  • Estimated channel information, especially multipath length and multipath channel of the desired user, is necessary for most previously reported linear blind multiuser detectors in code division multiple access (CDMA) systems. This paper presents a new blind intersymbol decorrelating detector in asynchronous CDMA systems, which uses the cross correlation matrix of the consecutive symbols. The proposed detector is attractive for its simplicity because no channel estimation is required except the synchronization of the desired user. Compared with other reported multiuser detectors, simulation results show that the proposed detector provides a good performance when the active users have significant intersymbol interference and the multipath length is short.

  • In this paper, we proposed and analyzed the performance of the partial SSPIC (Successive Serial Parallel Interference Cancellation ) scheme adopting modified successive serial interference cancellation (SIC) scheme. Modified partial successive serial cancellation (SIC) stage is used to effectively shorten interference cancellation delay. Performance is analyzed in Rayleigh fading channel with both perfect and imperfect channel estimation. From the results, proposed partial SSPIC I and II multiuser detectors can shorten effectively a detection delay at first SIC stage. The partial SSPIC type l detector outperformed the conventional concatenated SICPIC detector in both performance and capacity and type ll detector maintains similar performance. Proposed partial SSPIC multiuser detector can effectively improve the system performance without excessive detection delay.

  • In this paper, a new multiuser detector combining multicarrier and decorrelating detection schemes is proposed and analyzed in a frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel. The bit error probability is derived and compared with that of the conventional decorrelating detector. From the numerical results, it is shown that the proposed detector achieves better BER performance and lower computational complexity than those of the conventional decorrelating detector.

  • In this paper, we present a novel blind adaptive multiuser detector structure and three robust recursive filters to improve the performance in CDMA environments: Sigma point kalman filter (SPKF), particle filter (PF), and Gaussian mixture sigma point particle filter (GMSPPF). Our proposed robust recursive filters have superior performance over a conventional extended Kalman filter (EKF). The proposed multiuser detector algorithms initially use Kalman prediction form to estimated channel parameters, and unknown data symbol be predicted. Second, based on this predicted data symbol, the robust recursive filters (e.g., GMSPPF) is a refined estimation of joint multipaths and time delays. With these estimated multipaths and time delays, data symbol detection is carried out (Kalman correction form). Computer simulations show that the proposed algorithms outperform the conventional blind multiuser detector with the EKF. Also we can see it provides a more viable means for tracking time-varying amplitudes and time delays in CDMA communication systems, compared to that of the EKF for near-far ratio of 20 dB. For this reason, it is believed that the proposed channel estimators can replace well-known filter such as the EKF.

  • In this paper, multiuser detector (MUD) based on radial basis function (RBF) is proposed and simulated for a multicode direct sequence/code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) system in a multipath fading channel. The performance of RBF-based MUD is compared with that of many suboptimal multiuser detectors in terms of bit error probability. From the simulation results, it is confirmed that the RBF-based MUD outperforms decorrelating detector, and achieves near-optimum performance under various environments. The results in this paper can be applied to design of MUD for a multicode DS/CDMA system.

  • Frequency selective fading occurs due to the Doppler Effect in mobile communication systems. The performances of the systems are rapidly reduced due to effect of multiuser interference under frequency selective channels at DS-CDMA systems. To overcome these problems, we adopted the multi-carrier modulation techniques, and it is able to solve the frequency selective channel effects by means of these modulation techniques, and interference problems due to multiuser access are solved by means of multiuser detection techniques. In this paper, we proposed the blind MOE/PIC multiuser detection method which is composed of both the blind multiuser detection technique and parallel interference canceller. Thus, simulation results show that the proposed method performs better than conventional methods.

  • In this paper, a novel noncoherent multiuser detector with diversity reception for a differentially encoded DS/CDMA signal in a frequency-selective Rayleigh fading channel is proposed. The proposed receiver employs multipath decorrelator and decision feedback differential detector (DFDD) with diversity reception. DFDD performs differential encoding and diversity combining. The performance is obtained by analysis and simulation and it is sown that the proposed receiver outperforms conventional differential receiver with slight increase of complexity.

  • In this paper, adaptive minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) multiuser detector combined with decision-feedback detector (DFD) is considered fur near-far resistant DS-CDMA system. To provide a reliable input to the adaptive MMSE detector, multiple-access interference (MAI) is regenerated using bit estimates from DFD and subtracted from the received signal. In the adaptive MMSE detector, the effect of the imperfect cancellation is compensated by a least mean square (LMS) algorithm. Through the numerical results, it is shown that, in a near-far situation, the proposed scheme provides superior performance to the matched filter (MF) receiver, adaptive MMSE detector, and DFD in terms of the bit error rate (BER).

  • The performance of iterative multiuser detector and turbo decoder is presented to provide high quality multimedia services in WCDMA (wideband code division multiple access) system in this paper. Especially the relationship between the local iteration of turbo decoder and the global iteration of multiuser detector including the turbo decoder is analyzed. As a result, three local iterations and three global iterations are considered to be sufficient to provide satisfactory error performance with resonable complexity. The interference cancellation capability of global iteration is improved when the number of users is increased.

  • In this paper, the performance of the MMSE multiauser deteclor was analyzed with the SNR from the standpoint of the exproient, according to the multiuser, In was analyzed not only at the AWGN channel, but at the fading channel also. With the result of this test, the MMSE multiuser detector showed better performance of multi-connection interference in comparison with comon deterctors. However, its disadvantageis that the hardware turns out to be too complicated and that it requires too many calculations. Because of multi-connectioninterference that happens as a result of spreading code horizontally, the DS/CDMA system, which contatins the same frequency and time, turns out to thve interference according to the quality of the call and the number of users. In order to solve these problems, an adaptive MMSE multiuser detector is suggested. To increase the system's processing gain, the hardware's complexity can be reduced by establishing the number of taps wirhin the detector.
