Adaptive Fuzzy Control of Yo-yo System Using Neural Network

  • The yo-yo system has been introduced as an interesting plant to demonstrate the effectiveness of intelligent controllers. Having nonlinear and asymmetric characteristics, the yo-yo plant requires a controller quite different from conventional controllers such as PID. In this paper is presented an adaptive method of controlling the yo-yo system. Fuzzy logic controller based on human expertise is referred at first. Then, an adaptive fuzzy controller which has adaptation features against the variation of plant parameters is proposed. Finally, experimental results are presented.

  • The main objective of this paper is to control the speed of Nonlinear Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) by controlling the throttle position. Various control techniques such as well known Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller in conjunction with state feedback controller (SFC) such as Pole Placement Technique (PPT), Observer Based Controller (OBC) and Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) Controller are designed. Some Intelligent control techniques e.g. fuzzy logic PD, Fuzzy logic PI along with Adaptive Controller such as Self Organizing Controller (SOC) is also designed. The design objective in this research paper is to provide smooth throttle movement, zero steady-state speed error, and to maintain a Selected Vehicle (SV) speed. A comparative study is carried out in order to identify the superiority of optimal control technique so as to get improved fuel economy, reduced pollution, improved driving safety and reduced manufacturing costs.

  • Most of systems has nonlinearity . And also accurate modelings of these uncertain nonlinear systems are very difficult. In this paper, a fuzzy modeling technique for the stabilization control of an IP(inverted pendulum) system with nonlinearity was proposed. The fuzzy modeling was acquired on the basis of ANFIS(Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Infernce System) which could learn using a series of input-output data pairs. Simulation results showed its superiority to the PID controller. We believe that its applicability can be extended to the other nonlinear systems.

Study on Satellite Vibration Control using Adaptive Control Scheme

  • Adaptive control methods are studied for the Satellite to isolate vibration in spite of the nonlinear system dynamics and parameter uncertainties of disturbance. First, a centralized control scheme is developed based on the particle swarm optimization(PSO) algorithm and feedback theory to automatically tune controller gains. A simulation study of a 3 degree-of-freedom device was conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed control scheme. Next, since a centralized control scheme is hard to construct model dynamics and not goad at performance when controller and systems environment are easily changed, a decentralized control scheme is presented to avoid these defects of the centralized control scheme from the point of view of production and maintenance. It is based on the adaptive control methodologies to find PID controller parameters. Experiment studies were conducted to apply the adaptive control scheme and evaluate the performance of the proposed control scheme with those of the conventional control schemes.

  • 무인항공기의 에일러론 및 플랩, 엘리베이터 등을 제어하기위한 작동기들은 구조적으로 Time variant한 비선형적인 특성을 가지고 있을 뿐 아니라, 비행 중에 풍향 및 풍량에 따라 모델링하기 힘든 외란이 발생할 경우가 많이 발생하기 때문에 우수한 제어성능을 보이는 제어기 설계에 많은 어려움이 있었다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 PID 제어기의 장점을 그대로 살리면서 실시간으로 변화하는 시스템에 adaptive하게 대응할 수 있고 Auto gain tuning을 이용하여 개발자의 시간과 노력을 현저히 줄일 수 있는 Fuzzy Auto gain tuning PID 제어 알고리즘을 비행체 Actuator 제어에 적용한 연구내용을 기술하였다.

Immune Algorithms Based 2-DOF Controller Design and Tuning For Power Stabilizer

  • In this paper the structure of 2-DOF controller based on artificial immune network algorithms has been suggested for nonlinear system. Up to present time, a number of structures of the 2-DOF controllers are considered as 2-DOF (2-Degrees Of Freedom) control functions. However, a general view is provided that they are the special cases of either the state feedback or the modification of PID controllers. On the other hand, the immune network system possesses a self organizing and distributed memory, also it has an adaptive function by feed back law to its external environment and allows a PDP (parallel distributed processing) network to complete patterns against the environmental situation, since antibody recognizes specific antigens which are the foreign substances that invade living creatures. Therefore, it can provide optimal solution to external environment. Simulation results by immune based 2-DOF controller reveal that immune algorithm is an effective approach to search for 2-DOF controller.

  • Continuous-time controller design is proposed using feedback system identification in frequency domain. System stability imposed by a new controller is checked in the function of a conventional closed-loop system, instead of a poorly modeled plant due to non-linearity and disturbance as well as unstable components, etc. The stability of the system is evaluated in view of Nyquist stability. All the equations are formulated in the framework of the discrete-time system. Simulation results are shown on the plant with input saturation and DC disturbance.

  • 본 논문에서는 비선형 동적 마찰 성분을 효과적으로 보상하고 적응적으로 제어함으로써 차세대 항만 자동화 이송시스템으로 주목받고 있는 LMTT(linear motor-based transfer technology)의 위치 정밀도를 향상시키는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 셔틀카(shuttle car)와 컨테이너들의 다양한 중량과, 이로 인해 발생하는 동적 마찰 특성 파라미터들을 정확하게 추정할 수 있는 관측기를 설계하였다. 적응 backstepping 제어 기법을 적용하여 시스템이 안정하게 제어될 수 있도록 하는 제어기를 설계하였다. 시스템은 변화하는 환경에 대하여 높은 적응성을 가질 수 있어 여러 종류의 부하는 물론 마찰 특성의 변화에도 양호한 제어 특성을 유지할 수 있었다. 제안한 제어시스템의 타당성을 보여주기 위해 축소된 형태의 LMTT 시뮬레이터를 제작하여, 이에 대해 시뮬레이션과 실험만을 수행하여 제안하는 방법의 타당성과 실현성을 입증하고자 하였다.

  • 일반적으로 서보 제어 시스템에서 비선형 동적 특성을 갖는 마찰력은 제어기 성능에 악영향을 미친다. 특히, 선형으로 고려된 시스템에 제어기 이득을 잘 설계한다 하더라도 마찰 현상에 포함된 동적으로 변화하는 dead zone에 의한 정상상태 오차 및 리미트 사이클(limit Cycle) 등을 야기한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 비선형 동적 마찰 성분을 효과적으로 보상하고 적응적으로 제어함으로써 차세대 항만 자동화 이송시스템으로 주목받고 있는 LMTT(linear motor-based transfer technology) 시스템의 위치 정밀도를 향상시키는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 본 제어대상은 셔틀카(shuttle car)와 컨테이너들의 다양한 중량과, 이로 인해 발생하는 동적 마찰 특성 파라미터들의 변화가 발생하므로 마찰력 내부 파라미터들의 추정이 요구된다. 제안하는 방법은 적응 backstepping 제어 기법으로 시스템이 안정하게 제어될 수 있는 조건으로 내부 파라미터 추정기를 설계하여 비선형 동적 마찰력을 보상하도록 하였다.
