  • This paper presents a control design for networked control systems (NCS) with uncertain time delay using model matching. The dynamics of the time delay are approximated through the Pade linearization and the uncertain delay term is recursively estimated by the recursive least square (LS) algorithm. Computer simulation illustrates that the proposed control compares favorably with a recently published control approach.

  • In this paper, a processing time and trafnc capacity analysis algorithm for RFID system using LBT-Random Searching scheme is proposed. Service time, carrier sensing time, additional delay time required for contiguous frequency channel occupancy, and additional delay time required for the contiguous using the same frequency channel are considered and the processing delay and frequency channel capacity are analyzed for the steady state operation of the system. The simulation results showing maximum capacity of the system and explaining the accuracy of the algorithm are provided.

  • Transcoding in the wireless mobile network is an important mechanism that reduces the delay time and improves the stream processing capacity. Wireless mobile streaming media services, however, have such problems as congestion, interference and delay due to narrow network bandwidth and limited resources. These problems degrade not only Quality of Service (QoS) but also responsiveness of the streaming media service. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a object version transcoding method. The proposed method analyzes the object versions to construct the transcoding graph. This paper utilizes a reference rate-based control function for an efficient streaming, and measures MVDS(Multiple Version Delay Saving) for an efficient delay savings. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism achieves improved performance in delay rate and cache hit rate compared with those of other existing methods.

  • Network uncertainties can vary the stability property of networked control system. Therefore, the performance and the stability variation of networked control system due to network uncertainties must be considered first in designing networked control system. In this paper, we present a new stability analysis method of networked control system with data loss and time delay. The proposed method can determine maximum allowable time delay and allowable transmission rate that preserves stability performance of networked control system. The results of the simulation validate effectiveness of our stability analysis methods.

  • The data link layer (DLL) of Foundation Fieldbus (FF) includes both token-passing and scheduling services. Periodic data are transmitted via the scheduling service, while time-critical and time-available data are transmitted via the token-passing service. This study developed a network interface board that implements the DLL of FF. Using the network interface board, this study experimentally evaluates the delay performance of the DLL of FF. This study measured the delay performance with respect to the change of the DLL parameters of FF, and investigated the relationship between the DLL parameters and network performance. The study also compared the experimental results with the results obtained from an analytical model.

  • This paper is related to a performance analysis of B-NT system, which is essential compositional equipment of B-ISDN access network. A simulator enabling performance analysis according to the change of network configuration topology and the change of user traffic is developed in this study. The developed B-NT, system simulator consists of graphic user interface module, simulation program automatic generator module, and B-NT system model library module. As examples of the results of performance analysis using the simulator, end-to-end user cell transmission delay time, queueing delay time in each system, and cell loss rate in the head node switch are presented. The simulator developed in this paper can be utilized in determining the network topology of B-NT system.

Efficient Message Scheduling for WDM Optical Networks with Minimizing Flow Time

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient sequencing technique, namely minimum Row time scheduling (MFTS), to manage variable-Iength message transmissions for single-hop passive starcoupled WDM optical networks. By considering not only the message length but also the state of the receivers and the tuning latency, the proposed protocol can reduce the average delay of the network greatly. This paper also introduces a new channel assignment technique latency minimizing scheduling (LMS), which aims to reduce the scheduling latency. We evaluate the proposed algorithm, using extensive discrete-event simulations, by comparing its performance with shortest job first (SJF) algorithm. We find that significant improvement in average delay could be achieved by MFTS algorithm. By combining the proposed message sequencing technique with the channel selection technique, the performance of the optical network could be further improved.

  • Effective identification of wireless channel in different scenarios or regions can solve the problems of multipath interference in process of wireless communication. In this paper, different characteristics of wireless channel are extracted based on the arrival time and received signal strength, such as the number of multipath, time delay and delay spread, to establish the feature vector set of wireless channel which is used to train backpropagation (BP) neural network to identify different wireless channels. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can accurately identify different wireless channels, and the accuracy can reach 97.59%.

  • In order to provide reliable power service and to prevent a potentail hazard and damage, it is important to detect high impedance fault in power distribution line. This paper presents a neural network based approach for the detection of high impedance faults. A time delay neural network has been selected and trained for the fault currents obtained from field experiments. Detection experiments have been performed with the data from four different high impedance surfaces. Experimental results indicated the feasibility of using TDNN for the detection of high impedance faults.

  • PURPOSES : This research is a study on the changes in the road network of the surrounding area is installed according to the Kiss & Ride Zone. METHODS : Estimating the transportation mode of students by using the Metropolitan household Surveys(2006) and estimating the O/D by Kiss & Ride ratio with the estimated data, then being applied to a method of reducing the number of lanes for certain sections of the road which would be installed with Kiss & Ride Zone. RESULTS : The reason why it is different for delay resolving time and the affected roads as the Kiss & Ride percentage change, was the impact of the Kiss & Ride Zone's installation position. CONCLUSIONS : The purpose of the study was to analyze the impact of the road network in accordance with the installation of Kiss & Ride Zone by using speed and queue delay resolving time, and it is a need to develop a quantitative evaluation technique which was using various indicators in impact analysis according to the installation of the traffic safety facilities in the future.
