  • The organization of modern society is suddenly changing from the modern society to the ultra modern informationalized society. Various social members must satisfy cultural and artistic desires to serve museum concept and function to move the informationalized society. A lot of natural history museum in the world build cyber space exhibition lines. Audiences do not directly visit but they view but they view the exhibit, get an education, participate in the cultrue programs and earn the museum's informations. Especially, in the case of national and public museums in Korea, they do not concerned the museum architecture before processing the character and collections of the museum. Cyber museums determine museum character, policy, information, collections converge of opinion voluntary collection and grasp of location, because cyber museum can be finished be4fore the work of the future museum.

  • Colonial ascidians, Clavelina elegans (Oka, 1927) and Clavelina miniata Watanabe & Tokioka, 1973 are reported for the first time in Korean waters. As a result of this study, three species of the genus Clavelina are now recorded in Korean fauna. Clavelina elegans and C. miniata have been reported only from Japan. We expanded the distribution range of these species to Korea. The specimens of C. elegans and C. miniata were collected from the subtidal zone of Beomseom and Chagwido in Jeju-do by SCUBA diving. Detailed descriptions, illustrations and photographs of these species are provided in this paper.

  • These days' mobile phones and their improved multimedia limits making it powerful enough to handle complicated tasks. Image processing related support for mobile devices is extremely comprehensive in mobile cyber museum. A key technical challenge is how to achieve the best-perceived image quality and transmitting data between client and server with given the limited screen size and display bit-depth of the mobile devices. This paper targets image processing features such as capturing rendering zooming, panning and image rotation for 360o view and customized algorithm related image processing with variety of search method i.e. alphabetical, visual search.

The Value of Traditional Medicine in East Asia which is based on the Instinct and Nature - Focused on the Value of Nature Medicine and Modern Disease - (본능(本能)과 본성(本性)에 기초(基礎)한 동아시아 전통의학의 의의(意義)에 대한 소고(小考) - 자연의학으로서의 가치와 현대병을 중심으로 -)

  • Natural Medicine is a medical system that tries to find the cause and cure of the disease in the nature emphasizing on natural healing power of human body. The most important value of traditional medicine in east Asia lies on the fact that this medicine is a medical culture and natural medicine that was selected by instinct and human nature reflecting the best possible remedy by the wisdom of evolution, and views the living phenomenon based on relation and circulation. This medicine is a natural medicine that tries to recover and promote the natural healing power by vitality and is a system that cumulates various empirical information about unique and complicated life phenomenon as a legacy of evolution in the body and the disease. The understanding of variation and adaptation of human species should be based on thorough knowledge of origin, instinct and nature of human as well as knowledge of survival and adaptation of human and environment based on evolution. And through this insight, the prevention and treatment of modern diseases should be developed. In this regards, traditional medicine in east Asia should be highlighted again as a study on adaptation and harmony of penetrating the cultural history of mind which has led the history of biological body and change of society and culture, and the repository of practical wisdom and knowledge.

  • Though the concept of unique factorization was formulated in tile 19th century, Euclid already had considered the prime factorization of natural numbers, so called tile fundamental theorem of arithmetic. The unique factorization of algebraic integers was a crucial problem in solving elliptic equations and the Fermat Last Problem in tile 19th century On the other hand the unique factorization of the formal power series ring were a critical problem in the past century. Unique factorization is one of the idealistic condition in computation and prime elements and prime ideals are vital ingredients in thinking and solving problems.

  • We have known that ethno-mathematics is a field of a study that emphasizes the socio-cultural environment in which a person "does" mathematics as stated by D'Ambrosio(Ethno mathematics and its Place in the History and Pedagogy of Mathematics, 1985). Measurement is an important mathematical topic, which leads students to relate math to the eal-world applications, particularly with socio-cultural aspects. The purpose of this article is to review the history of the measurement system in Korea briefly and to adapt the measurement system into real-world problems so that children acquire measurement knowledge in the most natural way.

  • Lee, Sang-Hyuk(1810-\ulcorner) said that Cha-Geun-Bang means algebra come from the West. In the chapter 'Che-Lyu' of the second volume of his book Cha-Geun-Bang-Mong-Gu, he gave the list of questions which could be expressed by the equation of one variable and explained the solution for them. All questions were formulated by equations of degree 2, 3, 4 which have terms on both sides of equal sign and they mostly have natural number solutions. The explanation of each question describes the procedure to make the equation in detail, but only presents the solution with few step to solve.

  • The concepts of zero, minus, infinite, ideal point, etc. are not real existence, but are pure mathematical objects. These entities become mathematical objects through the process of a philosophical filtering. In this paper, the writer explores the relation between natural conditions of different cultures and philosophies, with its reference to fundamental philosophies and traditional mathematical patterns in major cultural zones. The main items treated in this paper are as follows: 1. Greek ontology and Euclidean geometry. 2. Chinese agnosticism and the concept of minus in the equations. 3. Transcendence in Hebrews and the concept of infinite in modern analysis. 4. The empty and zero in India.
