  • Intellectual disability affects all spheres of the lives of people can be who suffer from it. Unfortunately, modern medicine cannot cure intellectual disability. However, the quality of life improved by means of physical exercise. In this study, we compared the health-related physical fitness, metabolic syndrome index and mental health between a game biking group(5 participants) and a brisk walking group(4 participants). This study used a between-subject design and verified by non-parametric test. The participants performed an exercise program with warm up and resistance training for 12 weeks. A game bike was used for the physically impaired, where the individual looked at a screen and pedaled. The fasters he pedaled the faster the object on the screen movies. We measured health-related physical fitness, metabolic syndrome index and mental health. We also measured their perceived exertion and interest during the exercise by a visual analog scale. The results before and after the exercise program showed that health-related physical fitness, metabolic risk factors, mental health level were improved in both groups. As we hypothesized before the study, the game biking group showed a statistically significantly different level on the Rating of Perceived Exertion than the brisk walking group and a higher level on the Rating of Exercise Interest during the exercise program. Our results lead to a conclusion that an exercise program with the use of a game bike improve motivation for exercise participation in intellectually handicapped participants.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the possibility of applying big data analysis to provide appropriate feedback to students using evaluation data in science education at a time when interest in educational data mining has recently increased in education. In this study, we use the evaluation data of 2,576 students who took 24 questions of the national assessment of educational achievement. And we use K-means cluster analysis as a method of unsupervised machine learning for clustering. As a result of clustering, students were divided into six clusters. The middle-ranking students are divided into various clusters when compared to upper or lower ranks. According to the results of the cluster analysis, the most important factor influencing clusterization is academic achievement, and each cluster shows different characteristics in terms of content domains, subject competencies, and affective characteristics. Learning motivation is important among the affective domains in the lower-ranking achievement cluster, and scientific inquiry and problem-solving competency, as well as scientific communication competency have a major influence in terms of subject competencies. In the content domain, achievement of motion and energy and matter are important factors to distinguish the characteristics of the cluster. As a result, we can provide students with customized feedback for learning based on the characteristics of each cluster. We discuss implications of these results for science education, such as the possibility of using this study results, balanced learning by content domains, enhancement of subject competency, and improvement of scientific attitude.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of group success on organizational commitment in organizational situations. It also aimed to investigate the dynamics in the relevance of motivational attitudes to the individual and group level variables(collective efficacy, group cohesiveness). This study used a multi-level model and tested a series of hypotheses through meso-mediation procedure. The results from 613 naval officials in 36 groups provided evidence that; (1) collective efficacy mediated the relationship between group success and group cohesiveness, (2) the cross-level main effects of group success and collective efficacy were shown on vocationa[l self-efficacy, (3) group cohesiveness exerted positive influence on organizational commitment and (4) the meso-mediation effects among the variables at the multi-level were revealed. It was found that the degree of work motivation and motivational attitudes depended on the group's contextual factors, and that each group's shared perceptions on group performance outcomes could be an important motivational source and cornerstone leading to group cohesiveness. The implications and limitations of these study as well as the direction for future study were discussed.

  • This paper is to analyze effectiveness and efficiency of topographic features in visibility analysis. For this research aim, this paper compares the analysis results of topographic features and relationships between topographic features and their visibility analysis on surfaces. This paper employs peak, pass, pit, ridge and valley features from the topographic features for which five areas including mountain and plain areas in Britain are selected and their DEM data are generated. The summaries of the analysis results are as follows: Firstly, it is clear that relationship between high elevation points and their visibility is not highly correlated. This means that highly elevated points are not necessarily better visible areas and they are not suitable for searching for large visible areas. Secondly, the positions that can see large visible areas are highly correlated with their elevation and are distributed within a certain range which has small deviation of their correlation between visibility and elevation. This means that to search for large visible areas, it is necessary to employ the positions located at relatively high elevation area. Thirdly, for all of the five areas, the visibility results of the topographic features are compared with maximal visibility resulted from a while surface areas, and it is identified that topographic features show similar visibility performances of that maximal visibility. From the results stated above, it can be inferred that topographic features and its topographic characteristics are enable to be a research motivation to the visibility analysis topics. Furthermore, the results of this paper can be contributed to explore suitable variables and factors for solving multiple viewshed problems.

  • This study was to develop the fun perception scale measuring what conditions employees experience fun feeling in work and to examine the construct validity of it. For this, the pre-studies(open-ended questionnaire, in-depth interviews, literature survey, pre-survey) were conducted to develop the preliminary questions of fun scale. In main study, 250 employees(male: 125, female, 125) were responded to a questionnaire consisted of 40 questions of fun perception scale extracted by pre-studies. The results were as follow. First, through the item analysis, factor analysis and reliability analysis, 7 factors composed of 29 items were extracted: 'self-determination', 'extrinsic reward', 'goal achievement', 'pleasure in the process', 'contribution to the company', 'worthless', 'challenge'. Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient of each factor was suitable. Secondly, EFA was conducted to test the construct validity of fun scale with AMOS 16.0. Several goodness of fit indexes were used to assess model fit: X2/df, TLI, CFI, RMSEA. The results were revealed that all the indexes were acceptable with no additional modification. Based on these findings, the theoretical and the practical implications of fun perception scale were discussed.

  • Digital transformation and the COVID-19 pandemic have facilitated the rapid development and dissemination of non-face-to-face technologies such as self-service technologies (SSTs). This research investigates how motivation factors affect consumers' negative responses to digital shadow work (DSW) in SSTs which decreases their continuous use intention of SSTs. Also, we examine whether the grafication delay ability moderates the relationship between consumers' negative responses to DSW and their continuous use intention of SSTs. By an analysis of usable 450 user respondents via SmartPLS 4.0, perceived benefits was found to significantly influence consumers' negative responses to DSW. Also, consumers' negative responses to DSW can significantly decrease their intention to continue using SSTs. Further, the effect of negative responses to DSW on continuous use intention of SSTs is stronger in case of consumers with low gratification delay ability than in case of consumers with high gratification delay ability. The study findings contribute to providing some strategies for companies operating SSTs by examining the effects of consumer's responses to DSW and gratification delay ability on the continuous usage intention of SSTs.
