  • At present, TICN has been developed and distributed for military command control. TICN is known as the 3.5G mobile communication technology based on WiBro, which shows technical limitation in the field operation situation. Accordingly, the drone-type base station platform is attracting attention as an alternative to overcome technical limitations such as difficulty in securing communication LoS and limiting expeditious network configuration. In this study, we performed simulation performance evaluation of drone-type base station operation in 28 GHz that is considered most suitable for cellular communication within mmWave frequency band. Specifically, we analyzed the changes in throughput and fairness performance according to radio resource management policies such as frequency reuse and scheduling in multi-cell topology. Through this, we tried to provide insights on the operation philosophy on drone-type base station.

  • A network of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) will be required to carry the traffics(CVR, VBR, UBR, ABR) generated by a wide range of services. The algorithm of WRR cell multiplexing is designed to serve no only CBR, VBR traffic but also ABR, UBR traffic in ATM. BSW algorithm was Proposed to carry on manage buffer efficiently at implementing of WRR scheduler. But, BSW a1gorithm cause serious degradation to the weight of each VC and the ratio of scheduler throughput because it allocates more weight than the weight allocated actually in VC and because it could not serve cell if the VC queue is empty. In this paper, we propose the WRR scheduling algorithm of BSW structure which improves the cell service ratio and cell delay. The proposed algorithm is capable of maintaining an allocated VC's weight correctly and decrease of average cell delay by serving other VC cell when empty in each VC queue and increase of cell service ratio as a whole.

  • Traditionally, Linear Shift Feedback Register (LFSR) has been widely employed to implement Cyclic Redundant Check (CRC) codes for a serial input. Since many applications including network and storage systems demand as high throughput as ever, various efforts have been made to implement CRC hardware to support parallel inputs. Among various parallel schemes, the look-ahead scheme is one of the most widely used schemes due to its short critical path. However, it is very cumbersome to design HDL codes for parallel CRC codes since the look-ahead scheme is inevitable to consider how register and input values move in the next cycles. Thus, this paper proposes a novel CRC hardware generator, which automatically produces HDL codes given a CRC polynomial and parallel factor. The experimental results verify the applicability to use the proposed generator by analyzing the synthesis results from the generated HDL code.

  • In this paper, I propose an modified back-off algorithm to improve the fairness for slotted ALOHA sensor networks. In hierarchical networks, the performance degradation of a specific node can cause degradation of the overall network performance in case the data transmitted by lower nodes is needed to be synthesized and processed by an upper node. Therefore it is important to ensure the fairness of transmission performance to all nodes. The proposed scheme choose a back-off time of a node considering the previous transmission results as well as the current transmission result. Moreover a node that failed to transmit consecutively is given gradually shorter back-off time but a node that is success to transmit consecutively is given gradually longer back-off time. Through simulations, I compare and analyze the performance of the proposed scheme with the binary exponential back-off algorithm(BEB). The results show that the proposed scheme reduces the throughput slightly compared to BEB but improves the fairness significantly.

  • Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) is adopted to enable effective and smooth communication among different networks. In some specific application, the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are used in IoT to gather peculiar data without the interaction of human. The WSNs are self-organizing in nature, so it mostly prefer multi-hop data forwarding. Thus to achieve better communication, a cross-layer routing strategy is preferred. In the cross-layer routing strategy, the routing processed through three layers such as transport, data link, and physical layer. Even though effective communication achieved via a cross-layer routing strategy, energy is another constraint in WSN assisted IoT. Cluster-based communication is one of the most used strategies for effectively preserving energy in WSN routing. This paper proposes a Bio-inspired cross-layer routing (BiHCLR) protocol to achieve effective and energy preserving routing in WSN assisted IoT. Initially, the deployed sensor nodes are arranged in the form of a grid as per the grid-based routing strategy. Then to enable energy preservation in BiHCLR, the fuzzy logic approach is executed to select the Cluster Head (CH) for every cell of the grid. Then a hybrid bio-inspired algorithm is used to select the routing path. The hybrid algorithm combines moth search and Salp Swarm optimization techniques. The performance of the proposed BiHCLR is evaluated based on the Quality of Service (QoS) analysis in terms of Packet loss, error bit rate, transmission delay, lifetime of network, buffer occupancy and throughput. Then these performances are validated based on comparison with conventional routing strategies like Fuzzy-rule-based Energy Efficient Clustering and Immune-Inspired Routing (FEEC-IIR), Neuro-Fuzzy- Emperor Penguin Optimization (NF-EPO), Fuzzy Reinforcement Learning-based Data Gathering (FRLDG) and Hierarchical Energy Efficient Data gathering (HEED). Ultimately the performance of the proposed BiHCLR outperforms all other conventional techniques.

  • After the COVID-19 pandemic, the spread of the untact culture and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which generates various types of data, generated so much data that it was not compared to before. This led to higher data throughput, revealing little by little the limitations of the existing network system centered on vendors and hardware. Recently, SDN technology centered on users and software that can overcome these limitations is attracting attention. In addition, SDN-based load balancing techniques are expected to increase efficiency in the load balancing area of the server cluster in the data center, which generates and processes vast and diverse data. Unlike existing SDN load distribution studies, this paper proposes a load distribution technique in which a controller checks the state of a server according to the occurrence of an event rather than periodic confirmation through a monitoring technique and allocates a user's request by weighting it according to a load ratio. As a result of the desired experiment, the proposed technique showed a better equal load balancing effect than the comparison technique, so it is expected to be more effective in a server cluster in a large and packet-flowing data center.

  • Cyber-physical systems (CPS) have been growing exponentially due to improved cloud-datacenter infrastructure-as-a-service (CDIaaS). Incremental expandability (scalability), Quality of Service (QoS) performance, and reliability are currently the automation focus on healthy Tier 4 CDIaaS. However, stable QoS is yet to be fully addressed in Cyber-physical data centers (CP-DCS). Also, balanced agility and flexibility for the application workloads need urgent attention. There is a need for a resilient and fault-tolerance scheme in terms of CPS routing service including Pod cluster reliability analytics that meets QoS requirements. Motivated by these concerns, our contributions are fourfold. First, a Distributed Non-Recursive Cloud Model (DNRCM) is proposed to support cyber-physical workloads for remote lab activities. Second, an efficient QoS stability model with Routh-Hurwitz criteria is established. Third, an evaluation of the CDIaaS DCN topology is validated for handling large-scale, traffic workloads. Network Function Virtualization (NFV) with Floodlight SDN controllers was adopted for the implementation of DNRCM with embedded rule-base in Open vSwitch engines. Fourth, QoS evaluation is carried out experimentally. Considering the non-recursive queuing delays with SDN isolation (logical), a lower queuing delay (19.65%) is observed. Without logical isolation, the average queuing delay is 80.34%. Without logical resource isolation, the fault tolerance yields 33.55%, while with logical isolation, it yields 66.44%. In terms of throughput, DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell offered 38.30%, 36.37%, and 25.53% respectively. Similarly, the DNRCM had an improved incremental scalability profile of 40.00%, while BCube and Recursive DCell had 33.33%, and 26.67% respectively. In terms of service availability, the DNRCM offered 52.10% compared with recursive BCube and DCell which yielded 34.72% and 13.18% respectively. The average delays obtained for DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell are 32.81%, 33.44%, and 33.75% respectively. Finally, workload utilization for DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell yielded 50.28%, 27.93%, and 21.79% respectively.

  • Recently, the Internet telephony has been used rather than the traditional telephony by many Internet users, with low cost. Session Initiation Protocol(SIP) is the standard of application layer protocol for establishment and disconnection of the session for Internet telephony. SIP mainly runs over the UDP for transport. So in case of the loss of the INVITE request message, the message is retransmitted by an appropriate timer for reliable transmission of the UDP message. Though the retransmission is useful for ensuring the reliability of SIP messages sent by the users, it may cause the overload traffic in the SIP proxy server. The overload in SIP proxy servers results in the loss of many input messages. This paper presents a non-linear overload control algorithm to resolve the overload condition of the server. we simulate our proposed algorithm using the network simulator ns-2. The simulation results show that the throughput of the server with the proposed algorithm have been improved about 12% compared to the existing linear control algorithm.

  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to analyze the microbial profile of individuals with peri-implantitis (PI) compared to those of periodontally healthy (PH) subjects and periodontitis (PT) subjects using Illumina sequencing. Methods: Buccal, supragingival, and subgingival plaque samples were collected from 109 subjects (PH: 30, PT: 49, and PI: 30). The V3-V4 region of 16S rRNA was sequenced and analyzed to profile the plaque microbiota. Results: Microbial community diversity in the PI group was higher than in the other groups, and the 3 groups showed significantly separated clusters in the buccal samples. The PI group showed different patterns of relative abundance from those in the PH and PT groups depending on the sampling site at both genus and phylum levels. In all samples, some bacterial species presented considerably higher relative abundances in the PI group than in the PH and PT groups, including Anaerotignum lactatifermentans, Bacteroides vulgatus, Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Olsenella uli, Parasutterella excrementihominis, Prevotella buccae, Pseudoramibacter alactolyticus, Treponema parvum, and Slackia exigua. Network analysis identified that several well-known periodontal pathogens and newly recognized bacteria were closely correlated with each other. Conclusions: The composition of the microbiota was considerably different in PI subjects compared to PH and PT subjects, and these results could shed light on the mechanisms involved in the development of PI.

  • Multiple antenna techniques employed in fourth generation mobile communication systems are affected on their performance mostly by transmission environments and antenna configurations. The performance of the indoor LTE(Long-term Evolution) MIMO(multiple input multiple output) has been rigorously evaluated with considering various diversity transmission schemes and propagation conditions in the paper. Specifically, MAC TP(medium access control throughput) and LTE system parameters related to the MIMO technique are analyzed for several indoor propagation conditions. The performance comparison between multiple antenna diversity mode and single antenna mode has been derived as well. The results performed in the paper give the guideline on antenna configurations of polarization diversity in LTE 2×2 MIMO for various indoor channel environments, and possibly are exploited by network operators and antenna manufacturers.
