Helping People with Visual Disability Using AI

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has evolved rapidly in recent years and is used in everything from banking to email management to surgery, but without the help of the visible, most of the fun features of the Internet include visual impairment. It benefits people with disabilities. The main purpose of this study is to find ways to help people with visual impairments using AI technology. A visually impaired request is made for the visually impaired. For example, when a message arrives that the program will notify you by voice (reads the sender's name, read the message, and replies to it if necessary), this is a special program installed on your mobile phone. This program uses a customized algorithm developed in Python to convert written text to voice, read text, and convert voice to written text on a message when a visually impaired person wants to respond. Then it sends the response in the form of a text message. Therefore, the research should lead to programs for people with visual impairments. This program makes mobile phones easier and more comfortable to use and makes the daily life easier for visual impairments.

  • 핸드오버가 발생하는 NEMO(NEtwork MObility) 환경에서 주요 이슈 중 하나는 MR(Mobile Router)이 핸드오버 하는 동안에도 NEMO 네트워크 내의 MNN(Mobile Network Node)들에게 지속적인 QoS(Quailty of Service)를 보장해주는 것이다. 이를 위해 MR의 등록과 자원예약 프로세스가 완료되기까지의 지연시간을 최소화하는 것이 중요하다. 또한 MR이 핸드오버 하는 동안 네트워크상에 전달되고 있는 데이터 패킷들의 손실을 최소화해야 한다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 NEMO 네트워크에서의 자원예약 트리거와 버퍼링 방안을 제안한다. 제안하는 방안에서는 MR이 새로운 경로와 이전 경로가 만나는 지점의 노드인 CRN(CRossover Node)에게 NOTIFY 메시지를 보내 새로운 경로 상에 자원예약 셋업이 빨리 시작하도록 트리거 하였고, 자원예약이 수행되고 있는 동안 인터넷상에 전송중인 데이터 패킷들의 손실을 줄이기 위해 CRN에서 버퍼링하도록 하였다.

  • This Study analyzes the fact that whether or not, the applicant, by failing to object promptly to the facial discrepancies of the presented documents and to return those documents to the issuing bank, has waived his right to sue for breach of the Application agreement based on the recent Korea-US Case law. Some commentators claim that an applicant has a duty to notify the issuing bank within a reasonable time after receiving the documents that they do not comply with the letter of credit requirements and to return those documents to the issuing bank, and also suggest that a failure to do so result in a waiver of discrepancies that operates as a matter of law. But such decisions make little sense in letter of credit transaction. Unless otherwise agreed, Applicant agreement does not require that the applicant notify the issuing bank of any facial discrepancies of the documents or return those documents. Moreover there is no support in the body of law, i.e., UCP 500 or the Revised UCC Article 5, for an automatic waiver or preclusion arising from the applicant's failure to object promptly. In addition, beyond the lack of authority to support an automatic waiver arising from the applicant's failure to object and return the documents, in a letter of credit transaction the issuing bank is the only party charged with the duty of scrutinizing documents. Therefore, if there are discrepancies, it is the bank that should have to seek an express waiver from the applicant ; the issuing bank should not avoid responsibility for failing to notice discrepancies because the applicant was slow to scrutinize the documents closely or because the applicant failed to inform the issuing bank of such discrepancies. Requiring that applicants inspect documents independently defeats the purpose of retaining the issuing bank, erodes the bank's responsibility to perform its role diligently, and may result in the bank avoiding liability despite negligent payment. If the bank wants to require an applicant to report discrepancies promptly, he may include a provision in the Application agreement limiting the time limit within which the applicant must give notice of facial discrepancies and return the documents. This approach will ensure the continued wide-spread use of documentary credit as a reliable payment mechanism.

이동통신 자료 동기화를 이용한 외근 사원 일정관리 (Schedule Management for Outside Duty Personnels Using Mobile Communication Data Synchronization)

  • 외근 사원들은 사무실 보다는 밖에서 주로 개인적으로 근무하는 경우가 많기 때문에, 개인 및 부서 전체의 일정관리가 대단히 어렵다. 개인이나 부서 전체의 일정을 변경할 필요가 있을 때마다, 일일이 모두에게 전화를 해서 이를 알려야 한다. 그런데, 외근 사원들이 가지고 다니는 PDA 등과 같은 이동통신 기기를 이용해서 필요할 때마다 가장 최근의 부서 일정을 다운로드하거나 본인의 일정을 업로드 할 수 있다면, 외근 사원들의 개인 및 부서 전체의 일정관리 문제를 쉽게 해결할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이동통신 환경에서의 자료동기화 기법을 이용하여 외근 사원들을 위한 일정관리 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 이동통신 환경에서의 자료동기화란 이동통신 단말기에 저장된 자료와 중앙 관리 서버의 자료를 일치시키는 작업을 일컫는다. 즉, OMA(Open Mobile Alliance)에서 표준으로 제안하고 있는 SyncML 자료동기화 방법을 이용하여 언제 어디서나 외근 사원들이 부서 전체의 일정을 점검하고 본인의 일정을 부서 전체에 알릴 수 있는 일정관리 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다.

  • Pine Wilt Disease (Bursaphelenchus Xylophilus) has been attacked since 1988, then it becomes very serious problem of the all over the country. Government has been invested a lot of money to prevent but it is hard to survey the damaged area and ineffectively control the process of prevention. Therefore, this study is focused on development of Pine Wilt Disease (Bursaphelenchus Xylophilus) Prevention System using GIS and GPS through constructiong database of digital map, satellite imagery and attribute data and development component for desktop PC, internet and mobile system to realtime data transmission between project manager and field worker. Especially, we developed the mobile system that can transmit field conditions in realtime using GPS, GIS and CCD camera, the telecommunication control server that transmit received field condition data to web connecting module and system manager, the web system for end user to notify prevention details, the control system lot manager to recognize filed conditions and to control field workers and the wireless telecommunication module to connect in realtime between field and control center.

Surveillance Programme of Work-related Diseases (WRD) in France

  • The surveillance programme of work-related diseases (WRD) is based on a network of occupational physicians who notify all WRD diagnosed during a two-week observation period. The aims are mainly to estimate the prevalence of non-compensated WRD in the working population according to socio economic factors; to determine new indicators of occupational health; to update the lists of compensable occupational diseases; to understand and assess under-compensation and under-notification. The participation rate for occupational physicians is around 33% in 2008. The main WRD are the musculoskeletal disorders, followed by the mental disorders. This 2-week protocol, repeated regularly, provides useful data on frequency of pathologies linked to employment as well as an estimate of unreported WRD subject to compensation or non-compensated WRDs, and the trends of WRDs over the time.

초고속 통신망을 이용한 재택산전간호관리 시스템 개발 (Development of the Home-Based Prenatal Care System via Information Superhighway)

  • Due to the rapid socioeconomic development and the introduction of the national health insurance system the general population's need for health care and utilization of health care services have increased dramatically. As a result of this change. Korea is experiencing a shortage of health care facilities and health manpower, and this leads long wailing line at doctor's offices. One of the solutions of this problem could be home health care system for those who have minor health related problems. With this background, this study was conducted to look at the feasibility of a home-based prenatal care system using information superhighway and nursing informatics specialists. With the home-based prenatal care system, the pregnant woman checks her blood pressure, tests her urine for sugar and protein, and measures her body weight at home and sends the information to a hospital computer via the information networks such as public telephone line and information superhighway. Nursing informatics specialist at the hospital will go through each patient record and screen those who have abnormal values and notify them to see a doctor as soon as possible. Besides telemonitoring features, the proposed system will include tole-education capabilities for the patients so that patient can learn whatever they need to know ragarding the prenatal care via information networks. If this system develops and operates, patient can save time in terms of travel to and from the hospital and waiting time in the hospital. And the health care institute can utilize its resource more efficiently.

간호사와 의사 간의 윤리적 딜레마 사례개발과 간호사의 의사결정 양상 (Case Development on Nurses' Ethical Dilemmas with Physicians' and Nurses' Decision Making)

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop a realistic clinical case and investigate nurses' decision-making about nurses' ethical dilemmas with physicians in the fields of nursing practice. Methods: Case development and a hypothetical case study were used. Participants were 52 nurses. Data were collected in 2012 and 2013 using an open-ended questionnaire and interviews and analyzed using content analysis and descriptive statistics. Results: Various dilemma situations between nurses and physicians, such as violence, deathbed, medication prescription, and physicians' incapacity unfairness, were suggested. A clinical dilemma case about medication prescription was developed based on nurses' experiences. Nurses' responses to the developed case situation and responses were classified into five types. Various reasons were given for making the decisions and about 56% of the nurses decided to notify their supervisor without deleting nursing records. Conclusion: In this study, a realistic clinical dilemma case was developed, and nurses' ethical decision making was identified. These findings can be used in developing effective strategies for nurses to solve ethical dilemmas and to improve ethical decision-making abilities.

Cluster-Based Mobile Sink Location Management Scheme for Solar-Powered Wireless Sensor Networks

  • In this paper, we propose a sink-location management and data-routing scheme to effectively support the mobile sink in solar-powered WSN. Battery-based wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have a limited lifetime due to their limited energy, but solar energy-based WSNs can be supplied with energy periodically and can operate forever. On the other hand, introduction of mobile sink in WSNs can solve some energy unbalance problem between sink-neighboring nodes and outer nodes which is one of the major challenges in WSNs. However, there is a problem that additional energy should be consumed to notify each sensor node of the location of the randomly moving mobile sink. In the proposed scheme, one of the nodes that harvests enough energy in each cluster are selected as the cluster head, and the location information of the mobile sink is shared only among the cluster heads, thereby reducing the location management overhead. In addition, the overhead for setting the routing path can be removed by transferring data in the opposite direction to the path where the sink-position information is transferred among the heads. Lastly, the access node is introduced to transmit data to the sink more reliably when the sink moves frequently.

오픈레이어 기반 사용자 친화적 KML 검증도구 설계 (Design of User Friendly KML Validation Tool based on OpenLayers)

  • 일반적으로 KML 검증도구는 KML 파일을 작성하는 사람이 사용할 기능을 제공한다. 즉, 잘 구성된 문서 여부와 스키마 및 명세서를 준수하였는지를 검증하고, 오류가 있는 부분의 KML 코드 위치만 알려줄 뿐이다. 타인이 작성한 KML 파일을 사용하고자 하는 사람은 KML 검증을 통해 해당 파일의 유효성뿐만 아니라 공간객체의 위치정보, 형태, 개수 등의 일반적 요약사항도 궁금해 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 기존 검증도구의 검증기능을 모두 포함하면서 OpenLayers 기반의 지도 연동과 도형 및 이미지 기반의 KML 파일 요약정보를 제공하는 사용자 친화적 KML 검증도구를 제안하였다.
