A Study on the Perceived Language and Non-verbal Communication and Lapport and Customer Satisfaction of Hospital Users : Focused on the Control Effect of Service Authenticity (병원이용객이 지각한 언어·비언어커뮤니케이션과 라포, 고객만족에 관한 연구 : 서비스진정성 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • This study is a descriptive survey using a self-reported survey method to understand the effect of language and non-verbal communication of medical service providers on customer satisfaction through Lapport and to determine the degree of impact on Lapport by adjusting perceived service authenticity. The data collection period was from April 5 to April 30, 2021. Using the convenience sampling method, data were collected from users of medical institutions located in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do, and a total of 306 valid questionnaires were used as statistical analysis data. The collected data were analyzed using the IBM SPSS statistics version 25.0 and AMOS 20.0 programs through a coding process. In the results of this study, it was found that the language and non-verbal communication of medical service providers influenced customer satisfaction through Lapport, and the perceived service authenticity in the relationship between each variable acts as a moderating effect. Considering that the language and non-verbal factors of the medical service provider are important in the interaction between the medical service provider and the hospital user, the medical service provider should take full account of the language and non-verbal factors and help the medical institution communicate with the hospital user.

The Study on the Current Status and Condition of Internet Addiction related to Disabled Person Information Technology Education (장애인 정보화교육에 따른 인터넷 중독 현황 및 실태에 관한 연구)

  • The analysis was conducted for studying the degree of internet addiction and the difference between addicted group and non-addicted group based on usage time. The target group is consisted of 30 people who receive the training at home. The purpose of this training is to reduce digital divide for the disabled with reduced mobility. As a result, the typical user group, less than the 31-point appeared as 4 cases, the potentially dangerous user I group, from 31 to 54 points appeared as 25 cases, the potentially dangerous user II group, from the 54-67 points appeared as only one person. However, there was no game addiction case, more than 67 points. In addition, there was no significant difference in impulsivity and aggression between the high-risk group of 9 persons using internet more than 2.7 hours and the typical user group of 21 persons with less risk. From the result, there are two possibilities. On the one hand, an increase of the usage time for the disabled might not lead to addiction. Or, on the other hand, a measure of addiction for non-disabled might not suitable for the disabled addiction examination.

Explicating Personal Health Informatics Experience (퍼스널 헬스케어 디바이스 사용자 경험 연구)

  • Recent advances in wearable devices and quantified-self movement increase the number of personal informatics application that may cause an concern to health industry and user. In this light, the goal of this study is to identify more effective ways of design and evaluation of personal informatics application for self-tracking and delivering health information to users. For this goal, this study conducted areal-world study that processes such that user can assess, be aware of, and self-reflect on their data and behavior activity. In doing so, this study aims to determine the psychological effects of forms of health feedback (comparative vs. non-comparative) and presentation modes (text vs. image) on users' tendencies toward health conservation. Results from a between-subjects experiment revealed that health information in a comparative and textual format was more effective in encouraging health conservation in participants than identical information presented in a non-comparative and image format. In addition, participants' level of health consciousness emerged as a significant predictor. Through this analysis of quantitative data and inferences, this study make a number of contributions to the user affordance research and its methodology of health informatics study and designing personal informatics application that support user's behavior change in various contexts.

A Visual Programming Environment for Medical Image Processing (의료영상처리를 위한 시각 프로그래밍 환경)

  • In medical image processing, if new technologies arc developed, they arc applied to real clinical cases. The results are to be analyzed by doctors to improve the new technologies. So, it is important for doctors to have a tool that helps the doctors in applying the new technologies to clinical cases and analyzing the clinical results. In this paper, we design and implement a visual programming environment where non-programming experts, such as medical doctors, can easily compose a medical image processing application program. A set of image processing functions are implemented and represented as icons. Thc user selects functions by clicking correslxmding icons. The users can easily find necessary' functions from the visualized library. A user selects a function from the visualized library and [Jut the function node into a canvas of Visual Programming Interface. The user connects nodes to compose a dataflow diagram. The connected dataflow diagram shows the now of the program. Hyperbolic Tree is helpful in visualizing a set of function icons in a single screen because it provides both the whole stmcture of the function Iihrary and the details of the focused functions at the same time. We also developed a CUI builder where the user interfaces of the medical image processing applications are composed. Therefore. non'programming experts such as physicians can apply new medical image processing algorithms to clinical cases without performing complex computer programming procedures.

An Investigation of Socio-Demographic Characteristics, Medical Use in Juvenile and Adolescents : Using Korea Health Panel Data (2015) (아동과 청소년의 인구사회학적 특성 및 의료이용 연구: 2015년 한국의료패널 자료를 이용하여)

  • Purpose : The aim of this study was to investigate patterns of medical use among juveniles and adolescents, including for chronic disease, in Korea. The study sought to do the following: (a) investigate the extent to which chronic diseases account for medical expenditures, (b) investigate and the socio-demographic characteristics associated with medical use, and (c) identify the differences in medical use between juveniles and adolescents. Methods : We used data from the 2015 Korean Health Panel and selected 12 variables. The socio-demographic characteristics investigated included, growth period (juvenile, adolescents), gender, family income, national basic livelihood act status, disability registration, and degree of disability. There were five medical factors that were considered: emergency room use, hospitalization use, hospital outpatient use, chronic disease, and medical expenditure. Data were analyzed using stepwise multiple and logistic regression. Results : The prevalence of chronic disability in juveniles and adolescents was 31.1 % and 1 %, respectively. The factors affecting medical expenditures included hospitalization use, hospital outpatient use, family income, disability, gender, chronic disease, and emergency room use ($R^2=.160$, p<.05). For national basic livelihood act recipients, the probability of having chronic disease was about 1.6 times higher (OR=1.597, 95 % CI=1.092-2.335, p=.016), compared with non-national basic livelihood act recipients. People with disabilities were 6.6 times more likely than those without disabilities to suffer from chronic disease (OR =6.571, 95 % CI=2.776-15.556, p<.001). Hospital outpatient user was 2.3 times higher than non-user (OR=2.260, 95 % CI=1.702-3.001, p<.001). Juveniles had a 1.7 times and 6.2 times higher likelihood of emergency rooms user (OR=1.654, 95 % CI=1.270-2.155, p<.001), and hospital outpatient user than adolescents (OR=6.208, 95 % CI=4.443-8.676, p<.001). Conclusion : The findings of this study suggest that health care services for juveniles is needed to manage chronic diseases that have an effect on medical expenditures.

User-Guidable Abstract Line Drawing of 2D Images (사용자 제어가 용이한 이차원 영상의 추상화된 라인 드로잉 생성)

  • We present a novel scheme for generating line drawings from 2D images, aiming to facilitate effective visual communication. In contrast to conventional edge detectors, our technique imitates the human line drawing process to generate lines effectively and intuitively. Our technique consists of three parts: line extraction, line rendering, and user guidance. In line extraction, we extract lines by estimating a likelihood function to effectively find the genuine shape boundaries. In line rendering, we consider the feature scale and the blurriness of lines with which the detail and the focus-level of lines are controlled. We also employ stroke textures to provide a variety of illustration styles. User guidance is allowed to modify the shapes and positions of lines interactively, where immediate response is provided by GPU implementation of most line extraction operations. Experimental results demonstrate that our technique generates various kinds of line drawings from 2D images enabled by the control over detail, focus, and style.

An User-driven Service Creation Architecture in Consumer Networking Environments (소비자 네트워킹 환경에서의 사용자 주도 서비스의 효율적 생성)

  • In a Web 2.0 context, users are exposed to numerous smart devices and services that allow real-time interaction between users (or consumers) and developers (or producers). For the provisioning of new user-created services based on user's context, the data management of service creation experiences becomes a non-trivial task. This article introduces a data model for service creation and then proposes a service creation management architecture which enables new service creation using the data model, the management of the service creation data, and the semantic service discovery across internal/external service repositories. The article also explains the use of the proposed architecture with two different scenarios: home and mobile environments. The proposed architecture for service creation data management offers consistent and seamless handling of the service creation data throughout its usage lifecycle.

  • Recently, the researches based on vision about user attention and action awareness are being pushed actively for human computer interaction. Among them, various applications of tabletop display system are developed more in accordance with touch sensing technique, co-located and collaborative work. Formerly, although supported only one user, support multi-user at present. Therefore, collaborative work and interaction of four elements (human, computer, displayed objects, physical objects) that is ultimate goal of tabletop display are realizable. Generally, tabletop display system designs according to four key aspects. 1)multi-touch interaction using bare hands. 2)implementation of collaborative work, simultaneous user interaction. 3)direct touch interaction. 4)use of physical objects as an interaction tool. In this paper, we describe a critical analysis of the state-of-the-art in advanced multi-touch sensing techniques for tabletop display system according to the four methods: vision based method, non-vision based method, top-down projection system and rear projection system. And we also discuss some problems and practical applications in the research field.

  • Mobile payment service is a new innovating technology in the micro payment industry. Although it emerged only one or two years a9o in Korea, it is now highly used and prospered by many online companies. Traditional studies concerning the electronic payment system are usually about the payment process itself, so they stressed the security or the robustness of the process. The study from the angle of behavioral science seldom exists. This article describes the phenomenon of technology adoption with a particular focus on telephone Payment service. The article identifies which characteristic of the telephone payment service affects to the user status (user, non-users). To do this, this article mainly used Roger's Technology Acceptance Model and some characteristics are added to the model. The most important perceptual characteristic that affects to the user status was not security, but ease of use-the telephone payment service had to enhance continuously for the competitive advantage over the other payment service. Observability and convenience are also noted as important.

  • In spite of continuous implementation of the transportation demand management (TDM), the profuse use of car at the peak-time has caused chronic traffic congestion in the Seoul downtown area. This study makes a comparative analysis on the effectiveness of commuting cost subsidy system for public transit user with other policy instruments such as an increment in fuel tax and park cost. This study not only follows standard guidelines of stated preference methodology to guarantee objectivity, but also uses sample enumeration method and non-Parametric bootstrapping method to secure reliability of empirical results. As a result of empirical studies, the conversion effect of car to public transit is superior to other two Policy instruments. Also. an increment in fuel tax and park cost is income-regressive from the equity aspect in a wage bracket, but commuting cost subsidy system for Public transit user is Income-progressive As a fundamental research on commuting cost subsidy system for public transit user, this study is likely to Provide Policy-makers with quantitative information useful in establishing Public transport Policy to Promote the use of the public transit.
