뇌졸중 환자에서 운동단위의 초기 방전 양상 (Initial Motor Unit Discharge Pattern in Patients with Stroke)

  • Background : Changes in firing pattern and in the recruitment order of single motor unit(MU) have been claimed to be characteristic of central motor lesions, and a reduced firing rate was found in upper motor neuron lesions. But these findings have been rarely studied before in Korea, so we studied initial MU recruitment pattern in stroke patients with hemiparesis. Methods : We studied six patients(3 men and 3 women) whose mean age was $60.6{\pm}7.4$ years. A mean $20.6{\pm}16.2$ months had elapsed since the stroke. To compare the initial MU activation patterns in proximal and distal segments of paretic limb with their contalateral unaffected counterparts, we studied the onset and recruitment intervals in biceps brachii(BB) and first dorsal interossei(FDI) muscles in paretic and healthy arms. In a single muscle we examined from 5 to 10 individual MUs. And in a single motor unit, both the onset interval and the recruitment interval was examined. Results : The mean onset interval in paretic limb was significantly(p<0.05) longer than unaffected limb at proximal and distal location: BB $118.5{\pm}17.8$ msec vs $96.1{\pm}8.3$ msec(n=58); FDI $125.8{\pm}16.7$ msec vs $101.5{\pm}17.2$ msec(n=38). The mean recruitment interval in paretic limb was also significantly(p<0.05) longer than unaffected limb: BB $87.7{\pm}14.9$ msec vs $73.4{\pm}11.5$ msec(n=53); FDI $96.3{\pm}16.4$ msec vs $87.7{\pm}14.1$ msec(n=38). Conclusion : The first recruited MU had a lower baseline firing rate and the second recruited motor unit potential appeared earlier in paretic than in healthy muscles. And these findings may explain one of the reasons for paresis in patients with stroke.

  • As a main part of an utility helicopter, the APU(Auxiliary Power Unit) has a solenoid valve system operated with a torque motor, which controls the flow rate in the fuel supply system. In this paper, we solved the Maxwell potential equations to analyze the electromagnetic force in the torque motor, and some additional analytic methods are used to compute the quantity of torque produced by the torque motor for the given circuit current. For the convenience, small displacement is assumed, and only magneto-static problem is considered for the two-dimensional cross section. The result will be compared with the three-dimensional analysis that will be studied in the near future.

  • Static muscle contractions when prolonged or frequently repeated result in discomfort, fatigue, and musculosketal injuries. An analytic and quantitative model has been developed in order to expand the working knowledge on muscle fatigue. In this paper, three Markov models of muscle fatigue are developed. These models are based on motor unit fatigue-recovery characteristics obtained from information on motor unit behavior as it relates to fatigue and graded exertions. Three successively more realistic models are developed that involve: (1) homogeneous motor units with intensity-dependent fatigue rates and state-independent recovery rates (the HMSI model); (2) homogeneous motor units, intensity-dependent fatigue rates and state-dependent recovery rates (the HMSD model); and (3) non-homogeneous motor units (i.e., Type S and Type F), intensity-dependent fatigue rates and state-dependent recovery rates (the HMSD model). The result indicate that a simple stochastic model provide a means to analyze the complex nature of muscle fatigue in sequential static exertions.

  • A microcontroller-based DC motor control system for a total artificial heart(TAH) was developed. Using a one-chip microcontroller, 87Cl96KB, the design of digital motor speed control system and servo control system is demonstrated. Functionally, the control system consists of a position control unit, a speed control unit, and a communication unit. The performance and the reliability of the developed control system were assessed through a series of mock circulation system experiments.

표면 근전도를 이용한 이두박근의 운동단위 위치 추정에 관한 연구 (A Study on Estimation of Motor Unit Location of Biceps Brachii Muscle using Surface Electromyogram)

  • 본 논문에서는 표면 근전도(surface electromyogram, SEMG)를 이용하여 운동단위(motor unit, MU)의 위치(location)를 추정하는 새로운 방법을 제안하였다. 운동단위의 위치에 따라 운동단위 활동전위(motor unit action potential, MUAP), 나아가서는 표면 근전도의 크기(amplitude)가 변화하므로 운동단위의 위치 추정은 근력 추정에 있어서 중요하다. 제안된 방법은 표면근전도 시뮬레이션을 통해 취득한 기준 신호와 3 채널 표면전극을 이용하여 검출한 표면 근전도 신호를 비교하여 운동단위의 위치를 추정하는 방법이다. 운동단위 위치 추정의 정확도를 파악하기 위하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통하여 취득한 MUAP를 본 연구에서 제안한 방법 및 기존 방법들을 적용하여 확인하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 8[mm] 위치에 운동단위가 위치할 경우 본 논문에서 제안한 운동단위 위치 추정 방법은 0.01[mm]의 평균 추정 오차를 보였다. 반면에 Roeleveld가 제안한 추정 방법은 2.33[mm]의 평균 추정 오차를 보였으며 Akazawa가 제안한 추정 방법은 1.70[mm]의 평균 추정 오차를 보여 본 연구에서 제안한 운동단위 위치 추정 방법이 기존의 방법들에 비하여 더 정확한 위치 추정이 가능하였다.

회전익 항공기 보조동력장치 시동모터 운용성 개선연구 (The Study on Operability Improvement of the start motor for Auxiliary Power Unit of Rotorcraft)

  • 회전익 항공기의 보조동력장치(APU, Auxiliary Power Unit)는 지상 운용/비행 중 주 동력 기관의 시동, 환경제어시스템용 고압 공기 공급, 비상발전기 등의 역할을 수행한다. 보조동력장치(이하 'APU')는 소형 가스터빈엔진형태로 구성되어 있으며, 해당 구성품의 시동 원리는 전기 시동 모터를 사용하는 방식으로, 축을 회전시켜 시동에 필요한 동력을 발생시킨다. 본 연구에서는 회전익 항공기에 장착된 APU의 시동 모터 운용성 확보를 위해 APU와 APU 시동 모터 간 축간 분리 장치(Over-Running Clutch) 적용을 통한 품질개선을 수행하였다. APU 시동 모터는 초기 APU 시동이 주 역할이지만, 운용 시 실제 작동 시간 이후에도 APU 기어축의 회전력에 의해 무 부하 회전을 하게 되어 구성품/부품 간 과도한 마찰력이 지속적으로 발생하였다. 이러한 현상은 시동 모터 내부 브러시 마모를 유발하게 되고, 결과적으로 항공기 운용을 위한 APU 작동 시간 증가 시 브러시 운용 수명 감소와 APU의 운용성에 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 APU 시동 모터의 운용성/내구성 향상을 위하여 시동 모터 브러시 마모와 APU 작동시간의 연동성을 분리하는 축간 분리 장치(Over-Running Clutch)적용하여 시험으로 효과를 검증하였고, 설계변경에 따른 기술적 타당성을 분석하였다.

  • In this paper, we developed an expert system that helped a machine-tool designer to select a moderate servomotor of the feed drive unit of a machine tool. With the specification of the drive unit, it searches for the set of servo-motors that have enough torque and power to satisfy the driving condition which the designer defines from the database. me database also contains knowledge and rules, which describe the design process and calculate design parameters of a feed drive. The knowledge-based design support module shows every steps of inference and reason for the solution that it provides.

Design and Analysis of AFPM Coreless Motor for Electric Scooter

  • This paper deals with the design and the characteristic analysis of a coreless axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) motor. Because a direct-drive wheel motor is easily derived from it, the AFPM motor is very suitable for application in an electric scooter. Compared to a conventional motor of the same size and weight, the AFPM motor is proven to have more power and torque per unit weight. In this paper, an AFPM coreless motor with a double-sided rotor disk equipped with Nd-Fe-B rare earth magnets is designed and a prototype of the motor is manufactured, which will be properly applied for the low-speed, and high-torque direct drive required for the electric scooter. The manufactured prototype of the motor has a rating of 300W, 510rpm, 5.6Nm, and 85% efficiency.

독립 6상 BLDC 전동기의 특성해석에 관한 연구 (Characteristic Analysis of Independent 6 phase BLDC Motor)

  • This paper is described BLDC motor in the submarine propulsion system which is asked high power per unit area. This study analyzes the independent 6-phase BLDC motor a specific extended by existing the independent 3-phase BLDC motor and propose forward development direction. Independent 6-phase motor has a characteristics that phases of stator are independent electrically with each other and two's independence 3-phase BLDC motor are linked with each difference of 60 degree. Six-phase BLDC motor is simulated with Matlab-simulink, the simulation result has a high current and low torque pulsation than existent independence 3-phase BLDC motor.
