In this study, the housing-related characteristics of the youth are reviewed using data from the 4th - 14th Youth Panel Survey(YP2007) of the Korea Employment Information Service in the period 2010 - 2020. The factors that affect the characteristics of their dwelling are analysed. As a result, males, highly educated, and employed people are more likely to live in their own homes and apartments, but many of them seem to be living with their parents. On the contrary, economically independent young people tend to occupy their dwellings in the form of jeonsei/monthly rent and live in multi-family units, villas, and officetel. To support the youth in overcoming their key issues such as housing affordability, jobs, and marriage, so that they can play their roles, the cost of homeownership and rent should be tailored to their economic situations.

With the development of the NB-IoT (Narrow band Internet of Things) and smart cities, coupled with the emergence of smart smoke sensors, new requirements and issues have been introduced to study on the deployment of sensors in large spaces. Previous research mainly focuses on the optimization of wireless sensors in some monitoring environments, including three-dimensional terrain or underwater space. There are relatively few studies on the optimization deployment problem of smart smoke sensors, and leaving large spaces with obstacles such as libraries out of consideration. This paper mainly studies the deployment issue of smart smoke sensors in large spaces by considering the fire probability of fire areas and the obstacles in a monitoring area. To cope with the problems of coverage blind areas and coverage redundancy when sensors are deployed randomly in large spaces, we proposed an optimized deployment strategy of smart smoke sensors based on the PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) algorithm. The deployment problem is transformed into a multi-objective optimization problem with many constraints of fire probability and barriers, while minimizing the deployment cost and maximizing the coverage accuracy. In this regard, we describe the structure model in large space and a coverage model firstly, then a mathematical model containing two objective functions is established. Finally, a deployment strategy based on PSO algorithm is designed, and the performance of the deployment strategy is verified by a number of simulation experiments. The obtained experimental and numerical results demonstrates that our proposed strategy can obtain better performance than uniform deployment strategies in terms of all the objectives concerned, further demonstrates the effectiveness of our strategy. Additionally, the strategy we proposed also provides theoretical guidance and a practical basis for fire emergency management and other departments to better deploy smart smoke sensors in a large space.

Accurate analysis of the causes of metro rail traffic congestion provides a means of addressing issues arising from metro rail traffic congestion in metropolitan areas. Currently, congestion analysis based on counting, weight detection, CCTVs, and mobile Wi-Fi is limited by poor accuracies or because studies have been restricted to single routes and trains. In this study, a train congestion analysis model was used that includes the transfer and multi-path behavior of metro passengers and train operation plans for metropolitan urban railroads. Analysis accuracy was improved by considering traffic patterns in which passengers must wait for next trains due to overcrowding. The model updates train crowding levels every 10 minutes, provides information to potential passengers, and thus, is expected to increase the social benefits provided by the Seoul metropolitan subway

Since China adopted Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in the 1980s, China has relied on water PPPs to expand appropriate water facilities.. According to the World Bank data from 1994 to 2020, the top five provinces hosted over 40 percent of total PPPs, with four of them located in the Huadong area and one in the Henan area. A vast gap exists between the group attracting the most PPPs and the group hosting the least. This study explores Guangdong and Shandong provinces, which have led most PPPs in China. Coincidently, these areas are also famous for the typical areas to show the Chinese economic policy after the open-door policy. They have achieved economic development and rapid urbanization rates based on the large scale of Foreign Direct Investment inflow and export-oriented manufacturing industry, as well as their active participation in PPPs over the last thirty years. An economic approach can provide valuable insights into the development of water infrastructure. Adequate urban infrastructure has been shown to impact local economic development positively. Water infrastructure also provides a basic and sustainable environment for economic activities by satisfying more water usage, improving the efficiency of the water supply, and reducing water pollution caused by industrial activities. However, it remains only partially understood without inclusive research on the issues related to water resources in each province. For instance, existing studies have been limited to explaining slightly different patterns of water PPPs between Guangdong and Shandong at the beginning of the PPP era. This study aims to elucidate the development pattern of water PPPs in each province from multi-dimensional aspects. Therefore, the study will help understand why China boosted the development of the private water market.
Purpose - Using the Model of Goal-Directed Behavior (MGB), this study identifies the critical factors that influence consumer intention to purchase an electric vehicle (EV). This study also provides differentiated policy implications to the Korean and Chinese governments and EV-related companies for the expansion of the EV market in both countries by comparing consumers' perceptions of EV purchase intentions. Design/methodology - Our extended MGB model adds to the standard model consideration of financial incentives, perceived risks, and environmental concerns. An online survey was conducted of Korean and Chinese consumers. Based on the collected responses, all tested hypotheses were verified using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling). Differences in the path analysis results between Korea and China were compared and verified using Henseler's MGA (multi-group analysis), the parametric test, and the Welch-Satterthwaite test. Findings - The most critical factor that influences the intent to purchase an EV in consumers from both countries is personal desire. PBC and SN were identified as the critical factors that respectively increase personal desire in Korea and China. In addition, in Korea, among the three factors EC, FIP, and PR, environmental concerns were found to have the most significant impact on attitudes and purchase intention. In contrast, in China, economic factors (specifically financial incentives) had greater importance than environmental issues. Originality/value - This study has academic contributions in that it presents a new research model that includes financial incentive policies, environmental concerns, and perceived risk variables based on the MGB to explore consumers' purchase intentions. This study can also make a practical contribution in that it provides some meaningful implications to the governments and EV-related companies of both countries based on the differences in the analysis results of the Korean and Chinese markets.

With the advance of robot capabilities and functionalities, construction robots assisting construction workers have been increasingly deployed on construction sites to improve safety, efficiency and productivity. For close-proximity human-robot collaboration in construction sites, robots need to be aware of the context, especially construction worker's behavior, in real-time to avoid collision with workers. To recognize human behavior, most previous studies obtained 3D human poses using a single camera or an RGB-depth (RGB-D) camera. However, single-camera detection has limitations such as occlusions, detection failure, and sensor malfunction, and an RGB-D camera may suffer from interference from lighting conditions and surface material. To address these issues, this study proposes a novel method of 3D human pose estimation by extracting 2D location of each joint from multiple images captured at the same time from different viewpoints, fusing each joint's 2D locations, and estimating the 3D joint location. For higher accuracy, the probabilistic representation is used to extract the 2D location of the joints, considering each joint location extracted from images as a noisy partial observation. Then, this study estimates the 3D human pose by fusing the probabilistic 2D joint locations to maximize the likelihood. The proposed method was evaluated in both simulation and laboratory settings, and the results demonstrated the accuracy of estimation and the feasibility in practice. This study contributes to ensuring human safety in close-proximity human-robot collaboration by providing a novel method of 3D human pose estimation.

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to explore the factors which influence the night-time economic development in Hanoi, Vietnam. The results can help policymakers achieve a scientific basis to plan the development of night-time economy in Hanoi. Research design, data and methodology: The research model is developed from literature review with 7 independent variables, including natural conditions and resources, infrastructure, safety, environmental issues, promotion and international integration, development of sharing economy, and institution and policy. This model is then adjusted by exploratory factors analysis to have 4 new variables: Institution and environment, Infrastructure and safety, Promotion and sharing, and Nature and resources. The model is regressed based on the data of 463 observations of night-time economy in Hanoi, Vietnam. Results: Consistent with the current literature addressing night-time economy, the results show positive impacts of all of the independent variables studied. Conclusions: It is recommended for the local authorities to strengthen advertising and promoting investment for NTE development in Hanoi city and also enhance the role of state management in NTE activities by raising awareness of the state management apparatus towards a more open-minded multi-dimensional view of the NTE, developing the NTE to overcome the barrier of thinking "if it cannot be managed, it is forbidden" in state management agencies, and defining responsibilities and authority among state management agencies in the management of NTE activities and strengthening decentralization and decentralization of powers for localities in the management and development of NTE.

The fast emerging of network technology and the high demand of computing resources have prompted many organizations to outsource their storage and computing needs. Cloud based storage services such as Microsoft's Azure and Amazon's S3 allow customers to store and retrieve any amount of data, at anytime from anywhere via internet. The scalable and dynamic of the cloud storage services help their customer to reduce IT administration and maintenance costs. No doubt, cloud based storage services brought a lot of benefits to its customer by significantly reducing cost through optimization increased operating and economic efficiencies. However without appropriate security and privacy solution in place, it could become major issues to the organization. As data get produced, transferred and stored at off premise and multi tenant cloud based storage, it becomes vulnerable to unauthorized disclosure and unauthorized modification. An attacker able to change or modify data while data inflight or when data is stored on disk, so it is very important to secure data during its entire life-cycle. The traditional cryptography primitives for the purpose of data security protection cannot be directly adopted due to user's lose control of data under off premises cloud server. Secondly cloud based storage is not just a third party data warehouse, the data stored in cloud are frequently update by the users and lastly cloud computing is running in a simultaneous, cooperated and distributed manner. In our proposed mechanism we protect the integrity, authentication and confidentiality of cloud based data with the encrypt- then-upload concept. We modified and applied proxy re-encryption protocol in our proposed scheme. The whole process does not reveal the clear data to any third party including the cloud provider at any stage, this helps to make sure only the authorized user who own corresponding token able to access the data as well as preventing data from being shared without any permission from data owner. Besides, preventing the cloud storage providers from unauthorized access and making illegal authorization to access the data, our scheme also protect the data integrity by using hash function.
It is undeniable that urban greenspace is the soul of a city. Conventional urban greenspace such as parks, community gardens, playgrounds etc. located within a city reduce the negative effects of pollution, play a major role in the survival of the urban ecosystem, and promote healthy lifestyles. Today, 55% of the world's population lives in urban areas, which is expected to increase to 68% by 2050. Projections show that urbanization and the gradual migration to urban areas combined with the fast growth of the world's population, could add another 2.5 billion people to urban areas by 2050 and almost 90% of this increase will take place in Asia(UN, 2018). As a result, many plots in the cities are and will continue to be occupied with buildings to provide residential support to the increased population. This will dangerously decrease urban greenspaces. Moreover, worldwide, food crisis, energy crisis, and social crisis is posing a great threat to the existence of mankind. Additionally, the COVID - 19 has introduced a new lifestyle where from work culture to community configuration has drastically transformed. In this scenario, residential buildings will have to serve more than just providing privacy and shelter. As urban greenspaces are being occupied by concrete residential buildings, these buildings will have to compensate for the percentage of urban green they are destroying and the issues they are imposing in the process. The goal of this thesis is to design, architecturally define and, categorize comprehensive 'sustainable Greenspace'(S.G.S) for the multi-family housing scenario. These will be different than the conventional green (veranda, rooftop green) we commonly see in residential buildings. An old, dilapidated apartment building will be the target of remodeling to fulfill the purpose of this thesis.
Northeast Asia has a multi-layered security structure within which major economic and military powers both confront one another and cooperate at the same time. Major regional powers maintain mutually cooperative activities in the economic sphere while competing one another in order to secure a dominant position in the politico-military arena. The multifarious threats, posed by the North Korea's nuclear development, territorial disputes, and maritime demarcation line issues demonstrate that Northeast Asia suffers more from military conflicts and strifes than any other region in the world. Specifically, major maritime security threats include North Korea's nuclear proliferation and missile launching problems as well as military provocations nearby the Northern Limit Line(NLL) as witnessed in the Cheonan naval ship and Yeonpyong incidents. The ROK Navy has been supplementing its firm military readiness posture in consideration of North Korea's threats on the NLL. It has performed superb roles in defending the nation and establishing the Navy advanced and best picked. It also has been conducive to defend the nation from external military threats and invasion, secure the sea lanes of communications, and establish regional stability and world peace. In order to effectively cope with the strategic environment and future warfares, the ROK Navy needs to shift its military structure to one that is more information and technology intensive. In addition, it should consolidate the ROK-US alliance and extend military cooperative measures with neighboring countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Evolved steadily for the last 60 years, the ROK-US alliance format has contributed to peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in the Northeast Asian region. In conclusion, this manuscript contends that the ROK Navy should strive for the establishment of the following: (1) Construction of Jeju Naval Base; (2) Strategic Navy Equipped with War Deterrence Capabilities; (3) Korean-type of System of Systems; (4) Structure, Budget and Human Resources of the Naval Forces Similar to the Advanced Countries; and (5) Strategic Maritime Alliance and Alignment System as well as Domestic Governance Network for the Naval Families.
