  • This paper analyzes the reality of Myanmar workers' consciousness and reports the results of exploratory empirical studies that examined the influence of workers' consciousness on organizational commitment. To accomplish the purpose of the study, we performed conceptual and empirical research and mainly focused on empirical research through questionnaires on 262 workers in the manufacturing industry in Myanmar. Results of this empirical study are summarized as follow. First, the consciousness of the labor union of Myanmar labors such as 'Necessity of Union', 'Necessity of Strong Union', 'Militant Ideology' and 'Democracy' was high. The wage fair consciousness, which is a core consciousness related to the working conditions, is high, and class consciousness and collectivism, which are corporate and social consciousness, are also high but the 'growth ideology' and 'competitiveness ideology' are low. Second, the younger generation, less than high school graduates, and Yangon's workers have highly consciousness increasing the instability of industrial relations. Third, consciousness factors which have significant influence on organizational commitment were labor-management cooperation consciousness (+), democracy (-), competitiveness ideology (+), class consciousness (-) and authoritarianism (+). Lastly, implications and limitations of this empirical study, and suggestions for future research are suggested.

  • Consciousness is really regarded as too ambiguous a concept to be understood and accepted as a mental construct without the inclusion of memory and attention in any conceptualization. However we need one criterion to count satisfactorily as an explanation of consciousness in information processing. An operational working definition of consciousness could be made in comparison of memory and attention: Consciousness would be a subjective awareness of momentary experience and also have the characteristics of an operating system performing control and consolidation information processing. This could be called a cognitive consciousness. It is possible that some distinctions between consciousness, memory and attention can be made conceptually and functionally from the perspectives of information processing.

  • Purpose: This study aims to explore the effect of physical, emotional and environmental status on safety consciousness of the elderly who live alone. Methods: A total of 228 participants were the elderly living alone aged 65 years and older. Three questionnaires were developed to measure safety consciousness, physical status, and environmental status by researchers. Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) was used to evaluate emotional status of the elderly. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Average scores of participants were $3.71{\pm}1.49$ (range 0~6) for physical status, $8.28{\pm}3.38$ (range 0~15) for environmental status, $7.21{\pm}3.40$ (range 0~15) for GDS and $17.00{\pm}6.54$ (range 0~37) for safety consciousness. Safety consciousness was significantly associated with education, marital status, drinking, and depression as emotional status. These variables explained 13.6% of the variance in safety consciousness. Conclusion: The levels of safety consciousness among the elderly living alone were low. Education, marital status, drinking, and depression were the factors affecting safety consciousness. Risk assessment and management of these factors are needed to increase safety consciousness of the elderly.

  • The purpose of this study was to ensure that materialism is an important explanation variable not only for consumption behavior of clothing but also for recycling attitude and behavior of clothing. Therefore, we investigated the influence of materialism and environment consciousness on recycling attitude and behavior of clothing. A total of 210 survey questionnaires were collected. The results revealed that materialism didn't directly affect recycling attitude, but that the happiness dimension of materialism negatively affected environment consciousness and that materialism indirectly affected recycling attitude and behavior via environment consciousness. Environment consciousness dimensions partially affected recycling attitude and behavior of clothing. Recycling altitude positively affected recycling behavior.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the levels of self-monitoring, self-consciousness and cosmetic attitude of female university students and to analyze the relationship between the levels of self-monitoring, self-consciousness and cosmetic attitude in an effort to strengthen external human beauty. The respondents were 264 university women attending a university Chung-Cheong Province in Korea. In this study, a questionnaire method was used. The questionnaire consisted of SMS(self-monitoring scale), the(self-consciousness scale), and a measurement of the cosmetic attitude. Earlier studies were used to create the measuring instruments with some adjustments for the purpose of this research. Factorial analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis were carried out with SPSS 18.0. The cosmetic attitude consisted of four factors, and those factors were related to self-monitoring and self-consciousness. The Four factors were happiness with change, manners to others, the instrument of change, and conformity. It was found that the cosmetic attitude reflected the personal internal mental states; hence, the cosmetic attitude was used as method to express the internal mind. Determining the correlations between self-monitoring, self-consciousness and the cosmetic attitude was useful in understanding the personal peculiarity of the cosmetic attitude. Moreover, in the cosmetic industry, it is likely meaningful to investigate the capability whether the variables of self-monitoring and self-consciousness can be applied in an effort to understand consumers' internal character.

  • This paper approaches the subject of consciousness and unconsciousness from a mathematical point of view. It sets up a hypothesis that when unconscious state becomes conscious state, high density energy is released. We argue that the process of transformation of unconsciousness into consciousness can be expressed using the infinite recursive Heaviside step function. We claim that differentiation of the potential of unconsciousness with respect to time is the process of being conscious in a world where only time exists, since the thinking process never have any concrete space. We try to attribute our unconsciousness to a special solution of the multi-dimensional advection partial differential equation which can be represented by the finite recursive Heaviside step function. Mathematical language explains how the infinitive neural process is perceived and understood by consciousness in a definitive time.
