermedia lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-$\alpha$ production in differentiated THP-1 cells, a human monocytic cell line. Methods: LPS from P. intermedia ATCC 25611 was prepared by the standard hot phenol-water method. THP-1 cells were incubated in the medium supplemented with phorbol myristate acetate to induce differentiation into macrophage-like cells. The amount of TNF-$\alpha$ and interleukin-8 secreted into the culture medium was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). TNF-$\alpha$ and Ob-R mRNA expression levels were determined by semi-quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction analysis. Results: Leptin enhanced P. intermedia LPS-induced TNF-$\alpha$ production in a dose-dependent manner. Leptin modulated P. intermedia LPS-induced TNF-$\alpha$ expression predominantly at the transcriptional level. Effect of leptin on P. intermedia LPS-induced TNF-$\alpha$ production was not mediated by the leptin receptor. Conclusions: The ability of leptin to enhance P. intermedia LPS-induced TNF-$\alpha$ production may be important in the establishment of chronic lesion accompanied by osseous tissue destruction observed in inflammatory periodontal disease.
