Nuclear energy is estimated by the machine learning method as the mathematical quantifications where neural networking is the major algorithm of the data propagations from input to output. As the aspect of nuclear energy, the other energy sources of the traditional carbon emission-characterized oil and coal are compared. The artificial intelligence (AI) oriented algorithm like the intelligence of a robot is applied to the modeling in which the mimicking of biological neurons is utilized in the mathematical calculations. There are graphs for nuclear priority weighted by climate factor and for carbon dioxide mitigation weighted by climate factor in which the carbon dioxide quantities are divided by the weighting that produces some results. Nuclear Priority and CO2 Mitigation values give the dimensionless values that are the comparative quantities with the normalization in 2010. The values are 1.0 in 2010 of the graphs which are changed to 24.318 and 0.0657 in 2040, respectively. So, the carbon dioxide emissions could be reduced in this study.
We acquire seismic data with regularly or irregularly missing traces, due to economic, environmental, and mechanical problems. Since these missing data adversely affect the results of seismic data processing and analysis, we need to reconstruct the missing data before subsequent processing. However, there are economic and temporal burdens to conducting further exploration and reconstructing missing parts. Many researchers have been studying interpolation methods to accurately reconstruct missing data. Recently, various machine learning technologies such as support vector regression, autoencoder, U-Net, ResNet, and generative adversarial network (GAN) have been applied in seismic data interpolation. In this study, by reviewing these studies, we found that not only neural network models, but also support vector regression models that have relatively simple structures can interpolate missing parts of seismic data effectively. We expect that future research can improve the interpolation performance of these machine learning models by using open-source field data, data augmentation, transfer learning, and regularization based on conventional interpolation technologies.
Seabed multiple reflections (seabed multiples) are the main cause of misinterpretations of primary reflections in both shot gathers and stack sections. Accordingly, seabed multiples need to be suppressed throughout data processing. Conventional model-driven methods, such as prediction-error deconvolution, Radon filtering, and data-driven methods, such as the surface-related multiple elimination technique, have been used to attenuate multiple reflections. However, the vast majority of processing workflows require time-consuming steps when testing and selecting the processing parameters in addition to computational power and skilled data-processing techniques. To attenuate seabed multiples in seismic reflection data, input gathers with seabed multiples and label gathers without seabed multiples were generated via numerical modeling using the Marmousi2 velocity structure. The training data consisted of normal-moveout-corrected common midpoint gathers fed into a U-Net neural network. The well-trained model was found to effectively attenuate the seabed multiples according to the image similarity between the prediction result and the target data, and demonstrated good applicability to field data.

Recent studies demonstrate that machine learning has expanded in the field of seismic interpretation. Many convolutional neural networks have been developed for seismic sequence identification, which is important for seismic interpretation. However, expense and time limitations indicate that there is insufficient data available to provide a sufficient dataset to train supervised machine learning programs to identify seismic sequences. In this study, patch division and data augmentation are applied to mitigate this lack of data. Furthermore, to obtain spatial information that could be lost during patch division, an artificial channel is added to the original data to indicate depth. Seismic sequence identification is performed using a U-Net network and the Netherlands F3 block dataset from the dGB Open Seismic Repository, which offers datasets for machine learning, and the predicted results are evaluated. The results show that patch-based U-Net seismic sequence identification is improved by data augmentation and the addition of an artificial channel.
The deep neural networks (DNN) that can replicate the behavior of the human expert who recognizes the characteristics of ECG waveform have been developed and studied to analyze ECG. However, although the existing DNNs can not provide the explanations for their decisions, those trials have attempted to determine whether patients have certain diseases or not and those decisions could not be accepted because of the absence of relating theoretical basis. In addition, these DNNs required a lot of training data to obtain sufficient accuracy in spite of the difficulty in the acquisition of relating clinical data. In this study, a small-sized continuous data processing DNN (C-DNN) was suggested to determine the simple characteristics of ECG wave that were not required additional explanations about its decisions and the C-DNN can be easily trained with small training data. Although it can analyze small input data that was selected in narrow region on whole ECG, it can continuously scan all ECG data and find important points such as start and end points of P, QRS and T waves within a short time. The star and end points of ECG waves determined by the C-DNNs were compared with the results performed by human experts to estimate the accuracies of the C-DNNs. The C-DNN has 150 inputs, 51 outputs, two hidden layers and one output layer. To find the start and end points, two C-DNNs were trained through deep learning technology and applied to a parameter acquisition algorithms. 12 lead ECG data measured in four patients and obtained through PhysioNet was processed to make training data by human experts. The accuracy of the C-DNNs were evaluated with extra data that were not used at deep learning by comparing the results between C-DNNs and human experts. The averages of the time differences between the C-DNNs and experts were 0.1 msec and 13.5 msec respectively and those standard deviations were 17.6 msec and 15.7 msec. The final step combining the results of C-DNN through the waveforms of 12 leads was successfully determined all 33 waves without error that the time differences of human experts decision were over 20 msec. The reliable decision of the ECG wave's start and end points benefits the acquisition of accurate ECG parameters such as the wave lengths, amplitudes and intervals of P, QRS and T waves.

Recently, neural network-based speech recognition has been studied to utilize the adaptivity and learnability of neural network models. However, conventional neural network models have difficulty in the co-articulation processing and the boundary detection of similar phonmes of the Korean speech. Also, in case of using one phonotopic map, learning speed may dramatically increase and inaccuracies may be caused because homogeneous learning and recognition method should be applied for heterogenous data. Hence, in this paper, a neural net typewriter has been designed using a hierarchical self-organizing classifier(HSOC), and related algorithms are presented. This HSOC, during its learing stage, distributed phoneme data on hierarchically structured multiple phonotopic maps, using Kohonen's self-organizing feature maps(SOFM). Presented and experimented in this paper were the algorithms for deciding the number of maps, map sizes, the selection of phonemes and their placement per map, an approapriate learning and preprocessing method per map. If maps are divided according to a priorlinguistic knowledge, we would have difficulty in acquiring linguistic knowledge and how to alpply it(e.g., processing extended phonemes). Contrarily, our HSOC has an advantage that multiple phonotopic maps suitable for given input data are self-organizable. The resulting three korean phonotopic maps are optimally labelled and have their own optimal preprocessing schemes, and also confirm to the conventional linguistic knowledge.

Recently, research on automation and unmanned operation of machines in the industrial field has been conducted with the advent of AI, Big data, and the IoT, which are the core technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The machines for these automation processes are controlled based on the data collected from the sensors attached to them, and further, the processes are managed. Conventionally, the abnormalities of sensors are periodically checked and managed. However, due to various environmental factors and situations in the industrial field, there are cases where the inspection due to the failure is not missed or failures are not detected to prevent damage due to sensor failure. In addition, even if a failure occurs, it is not immediately detected, which worsens the process loss. Therefore, in order to prevent damage caused by such a sudden sensor failure, it is necessary to identify the failure of the sensor in an embedded system in real-time and to diagnose the failure and determine the type for a quick response. In this paper, a deep neural network-based fault diagnosis system is designed and implemented using Raspberry Pi to classify typical sensor fault types such as erratic fault, hard-over fault, spike fault, and stuck fault. In order to diagnose sensor failure, the network is constructed using Google's proposed Inverted residual block structure of MobilieNetV2. The proposed scheme reduces memory usage and improves the performance of the conventional CNN technique to classify sensor faults.

Recently, DL (Deep Learning) has been rapidly applied in various fields. In particular, classification and object recognition from images are major tasks in computer vision. Most of the DL utilizing imagery is primarily based on the CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) and improving performance of the DL model is main issue. While most CNNs are involve with images for training data, this paper aims to classify and recognize objects using DSM (Digital Surface Model), and slope and aspect information derived from the DSM instead of images. The DSM data sets used in the experiment were established by DGPF (German Society for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics) and provided by ISPRS (International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing). The CNN-based SegNet model, that is evaluated as having excellent efficiency and performance, was used to train the data sets. In addition, this paper proposed a scheme for training data generation efficiently from the limited number of data. The results demonstrated DSM and derived data could be feasible for semantic classification with desirable accuracy using DL.
This study conducted an experiment using data mining techniques to develop prediction models of worker job turnover. The experiment used data from the '2015 Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey' by the Korea Employment Information Service. We developed the prediction models using a decision tree, Bayes net, and artificial neural network. We found that the decision tree-based prediction model reported the best accuracy. We also found that the six influential factors affecting employees' turnover intention are type of working time, job status, full-time or not full-time, regular working hours per week, regular working days per week, and personal development opportunities. From the decision tree-based prediction model, we derived 12 rules of employee turnover for all job types. Using the derived rules, we proposed helpful directions for enhancing workers' job tenure. In addition, we analyzed the influential factors affecting employees' job turnover intention according to four job types and derived rules for each: office (ten rules), culture and art (nine rules), construction (four rules), and information technology (six rules). Using the derived rules, we proposed customized directions for improving the job tenure for each group.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a representative symptom of sleep disorder caused by the obstruction of upper airway. Because OSA causes not only excessive daytime sleepiness and fatigue, hypertension and arrhythmia but also cardiac arrest and sudden death during sleep in the severe case, it is very important to detect the occurrence and the frequency of OSA. OSA is usually diagnosed through the laboratory-based Polysomnography (PSG) which is uncomfortable and expensive. Therefore researches to improve the disadvantages of PSG are needed and studies for the detection of OSA using only one or two parameters are being made as alternatives to PSG. In this paper, we developed an algorithm for the detection of OSA based on Heart Rate Variability (HRV). The proposed method is applied to the ECG data sets provided from PhysioNet which consist of learning set and training set. We extracted features for the detection of OSA such as average and standard deviation of 1 minute R-R interval, power spectrum of R-R interval and S-peak amplitude from data sets. These features are applied to the input of neural network. As a result, we obtained sensitivity of $89.66\%$ and specificity of $95.25\%$. It shows that the features suggested in this study are useful to detect OSA.
