Effect of Carbon Nanofiber Structure on Crystallization Kinetics of Polypropylene/Carbon Nanofiber Composites

  • Effect of heat treatment of carbon nanofibers (CNF) on electrical properties and crystallization behavior of polypropylene was reported. Two types of CNFs (untreated and heat treated at 2300 $^{\circ}C$) were incorporated into polypropylene (PP) using intensive mixing. A significant drop in volume resistivity was observed with composites containing untreated 5 wt % and heat treated 3 wt % CNF. In non-isothermal crystallization studies, both untreated and heat treated CNFs acted as nucleating agents. Composites with heat treated CNFs showed a higher crystallization temperature than composites with untreated CNFs did. TEM results of CNF revealed that an irregular structure of CNFs can be converted into the continuous graphitic structure after heat treatment. Furthermore, STM showed that the higher carbonization temperature leads to the higher graphite degree which presents the larger carbon network size, suggesting that a more graphitic structure of CNFs led to a higher crystallization temperature of PP.

  • In this thesis a shipping broker agent system, which can be executed by a CORBA-based environment using the distributed object technique, CORBA is designed and implemented Nowadays, while the EC system is extensive on the web, legacy host systems have limitations and its capacity-upgrade os required. In order to solve these problems the method that distributes programs into several computer systems can reduce their loads, set low system capacity and minimize network bottleneck. In this thesis using Agent Communication Language(ACL), we propose an agent based prototype and implement an intelligent agent prototype for ships search using CORBA, which can exchange and shiare data between different systems.

Multidisciplinary team approach for the management of patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer: searching the evidence to guide the decision

  • Locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) is composed of heterogeneous subgroups that require a multidisciplinary team approach in order to ensure optimal therapy for each patient. Since 2010, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network has recommended chemoradiation therapy (CRT) for bulky mediastinal disease and surgical combination for those patients with single-station N2 involvement who respond to neoadjuvant therapy. According to lung cancer tumor boards, thoracic surgeons make a decision on the resectability of the tumor, if it is determined to be unresectable, concurrent CRT (CCRT) is considered the next choice. However, the survival benefit of CCRT over sequential CRT or radiotherapy alone carries the risk of additional toxicity. Considering severe adverse events that may lead to death, fit patients who are able to tolerate CCRT must be identified by multidisciplinary tumor board. Decelerated approaches, such as sequential CRT or high-dose radiation alone may be a valuable alternative for patients who are not eligible for CCRT. As a new treatment strategy, investigators are interested in the application of the innovative radiation techniques, trimodality therapy combining surgery after high-dose definitive CCRT, and the combination of radiation with targeted or immunotherapy agents. The updated results and on-going studies are thoroughly reviewed in this article.

An Empirical Study on Emergency Medical Care Transportation Policy (응급의료 이송정책에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This research made a survey to 119 EMT laying stress on general contents connected with job in a frame of mutually organic cooperation system between the processes, composing Emergency Medical Care Transportation Policy in Korea, as a step before hospital, of happening emergency patients, 119 first-aid service of the spot, transportation of patients, construction of communication network etc.. As a result of analysis to that, it is found that there must be systematic devices which makes EMT not to be caught on medical dispute, a modernization of emergency equipments, professional first-aid agents, a proper personnel arrangement. Consequently, it suggests policy plan focusing on structural and functional aspect to improve an Emergency Medical Care Transportation system into a realistic one.

  • A value net is a business design that uses digital supply chain concepts to achieve both superior customer satisfaction and company profitability. In order to implement the value net model, information processing and distribution needs to occur in real time. Software agent technology is becoming popular due to the inherent characteristics of autonomy, distributedness and modularity. In this paper, we adopt agent technology to handle all real time decision process, making the value net model a complex multi-agent network of decision makers. For the agents to properly coordinate their respective activities we develop MAVN model, a Web-based multi-agent language grounded in the XML and Java.

  • Ubiquitous computing requires an intelligent environment where the users do not need to be involved in the operation. The agent technology allows effective implementation of ubiquitous system, while agent platform provides efficient and stable interaction between the agents. In this paper we propose a hierarchical P2P networking approach where the messages are combined inside the agent platform and then compressed in two levels. The proposed approach capitalizes the static nature of the messages of typical context-aware applications. Experiment with an actual multi-agent system reveals that the response time and throughput are significantly improved compared to the existing scheme.

  • Recently, there are lots of concerning on ubiquitous environment of robots and URC (Ubiquitous Robotic Companion). In this paper, a practical ubiquitous interface system far controlling mobile robots in indoor environments was proposed. The interface system was designed as a manager-agent model including a PC manager, a mobile manager, and robot agents for being able to be accessed by any network. In the system, the PC manager has a 3D virtual environment and shows real images for a human-friendly interface, and share the computation load of the robot such as path planning and managing geographical information. It also contains Hybrid Format Manager(HFM) working for transforming the image, position, and control data and interchanging them between the robots and the managers. Mobile manager working in the minimized computing condition of handsets has a mobile interface environment displaying the real images and the position of the robot and being able to control the robots by pressing keys. Experimental results showed the proposed system was able to control robots rising wired and wireless LAN and mobile Internet.

  • Recently, network model inspired by social insect behavior attracts the public attention. The AntNet is an adaptive and distributed routing algorithm using mobile agents, called ants, that mimic the activities of social insect. In this paper. we present a new hardware architecture to realize an AntNet-based routing in practical system on a chip application. The modified AntNet algorithm for hardware implementation is compared with the original algorithm on the various traffic patterns and topologies. Implementation results show that the proposed architecture is suitable and efficient to realize adaptive routing based on the AntNet.

  • As it increase electronic commerce user rapidly, it is necessary to study on Improvement of performance for electronic commerce system. This paper suggests electronic commerce system using functionally distributed structure based on multi-agent and evaluate it's performance using prototype. In the suggested system, we use multi-agent using combined reasoning to offer a proper commodity information and meet the customer's requirement. And we can reduce load of the electronic commerce system with distribute agents both main server system and local server system functionally. In experiment result, we can confirm suggested electronic commerce system can prevent customer's unexpected long waiting causes by network traffic and server load, and can improve efficiency.

  • The total processing time nay vary according to the order of visit when a mobile agent is sequentially migrated to another node. An effective migration algorithm is one in which the processing time is kept to its minimum from the initial state to the destination state by ordering the process. The total time spend for the process can be minimized by adopting an effective migration algorithm. Existing mobile agents such as Aglets. Voyager, and Odyssey do not guarantee the effectiveness by not taking the status of the network and the node to be moved into upon the migration. This paper proposes AMIS as the method used for the migration of the mobile agent. AMIS minimizes the total migration time of the mobile agent, and provides a firm and safe order for the migration of the mobile agent.
