In this paper, we presetn the WWW (world-wide-web) base dtelePACS, which uses the communication network as asymmetric satellite data communication system (ASDCS). Web-based telePACS is imple-mented with JAVA language. Through the internet, web-based TelePACS can make it possible for remote hospital or doctor to access PACS data and information easily and cheaply. The ASDCS uses receive-only satellite links for data delivery and PSTN (Public switched telephone Network) modem or N-ISDN (narrow band integrate services digital network) for communication. The satellite communication linking shows the very high-seed performance such as 10-30 times faster than the modem linking.To solve the speed limits of internet, JPEG and wavelet compression methods were adapted in WWW-based TelePACS and were evaluated by PSNR (peak signal-to-noise ratio) and by radiological experts that 10:1 or less JPEG and wavelet compression may be acceptable for diagnostic purposes. Consequently, we get the conslusion that our system is suitable for tele-radiology and telemedicine world widely.

A new Modem technique - 8-state Superposed QAM(8SQAM) - for use in power and bandwidth limited digital communication system is proposed. The premodulation baseband signal of the 8SQAM system is a double-interval(2Ts) raised cosine pulse superposed with weighted single-interval(Ts) raised cosine pulse. The performance of the 8SQAM, in a nonlinearly amplified multi-channel environment with additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN), inter-symbol interference(ISI), inter-modulation(IM) and adjacent channel interference(ACI), is analyzed via computer simulation. The simulation result shows that the 8SQAM outperforms 8PSK by about 1.6㏈ at BER=$1\times10^{-4}$ when HPA IBO is 1㏈ and channel Spacing, ${\Delta}F$ is 0.417fb.

From ancient times to today the formation of centrality in architecture has taken very important role as an organizing device. However after 19th century modem architecture focused on the universal aspect and homogeneity of space, and developed its own vocabulary through de-centralization. Since 1960's the reflections on de-humanized space of modem space have been evloved. As those movement has been understood seriously, the centrality can be changed to phenomenological one. And The phenomenological centrality maintains organic balance with its surroundings not trying to form a hierarchic system. So it shows human-oriented tendency and facilitates experiential movements of human body. And it also gives a sense of being. The phenomenological centrality is comprised of center, boundary, and two types of axis. The characteristics of phenomenological centrality can be analyzed as practical and meaningful center, visible boundary, experiential movement, and unexpectable encounters with spaces and nature.

The main goal of this work is to fabricate light emitting diode (LED) module and apply it to mobile handset. We first fabricated the blue-color LED based on the AlInGaN cell structure with size of $200\;{\mu}m\;{\times}\;200\;{\mu}m$. Also we proposed a new $1.0\;mm\;{\times}\;0.5\;mm$ (1005size) packaging procedure for the LED cell. Thus the overall dimension of our LED cell was as small as $1.0\;mm\;{\times}\;0.5\;mm\;{\times}\;0.4\;mm$ ($W\;{\times}\;L\;{\times}\;T$). As far as we knew it was the first time that this small LED cell dimension had been fabricated and operated.

The paradigm of contemporary times became different from paradigm of modem times. The change of paradigm is caused by the side effect of paradigm of pre-times. It could be said that contemporary paradigm is pluralism. In the forms of contemporary building and interior design, the informal form is the result of pluralism. This study is researching and analyzing the informal design tendency in the interior space composition of contemporary architecture. the 1950's free form movement, 1960's Informal movement and pluralism after 1970's affected the latest informal forms. The tendencies of contemporary informal design are organic-degital tendency and deconstructive tendency. Along this two kinds of tendencies, I studied the specific characters in expression and analyzed some natural-degital, deconstructive building.

We designed a 128-tap FIR filter for a modem which complies with ITU-T V.32. We adopted pipeline technique and realized delay-taps with two ring-buffers. The multiplier in this filter carries out 2's complement fixed-point multiplication of 14bit $\times$ 16bit. The designed filter is expected to operate at 50MHz.

It is imperative that Schools of Pharmacy push the frontiers of their science. Those professions that do not do their own research are technical fields and not professions. With that imperative it is important to develop a perspective on the historic evolution of research in Schools of Pharmacy, that was in concert with the subject matter of the professional curriculum, and has changed somewhat in modem times to reflect not only our professional program but also our mandate to graduate student education and training and to elevate the status of schools of pharmacy in research intensive universities. The purposes of this study is to investigate the characteristics of historicism in modern fashion and to introduce the appropriate approaching and application method of costume history. As one of the characteristic of Post modernism, historicism is an important theme in modern fashion. In this study, the background and the characteristic of Post modernism is considered and the historicism in the Post modern architecture and literature is studied. Next, through the artworks of Vivienne Westwood and Christian Lacroix who are excellent in the modernization of historical costume, the historicism in modern fashion is studied. The characteristic of historicism in Post modem architecture and literature comes from the nostalgia, aspiration for the past, and recurrence to the nature. It is not the revival of the past but the crossover of the past and the present. The characteristics of historicism in modern fashion are as follows. ·form; style, silhouette, and items that are shown in the historical costume come with the mixture of modem textile, new technique, and modem design. ·Materials and patterns; classical and romantic patterns, the artwork of the artist, and the fabric which is remake of remains are used. ·Technique; Tailoring techniques and the pattern making of the historical costume are used. ·Trimmings and etc.; Lots of handworks, trimmings and accessaries in that are inspired from the past are used. These elements are not come from a certain place and time but mixed surpassing places and times. With that, not only the form and the position of wearing but the meaning and purpose of wearing are changed.

High Tech Design manner is a design concept that had been constantly discussed in constitution process of the West art history and modem ideology and had been experimented in industry, having started from futurism and structuralism in the early 20th century through Kinetic Art & Technology Art and up to now. High Tech Design had a great influence also on Post Modernism and more important is that this manner of design will be existing continually in the future too. From the modem times when machine civilization started, the artist and designers expressed a utopia will showing the future world with help of High Tech Design and modem people are realizing technology images as a utopia, in the space and material presented by this high tech design. And this utopia imply the images of dynamic power, speed making a voyage in universe, dream of future, hope, mass production, earth's environment, wealth etc. High Tech furniture was lightly designed by using thin steel wire, structure stressing the metallic characteristic and tempered glass, and it was used for presenting a convenient interior space visually, and with that it can make a unified sense in High Tech interior space, and a contrary effect compared with minimal space. High Tech Design equipped with glass and metal materials looking inappropriate for our interior space due to their sharp and cold image has been regularly used as living furniture, not only decoration function, and then there must be reasons for that. This study intends to research how High Tech Design has been changed and developed in the design history & West art history from the early 20th century, and to present it's value of development as data orienting, namely a direction for the industry of the next-generation and furniture design.

TETRA is the standard of Digital Trunked Radio System developed by the ETSI(European Telecommunications Standards Institute). It is adopted as Electric Power IT Wireless Backbone Network in Korea. To use TETRA wireless network, TETRA modem is very necessary. In this paper, the performance measurements of modem and its results are analyzed according to traffics in TETRA network. In this paper, SDS type-4 transmission method is used in the transmission standards suggested by PEI(Peripheral Equipment Interface) of ETSI. Performance measurements are done by varying the data size and transmission interval. The data size is increased by 10 bytes from 10-byte to 140-byte, and it is measured 1,000 times for each transmission interval of 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 seconds. MU-1000MD of Unimo is used for TETRA modem, and SwMI(Switching and Management Infrastructure) of Teltronic is used for switching system in this paper.
