A reformer, which produces hydrogen from natural gas, plays a major role for producing quality hydrogen to fuel-cell system. In this paper, fuel processor is designed to deliver hydrogen(75%) from the reformer to 200W fuel-cell system, and the electrical output power of the fuel-cells is examined by being injected different hydrogen concentrations to the system. We verified that the output power characteristics of the fuel-cells with 75% reformed hydrogen was lower about 7% than the case of pure hydrogen supplied. The type of reformer in this experiment takes SMR(Steam methane reforming) process, and the temperature variation characteristics of reforming process by reactions are examined in operation.
Customers' requirements written in a natural language are rewritten to modeling language in development phases. In many cases, those who participate in development cannot understand requirements written in modeling language. This paper proposes the translation technique from the requirement model which is written by REED(REquirement EDitor) tool into a natural language in order to help for the customer understanding requirement model. This technique consists of three phases: $1^{st}$ phase is generating the IORT(Input-Output Relation Tree), $2^{nd}$ phase is generating the RTT(Requirement Translation Tree), $3^{rd}$ phase is translating into a natural language.
After an earthquake, information regarding potential damage to buildings close to the epicenter is very important during the initial emergency response. This study proposes the use of crowdsourced measured acceleration response data collected from smartphones located within buildings to perform system identification of building structures during earthquake excitations, and the feasibility of the proposed approach is studied. The principal advantage of using crowdsourced smartphone data is the potential to determine the condition of millions of buildings without incurring hardware, installation, and long-term maintenance costs. This study's goal is to assess the feasibility of identifying the lowest fundamental natural frequencies of buildings without knowing the orientations and precise locations of the crowds' smartphones in advance. Both input-output and output-only identification methods are used to identify the lowest fundamental natural frequencies of numerical finite element models of a real building structure. The effects of time synchronization and the orientation alignment between nearby smartphones on the identification results are discussed, and the proposed approach's performance is verified using large-scale shake table tests of a scaled steel building. The presented results illustrate the potential of using crowdsourced smartphone data with the proposed approach to identify the lowest fundamental natural frequencies of building structures, information that should be valuable in making emergency response decisions.
Purpose - This paper examines how differently output and input tariffs affect domestic employment across industrial characteristics of comparative advantage such as labor quality and capital intensity. Design/methodology - The paper focuses on 453 Korean industries from 2007 to 2014 because Korea is a typical example of a natural resource-scarce open economy and experienced the transition of the export pattern from labor intensity to technology intensity during this period. Findings - The results show that input tariff reduction stimulated total employment, focusing on the early 2010s, while the effects of output tariff reduction were statistically insignificant in general. However, the stimulation effects of output tariff reduction on employment were found in comparative advantage industries with greater labor quality and capital intensity. As for input tariff reduction, its stimulation effects on employment were more prominent in comparative disadvantage industries with lower labor quality and capital intensity. Originality/value - These results provide significant implications for natural resource-scarce open economies which are experiencing the transition of the export pattern from labor intensity to technology intensity and the unequal distribution of income after trade liberalization: imported intermediate inputs has become increasing important, leading to trade effects on employment and alleviation of income inequality.

In general, natural gas engine converted from gasoline engine has disadvantage of power decrease. In order to increase power output in natural gas engine, the improvement of in-cylinder flow motion has been believed as the most effective method. In this study, the geometry of combustion chamber in 4 valve DOHC natural gas engine is modified, and in-cylinder flow patterns are analyized. Also engine performance is evaluated according to the modification of in-cylinder flow motion.

Output performance improvement using fuzzy logic to the conventional control scheme for a magnetic levitation system is presented in this paper, Adverse characteristics of nonlinearity, unstability, system parameter variation, etc, in the levitation system are partially overcome by the general fuzzy control action. Using a PD type compensator, a coarse framework of output performance is provided to the levitation system. Then a fine regulation to the output performance requirement is obtained by the natural description of the control action in the form of fuzzy logic controller. This control action soothes the adverse characteristics of the levitation system. In this way a better output performance can be obtained in a real time experiment.

A cantilever-type piezoelectric generator has advantages of simple structure, ease of fabrication and large displacement by transverse vibration of a beam. It is easy to control the natural frequency, and also possible to increase the output power by changing the length, width, and thickness of the generator. In particular, the length increases, the natural frequency sharply decreases, and vice versa. Hence, the natural frequency can widely be controlled by using change in the length of elastic body. In this paper, the generator was designed and fabricated to change natural frequency using the slides of the case. In addition, the generating characteristics were confirmed through finite element analyses and vibration experiment. As a result, the maximum output characteristics could be generated due to resonance phenomenon although any frequency of external force was applied.

Marine production strings are continuously affected by unstable internal fluid during operation. In this paper, the structural governing equation for marine production string self-induced vibration is constructed. A finite element analysis model is established based on Euler-Bernoulli theory and solved by the Newmark method. Furthermore, based on reliability theory, a self-design procedure is developed to determine the operability envelope for marine production string self-induced vibration. Case studies show: the response frequency of the production strings is consistent with the excitation frequency under harmonic fluctuation and mainly determined by the first-order natural frequency under stochastic fluctuation. The operability envelope for marine production string self-induced vibration is a near symmetrical trapezium. With the increasing of natural gas output, the permissible fluctuation coefficient dramatically decreases. A reasonable centralizer spacing, increasing top tension, and controlling natural gas output are of great significance to the risk control in marine production string operation.
The inter-industrial inducement effects of the korean railway services on the output, value-added, imports of the 403 industrial sectors of the korean economy have been computed by the input-output analysis technique utilizing the 2003 Input-Output Tables, which was published most recently in April 2007 by the Bank of Korea. The korean railway service industry produced \2,766 billion worth of passenger and freight railroad services in the 2003 year, and it has induced \1,701 billion worth of output, \781 billion worth of value-added, and \580 billion worth of imports of the korean industry as a whole. The energy sector industries such as diesel fuel, thermal power generation, nuclear power generation, crude oil, liquid natural gas, bituminous coal, liquid propane gas have been most affected by the korean railway services. Other industries mainly affected by the korean railway services include railroad car manufacturing, cleaning and decontamination, medical and health service, machinery equipment and rental, construction and maintenance, transportation related services, business R&D, property insurance, and telecommunication.

The modal analysis based on deformations is the method to drived dynamic responsed from superposition of natural frequency and mode shape. In order to free vibration analysis of the structures, Aluminum-made model is used in experiment. The dynamic characteristic of the structures are determined from acceleration measurements using impulse hammer. Experimenrt input and output signal are derive from impact hammer and the one accerometer. This paper present three methods for calculating the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the structure with theory value and finite element analysis, experiment. The results were good approximated about natural frequency and mode shape.
