  • Background: Tobacco use is the single most important preventable risk factor for cancer. Surveillance of tobacco-related cancers (TRC) is critical for monitoring trends and evaluating tobacco control programmes. We analysed the trends of TRC and evaluated the population-based cancer registry (PBCR) in Delhi for simplicity, comparability, validity, timeliness and representativeness. Materials and Methods: We interviewed key informants, observed registry processes and analysed the PBCR dataset for the period 1988-2009 using the 2009 TRC definition of the International Agency for Research on Cancer. We calculated the percentages of morphologically verified cancers, death certificate-only (DCO) cases, missing values of key variables and the time between cancer diagnosis and registration or publication for the year 2009. Results: The number of new cancer cases increased from 5,854 to 15,244 (160%) during 1988-2009. TRC constituted 58% of all cancers among men and 47% among women in 2009. The age-adjusted incidence rates of TRC per 100,000 population increased from 64.2 to 97.3 among men, and from 66.2 to 69.2 among women during 1988-2009. Data on all cancer cases presenting at all major government and private health facilities are actively collected by the PBCR staff using standard paper-based forms. Data abstraction and coding is conducted manually following ICD-10 classifications. Eighty per cent of cases were morphologically verified and 1% were identified by death certificate only. Less than 1% of key variables had missing values. The median time to registration and publishing was 13 and 32 months, respectively. Conclusions: The burden of TRC in Delhi is high and increasing. The Delhi PBCR is well organized and generates high-quality, representative data. However, data could be published earlier if paper-based data are replaced by electronic data abstraction.

  • Recent technological advances in three-dimensional (3D) sensing devices and machine learning such as deep leaning has enabled data-driven 3D applications. Research on artificial intelligence has developed for the past few years and 3D deep learning has been introduced. This is the result of the availability of high-quality big data, increases in computing power, and development of new algorithms; before the introduction of 3D deep leaning, the main targets for deep learning were one-dimensional (1D) audio files and two-dimensional (2D) images. The research field of deep leaning has extended from discriminative models such as classification/segmentation/reconstruction models to generative models such as those including style transfer and generation of non-existing data. Unlike 2D learning, it is not easy to acquire 3D learning data. Although low-cost 3D data acquisition sensors have become increasingly popular owing to advances in 3D vision technology, the generation/acquisition of 3D data is still very difficult. Even if 3D data can be acquired, post-processing remains a significant problem. Moreover, it is not easy to directly apply existing network models such as convolution networks owing to the various ways in which 3D data is represented. In this paper, we summarize technological trends in AI-based 3D content generation.

  • Recently, information security accidents are becoming more advanced as social engineering attacks using new types of malicious codes such as phishing. Organizations have made various efforts to prevent information security incidents, but tend to rely on technical solutions. Nevertheless, not all security incidents can be prevented completely. In order to overcome the limitations of the information security approach that depends on these technologies, many researchers are increasingly interested in People-Centric Security. On the other hand, some researchers have applied behavioral economics to the information security field to understand human behavior and identify the consequences of the behavior. This study is a trend analysis study to grasp the recent research trend applying the concept and idea of behavioral economics to information security. We analyzed the research trends, research themes, research methodology, etc. As a result, the most part of previous research is focused on 'operational security' topics, and in the future, it is required to expand research themes and combine behavioral economics with security behavioral issues to identify frameworks and influencing factors.

  • In December 2019, when the novel coronavirus (nCoV) was identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China, the number of people belonging to post-90s generation among about 42,000 medical staffs personnel supporting Hubei was 12,000 or more, accounting for about 33.3% of the total number of personnel. The term "post-90s generation" generally indicates young people born from 1990 to 1999. The study scope is the 1990-2020 period between the birth of post-90s generation and present. Literature and empirical studies are performed. Generational characteristics and fashion trends shown only by post-90s generation through precedent studies and reports are as follows: First, generational characteristics of post-90s generation can be categorized into the following three characteristics: "sang wenhua", "collective loneliness", and "diversified identity". Second, fashion trends of the post-90s generation can be categorized into the following three characteristics: "new Chinese style fashion", "masstige fashion", and "de-labeling fashion". The above results show that the post-90s generation uses "culture" and "me" as keywords. Further, the above trend is consequently divided into the following two characteristics: "diversification" and "individualization". This is because the post-90s generation is directly affected by the reform and opening and the 9-year compulsory education policy of China compared to the previous generations; hence, these people are greatly influenced by Western culture and fashion as well as their own culture and fashion. It refers having a tendency to express one's individuality with a variety of tastes and styles.
