In this paper, we design a lightweight embedded device that can support intelligent edge computing, and show that the device quickly detects an object in an image input from a camera device in real time. The proposed system can be applied to environments without pre-installed infrastructure, such as an intelligent video control system for industrial sites or military areas, or video security systems mounted on autonomous vehicles such as drones. The On-Device AI(Artificial intelligence) technology is increasingly required for the widespread application of intelligent vision recognition systems. Computing offloading from an image data acquisition device to a nearby edge device enables fast service with less network and system resources than AI services performed in the cloud. In addition, it is expected to be safely applied to various industries as it can reduce the attack surface vulnerable to various hacking attacks and minimize the disclosure of sensitive data.
One of the social aspects that changes as the use of the Internet becomes widespread is communication in online space. In the past, only one-on-one conversations were possible remotely, except when they were physically in the same space, but nowadays, technology has been developed to enable communication with a large number of people remotely through bulletin boards, communities, and social network services. Due to the development of such information and communication networks, life becomes more convenient, and at the same time, the damage caused by rapid information exchange is also constantly increasing. Recently, cyber crimes such as sending sexual messages or personal attacks to certain people with recognition on the Internet, such as not only entertainers but also influencers, have occurred, and some of those exposed to these cybercrime have committed suicide. In this paper, in order to reduce the damage caused by malicious comments, research a method for improving the performance of discriminate malicious comments through feature extraction based on parts-of-speech.
The pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, which has lasted for the past three years, has changed society and the way people live in many ways. These changes also affect cyberspace, so the pre-pandemic information security model and standards have limitations when applied to the current situation. In this paper, a new method to improve the information security model of public institutions was proposed in consideration of various situations in the new normal era. In other words, through the proposed information security model, the possibility of external intrusion is blocked in advance through the policy and technical supplementation of remote work, which is a weakness of the existing information security operation of public institutions. Also, how to prevent abnormal authentication attempts by building a secure VPN environment, how to prevent social engineering cyber attacks targeting fear and uncertainty caused by COVID-19, and how to use a smooth network and create a remote work environment. For this purpose, methods for securing service availability were additionally presented.

For more efficient energy management of nodes in wireless sensor networks, research has been conducted on mobile sink nodes that deliver data from sensor nodes to server recently. UAV (Unmanned Aerial vehicle) is used as a representative mobile sink node. Also, most studies on UAV propose algorithms for calculating optimal paths and have produced rapid advances in the IoD (Internet of Drones) environment. At the same time, some papers proposed mutual authentication and secure key exchange considering nature of the IoD, which requires efficient creation of multiple nodes and session keys in security perspective. However, most papers that proposed secure communication in mobile sink nodes did not protect end-to-end data privacy. Therefore, in this paper, we propose integrated security model that authentication between mobile sink nodes and sensor nodes to securely relay sensor data to base stations. Also, we show informal security analysis that our scheme is secure from various known attacks. Finally, we compare communication overhead with other key exchange schemes previously proposed.

When a variable message signs (VMS) system displays false information related to traffic safety caused by malicious attacks, it could pose a serious risk to drivers. If the normal message patterns displayed on the VMS system are learned, it would be possible to detect and respond to the anomalous messages quickly. This paper proposes a method for detecting anomalous messages by learning the normal patterns of messages using a bi-directional generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) network. In particular, the proposed method was trained using the normal messages and their system parameters to minimize the corresponding negative log-likelihood (NLL) values. After adequate training, the proposed method could detect an anomalous message when its NLL value was larger than a pre-specified threshold value. The experiment results showed that the proposed method could detect malicious messages and cases when the system error occurs.
Terrorists have been attacking in the vulnerable points of aviation sector with the diverse methods of attacks. Recently, Vulnerability is increasing because the Modus Operandi of Terrorism is carried out by exploitation of people in the form of employee working in aviation sector whose role provides them with privileged access to secured locations, secured items or security sensitive information. Furthermore, cases of insider threat are rising across the world with the phenomenon of personal radicalization through internet and social network service. The government of ROK must respond to insider threat could exploit to acts of unlawful interference and the security regulations should be established to prevent from insider threat in advance refer to the acts of unlawful interference carried out in foreign countries and the recommendations by USA, UK and ICAO.
We propose a two-stage Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) defense system, which can protect a given subnet by serving existing flows and new flows with a different priority based on IP history information. Denial of Service (DoS) usually occurs when the resource of a network node or link is limited and the demand of the users for that resource exceeds the capacity. The objective of the proposed defense system is to provide continued service to existing flows even in the presence of DDoS attacks. The proposed scheme can protect existing connections effectively with a smaller memory size by reducing the monitored IP address set through sampling and per-prefix history management. We evaluate the performance of the proposed scheme through simulation.

Adversarial training improves the robustness of deep neural networks for adversarial examples. However, the previous adversarial training method focuses only on the adversarial loss function, ignoring that even a small perturbation of the input layer causes a significant change in the hidden layer features. Consequently, the accuracy of a defended model is reduced for various untrained situations such as clean samples or other attack techniques. Therefore, an architectural perspective is necessary to improve feature representation power to solve this problem. In this paper, we apply an attention module that generates an attention map of an input image to a general model and performs PGD adversarial training upon the augmented model. In our experiments on the CIFAR-10 dataset, the attention augmented model showed higher accuracy than the general model regardless of the network structure. In particular, the robust accuracy of our approach was consistently higher for various attacks such as PGD, FGSM, and BIM and more powerful adversaries. By visualizing the attention map, we further confirmed that the attention module extracts features of the correct class even for adversarial examples.
Recently, due to the increase in the use of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the amount of data transmitted and processed to cloud computing servers has increased rapidly. As a result, network problems (delay, server overload and security threats) are emerging. In particular, edge computing with lower computational capabilities than cloud computing requires a lightweight authentication algorithm that can easily authenticate numerous IoT devices. In this paper, we proposed a key-agreement protocol of a lightweight algorithm that guarantees anonymity and forward and backward secrecy between IoT and edge devices. and the proposed algorithm is stable in MITM and replay attacks for edge device and IoT. As a result of comparing and analyzing the proposed key-agreement protocol with previous studies, it was shown that a lightweight protocol that can be efficiently used in IoT and edge devices.

Nowadays, fintech becomes the key technology of the mobile banking and payments. Financial market is moved to fintech-based non-face-to-face trade/payment from traditional face-to-face process in Korea. Core of this transition is the smartphones, which have several sensitive sensors for personal identifications such as fingerprint and iris recognition sensors. But it has some originated security risks by data path attacks, for instance, hacking and pharming. Multi-level certification and security systems are applied to avoid these threats effectively, while these protections can be cause of some inconvenience for non-face-to-face certifications and financing processes. In this paper, I confirmed that it have sensible differences correspond with the data connection paths such as WiFi networks and mobile communication networks of the smartphones, and I propose a gradual certification method which alleviates the inconvenience by risk-level definitions of the data-paths.
