In this paper, we propose a stereo-video transmission method for reduction of delay and maximization of 3D effect. Conventional multimedia synchronization algorithms were designed to achieve minimum delay and synchronize multiple video and audio streams, however, they could not be effective for 3D video transmission. In this paper, we proposed a synchronization algorithm by considering the minimum error of time difference between streams for 3D effect. The minimum error of time difference for 3D effect was derived based on a 3D subjective quality test. We compute display time of the delivered videos within the allowed time-difference and the video are displayed according to the display time. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we implemented a real-time video communication system and subjective quality test has been conducted with the proposed system. We found that video quality displayed by the proposed system. We found that video quality displayed by the proposed algorithm ranks 'good' and 'excellent' in the DMOS (Differential Mean Opinion Score) scale, based on the MOS (Mean Opinion Score) test.
The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for the leisure space planning desirable for adolescents through survey on their using leisure space. Four hundred sixty-six middle and high school students living in Chongju city, Gwesan-gun and Eumsung-gun responded the first basic questionnaire and 160 students among them answered again the second questionnaire for more information on the site of leisure space they want. Frequency, percentage, $x^2-test$ and Multi-Dimensional Scale were methods of analysis. The results are as follows. Adolescents are wasting their leisure time because of insufficient facilities for productive activities. They use the time, when observed in one week, roaming around downtown, studying in off-school academies, visiting shops and playing in the game rooms. And when observed in a month, they use time meeting friends in coffee shops, visiting restaurants, studying in the libraries, playing in the ground and visiting sports facilities. Adolescents' leisure time were different according to sex, age, father's educational level, mother's occupation, household income, and living area. Students hoped the leisure spares to be located in the neighborhood where they can access easily, and facilities they wanted were small shop-buildings, game rooms, off-school academies, schools, sports facilities, studying moms and libraries. It is necessary that adolescents have opportunities to learn how to use their leisure time healthy in the leisure space. And consideration on adolescents living in the remote rural area have to be dealt importantly in the beginning of various planning.

In the mixed-use development program, several conflicts occur due to the characteristics of construction program, such as large-scale, variety of stakeholders, long periods of time, etc. In particular, since the characteristics of the construction program having various complex projects lead to different requirements depending on stakeholders, it is crucial to plan the appropriate type and size of facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to derive solutions suitable for the needs of owner by conducting VE in the planning phase. In this study, a multi-dimensional quality model is developed to present proper facilities necessary for the construction program by clearly identifying the owner's requirements in performing VE in the planning phase. Through the development of the multi-dimensional quality model, the characteristics distribution of 15 major facilities by 12 performance indicators for mixed-use development programs is presented. The deduction method of appropriate facilities based on the requirements of owner and the multi-dimensional synthesis method among the performance indicators are also suggested. This study is significant as a basic research for the application of VE in the planning phase of construction program. It is expected that the multi-dimensional quality model proposed in this study could facilitate presentation and review of appropriate facilities based on the analysis of requirements of various stakeholders in the early stage of the construction program.

This research collected some multi-image information of Nakdong River Estuary Eulsukdo area in last 30 years, which are used as the basis information in running the qualitative analysis of the topography relief's deformation. First, to obtain the data, this research carried out a field survey and GCP measurement, then classified and collected the image information by analog and digital image. The acquired images which have passed a high-precise scan process and geometric correction is manufactured by Ortho Mosaic image, then divided them into 9 sections time period classification before we run a qualitative analysis. In late of 1980's there are many changes of environmental topography deformation of the Eulsukdo area which caused by large scale building constructions, appeared to be known through this research. And then in late of 1990's, we organized the wild cultivated lands, started the wetland restoration of the artificial ecology, in 2000's we are able to know the existence of topograph relief change which caused by big scale of bridge construction. Hereafter, in this quick process of the environmental and topographical change of this area caused by the 4 major rivers restoration project, the analysis results of this experiment are expected to be something applicable as important basic data.

The importance of fusion and association using established spatial information has increased gradually with the production and supply of various spatial data by public institutions. The generation of necessary spatial information without field investigation and additional surveying can reduce time, labor, and financial costs. However, the study of the integration of the newly introduced road name address map with the digital map is very insufficient. Even though the use of the road name address map is encouraged for public works related to spatial information, the digital map is still widely used because it is the national basic map. Therefore, in this study, building matching and update were performed to associate the digital map with the road name address map. After geometric calibration using the block-based ICP (Iterative Closest Point) method, multi-scale corresponding pair searching with hierarchical clustering was applied to detect the multi-type match. The accuracy assessment showed that the proposed method is more than 95% accurate and the matched building layer of the two maps is useful for the integrated application and fusion. In addition, the use of the road name address map, which carries the latest and most frequently renewed data, enables cost-effective updating of new buildings.

Ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia is one of the most common techniques used in peripheral nerve blockade by enhancing pain control and recovery time. However, accurate Brachial Plexus (BP) nerve detection and identification remains a challenging task due to the difficulty in data acquisition such as speckle and Doppler artifacts even for experienced anesthesiologists. To mitigate the issue, we introduce a BP nerve small target segmentation network by incorporating BP object detection and U-Net based semantic segmentation into a single deep learning framework based on the multi-scale approach. To this end, the current BP detection and identification was estimated: 1) A RetinaNet model was used to roughly locate the BP nerve region using multi-scale based feature representations, and 2) U-Net was then used by feeding plural BP nerve features for each scale. The experimental results demonstrate that our proposed model produces high quality BP segmentation by increasing the accuracies of the BP nerve identification with the assistance of roughly locating the BP nerve area compared to competing methods such as segmentation-only models.

Objective: To evaluate whether artificial intelligence (AI) for detecting breast cancer on mammography can improve the performance and time efficiency of radiologists reading mammograms. Materials and Methods: A commercial deep learning-based software for mammography was validated using external data collected from 200 patients, 100 each with and without breast cancer (40 with benign lesions and 60 without lesions) from one hospital. Ten readers, including five breast specialist radiologists (BSRs) and five general radiologists (GRs), assessed all mammography images using a seven-point scale to rate the likelihood of malignancy in two sessions, with and without the aid of the AI-based software, and the reading time was automatically recorded using a web-based reporting system. Two reading sessions were conducted with a two-month washout period in between. Differences in the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC), sensitivity, specificity, and reading time between reading with and without AI were analyzed, accounting for data clustering by readers when indicated. Results: The AUROC of the AI alone, BSR (average across five readers), and GR (average across five readers) groups was 0.915 (95% confidence interval, 0.876-0.954), 0.813 (0.756-0.870), and 0.684 (0.616-0.752), respectively. With AI assistance, the AUROC significantly increased to 0.884 (0.840-0.928) and 0.833 (0.779-0.887) in the BSR and GR groups, respectively (p = 0.007 and p < 0.001, respectively). Sensitivity was improved by AI assistance in both groups (74.6% vs. 88.6% in BSR, p < 0.001; 52.1% vs. 79.4% in GR, p < 0.001), but the specificity did not differ significantly (66.6% vs. 66.4% in BSR, p = 0.238; 70.8% vs. 70.0% in GR, p = 0.689). The average reading time pooled across readers was significantly decreased by AI assistance for BSRs (82.73 vs. 73.04 seconds, p < 0.001) but increased in GRs (35.44 vs. 42.52 seconds, p < 0.001). Conclusion: AI-based software improved the performance of radiologists regardless of their experience and affected the reading time.

This study was carried out to develop the efficient freeze concentration process of milk through controlling the recrystallisation phenomena of ice. Freeze-concentration was progressed with multi-stage freeze concentrator and there was artificial temperature control to induce recrystallisation phenomena. In each stage of freeze concentration process, the regular recrystallisation time was fixed as 1, 2, 4 and 8 hr to compare the solute increment, yield, brix and ice-crystal size among experimental conditions. Higher concentration as total solids was observed due to the elapse of recrystallisation time, and the maximum total solids in final products: 32.67% was obtained at the ripening time of 8 hr in two-stage process. This result was excessively high concentration comparing to the existing researches and presented the possibilities of milk freeze concentration in the dairy industry, The results of brix and ice-crystal size showed the direct correlation with the recrystallisation time that meant the increased processing time showed the increment of brix and ice-crystal size. Obtained results were numerically modelled to predict the progress of concentration in the industrial process and all of them had fairly high R2 of determination. Therefore, we regarded that these numerical models could be utilized for the development of efficient technology in industrial freeze concentration process.
Using a continuous injection tracer test at a multi-soil layer deposit, the difference of hydrodynamic dispersions in unsaturated and saturated zones were analyzed through breakthrough curves of Rhodamine WT, linear regression of concentration versus time, concentration variation rates versus time, and concentration ratio according to the distance from injection well. As a result of continuous injection tracer test, the difference of the maximum concentrations of Rhodamine WT in unsaturated and saturated zones were 13-15 times after 160 hours, and the increased rate of concentration versus time in unsaturated zone was about 10 times higher than in saturated zone. The fluctuation of Rhodamine WT breakthrough curve and concentration variation rate with time in saturated zone were larger than in unsaturated zone. Rhodamine WT concentration ratio with the distance from the injection well in saturation zone was linearly decreased faster than in unsaturated zone, and the elapsed time necessary for the concentration ratio less than 2 was longer in saturation zone. The differences resulted from the lower concentration and slower hydrodynamic dispersion of Rhodamine WT at the saturation zone of the multi-soil layer deposit, in which groundwater flow significantly flow and aquifer materials have high hydraulic heterogeneity. Effective porosity, longitudinal and transverse dispersivities were estimated $10.19{\sim}10.50%,\;0.80{\sim}1.98m$ and $0.02{\sim}0.04m$, respectively. The field longitudinal dispersivity is over 12 times larger than the laboratory longitudinal dispersivity by the scale-dependent effect.
Migration velocity analysis (MVA) for creating optimum depth-domain velocities in seismic imaging was applied to marine long-offset multi-channel data, and the effectiveness of the MVA approach was demonstrated by the combinations of conventional data processing procedures. The time-domain images generated by conventional time-processing scheme has been considered to be sufficient so far for the seismic stratigraphic interpretation. However, when the purpose of the seismic imaging moves to the hydrocarbon exploration, especially in the geologic modeling of the oil and gas play or lead area, drilling prognosis, in-place hydrocarbon volume estimation, the seismic images should be converted into depth domain or depth processing should be applied in the processing phase. CMP-based velocity analysis, which is mainly based on several approximations in the data domain, inherently contains errors and thus has high uncertainties. On the other hand, the MVA provides efficient and somewhat real-scale (in depth) images even if there are no logging data available. In this study, marine long-offset multi-channel seismic data were optimally processed in time domain to establish the most qualified dataset for the usage of the iterative MVA. Then, the depth-domain velocity profile was updated several times and the final velocity-in-depth was used for generating depth images (CRP gather and stack) and compared with the images obtained from the velocity-in-time. From the results, we were able to confirm the depth-domain results are more reasonable than the time-domain results. The spurious local minima, which can be occurred during the implementation of full waveform inversion, can be reduced when the result of MVA is used as an initial velocity model.
