  • This research was conducted to investigate the seasonal changes in physicochemical characteristics of stream water at the four points in the northeastern part of the Puk'ansan National Park from July of 1998 to November of 2000. The average pH of stream water was 6.6(6.53~6.74) and the dissolved oxygen was ranged from 11.0 to $11.3mg/{\ell}$, which indicated that the water quality could be categorized in the first class for the quality of river water quality standard. The average electrical conductivity of stream water was 106.8(52.3~154.0) ${\mu}S/cm$ and the electrical conductivities of downstream water were ranged from 139.4 to $154{\mu}S/cm$, which were about 1.7~3.0 times higher than those in upstream water that showed from 52.3 to $81.6{\mu}S/cm$. The amount of anion($Cl^-$, $NO{_3}^-$, $SO{_4}^{2-}$) which indicates the pollution index in downstream was higher than that in upstream, In addition, the seasonal impacts of pollution on stream water were higher in Autumn than in Spring or Summer.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the change in the girth of anthropometric variables during menstrual cycle, and to provide basal data for health promotion program development during pre-menstrual phase and menstrual phase. Participants were 10 healthy women university students without menstrual irregularity, subjective premenstrual syndrome, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, dymenorrhea, obstetrician and gynecologic disease. Chest girth(axillary and papillary), waist girth(half point between iliac crest and 12th rib, and navel), and hip girth were repeatedly measured in menstrual phase, follicular phase, luteal phase during single menstrual cycle. As a result, axillary chest girth in menstrual phase was significantly increased than that in luteal phase. Papillary chest girth and waist girth at half point between iliac crest and 12th rib in menstrual phase were significantly increased than those in follicular phase. No significance was shown in chest and waist girth between follicular and luteal phase. No significance was shown in hip girth during menstrual cycle. In conclusion, signicant difference was shown in chest and waist girth during menstrual cycle. And it is suggested that succeeding research should be carried out with reference to body weight, body fat, blood and local hormone concentration during menstrual cycle.

  • Flux cored arc welding (FCAW), which is used widely in many fields, such as shipyards, bridge structures, construction machinery, and plant industry, is an alternative to shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). FCAW is used largely in the welding of carbon and alloy steel because it can be welded in all poses and obtain excellent quality in the field under a range of working conditions. In this study, the mechanical properties of welded parts were analyzed after different welding of SS400 and SM490A using FCAW. The following conclusions were drawn. The tensile test results satisfied the KS standard tensile strength in the range of 400~510 N/mm2 in all welding positions. The bending test confirmed that most of the specimens did not show surface breakage or other defects during bending and exhibited sufficient toughness, even after plastic deformation. The hardness test results were lower than the standard value of 350 Hv of KS B 0893. Similar to the hardness test, were greater than the KS reference value. The macro test revealed no internal flaws, non-metallic inclusions, bubbles or impurities on the entire cross section of the weld, and there were no concerns regarding lamination.

  • In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, countries around the world are conducting projects to rapidly expand smart factory to secure competitiveness in manufacturing industries. However, unlike existing factories where the network environment was closed, smart factories can be vulnerable because internal and external objects are interconnected and various ICT technologies are used. And smart factories are likely to be the subject of cyber-attacks that are designed to cause monetary damage to certain targets because economic damage is so serious when an accident occurs. Therefore, it is necessary to study and apply security for smart factories, but there is no specific smart factory system architecture, so there is no establish for smart factory security requirements. In order to solve these problems, this paper derives the smart factory architecture that can extract and reflect the main characteristics of a smart factory based on the domestic and foreign reference model of smart factories. And this paper identifies the security threats based on the derived smart factory architecture and present the security requirements to cope with them for contributing to the improvement of the security of the smart factory.

  • Objectives: The Korean Dizziness Handicap Inventory (KDHI), which includes 25 patient-reported items, has been used to assess self-reported dizziness in Korean patients with Parkinson disease (PD). Nevertheless, few studies have examined the KDHI based on item-response theory within this population. The aim of our study was to address the feasibility and clinimetric properties of the KDHI instrument using polytomous Rasch measurement analysis. Methods: The unidimensionality, scale targeting, separation reliability, item difficulty (severity), and response category utility of the KDHI were statistically assessed based on the Andrich rating scale model. The utilities of the orderedresponse categories of the 3-point Likert scale were analyzed with reference to the probability curves of the response categories. The separation reliability of the KDHI was assessed based on person separation reliability (PSR), which is used to measure the capacity to discriminate among groups of patients with different levels of balance deficits. Results: Principal component analyses of residuals revealed that the KDHI had unidimensionality. The KHDI had satisfactory PSR and there were no disordered thresholds in the 3-point rating scale. However, the KDHI showed several issues for inappropriate scale targeting and misfit items (items 1 and 2) for Rasch model. Conclusions: The KDHI provide unidimensional measures of imbalance symptoms in patients with PD with adequate separation reliability. There was no statistical evidence of disorder in polytomous rating scales. The Rasch analysis results suggest that the KDHI is a reliable scale for measuring the imbalance symptoms in PD patients, and identified parts for possible amendments in order to further improve the linear metric scale.

  • In May 2010, Indonesia and Norway signed a Letter of Intent on "Cooperation on Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation(REDD)." In the LoI, Norway agreed to offer Indonesia a sum of USD 1 billion with a view to encourage Indonesia to significantly contribute to the successful implementation of REDD+. On 20 May 2011, correspondingly, Indonesia announced the 2011 'Forest Moratorium' (the Presidential Instruction No. 10/2011) which was valid for the following consecutive two years. By means of the 2011 'Forest Moratorium', Indonesia aimed at significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation, forest degradation and peatland conversion. In so doing, it also sought to improve forest governance. Meanwhile, concerned stakeholders also raised various questions about the effectiveness of the 'Forest Moratorium'. As an extension of the 2011 'Forest Moratorium', Indonesia announced the 2013 'Forest Moratorium'(the Presidential Instruction No. 6/2013) for another two-year period on 13 May 2013. Indonesia's 'Forest Moratorium' is concerned with stakeholders at various levels, who may play a role of significant 'agent' in the process of implementing the 'Forest Moratorium'. This mechanism of the 'Forest Moratorium' should be understood in the light of forest governance. Employing stakeholder approach, therefore, this article attempts to analyze Indonesia's 'Forest Moratorium' in the light of forest governance. In this regard, it analyzes the detailed contents of the 'Forest Moratorium', the process of making the 'Forest Moratorium', current development of the Indicative Moratorium Map for suspension of new concessions on forest land, and contesting views of various stakeholders. At the same time, it also talks about how 'weak' forest governance had influence upon Indonesia's 'Forest Moratorium'. In so doing, this article consequently attempts to evaluate Indonesia's 'Forest Moratorium' and also put it into perspective in terms of improving forest governance. The 2013 'Forest Moratorium' fundamentally represents a radical policy that is designed to suspend new concessions on forest conversion for another two-year period and its detailed contents attempt to reflect on various stakeholders from related industries and environmental NGOs. However, there are challenging factors in the process of implementing the 'Forest Moratorium', that is, 'weak' forest governance and also a discrepancy between forest planning maps designated by central and regional governments. The announcement of the 2013 'Forest Moratorium', as an extension of the 2011 'Forest Moratorium', may functionally strengthen and improve Indonesia's forest governance. However, at the same time, there is a practical limit due to the fact that it is merely a Presidential Instruction that lacks legal binding.

  • In this study we sought to determine the food fraud by discriminating species of commercial seafood product such as Larimichthys polyactis, Larimichthys crocea, Pennahia argentatus, and Miichthys miiuy, which are difficult to morphologically discriminate. After amplifying the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene of the reference fish, the DNA sequences of the amplified PCR products were analyzed. As a result, a 655 bp sequence for species identification was selected for use as DNA barcodes. To confirm the DNA data and primer set, the DNA barcode sequence of each fish was compared to that in that in the NCBI. All of the DNA barcode data were matched with the gene sequence of each fish in the NCBI. A total of 32 processed seafood products (8 L. polyactis, 12 L. crocea, 3 Pennahia argentatus, and 9 Miichthys miiuy) were investigated. Homology of 97% or more in DNA sequences was judged as the same species. As a result of the monitoring, there were no discovered cases of forgery or alteration. However, the use of a raw material name having no matching standard name in the Korea Food Code may cause consumer confusion. Therefore, it is suggested that the standard name or scientific name be co-labeled with the raw material name on seafood products to prevent consumer confusion.

  • Purpose: This study compared the root canal anatomy between cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) images before and after biomechanical preparation and root canal filling. Materials and Methods: Isthmus-containing mesial roots of mandibular molars(n=14) were scanned by micro-CT and 3 CBCT devices: 3D Accuitomo 170 (ACC), NewTom 5G (N5G) and NewTom VGi evo (NEVO). Two calibrated observers evaluated the images for 2-dimensional quantitative parameters, the presence of debris or root perforation, and filling quality in the root canal and isthmus. The kappa coefficient, analysis of variance, and the Tukey test were used for statistical analyses(α=5%). Results: Substantial intra-observer agreement (κ=0.63) was found between micro-CT and ACC, N5G, and NEVO. Debris detection was difficult using ACC (42.9%), N5G (40.0%), and NEVO (40%), with no agreement between micro-CT and ACC, N5G, and NEVO (0.05<κ<0.12). After biomechanical preparation, 2.4%-4.8% of CBCT images showed root perforation that was absent on micro-CT. The 2D parameters showed satisfactory reproducibility between micro-CT and ACC, N5G, and NEVO (intraclass correlation coefficient: 0.60-0.73). Partially filled isthmuses were observed in 2.9% of the ACC images, 8.8% of the N5G and NEVO images, and 26.5% of the micro-CT images, with no agreement between micro-CT and ACC, and poor agreement between micro-CT and N5G and NEVO. Excellent agreement was found for area, perimeter, and the major and minor diameters, while the roundness measures were satisfactory. Conclusion: CBCT images aided in isthmus detection and classification, but did not allow their classification after biomechanical preparation and root canal filling.

  • Since the late 1990s, the BOT mode in China has been extensively used in the water sector in order to attract private investment, improve technical and operational efficiency, and expand the coverage of water services. The BOT mode has been hailed as this provides a win-win structure between the government and private players through formalized procedures and an optimal risk allocation. However, recent market analyses show that some foreign investors are reluctant to participate in the market or even retreat due to uncertainties and risks in the market. This study aims to explore various risks in the Chinese water BOT market based on the thorough literature review, fieldwork, and the case studies on the two wholly foreign-owned BOT water projects: the Chengdu No. 6 and the Shanghai Dachang Water Supply BOT projects. The research results indicate that the Chinese BOT market embraces high risks in political, institutional and legal, and financial systems. The key to a successful takeoff of the BOT mode in the Chinese water market depends on the extent to which the government will be able to remove risky factors in political, institutional and legal, and financing systems. This research outcome will provide a useful reference to the Korean construction companies which consider expanding business to overseas water markets in the form of public private partnership.

  • Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of susceptibility map-weighted imaging (SMwI) taken in different acquisition planes for discriminating patients with neurodegenerative parkinsonism from those without. Materials and Methods: This retrospective, observational, single-institution study enrolled consecutive patients who visited movement disorder clinics and underwent brain MRI and 18F-FP-CIT PET between September 2021 and December 2021. SMwI images were acquired in both the oblique (perpendicular to the midbrain) and the anterior commissure-posterior commissure (AC-PC) planes. Hyperintensity in the substantia nigra was determined by two neuroradiologists. 18F-FP-CIT PET was used as the reference standard. Inter-rater agreement was assessed using Cohen;s kappa coefficient. The diagnostic performance of SMwI in the two planes was analyzed separately for the right and left substantia nigra. Multivariable logistic regression analysis with generalized estimating equations was applied to compare the diagnostic performance of the two planes. Results: In total, 194 patients were included, of whom 105 and 103 had positive results on 18F-FP-CIT PET in the left and right substantia nigra, respectively. Good inter-rater agreement in the oblique (κ = 0.772/0.658 for left/right) and AC-PC planes (0.730/0.741 for left/right) was confirmed. The pooled sensitivities for two readers were 86.4% (178/206, left) and 83.3% (175/210, right) in the oblique plane and 87.4% (180/206, left) and 87.6% (184/210, right) in the AC-PC plane. The pooled specificities for two readers were 83.5% (152/182, left) and 82.0% (146/178, right) in the oblique plane, and 83.5% (152/182, left) and 86.0% (153/178, right) in the AC-PC plane. There were no significant differences in the diagnostic performance between the two planes (P > 0.05). Conclusion: There are no significant difference in the diagnostic performance of SMwI performed in the oblique and AC-PC plane in discriminating patients with parkinsonism from those without. This finding affirms that each institution may choose the imaging plane for SMwI according to their clinical settings.
