공원잔디공간의 녹지구조적 의의에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Significance of Lawn Areas in Urban Parks)

  • ^x In Korea, we are entering on a new phase that the use concept of urban park is extending to dynamic activities such as games and sports. This article is to investigate the significance of lawn areas, as a receptive space of such a wide range of recreation activities. As a study process, Green Styles (type of parks) such as Garden Type, Park Type and Forest Type were studied and historical review of lawn areas in park development was performed. In conclusion, the lawn areas ( greensward) are an essential part of park and open space organization. The significance as a conclusion is presented as follows : 1 ) Balance in type of parks The structures of our parks and open spaces are inclined toward the artificial Garden Type and natural Forest Type. Therefore, the intermediate Park Type and sparse wood areas should be a core part of our park and open space development. 2) Psychological effect Park Type areas, thorned by greensward(lawn area), can refresh urban dwellers with natural picturesque landscaps, and Park Type landscape is the most preferred natural landscape. It shows the essence of natural amenity as 3) Accomodation of wide range of recreation activities Lawn areas in urban park are the best place in accomodating the wide range of active and massive recreation activities. Thus, lawn areas can increase the freedom of recreation use in urban park. 4) Enlargement of physical carrying capacity. With expansion of lawn areas of euro- american concept, the structural open space can be transformed into service open space. Thus, the recreation carrying capacity of urban parks can be enlarged.

바이모달 트램 전용선로 포장 형태에 따른 온도의 영향 (Temperature Effect on Pavement Types of Bimodal Tram Dedicated Lane)

  • To analyze the effect of temperature on pavement types of dedicated lane, we have performed a temperature monitoring for pavements which were constructed in test track for Bimodal Tram. These pavements classified into four types; natural and artificial lawn, concrete and asphalt. Dedicated lane composed of natural and artificial lawn has a complex structure with concrete slab in contact surface of tires, and with 1m natural or artificial lawn in the middle part of lane. From monitoring results for pavements, dedicated lane with natural lawn shows lower temperature value compared with other dedicated lanes, and it is expected to decrease the heat island effect of conventional road if constructed.

공원잔디공간의 이용활동유형별 공간분포특성에 관한 연구 (Spatial Distribution Pattern of Users by the Types of Use Activity at Lawn Areas in Park)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of spatial distributon patterns of users by each type of recreational activities at lawn areas in the parks. Study sites were lawn areas at Kyungju World and Seorabul Plaza in Bomun Resort Complex in Kyungju, Korea. Space types by each recreation activities are Repose Type, Sports Type, Play Type and Strolling Type. Main results are as follows ; 1. Sport Type activities were mainly distributed at the central areas of each lawn areas. 2.The density of Sports Type activities were affected by the form of lawn areas. For natural control of excess dynamic activities, Complex Form has more advantage in the distribution of dynamic activities. So, as the form of lawn areas in the parks, complex form is more desirable. 3.Repose Typo activities were distributed at marginal areas of lawns and surrounding woods. These, the static activities, were affected by Edge Effect in spatial distribution of activities. 4.Play Typo activities also were distributed at marginal areas of lawns. It was also affected by Edge Effect in spatial distribution. 5.Strolling Type activities were distributed evenly over all lawn areas.

식물의 온도 완화효과에 관한 기초적 연구 (A Quantitative Study on the Effect of Temperature Control by a Shade Tree and the Lawn Area)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of temperature control by a shade tree and the lawn area. In this investigation, we find out that artificial-lawn, concerte, and exposed soil are more higher temperature than covered with plant materials. The results of the measurement may to summerized as follows; 1) Low-temperature effects of zoysia japonica is more controlled by condition of growth than leaf length of grass. Surface temperature make 0.7$^{\circ}C$ difference between long grass (15cm), and short grass (5cm), but make 5$^{\circ}C$ difference between good growth grass (230/10$\textrm{cm}^2$) and bad growth grass (80/10$\textrm{cm}^2$). 2) The surface temperature of the lawn area is 40.5$^{\circ}C$ lower on a maxinum than that of the artificial lawn (July 28, 1985). During the day of summer, shade area under the shade tree is 0.9$^{\circ}C$ lower then lawn area surface temperature, 6.9$^{\circ}C$ lower than bad growth lawn, 10.3$^{\circ}C$ lower than exposed soil, and 18$^{\circ}C$ lower than concrete surface temperature. 3) Natural irrigation effect on the surface temperature fluctuation. But this effect is changed by compositions of ground materials and time-lapse. 4) Sunny day is more effective than cloud day. 5) In summer season, surface temperature make a difference compare to temperature of 0.5-1.5m height from ground : Surface temperature is 3.4$^{\circ}C$ lower at the lawn area (11 a.m.), 4.2$^{\circ}C$ lower at the shade area the shade tree, 12.7$^{\circ}C$ higher at the concrete area (3p.m.), 38.8$^{\circ}C$ higher at the artificial lawn (2p.m.) 6) According to compositions of ground materials and season have specific vertical temperature distribution curve. 7) In summer season, temperature distribution of 0.5-1.5m hight at the shade tree is 4.8-5.7$^{\circ}C$ lower than concrete area (noon-3p.m.)

산업폐기물의 잔디용 유기질 비료화에 관한 연구 (Utilization of Industrial Waste to Organic Fertilizer for Lawn)

  • The sludge, a waste of brewery industries, was examined for potentials as a natural organic fertilizer (or soil conditioner) for lawn. Trial products were measured for changes of physical, chemical properties in laboratory and seed germination and seedling growth in green house were also tested. The results are as the following:1The sludge from distilled liquor brewery contained high quantity of organic matter which had proper physical and chemical properties for lawn fertilizer (natural organic fertilizer, soil conditioner, top-dressing mix) . It showed good characteristics in handling and capabilities to be developed as commercial products for golf courses. 2.Sludge from beer company needs proper treatment to improve physical properties for futher degradiation. It is because aggregation of the sludge particles prevented microbial activities and changing to soluble form. 3.Green carbon can be used as carbon source for organic fertilizer production using brewery sludge, but it should not contain wood extract which inhibit seed germination and seedling growth.

잔디운동장 훼손 현황과 풀을 이용한 도시 학교 운동장 주변의 녹화 가능성 (An Investigation of Natural Lawn Condition on School Grounds and the Possibility of Revegetation on It's Surroundings)

  • 대전광역시 소재 71개 초 중 고등학교를 대상으로 천연 잔디 운동장 조성 후 훼손 정도를 조사하였다. 2002년부터 2004년에 걸쳐 조성되었던 71개교의 천연 잔디 운동장은 조성 1년 후 초등학교 51%, 중학교 76%, 고등학교 42%의 훼손률을 나타내었다. 2008년 현재 천연 잔디 운동장이 비교적 양호하게 유지되고 있는 학교 수는 6개교로 줄어들었다. 천연 잔디 운동장 상태가 비교적 양호한 6개 학교는 2007년 새로 잔디 운동장을 조성한 2개 학교와 특수학교 1개교, 그리고 초등학교 1개교와 중학교에 비해서 운동장 이용률이 비교적 낮은 여자고등학교이며 그 외는 잔디 보호를 위해서 이용을 엄격히 제한하고 있는 2개 고등학교이다. 그리고 도심형 학교 2개교와 산지형 학교 3개교의 운동장 주변에 자라고있는 초본식물을 조사한 결과 조사 대상 5곳 모두에서 총 33과 101종이 자라고 있었다. 입지에 따른 조사 결과 산지형 학교는 30여종에서 45종이 자라고 있었지만 아파트가 밀집된 도심형 학교의 초종 수는 20여종에 불과 하였다. 이 중 국화과 식물이 20종으로 가장 많았고, 벼과 식물이 17종, 마디풀과와 콩과 식물이 각각 7종, 석죽과 식물이 6종, 겨자과 식물이 5종, 사초과 식물이 4종순으로 많았다. 조사 대상 5곳에서 모두 발견된 종은 쑥, 닭의 장풀, 쇠뜨기였고, 4곳에서 발견 된 종은 메꽃이 있었다. 3곳에서 발견된 것은 개망초, 망초, 고들빼기, 씀바귀, 명아주, 쇠무릎, 질경이가 있었다. 추후 출현 초종들에 대한 구체적인 활용 방안에 대한 조사가 필요하다고 판단된다.

시각적 선호에 있어서 Green Foundation의 효과에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Green Foundation on the Visual Preference)

  • 우리나라에서 Green Foundation의 취약시기인 3~4월 주요화목 진달래와 개나리를 재료로 하여 초종과 생태가 다른 8개 장소의 잔디밭에서 6가지 식재조합의 총 48매 슬라이드 평가 방법으로 선호점수를 구하고 조합비교 방법을 이용하여 슬라이드 평가 방법의 신뢰성을 검정하였다. 잔디상태가 다른 장소별로 선호되는 정도에 차이가 나타났으며 슬라이드 상에서 10개의 공간점유변수 및 색채변수를 선정하여 선호식와의 단계를 구해 본 결과 4개의 주요변수 $\ulcorner$잔디밭의 색상$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$잔디밭의 채도$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$화목의 경계선길이$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$잔디밭의 명도$\lrcorner$가 발견되었다. 잔디밭이 녹색의 색상을 띌 때, 잔디밭이 단일의 순수한 색상일 때, 화목의 경계선 길이가 길수록, 잔디 밝기는 어두운 편이며 보다 높은 선호정도를 보였고 가장 기여도가 큰 변수는 $\ulcorner$잔디밭의 색상$\lrcorner$으로서 Green Foundation은 단일색상의 녹색을 띄는 배경일 보다 효과적이며 화목의 배치나 구성 및 일조조건에 따라 그 효과가 변함을 알 수 있었다.

잔디육묘 이식재배법에 관한 연구 : Ⅴ. 월년생 잡초의 특성 (Study on Transplanting Cultural Methods of Turf Seedling : V. Growth Characteristics of Biennial Weeds in Lawn)

  • 실생묘 이앙으로 새로이 조성된 잔디밭에 발생되는 월년생 잡초의 종류 및 그 방제를 위한 특성을 조사한바 그 요지는 다음과 같다. 1. 발생잡초 종은 십자화과 및 국화과가 각각 29.4%이고, 석죽과 23.5%, 벼과 11.8%,꿀풀과 5.9%의 순위였다. 2. 발생 시기별로는 10월에 47.1%, 11월에 41.2%, 9월과 12월에 각각 5.9%를 나타내는 순위를 보인다. 3. 개화시기별로는 5월에 58.8%, 4월 23.5%, 3월 11.8%, 6월 5.9% 순위를 보였다. 4. 초장별로는 20-40 cm에 속하는 것이 47.1%, 20 cm 미만이 23.5%, 40-60 cm에 속하는 것이 17,6%, 60cm이상에 해당되는 것이 11.8%를 나타나고 있었다.

Antimicrobial Activity of Hibiscus sabdariffa L. (Roselle) Powder against Food-Borne Pathogens Present in Dairy Products: Preliminary Study

  • The antimicrobial activity of the ethanol extract of Hibiscus sabdariffa L. (Roselle) powder against various food-borne pathogens was tested using the lawn diffusion assay. The results showed that the ethanol extract exhibited antimicrobial activities against Staphylococcus aureus (total inhibition), Salmonella enteritidis (partial inhibition), Listeria monocytogenes (partial inhibition), Escherichia coli (partial inhibition), Cronobacter sakazakii (partial inhibition), and Bacillus cereus (partial inhibition). Therefore, it is strongly recommended that Hibiscus sabdariffa L. (Roselle) should be considered for use as a natural food-grade additive for the inhibition of various food-borne pathogens, including both gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens, and the improvement of the overall quality of various dairy products, including milk.

함양 상림 복원을 위한 식생 및 입지특성 분석 II (Analysis on the Plant and Site Characteristics for the Restoration of Sangrim Woodlands in Hamyang-Gun, Korea II)

  • This study was conducted to establish a management plan for the Sangrim Woodlands restoration by analyzing the vegetation survey and the site characteristics of the Sangrim Woodlands Natural Monument (Natural Monument 154) in Hamyang-Gun, Gyoungsangnam-Do, Korea. According to the vegetation analysis, the species diversity by the location of Sangrim was higher near forest (1.000) than near urban (0.358) areas. Although forest occupied 53% of the Sangrim woodlands area, it is still insufficient, requiring to transform arable land, lawn, or house areas to the forest within the woodlands. Soil bulk density was increased in access areas frequently used by public, while it was decreased in closed areas. Soil hardness at 0-10 cm soil depth was generally improved in the closed areas, while became worse in the public access areas compared with the soil hardness in 2004.
