In order to develop the method for the calculation of flow resistance acting on cage net, the relation between the velocity reduction factor and $S_n/S$, the ratio of total area of netting projected to the perpendicular to the water flow $S_n$ to wall area of netting S, was derived based on the numerical and experimental analysis of the wake flow through a netting twine simplified by a cylinder and a netting panel. The velocity was reduced in accordance with the velocity reduction factor when the flow passed the netting panel upstream of a cage net. The proposed method for the calculation of fluid force acting on a square cage net was based upon the assumption that it could be divided into four side panels and one bottom panel. It was proved that the force could be calculated by the sum of the drag forces acting on the individual netting panels.

A Propeller design method using the newly developed blade section(KH18), which behaves better cavitation characteristics, is presented. Experimental results for two-dimensional foil sections show that the lift-drag curve and the cavitation-free bucket diagram of the new blade section are wider comparing to those of the existion NACA sections. This characteristic of the new section is particularly important for marine propeller applications since angle of attack variation of the propeller blade operating behind a non-uniform ship's wake is relatively large. A lifting surface theory is used for the design of a propeller with the developed section for a 2700 TEU container ship. Since the most suitable chordwise loading shape is not known a priori, chordwise loading shape is chosen as a design parameter. Five propellers with different chordwise loading shapes and different foil sections are designed and tested in the towing tank and cavitation tunnel at KRISO. It is observed by a series of extensive model tsets that the propeller(KP197) having the chordwise loading shape, which has less leading edge loading at the inner radii and more leading edge loading at the outer radii of 0.7 radius, has higher propulsive efficiency and better cavitation characteristics. The KP197 propeller shows 1% higher efficiency, 30% cavitation volume reduction and 9% reduction of fluctuating pressure level comparing to the propeller with an NACA section. More appreciable efficiency gain for the new blade section propeller would be expected by reduction of expanded blade area considering the better cavitation characteristics of the new blade section.

This paper is intended to provide the background information and justification for Korean highway bridge design code(limit state design)(2012). Limit state design method calculates reliability index and probability of failure through the analysis of the reliability of the experimental database. It has become possible to perform the economical and consistent design by evaluating the safety of a structure quantitatively. In this paper, we used the design specifications of RC slab bridge of superstructure form of Road Design Manual in Part 5 bridge built in highway bridge. This study conducted structural analysis using the method of frame structure theory, design and analysis of bridge by limit state design method, the design code including various standards and Load model applied Korean highway bridge design code limit state design(KHBDC;2012). As a result, it analyzed the effect of safety through comparison. Showing effect of improvement the safety factor and comparing the value of the result, it is determined to be capable of economical design and safety. Furthermore, limit state design method was able to determine many redundant force of cross-section compared with existing design method. It is determined that it can reduce the overall amount because of the reduction of the cross-section and girder depth.

Currently, DTD(Document Type Definition) Definition of Music score has been widely studied according to applications, and the methods of automatic transformation from defined DTD to XML Schema is in progress. In addition, studies of structure of DTD definition are focused on the expression of music information by individual format. In this paper, expression method of the music information by continuous string values is suggested using the fact that measure is basically a component of score, and XML Schema is also modelled. In addition, mechanism extracting the music information from XML instance which was expressed using the proposed method is presented. As a result, XML Schema taking the continuous string values could be defined, instance obtained by the proposed method results in increasing efficiency by simplicity of XPATH and reduction of search step compared to previous method. In addition, it is possible for human to make direct expression, and it is known that the instance size decreases.

In this study, a field model experiment was performed to analyze the bahavior of slope during failure. It was analyzed through x-MR control chart method with inverse displacement and K-value. As a result, the portent was confirmed at 4 minutes before slope failure in Case 1. The change of the control limit line according to moving range was analyzed and it was effective to apply K = 3. Use of the inverse displacement and x-MR control chart method will be useful for the prediction of abnormal behavior through quick and objective judgment. Prediction of slope failure using control chart method can be used as basic data of slope measurement management standard, and it can contribute in reduction of life and property damage caused by slope disaster.

We have designed the system that measure one channel ECG by two electrode and extract real-time EDR with more related resipiration and comportable to subject by using conductive textile. On the assumption that relation between RL electrode and potential measurement electrode is coupled with RC connected model, we designed RL drive output to feedback two electrode for reduction of common mode signal. The conductive textile which was used for two ECG electrode was offered more comfort during night sleep in bed than any other method using attachments. In the method of single-lead EDR, R wave point or QRS interval area could be used for EDR estimation in traditional method, it is, so to speak, the amplitude modulation(AM) method for EDR. Alternatively, R-R interval could be used for frequency modulation(FM) method based on Respiratory Sinus Arrhythmia(RSA). For evaluation of performance on AM EDR and FM EDR from 14 subject, ECG lead III was measured. Each EDR was compared with both temperature around nose(direct measurement of respiration) and respiration signal from thoracic belt(indirect measurement of respiration) on mean squared error(MSE), cross correlation(Xcorr), and Coherence. The upsampling interpolation technique of multirate signal processing is applied to interpolating data instead of cubic spline interpolation. As a result, we showed the real-time EDR extraction processing to be implemented at micro-controller.

It is generally important to get a precise position information for autonomous unmanned vehicle(AUV) to run safely. For getting the position of AUV, the GPS has been using to navigation in a vehicle. Though it is useful to finding a position, it is difficult to precisely control a trajectory of the AUV due to large measuring error which may reach over 10 meters. Therefore to apply AUV it needs to compensate for the error. This paper proposes a method to more precisely localize AUV using three low-cost differential global positioning systems (DGPS). The distance errors between each DGPS are minimized as using the least square method (LSM) and the Kalman filter to eliminate a Gaussian white noise. The selected DGPS is cheaper and easier to set up than the RTK-GPS. It is also more precise than the general GPS. The proposed method can compensate the relatively position error according to stationary and moving distance of the AUV. For evaluating the algorithm by simulation, the DGPS signal with the Gaussian white noise to any points is generated by the AR model and compared with the measurement signal. It is confirmed that the proposed method can effectively compensate the position error as comparing with the measurement signal. The compensated position signal can be used to localize and control the AUV in the road.

Productivity measurement of construction machinery is a significant issue faced by many contractors especially those involved in earthwork projects. Traditionally, equipment production rate has been estimated using data available in manufacturers' catalogues, results of previous construction projects, or personal experience and assessments of the site personnel. Actual production rates obtained after the completion of a project demonstrate the fact that most of these methods fail to provide accurate results and as a direct consequence, may lead to unrealistic project cost estimations prepared by the contractors. What makes this more critical is that in most cases, inadequate cost estimations lead the entire project to exceed the initial budget or fall behind the schedule. In this paper, a linear regression method to estimate bulldozer productivity is introduced. This method has been developed using SPSS-16 software package. The presented method is used to estimate the productivity of Komatsu D-155A1 series which is commonly used in many earthmoving operations in Iran. The data required for the numerical analysis has been collected from actual site observation and productivity measurement of 60 pieces of D-155A1 series currently being used in several earthmoving projects in Iran. Comparative analysis of the output data of the presented regression method and the existing productivity tables provided by the manufacturer shows that when compared to the actual productivity data collected on the jobsite, a significant increase in accuracy and a remarkable reduction of data variance can be achieved by using the presented regression method.
This paper has focused on presenting vibration analysis of trapezoidal sandwich plates with a damaged core and FG wavy CNT-reinforced face sheets. A damage model is introduced to provide an analytical description of an irreversible rheological process that causes the decay of the mechanical properties, in terms of engineering constants. An isotropic damage is considered for the core of the sandwich structure. The classical theory concerning the mechanical efficiency of a matrix embedding finite length fibers has been modified by introducing the tube-to-tube random contact, which explicitly accounts for the progressive reduction of the tubes' effective aspect ratio as the filler content increases. The First-order shear deformation theory of plate is utilized to establish governing partial differential equations and boundary conditions for the trapezoidal plate. The governing equations together with related boundary conditions are discretized using a mapping-generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method in spatial domain. Then natural frequencies of the trapezoidal sandwich plates are obtained using GDQ method. Validity of the current study is evaluated by comparing its numerical results with those available in the literature. After demonstrating the convergence and accuracy of the method, different parametric studies for laminated trapezoidal structure including carbon nanotubes waviness (0≤w≤1), CNT aspect ratio (0≤AR≤4000), face sheet to core thickness ratio (0.1 ≤ ${\frac{h_f}{h_c}}$ ≤ 0.5), trapezoidal side angles (30° ≤ α, β ≤ 90°) and damaged parameter (0 ≤ D < 1) are carried out. It is explicated that the damaged core and weight fraction, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) waviness and CNT aspect ratio can significantly affect the vibrational behavior of the sandwich structure. Results show that by increasing the values of waviness index (w), normalized natural frequency of the structure decreases, and the straight CNT (w=0) gives the highest frequency. For an overall comprehension on vibration of laminated trapezoidal plates, some selected vibration mode shapes were graphically represented in this study.
This study is designed to verify the actual effect on the prevention of the elderly suicide of the integrated crisis intervention service which has been widely provided across all local communities in Gyeonggi-province focusing on the integrated crisis intervention model developed for the prevention of elderly suicide. The integrated crisis intervention model for the local communities and its manual were developed for the prevention of elderly suicide by integrating the crisis intervention theory which contains local community's integrated system approach and the stress vulnerability theory. For the analysis of the effect, the geriatric depression and suicidal ideation scale was adopted and the data was collected as follows; The data was collected from 258 people in the first preliminary test. Then, it was collected from the secondary test of 184 people after the integrated crisis intervention service was performed for 6 months. The third collection of data was made from 124 people after 2 or 3 years later using the backward tracing method. As for the analysis, the researcher used the R Statistics computing to conduct the test equating, and the vertical scaling between measuring points. Then, the researcher conducted descriptive statistics analysis and univariate analysis of variance, and performed multi-level modeling analysis using Bayesian estimation. As a result of the study, it was found out that the integrated crisis intervention model which has been developed for the elderly suicide prevention has a statistically significant effect on the reduction of elderly suicide in terms of elderly depression and suicide ideation in the follow-up measurement after the implementation of crisis intervention rather than in the first preliminary scores. The integrated crisis intervention model for the prevention of elderly suicide was found to be effective to the extent of 0.56 for the reduction of depression and 0.39 for the reduction of suicidal ideation. However, it was found out in the backward tracing test conducted 2-3 years after the first crisis intervention that the improved values returned to its original state, thus showing that the effect of the intervention is not maintained for long. Multilevel analysis was conducted to find out the factors such as the service type(professional counseling, medication, peer counseling), characteristics of the client (sex, age), the characteristics of the counselor(age, career, major) and the interaction between the characteristics of the counselor and intervention which affect depression and suicidal ideation. It was found that only medication can significantly reduce suicidal ideation and that if the counselor's major is counseling, it significantly further reduces suicidal ideation by interacting with professional counseling. Furthermore, as the characteristics of the suicide prevention experts are found to regulate the intervention effect on elderly suicide prevention in applying integrated crisis intervention model, the primary consideration should be given to the counseling ability of these experts.
