재료의 선택적 사용에 의한 금형의 국부적 유도가열기법 (Localized Induction-Heating Method by the Use of Selective Mold Material)

  • High-frequency induction is an efficient way to heat mold surface by electromagnetic induction in a non-contact procedure. Though the induction heating has an advantage in terms of its rapid-heating capacity on the mold surface, it still has a restriction on mold temperature control due to geometric restriction of an induction coil according to the mold shape. It has been recently applied to the injection molding of thin-walled parts or micro/nano structures. For localized induction heating, an injection mold composed of ferromagnetic material and paramagnetic material is used. The electromagnetic induction concentrates on the ferromagnetic material, from which we can selectively heat for the local mold elements. The present study proposed a localized induction heating method by means of selective use of mold material. The feasibility of the proposed heating method is investigated through the comparison of experimental observations according to the mold material.

지역사회 고혈압 환자의 비만도에 따른 식습관 , 영양상태 및 고혈압관리 실태 (A Comparative Study on Food Habits and Nutrient Intakes with Body Mass Index of Hypertensive Patients commuting to a Local Health Center)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare food habits and nutrient intakes with body mass index of hypertensive patients commuting to a Local Health Center. A total of 85 patients were divided into two groups according to BMI. The non-obese group comprised 43 subjects with BMI below 25㎏/$m^2$ , while the obese group comprised 42 subjects with BMI above 25㎏/$m^2$ . All Subjects were interviewed for general characteristics, food habits, clinical characteristics, effort for health maintenance and the knowledge of hypertension and nutrition. Anthropometric assessments such as weight, height, waist-hip ratio and biochemical measurement of blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and fasting blood glucose(FBG) were obtained from subjects. In general characteristics, smoking, drinking, exercise, and hypertension status were not significantly different between the two groups. Food habits and the means of daily energy and nutrients were not significantly different between the two groups. An analysis of the percentage of RDA(Recommended Dietary Allowances of Korea, 2000) consumed by patients showed that but for ascorbic acid and phosphorus, all nutrients were below the RDA. And intakes of vitamin $B_1$(P<0.001), vitamin $B_2$(P<0.01), niacin(P<0.001) of the obese group were significantly lower than that of the non-obese group. Blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and fasting blood glucose were in the normal range and there was not a significant difference in the two groups. Therefore, more effective nutrition education programs about exercise, smoking, caloric intake, vitamins and minerals are required for hypertensive patients commuting to Local Health Center.

An efficient ship detection method for KOMPSAT-5 synthetic aperture radar imagery based on adaptive filtering approach

  • Ship detection in synthetic aperture radar(SAR)imagery has long been an active research topic and has many applications. In this paper,we propose an efficient method for detecting ships from SAR imagery using filtering. This method exploits ship masking using a median filter that considers maximum ship sizes and detects ships from the reference image, to which a Non-Local means (NL-means) filter is applied for speckle de-noising and a differential image created from the difference between the reference image and the median filtered image. As the pixels of the ship in the SAR imagery have sufficiently higher values than the surrounding sea, the ship detection process is composed primarily of filtering based on this characteristic. The performance test for this method is validated using KOMPSAT-5 (Korea Multi-Purpose Satellite-5) SAR imagery. According to the accuracy assessment, the overall accuracy of the region that does not include land is 76.79%, and user accuracy is 71.31%. It is demonstrated that the proposed detection method is suitable to detect ships in SAR imagery and enables us to detect ships more easily and efficiently.

  • 에지는 영상에 포함된 물체의 크기, 방향, 위치 등을 쉽게 획득할 수 있는 특징 정보이며, 에지 검출은 물체 검출, 물체 인식 등의 여러 영상 처리 응용 분야에서 전처리 과정으로 활용되고 있다. 기존의 에지 검출 방법에는 Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts 에지 검출 방법 등이 있다. 이러한 기존의 에지 검출 방법들은 구현이 간단하며, 고정 가중치 마스크를 적용하므로 에지 검출 특성이 다소 미흡하다. 따라서 기존의 에지 검출 방법들의 문제점을 보완하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 국부 마스크 내의 평균 및 표준편차에 따라 가중치를 적용한 후 에지를 검출하는 알고리즘을 제안하였다.

The Role of Small Airports in the Distribution and Logistics of Local Produce in India: A Proposal for Business Efficiency

  • Purpose: Small airports are social and economic enablers and facilitate businesses and individuals. They contribute significantly to the distribution and logistics of the local produce - be it goods or services, thereby impacting the economy but have limited access to funds and poor management restricts their development. Despite the importance, small airports in small cities struggle financially as they are unable to earn profits and have higher operating costs. In other words, this is a paradoxical situation for small airports wherein, despite losses, the regional or national public authorities still finance such airports under socio-economic obligations. Therefore, this study aims to identify the critical success factors for improving small airports' performance and propose a business model. Research design, data and methodology: Using the qualitative research, interviews with 16 stakeholders from Guwahati, Tirupati, Bhubaneswar and Dehradun airports in india were examined. Results: The analysis reveals strategic planning and low cost, non-passenger services, and development of airport economic region as the main factors contributing towards small airports' success. Additionally, providing logistics to the local businesses and creating niche markets are suggested. Conclusions: Small airports, based on their services and the means of targeting customers, could select the relevant approach to improve their overall performance and improve profitability.

일본 커뮤니티 시네마를 활용한 도시재생 사례 연구 - 후카야 시네마(深谷シネマ)를 중심으로 - (A case study on Urban Regeneration utilizing Community Cinema from Japan: Focused on Fukaya Cinema)

  • 멀티플렉스의 보급이 대중들의 영화향유권 확장과 영화산업 발전에 기여한 것은 사실이다. 그러나 도시 담론적 측면에서 볼 때 신도심을 중심으로 들어선 멀티플렉스는 구도심의 공동화 현상을 야기하고 있다. 특히 구도심 상권의 침체로 인해 지역민들의 '삶의 기억'이 저장된 상징적인 문화예술 공간인 지역극장마저 사라지고 있는 점은 안타까운 일이 아닐 수 없다. 일찍이 일본에서는 창조적 도시재생의 주요 수단으로 영화·영상콘텐츠에 주목하여 다양한 활동을 전개하고 있다. 그중에서도 '커뮤니티 시네마(Community Cinema)'는 지역극장의 부활을 통해 지역사회의 영화상영 환경을 개선하고, 나아가 관련 문화와 산업을 창출하여 지역 활성화에 이바지하고 있다. 본고에서는 지역민의 자생적인 NPO(Non-Profit Organization) 단체로 출발하여 지역 TMO(Town Management Organization)와의 협업 속에서 지역의 폐 산업시설을 마을 영화관으로 재활용한 '후카야 시네마(深谷シネマ)'에 주목하고자 한다. '커뮤니티 비즈니스(Community Business)' 형태로 운영되는 후카야 시네마는 지역 커뮤니티의 문화예술 거점시설로서 영화·영상콘텐츠를 활용한 도시재생의 가능성을 보여준 매우 의미 있는 사례로 평가받고 있다. 따라서 후카야 시네마의 구체적인 설립과정과 활동내용을 살펴보고, 그 시사점을 도출하고자 한다. 이를 통해 영화·영상콘텐츠를 활용한 도시재생의 기초자료를 제공하고자 한다.

Pt 함량에 따른 CoCrPt 합금박막의 국소보자력 분포 변화 (Variation of Local Coercivity Distribution in CoCrPt Alloy Films with Pt Composition)

  • CoCrPt 합금박막의 국소보자력 분포를 400nm공간분해능으로 8000개의 국소영역을 동시에 측정할 수 있는 광자기 현미경 자력계로 관찰하였다. 시료들은 dc 마그네트론 스퍼터링 방식으로 Pt 함량을 6 at.%에서 28 at.%로 변화시키며 제작되었다. Pt 함량이 증가함에 따라 ,국소보자력 분포가 정규분포에서 비정규분포로 변화하며 국소보자력 분포폭이 증가함을 발견하였다. 투과전자현미경으로 관찰한 미세구조를 분석한 결과는 국소보자력 분포 변화가 결정립의 크기 분포 및 평균크기 변화와 깊이 연관되어 있음을 나타내었다.

농어촌지역 응급환자 실태조사 - 서남해안 지역을 중심으로 - (Research on Actual Condition of Emergency Patients in Farming and Fishing Villages - In southwest coast district center -)

  • Purpose: This study aims to examine characteristics and actual conditions of patients using emergency room at farming and fishing villages, solve overcrowding of emergency room at the tertiary hospital and activate local emergency clinics. Methods: It examines department of diagnosis and treatment, vehicles used, sex, age, residential area, visit hour, length of stay, presence or absence of trauma, measures after first aid and degree of severity based on medical records of 6,740 patients using emergency room at farming and fishing villages from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2005. Conclusion : 1. Sex distribution of patients of emergency room was male 54.9% and female 45.1% and age distribution between over 40 and below 50 was most as 15.9%. 2. Transport means to emergency room were 91.4 of private car and others (public transport and going on foot), 7.5 of 119, 129 and police car and 1.0% of ambulance. 3. According to distribution of residential areas of emergency patients, 38.9% were Eup area, 42.1% Myeon area, 11.4% distant area and 7.5% adjacent area. 4. According to distribution of emergency patients by department of diagnosis and treatment, internal medicine was most as 35.8% and 55% of patients visited emergency room from 3:31 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.. 5. According to total hours of diagnosis and treatment of subjects, 51.2% were within 30min. and cases of non-trauma disease were 68.2%. 6. According to degree of emergency of emergency patients, non-emergency cases were 65.3%, urgent cases 27.7% and emergency cases 7.0% and 74.2% of patients returned home after first aid and 20.6% of them hospitalized. In conclusion, characteristics and diversification of patients should be examined and efforts by government and local medical institutions which must organize emergency system and facility and personnel levels suitable to regional conditions are needed in order to prevent overcrowding of emergency center of the tertiary hospital and activate local emergency center.

홍수매핑을 위한 레이더 영상 필터의 비교분석 (Comparative Analysis among Radar Image Filters for Flood Mapping)

  • 기상과 시간의 제약을 받지 않고 영상을 획득할 수 있는 레이더 위성 영상은 오랫동안 홍수 탐지 분야에서 이용되어 왔다. 많은 연구들이 홍수를 효율적으로 탐지하기 위하여 다양한 기법들을 적용하였고 그 결과 홍수 지역의 탐지율은 비약적으로 상승하였다. 홍수는 침수피해를 유발하는 특성상 침수지와 비침수지의 경계 부분이 뚜렷하게 구분돼야하고 아주 세밀한 탐지가 가능해야한다. 이를 위해서는 레이더 자체의 해상도가 좋아야 할 뿐만 아니라 필터링 과정에서 해상도 저하를 최소화해야 한다. 레이더 위성의 해상도는 기술이 발전함에 따라 고해상도의 위성이 증가하고 있지만 필터링 기법을 달리하여 홍수 탐지의 정확도 및 효율성을 비교하여 홍수탐지에 적합한 필터링을 찾는 연구는 부족한 것이 현실이다. 본 연구에서는 Lee, Frost, NL-means(Non-Local means) 필터링을 위성레이더 영상에 적용하였고 필터링된 영상을 이용하여 홍수 지도를 생성한 뒤 각각의 결과를 비교하였다. Frost와 NL-means 필터는 Lee 필터에 비해 스펙클 노이즈를 저감하는데 효과적이었다. 하지만 Frost 필터의 경우에는 해상도의 저하가 심하다는 문제가 있었다. NL-means 필터는 다른 필터에 비해 shadow 현상을 효과적으로 제거하지 못하였고 이로 인해 잘못 탐지되는 픽셀이 존재한다는 문제가 있었다. 그럼에도 전체 영상의 픽셀 수에 비해 shadow 효과의 영향을 받아 오탐지되는 픽셀 수가 많지 않기 때문에 NL-means 필터를 이용한 경우가 가장 높은 홍수 탐지율을 보였다. 테스트 지역에서 필터링이 적용되지 않은 영상을 이용하여 홍수를 탐지한 경우 카파계수가 0.55로 나타났고 Lee, Frost, NL-means 필터를 적용한 경우 각각 0.64, 0.74, 0.81로 나타났다. 또한 NL-means 필터를 적용한 영상은 해상도의 변화가 거의 없는 상태에서 노이즈를 효과적으로 감소하였기 때문에 침수지와 비침수지의 경계를 가장 명확하게 구분할 수 있어 효과적으로 분석 결과를 도출하였다.

친환경 농업기술의 발전방향 (Prospective of Sustainable Agriculture in Korea)

  • Over the last three decades, Korean farming system has been directed to maximum agricultural production and to increase farmer's income through adoption of high-yielding crop varieties and high input of agrochemicals . These farming practices have resulted in problems of water-quality deterioration, soil degradation , and food safety. At present, over 40 million tones of animal waste are bing produced annually, which amounts to disposing the waste at the annual rate of 20 tones per ha in the total area of farming land in Korea. Nearly a half of total available water resources is used as irrigation water predominantly for rice paddy field. Thus, non-point source contamination of the water resources has been linked to agriculture across the nation. However, the extent to which agriculture contributes to the water quality is not fully known. Recently, Korean government provided various institutional measures to reduce the negative impacts of agricultural practices on the environ ental quality, and the Agricultural Environment Act was also passed by the legislature in 1998 and became effective January 1999. This Act does not cover the broad spectrum of the sustainable agriculture ; thus, the limited incentives within this Act are arguably ineffective to control the non-point source pollution. Recently new bulk blending of fertilizers(BB fertilizer) are bing produced (100, 000 tones in 1998) with Government subsidies. The BB fertilizers are to balance N-P-K ratio in the soils . Although the use of the BB fertilizers are encouraged with Government subsidies, non-point source pollution is still serious and will become worse. Precision farming is regarded as a new means for sustainable agriculture. It is a new technology that modifies the existing techniques and incorporates new one such as GIS, GPS , differential applicator to produce a new set of tools for the farmer to use. Precision farming, however, has constraints for individual farming practices. For exam le , farm size or parcel unit of each farmer is too small to adopt the precision agriculture on farmhouse-hold bases and farmer's ability to adopt the new technology is limited. However, it would be appropriate to establish local or regional cooperatives to operate such a precision farming system. It is recommended that Government provide sufficient incentives to help establish local and/or regional cooperatives.
