  • In this paper, make a study decision problem called an optimal release policies after testing a software system in development phase and transfer it to the user. In the course of correcting or modifying the software, finite failure non-homogeneous Poisson process model, presented and was proposed release policies of the life distribution, half-logistic and log-logistic distributions model which used to an area of reliability because of various shape and scale parameter. In this paper, discuss optimal software release policies which minimize a total average software cost of development and maintenance under the constraint of satisfying a software reliability requirement. In a numerical example, the parameter estimation using maximum likelihood estimation of failure time data make out, and software optimal release time was estimated.

  • In the Atmosphere under the various physical and chemical condition different chemical reactions occur and there are a number of air pollutants which are generated by photochemical reaction by absorbing solar energy. Therefor various testing simulation was done as foundation work to develop the numerical model for the prediction of concentration of air pollutants. It was shown change of msjor air pollutants concentration In according to variation of photodissociation speed constant, Kl and Initial condition of air pollutants concentration which plays major role In photochemical reaction. The photochemical reaction model which was used In this study Is found to be useful for understanding relationship among the concentration of reacting air pollutants and the prediction of concentration of air pollutants in urban atmosphere.

  • In the early design stage, system reliability must be estimated from life testing data at the component level. Previously, a point estimate of system reliability was obtained from the unbiased estimate of the component reliability after assuming that the number of failed components for a given time followed a binomial distribution. For deriving the confidence interval of system reliability, either the lognormal distribution or the normal approximation of the binomial distribution was assumed for the estimator of system reliability. In this paper, a new estimator is used for the component level reliability, which is biased but has a smaller mean square error than the previous one. We propose to use the beta distribution rather than the lognormal or approximated normal distribution for developing the confidence interval of the system reliability. A numerical example based on Monte Carlo simulation illustrates advantages of the proposed approach over the previous approach.

  • Purpose - Due to its potential to improve supply chain operations, supply chain collaboration has attracted significant attention from both academics and practitioners. This study focuses on VMI, in collaboration with consignment, and examines its impact on supply chain performance. Research design, data, and methodology - This study employs the analysis of mathematical models, formulated based on the proposed supply chain framework. Using numerical examples, it evaluates the performance of three supply chain systems: one including VMI and consignment, a consignment-only system, and a traditional system. Results - The combination of VMI and consignment produces greater supply chain benefits than the consignment-only and traditional systems. Whereas only the performance of the buyer improves with the consignment-only system, the system with VMI and consignment is beneficial to both the buyer and supplier. Conclusions - The results of this study reveal that the inclusion of the additional collaborative function of VMI makes consignment a better supply chain collaboration program. Future studies should examine issues regarding the testing of diverse collaboration programs and the building of a firm theoretical background.

  • Shannon entropy is one of the widely used randomness measures especially for cryptographic applications. However, the conventional entropy tests are less sensitive to the inter-bit dependency in random samples. In this paper, we propose new online randomness test schemes for true random number generators (TRNGs) based on the mutual information between consecutive ${\kappa}$-bit output blocks for testing of inter-bit dependency in random samples. By estimating the block entropies of distinct lengths at the same time, it is possible to measure the mutual information, which is closely related to the amount of the statistical dependency between two consecutive data blocks. In addition, we propose a new estimation method for entropies, which accumulates intermediate values of the number of frequencies. The proposed method can estimate entropy with less samples than Maurer-Coron type entropy test can. By numerical simulations, it is shown that the new proposed scheme can be used as a reliable online entropy estimator for TRNGs used by cryptographic modules.

  • In Bayesian model selection or testing problems, one cannot utilize standard or default noninformative priors, since these priors are typically improper and are defined only up to arbitrary constants. The resulting Bayes factors are not well defined. A recently proposed model selection criterion, the intrinsic Bayes factor overcomes such problems by using a part of the sample as a training sample to get a proper posterior and then use the posterior as the prior for the remaining observations to compute the Bayes factor. Surprisingly, such Bayes factor can also be computed directly from the full sample by some proper priors, namely intrinsic priors. The present paper explains how to derive intrinsic priors for simple tree ordered exponential means. Some numerical results are also provided to support theoretical results and compare with classical methods.

  • Recently, It is proceeding the project of offshore structures in the many contury. A hybrid boundary-integral method is developed for computing wave forces on floating bodies. In this method, using the cylindric boundary for deviding elements, it is convenient to analysis but is difficult to apply to the rectangular or slender bodies. Thus, in this paper, I propose the new method by using the fictitious vertical cylinder of arbitary cross-section and shows results of the numerical analysis for testing.

  • In this paper, we propose a dynamic model of an escalator which can be used to build a design database. The model permits to estimate the forces applied to the structure by calculating three primary types of forces; the torque required to operate the escalator, the reaction forces at part interconnection points, and contact forces between parts. These forces can then be used to calculate dynamic stresses in the structure which is required to estimate the durability of the structure. Result of the computer model are compared with testing results. This simulation model is used to construct a design database. So when we design a new escalator, this design database can be used to make a new simulation model which makes it possible for us to do a Knowledge-Based-Design.

  • In application, sample size determination is one of the important problems in designing an experiment. A large amount of literature has been published on the problem of determining sample size and power for various statistical models. In practice, however, it is not easy to calculate sample size and/or power because the formula and other results derived from statistical model are scattered in various textbooks and journal articles. This paper describes some previously published theories that have practical relevance for sample size and power determination in various statistical problems, including life-testing problems with censored cases and introduces a statistical package which calculates sample size and power according to the results described. The screens and numerical results made by the package are demonstrated.

  • To address the need for new intelligent sensing of systems, this study presents a novel strain sensor based on peizoresistivity of carbon nanotube (CNT) and its nanocomposites. Fabrication and characterization of the carbon nanocomposite material are discussed and an electrical model of the CNT strain sensor was derived based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy analysis and strain testing. The dynamic response of the sensor on a vibrating beam was simulated using numerical analysis and it was compared with experimental test. The simulation showed good agreement with the strain response of the actual sensor.
