A study on driving characteristics of thin ultrasonic motor (박형 초음파 모터의 특성 연구)

  • In this study, novel structured thin ultrasonic rotary motor has been proposed. Ultrasonic motors are based on an elliptical motion on the surface of elastic body. ATILA ver. 5.2.4 was used for optimizing stator. The motor was fabricated by using designed stator. And characteristics of the motor were compared with simulated results. When the motor was fabricated with these results, 860[rpm] speed was obtain by input voltage of 16[Vrms] at 92.5[kHz].

  • The purpose of this project is to develop the visual servoing system with 5d.o.f robot manipulator. For this, we developed robot manipulator by using 5 serial RC motors and the visual system is also developed by using low cost USB CCD camera. RISC MPU ATMEGA128 is main controller MPU for the robot manipulator. To control the manipulator Kinematics was analyzed and GUI, API for vision system also were developed.

  • Permanent Magnet DC Motors are widely used in Automotive parts because they have cheap price, simple structure and high torque-speed ratio. But the motor in automotive parts is required high quality, complex function and lower price than before. This paper deals with design of controller for safety function that body trap on the automotive window. The algorithm of controller can adapt variety conditions with temperature, electrical, driving, etc.

  • An ultrasonic linear motor was composed of a slider and a stator vibrator including piezoelectric material and elastic material. The ultrasonic linear motors mainly consist of an ultrasonic oscillator which generates elliptical oscillations. Elliptical oscillations are generated by synthesizing two degenerated modes. Direction of vibratory displacement was analyzed by employing the finite element method. So, we could recognize that the direction of the slider's movement was controlled by changing the Phase difference of the drive voltage.

  • When high-voltage motors are started, inrush current is rising as a serious power quality problem in terms of electric power line. So, this study is measured electrical data from induction motor's various starting method and is proposed the most appropriate starting method for induction motor at WTPs.

  • A comprehensive analytical study of total-intake current waveforms is described. In particular, the characteristics of the modulation envelope of the waveforms are the subject of detailed investigation. It is shown that the lower modulation envelope of the total intake current is capable of providing a signal suitable for use in stabilising a variable-reluctance stepping motor.

  • Based on a field-oriented model of induction motor, adaptive backstepping approach using neural network(RBFN) is proposed for the control of induction motor in this paper. In order to achieve the speed regulation with the consideration of avoiding singularity and improving power efficiency, rotor angular speed and flux amplitude tracking objectives are formulated. rotor resistance uncertainty is compensated by adaptive backstepping and mechanical lumped uncertainty such as load torque disturbance, inertia moment, friction by RBFN. Simulation is provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

  • This paper presents a general analytical method for analyzing mechanical unbalance response of unbalanced electromagnetic forces produced in induction motors with an eccentric rotor and a phase unbalance. The equations to be solved are a set of second order differential equations which give matrices with periodic coefficients that are a function of time due to the unbalanced electro-magnetic force. Unbalance response is processed by Newmark $\beta$ method. Two examples are given including an industrial application. The results show that the method proposed is satisfactory.

  • Traveling wave on the structure can be generated by superposing two standing waves. Precise matching of the amplitudes and phase shift between two standing waves in time and space is the key to the success of generating a traveling wave. The principle of generating a traveling wave on the structure is utilized in the construction of linear and rotary type ultrasonic motors. This paper demonstrates experimentally generating a traveling wave on the simply supported beam.

  • This paper shows how boundary element method can be used to calculate torsion geometrical stiffness of cross-sections of various beams and airfoil profiles. Using the BEM direct formulation, the technique for determining bending and torsional geometrical characteristics of arbitrary multiply connected cross-sections is presented. The application limits of several well-known formulae on some test problems have been demonstrated and discused.
