  • It is hard to predict when and where a fall accident will happen. Also, if rapid follow-up measures on it are not performed, a fall accident leads to a threat of life, so studies that can automatically detect a fall accident have become necessary. Among automatic fall-accident detection techniques, a fall detection scheme using an IMU (inertial measurement unit) sensor attached to a wrist is difficult to detect a fall accident due to its movement, but it is recognized as a technique that is easy to wear and has excellent accessibility. To overcome the difficulty in obtaining fall data, this study proposes an algorithm that efficiently learns less data through machine learning such as KNN (k-nearest neighbors) and SVM (support vector machine). In addition, to improve the performance of these mathematical classifiers, this study utilized feature data aquired in the frequency space. The proposed algorithm analyzed the effect by diversifying the parameters of the model and the parameters of the frequency feature extractor through experiments using standard datasets. The proposed algorithm could adequately cope with a realistic problem that fall data are difficult to obtain. Because it is lighter than other classifiers, this algorithm was also easy to implement in small embedded systems where SIMD (single instruction multiple data) processing devices were difficult to mount.

A Study on Factors Affecting Work-Life Balance of Social Workers by Age (사회복지사 연령별 일-생활 균형 영향요인 비교연구)

  • This study was conducted to empirically verify the factors that affect work-life balance according to the age of social workers. The subjects of the study were social workers working at social welfare centers, welfare centers for the disabled, and welfare centers for the elderly located in Jeollabuk-do, and 313 copies of 42 facilities that participated in the survey were used for the final analysis. The research method used a multi-level model that calculated individual factors (Level 1) and institutional factors (Level 2). The main research results are as follows. First, 20.2% of the total variance in the work-life balance of social workers was found to be different for each local welfare center. Second, as a result of examining the factors affecting work-life balance of social workers by age, it was found that job demands had a negative effect on work-life balance in all age groups. In particular, in their 30s, family demands and women's work-life balance were more negative than men's, and economic status was found to be an important influencing factor on work-life balance. Based on these results, we discussed ways to improve work-life balance for social workers.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze priorities of competencies and to find the direction of development of teacher librarian training and retraining program. A total of 238 subjects were used for the final analysis. They were analayzed using IPA, Borich's needs analysis and the Locus for Focus model. As a result, First, teacher librarians perceived that the importance and performance of teacher and manager competency were higher than information specialist and cooperative leader. Second, they needed competencies of data-science, coding, Internet of Things in the field of information specialist as changing educational environment. Third, they needed competencies of information ethics, copyright instruction, and digital and media literacy education in the field of teacher. Fourth, they needed competencies of facility designing for future education, online and offline school library marketing skills, and establishment of makerspaces and learning commons in the field of ibrary manager. Fifth, they needed competencies of library based instruction, library cooperative instruction, and building a collection related to subject in the field of cooperative leader. Sixth, the highest required competency for teacher librarians was suggested for teacher librarians' role area.

Determinants of Hotel Customers' Use of the Contactless Service: Mixed-Method Approach (호텔 고객의 비대면 서비스 이용의도의 영향요인에 대한 연구)

  • The development of information and communication technology and COVID-19 have caused an unusual change in the hotel industry, and the demand for the contactless services such as service robots from hotel customers has surged. Therefore, this study investigates the perception of hotel customers on contactless services by applying a mixed-method analysis. Specifically, this study identified the causal correlations between variables through the structural equation model, and further applied the fuzzy set qualitative comparison analysis to derive patterns of variables that form the intention to use the non-face-to-face services. As a result of the analysis, it was shown that service experience co-creation, palyfulness, personalization, and trust had a significant effect on intention to use through the contactless service use desire. On the other hand, in the results of fuzzy-set qualitative comparison analysis, playfulness was derived as a core factor in all patterns. Based on these analysis results, this study provides academic basis for in-depth understanding of hotel customers' perception of contactless service and specific guidelines for hotel managers on the contactless service strategies in the era of COVID-19 pandemic.

Analysis of the Results between On-Line and Face-to-Face Classes in 'Calculus' & 'Mathematical Education Theory' (수학교과교육학 및 교과내용학 강좌의 대면 및 비대면 운영 결과 비교 분석)

  • This study explores classes for pre-service mathematics teachers. The purpose of this study is to examine the differences between 'non-face-to-face' classes & 'face-to-face' classes, as well as the differences in learning outcomes between these two methods. A Professors' Learning Group was formed to effectively carry out this study. Through this learning group, we shared how to plan and operate the lecture. The subjects of this study are 'non-face-to-face calculus courses & face-to-face calculus courses' and 'non-face mathematics education theory courses & face-to-face mathematics education theory courses." Specifically, in these two pairs of courses, we analyze the differences in course management and the differences in the outcomes of students' assessments. Non-face-to-face classes were planned, developed, implemented and evaluated based on the 'non-face class design model.' The results of this study are as follows: First, we explored the differences between 'non-face-to-face classes/mixed classes' and 'face-to-face classes.' Second, the achievement results in calculus courses were higher in face-to-face classes than in non-face classes. Third, the results of achievements in mathematics education theory courses were higher in mixed classes than in face-to-face classes. Through the results of this study, we hope that the non-face-to-face class capabilities can be improved in pre-service mathematics teacher training.

  • The scientific paper studies the impact of tourism and traveling on the economic level of development of countries at the macro level and its relationship with other sectors of the economy. Tourism is one of the budget-forming factors of every economy. This work describes the main trends in the development of tourism. It is determined that about one third of tourism revenues are generated by the food sector, i.e., the culinary niche of tourism. Culinary tourism is a new direction of tourism, but it is developing quite dynamically in the EU. Culinary is an important part of rural tourism in the EU and culinary tourism is actively promoted at fairs and festivals. In recent years rural tourism has been developing both at the international level and in Ukraine, primarily due to its features, which include the implementation of the principles of sustainable community development, preservation of local traditions and cultural values, gastronomic events to promote them. The aim of the article is to study the theoretical aspects of the development of gastronomic tourism in the world, to analyze the actual condition of gastronomic tourism in the EU and Ukraine, identifying prospects and ways to develop regional gastronomic tourism. The methodological and informational basis of the work is analytical reports and researches related to the development of event tourism and statistics. Systematic and logistical approaches to the studied problems were used to achieve this goal. Various general scientific and special research methods were also used. Based on PESTLE analysis, key aspects of the external environment of gastronomic tourism in Ukraine are identified. We took into account the principles of sustainable development: political, economic, social, technological, legal and environmental. The main trends in the development of gastronomic tourism in the world are studied and it is found that the greatest development in the coming years will be the trend of combining gastronomic and event tourism on the basis of sustainable development. The main preconditions and possibilities of introduction of this holistic approach to the strategy of development of the tourist branch of Ukraine are determined. A model of sustainable value chain of gastronomic tourism in the region is formed and the main advantages of its implementation are identified: formation of a regional brand, preservation of culinary traditions, development of green farming, minimization of negative impact on the environment, sustainable development of communities.

Development of a Dietary Education Program for Korean Young Adults in Single-Person Households (청년 1인가구를 위한 식생활교육 프로그램 개발)

  • This study reports on the development of a dietary education program for Korean young adults in single-person households. The 7th National Health and Nutrition Survey (2016-2018) was used to compare and analyze the dietary behavior of single-person households and multi-person households, and an online survey was conducted on 350 young adults (age 19-39 years) living in Seoul. According to the analysis, single-person households had higher rates of breakfast and eating out than multi-person households, and significantly lower average intake of energy and nutrients (p<0.05). In particular, in the case of single-person households, the lower the frequency of cooking at home, the higher the rate of breakfast and the higher the frequency of eating out and delivery food (p<0.05). Based on the survey, a dietary education program for young adults single-person households was developed by applying the DESIGN six-step procedure and social cognitive theory as a conceptual model. The first session consisted of the health and economic benefits of home-cooked meals, the second session of the importance of the breakfast and the effect of exercise in life, the third session of the importance of balanced nutrition and the principles of a healthy diet, the fourth session of food safety and storage, and the fifth session of social dining. Each session was composed of a combination of theoretical lectures to motivate 'more making and eating healthy home-cooked meals' and cooking practice for improving behavioral performance.

Detection of Earnings Management as a Measure of Income Smoothing on Fluctuations in Exchange Rates: Managerial Implications for Korean Exporters

  • Purpose - Foreign Exchange Rates (FER) have been one of the most significant factors for both Korean exporters and the economy of Korea. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether exporters with a high level of Exchange Rate Elasticity of Sales (ERES) make the use of earnings management for Income Smoothing (IS). Design/methodology - Income smoothing was obtained using the methodology suggested by Leuz, Nanda and Wysocki (2003). Accruals-based Earnings Management (AEM) was estimated using Discretionary Accruals (DA) calculated by the operant Jones Model developed by Dechow, Sloan and Sweeney (1995). Real Earnings Management (REM) was obtained using the methodologies suggested by Roychowdhury (2006) and Cohen and Zarowin (2010). Data were 2,402 firm years of public listed companies on the KRX, which were not in the financial industry and had a settlement of accounts in December for the period from 2013 to 2017. Findings - Results of the evaluation are as follows. First, companies with higher levels of ERES have relatively lower levels of smoothing of reported income. This might be because a fluctuation in sales caused by an exchange rate fluctuation has a direct impact on the volatility of the reported income. Second, companies with high levels of both ERES and IS have a positive correlation with both AEM and REM. This might be because companies with high levels of IS engage in earnings management to smooth reported income. Specifically, it is possible to assume that for smoothing the reported income, not only AEM but also REM is practiced. Third, companies with high levels of ERES but low levels of IS have a negative correlation with both AEM and REM. This could be interpreted as companies exhibiting low levels of IS due to higher levels of ERES tend to control IS. In addition, such results were supported by firms relying highly on exporting, and are consequently sensitive to exchange rate fluctuation. Therefore, it may conclude that companies with high levels of ERES make the use of earnings management as a means of IS. Originality/value - This study can find its significance from the fact that it is the first study, empirically verifying that companies of Korea, where exportation is a large part, use both AEM and REM as a means for smoothing reported income upon facing exchange rate fluctuations. In addition, it is highly expected that the results of this study could be useful for participants of financial markets when making IS-related decisions.

The Effect of the Interest in the Latest Technology of the 4th Industrial Revolution among Workers at Welfare Institutions for the Disabled on the Resistance and Anxiety : The Mediating Effect of Acceptance of the Latest Technology (장애인복지기관 종사자의 4차산업혁명 최신기술 관심도가 최신기술 활용 저항도와 불안도에 미치는 영향: 최신기술 수용도의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect from acceptance of the latest 4th Industrial Revolution technologies on the relationships between interest in the latest technologies, resistance to the latest technologies, and anxiety in workers at welfare institutions for the disabled. In order to achieve this goal, data were collected from July to August 2018 from workers at disability welfare centers in P Metropolitan City, and we analyzed data from 187 persons. Multiple regression analysis was applied to test the causal relationships between variables; the step-by-step analysis model of Baron and Kenny (1986) was used to verify mediating effects, and the Sobel test was performed to verify their significance. The analyses verified that the degree of interest in the latest technologies affects the degree of resistance to, and anxiety over, the latest technologies through acceptance of the latest technologies. At the same time, we verified that the degree of interest had a complete mediation effect because it did not directly affect the acceptance. In addition, the Sobel test result showed that the mediating effect was statistically significant. In other words, it was found that the degree of interest in the latest 4th Industrial Revolution technologies from workers at welfare institutions for the disabled increases the possibility of adaptation to future society by lowering resistance and anxiety through acceptance of the latest technologies. Based on these results, a plan to reduce resistance to, and anxiety over, the latest technologies was sought, and related measures to increase interest in the latest technologies and their acceptance are suggested.

A Study on the Development of Visual Arts Convergence Education Model with the Formless Concept (비정형 개념에 따른 시각예술 융합교육 모형 개발)

  • This study was initiated with the attention of demanding new and diverse approaches, we're talking familiar with imitations in the design process like a way to draw a image. So I studied a convergence of humanities and visual arts with the understanding and conceptual approach of the formless. The purpose of this study is to develop formless languages and to organize practical courses which are to enable deeper research and design expression on theoretical approaches and explanations of outcomes required before and after the process when we practice in connection with the formless. The method of this study is to draw detailed items from selected words through advanced researches, work and author researches and practice teaching. The results of the study I proposed the formless language that is related to the horizontality in spatial positioning system, and pulse in the separation of space and time, and entropy in structural orders of the system, and base materialism in the limitation of matter as the operating mechanism and parent item of formless. And those elements are related with shape, size, shading, color, texture, space, structure as visual elements of formative elements and those have various adjectival meanings as the subordinate concept. So I presented an education materials of basic design which is to enable understanding and expressing the formless language in the overall process of formless visual art(theoretical approach, practice course, presentation, etc.). Based on these study results, I hope that this educational materials will be used as educational contents that makes them express and understand different new beauties, and a role that reveals social identity, and a reference for research on a formless visual arts.
