  • Optical flow estimation based on multi constraint approaches is frequently used for recognition of moving objects. However, the use have been confined because of OF estimation time as well as error problem. This paper shows a new method form effectively extracting movement information using the multi-constraint base approaches with sobel edge detection. The moving objects anr extraced in the input image sequence using edge detection and segmentation. Edge detection and difference of the two input image sequence gives us the moving objects in the images. The process of thresholding removes the moving objects detected due to noise. After thresholding the real moving objects, we applied the Combinatorial Hough Transform (CHT) and voting accumulation to find the optimal constraint lines for optical flow estimation. The moving objects found in the two consecutive images by using edge detection and segmentation greatly reduces the time for comutation of CHT. The voting based CHT avoids the errors associated with least squares methods. Calculation of a large number of points along the constraint line is also avoided by using the transformed slope-intercept parameter domain. The simulation results show that the proposed method is very effective for extracting optical flow vectors and hence recognizing moving objects in the images.

  • Moving object segmentation is a fundamental function for content-based application. Moving object edges are produced by matching the detected moving edges with the current frame edges. But we can often experience the object edge disconnectedness due to coincidence of similarity between the object and background colors or the decrease of movement of moving object. The edge disconnectedness is a serious problem because it degrades the object visual quality so conspicuously That it sometimes makes it inadequate to perform content-based coding. We have solved this problem by developing a robust and comprehensive edge linking algorithm. And we also developed an automatic moving object segmentation algorithm. These algorithms can produce the completely linked moving object edge boundary and the accurate moving object segmentation. These algorithms can process CIF 30 frames/sec in a PC. These algorithms can be used for the MPEG-4 content-based coding.

  • Since the change in Doppler centroid according to moving targets brings alteration to the phase in azimuth differential signals of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data, one can measure the velocity of the moving targets using this effect. In this study, we will investigate theoretically measuring the velocity of an object from azimuth differential signals by using range compressed data which is the interim outcome of treatment from the simulated SAR raw data of moving targets on the background of sea clutter. Also, it will provide evaluation for the elements that affect the estimation error of velocity from a single SAR sensor. By making RADARSAT-1 simulated image as a specific case, the research includes comparisons for the means of velocity measurement classified by the directions of movement in the four following cases. 1. A case of a single target without currents, 2. A case of a single target with tidal currents of 0.5 m/s, 1 m/s, and 3 m/s, 3. A case of two targets on a same azimuth line moving in a same direction and velocity, 4. A case of a single target contiguous to land where radar backscatter is strong. As a result, when two moving targets exist in SAR image outside the range of approximately 256 pixels, the velocity of the object can be measured with high accuracy. However, when other moving targets exist in the range of approximately 128 pixels or when the target was contiguous to the land of strong backscatter coefficient (NRCS: normalized radar cross section), the estimated velocity was in error by 10% at the maximum. This is because in the process of assuming the target's location, an error occurs due to the differential signals affected by other scatterers.

  • In this paper, the physical model and governing equations of a shallow arch with a moving boundary were studied. A model with a moving boundary can be easily found in a long span retractable roof, and it corresponds to a problem of a non-cylindrical domain in which the boundary moves with time. In particular, a motion equation of a shallow arch having a moving boundary is expressed in the form of an integral-differential equation. This is expressed by the time-varying integration interval of the integral coefficient term in the arch equation with an un-movable boundary. Also, the change in internal force due to the moving boundary is also considered. Therefore, in this study, the governing equation was derived by transforming the equation of the non-cylindrical domain into the cylindrical domain to solve this problem. A governing equation for vertical vibration was derived from the transformed equation, where a sinusoidal function was used as the orthonormal basis. Terms that consider the effect of the moving boundary over time in the original equation were added in the equation of the transformed cylindrical problem. In addition, a solution was obtained using a numerical analysis technique in a symmetric mode arch system, and the result effectively reflected the effect of the moving boundary.

  • To understand 'Moving up the charts' as a dynamic phenomenon in the K-pop entertainment industry, this study specifically analyzed the 'Moving up the charts' of 「Rollin'」 sung by 'Brave Girls'. First, the context and process related to 「Rollin'」 were described in detail, and the performance as a sound source and business were described. Subsequently, six factors were analyzed and presented as causes for 'Moving up the charts': 'Existence of specific possible triggers', 'Attractions of content itself', 'Inflow of new male fans', 'Turning weaknesses into strengths as idol', 'Psychological empathy with stories of real group' and 'Fast response and communication of agency'. Due to the influence of 'Moving up the charts', two changes were presented: 'Expansion of popularity and interest and expansion beyond songs' and 'Forming a consumer group with high purchasing power'. Through this, this study discussed the meaning, role, and possibility of 'Moving up the charts' in the K-pop entertainment industry. In the future, it will be necessary to recognize 'Moving up the charts' in the music market as a remarkable phenomenon, and to understand the importance of new idol consumer class as well as the use of related media such as YouTube.

  • In this paper, we obtain a second main theorem for holomorphic curves and moving hyperplanes of Pn(C) where the counting functions are truncated multiplicity and have different weights. As its application, we prove a uniqueness theorem for holomorphic curves of finite growth index sharing moving hyperplanes with different multiple values.

  • This paper a new solution approach to moving obstacle avoidance problem of a mobile robot. A new concept avoidability measure (AVM) is defined to describe the state of a pair of a robot and an obstacle regarding the collision between them. As an AVM, virtual distance function (VDF), is derived as a function of the distance from the obstacle to the robot and outward speed of the obstacle relative to the robot. By keeping the virtual distance above some positive limit value, the robot avoids the obstacle. In terms of the VDF ,an artificial potential field is constructed to repel the robot away from the obstacle and to attract the robot toward a goal location. At every sampling time, the artificial potential field is updated and the force driving the robot is derived from the gradient of the artificial potential field. The suggested algorithm drives the robot to avoid moving obstacles in real time. Since the algorithm considers the mobility of the obstacle as well as the distance, it is effective for moving obstacle avoidance. Some simulation studies show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

  • In this paper we suggested the moving magnet type actuator for optical disc drive which has high frequency of flexible mode. Generally, moving magnet type actuator has the advantage for increase the frequency of flexible mode. But it has low driving sensitivity due to the weight of its moving part. To overcome this shortcoming, we designed the model with the closed electromagnetic circuit for tracking direction. In addition, we improved the driving sensitivity and frequency of flexible mode by using of DOE (design of experiment) procedure for EM circuit. Consequently, it is verified that final designed model satisfied with the desired specifications.

  • This paper describes detection and tracking of a moving object for unmanned visual surveillance. security systems. Using images obtained from camera it detects and tracks a moving object and displays bounding box enclosing the moving object. The algorithm for detection and tracking is tested using a personal computer, and then implemented on EMPOS II embedded system. Simulation results show that the tracking of a moving object based on embedded system is working well. However it needs to improve image acquisition time for real time implementation to apply security systems.
