학습관련 인지이론에 기반한 유아용 스마트폰 어플리케이션 분석 (The Analysis of Smart Phone Application for Early Childhood Based on Cognitive Theory)

  • 본 연구는 현재 어플리케이션 마켓 시장에 공급되고 있는 유아용 어플리케이션을 다양한 기준으로 분석하고, 유아들의 발달 특성 및 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 특성이 유아 교육용 어플리케이션에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는지에 대한 가능성을 모색하였다. 이를 위해 아이폰 웹스토어 및 안드로이드 마켓 등의 교육 카테고리에 탑재되어 있는 어플리케이션 중 61개의 유아용 어플리케이션을 선정하였고, 학습 유형별 콘텐츠 유형, 인지부하원리, 멀티미디어 설계원리에 기반을 둔 분석기준을 토대로 유아용 어플리케이션을 분석하였다. 분석결과 좀 더 다양한 유형의 어플리케이션 개발의 필요성이 제기되었으며, 스마트폰의 성능을 최대한 활용할 수 있으며, 멀티미디어 설계원리를 준수하고, 무분별한 멀티미디어 사용을 지양하는 어플리케이션 개발의 필요성이 제기되었다.

  • 2009년 이후부터 현재에 이르기까지 스마트폰 사용자는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 그리고 스마트폰의 애플리케이션을 사용하여 언제 어디서나 원하는 작업을 손쉽게 수행할 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 이러한 장점을 악용한 피싱, 파밍, 스미싱과 같은 신종 금융사기가 나타나게 되었고, 이로 인해 스마트폰을 사용하는 많은 사용자들이 금전적 피해를 입고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 모바일 하이퍼바이저를 이용하여 최근 사회적으로 이슈가 되고 있는 피싱, 파밍, 스미싱 피해를 예방할 수 있는 기술적 방안을 제안한다.

The Biometric based Mobile ID and Its Application to Electronic Voting

  • It requires a lot of costs and manpower to manage an election. The electronic voting scheme can make the election system economic and trustful. The widespread use of smart phones causes mobile voting to be a major issue. The smart phone can be used as a mobile voting platform since it can carry out many services in addition to basic telephone service. To make mobile voting practical and trustful, we analyzed two subjects of study. Firstly, the way to make a biometric based mobile ID, which has legal binding forces. In mobile voting, user identification is accomplished on line since the voter should be able to vote wherever they go. The digital ID conducts a similar role to the need for a resident card. The user's identity is bound to the resident card legally. To bind the user's identity to the smart phone, we use USIM. Biometric recognition is also needed to authenticate the user, since the user cannot prove him or her on line face-to-face. The proposed mobile ID can be reissued by means of introducing a random secret value. Secondly, the mobile voting scheme is proposed where candidates can accept election results without doubt. The goal of an election is to select a leader among two or more candidates. Existing electronic voting schemes mainly focus on the study of ballot verification accomplished by voters. These approaches are not safe against collusion attacks where candidates and the election administration center are able to collude to fabricate election results. Therefore, a new type of voting and counting method is needed where candidates can directly take part in voting and counting stages. The biometric based multi-signature scheme is used to make the undeniable multi-signed ballot. The ballot cannot be verified without the help of all candidates. If candidates accept election results without a doubt, the fairness of the election is satisfied.

스마트폰 유통환경과 소비자 행동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Distribution Environment and Consumer Behavior of Smartphone)

  • Purpose - Most of the amendments to the law on the improvement of the distribution structure of mobile communication terminal equipment, the fully self-sufficient system of terminals, and the separated disclosure system on the terminals are aimed at securing transparency of the distribution structure by eliminating or reducing handset subsidies. This study investigates what items are important for the purchase of mobile phones in various and rapidly changing mobile phone markets from the consumer's point of view and tries to make a strategic suggestion for future mobile distribution strategies. Research design, data, and methodology - The procedure of this study takes place in four steps. In step 1, only the SF type respondents selected for this study were extracted through MBTI analysis. In step 2, they were divided into three hierarchies for the AHP analysis and each element was arranged. In step 3, the AHP analysis was converted to a Fuzzy-AHP number using the trigonometric centroid method. This was to eliminate the ambiguity of the response by converting into a fuzzy number even if data consistency was maintained with CI value below 0.1. In step 4, the number of converted 2-layer and 3-layer was combined to derive the priority when the final handset is selected. Results - First, the highest importance among the four items in the second tier was the terminal function item, followed by brand, price, and design item. Second, in the third tier, the highest importance was level of after-sales service, followed by device price, processing speed, ease of use, usefulness, and rate system. Third, the arithmetic average of the determinant of the fuzzy function showed that processing speed, ease of use and usefulness in the function item, level of after-sales service in the brand item, and device price in the price item were the five most important factors among 16 choice factors. Conclusions - First, there will be a change in the consumption patterns of consumers who have compared distributors and dealers to purchase handsets with more subsidies. Second, it is highly likely that people will purchase new handsets only when they need to change their devices because they can not receive subsidies by switching phone brands any more.

The Effects of Multi-Modality on the Use of Smart Phones

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to examine multi-modal interaction effects of input-mode switching on the use of smart phones. Background: Multi-modal is considered as an efficient alternative for input and output of information in mobile environments. However, there are various limitations in current mobile UI (User Interface) system that overlooks the transition between different modes or the usability of a combination of multi modal uses. Method: A pre-survey determined five representative tasks from smart phone tasks by their functions. The first experiment involved the use of a uni-mode for five single tasks; the second experiment involved the use of a multi-mode for three dual tasks. The dependent variables were user preference and task completion time. The independent variable in the first experiment was the type of modes (i.e., Touch, Pen, or Voice) while the variable in the second experiment was the type of tasks (i.e., internet searching, subway map, memo, gallery, and application store). Results: In the first experiment, there was no difference between the uses of pen and touch devices. However, a specific mode type was preferred depending on the functional characteristics of the tasks. In the second experiment, analysis of results showed that user preference depended on the order and combination of modes. Even with the transition of modes, users preferred the use of multi-modes including voice. Conclusion: The order of combination of modes may affect the usability of multi-modes. Therefore, when designing a multi-modal system, the fact that there are frequent transitions between various mobile contents in different modes should be properly considered. Application: It may be utilized as a user-centered design guideline for mobile multi modal UI system.

서비스경영에 있어 모바일 애플리케이션의 편익이 사용-확산과 이용의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Benefits of Mobile Application Use-Diffusion and Purchase Intention in Service Management)

  • 최근 통신 시장의 가장 큰 이슈는 스마트폰의 폭발적인 보급이다. 서비스경영에 있어 스마트폰이 이렇게 급속도로 보급될 수 있었던 이유는 기존의 공급자가 선정한 기능만을 탑재한 피처폰과는 달리 사용자가 개인의 취향에 맞춤화(customizing)되도록 구성하여 시간과 장소에 구애 받지 않고 즉시 온라인상에 접속 가능하게 되었다는 점이고 또 하나의 이유는 애플리케이션 때문이다. 본 연구는 서비스경영에 있어 모바일 애플리케이션의 각기 다른 편익 유형들이 사용량과 사용다양성에 어떤 영향을 주는지 실증적으로 파악하여, 모바일 애플리케이션의 사용확산 과정에 대해 고찰하며, 또한 편익유형 간에 사용-확산에 미치는 영향력에 차이가 있는지도 알아 보고자 하였다. 본 연구에 대한 분석 결과는 첫째, 편익 유형에 따라 사용-확산에 미치는 영향은 다른 것으로 나타났으며 둘째, 모바일 애플리케이션의 다양한 기능을 사용할수록 사용양은 증가한 것으로 나타났다.

피부관리 애플리케이션 수용에 대한 설문조사 연구 (An Empirical Research on Skin Care Application Adoption)

  • Consumers who use mobile applications for their skin care are increasing due to increasing interest in skin care and smart phone use. A survey was conducted to select popular skin care mobile applications to be installed in the smart phone targeting 1,000 men and women in South Korea who are interested in their skin care. Questioned items included skin care awareness and recognition, skin care type, and the intention of using skin health care mobile services. The respondents thought the best skin as 'Flawless skin (52.3%)'. Also, 'Skin trouble' and 'Skin aging' were their major concerns. 47.1% of the respondents used mobile skin care applications, and 56.6% intended to try new mobile skin care services. The results on interesting field of skin care showed significant difference depending on gender, marital status, and annual average household income. Moreover, the results on effort made for skin care showed significant difference depending on age, gender, and marital status. They wanted the functions such as 'Review on cosmetic products by brand (23.8%)', 'Self skincare method (16.8%)', 'Continuous monitoring service (16.2%)', 'Information on cosmetic products (13.4%)'. The result of this study would be reliable as basic material for skincare mobile service area. Further studies could be focused on developing application in accordance with needs and how it should be applied.

GIS 웹 맵 서비스 구현을 위한 스마트 폰에서의 정보은닉 기법 (Information Hiding Technique in Smart Phone for the Implementation of GIS Web-Map Service)

  • 최근, 모바일 임베디드 기술의 발달로 인하여 일반 사용자가 멀티미디어콘텐츠를 손쉽게 제작하고 이를 GIS(geographic information system) 웹 맵과 연동하여 다양하게 응용 하는 매쉬업 서비스가 웹 2.0 인터넷환경에서 활발히 서비스되고 있다. 그러나 매쉬업 서비스에서 다뤄지는 콘텐츠는 웹 맵과 연동되어 GPS 좌표 정보와 같은 사용자의 공간상 이동 경로를 포함하는 새로운 형태의 콘텐츠인데 반해 해당 콘텐츠에 대한 지적 재산 및 사생활 보호를 위한 방법이 아직까지 존재하지 않는다. 본 논문에서는 GIS 웹 맵 매쉬업 서비스에서 사용자 사생활 보호와 불법 촬영자 추적을 위하여 모바일 카메라 폰을 통해 촬영된 이미지 내에 위치 정보와 사용자 정보를 은닉하는 기법을 제안하고 이를 스마트 폰에 구현하였다. 위치정보에 대하여 좌표 값의 오차 범위를 최소화하기 위해 비트 가중치를 고려하여 색차신호에 은닉하였으며, 부정 촬영자를 추적하기 위해 장비 고유번호, 전화번호, 촬영날짜 정보를 휘도신호에 대해 주파수도메인 상에 은닉하였다. 실험 결과 위치정보 삽입에서 다양한 영상처리에 대해서 신뢰할 수 있는 오차범위를 가짐을 확인할 수 있었고, 포맷변환 시에도 위치정보를 정확히 추출하였다. 휘도신호의 정보은닉 실험 결과 공격에 의해 훼손된 영상에 대하여 유사도 패턴 매칭을 통하여 삽입한 정보를 모두 검출 하였다.

The Improvement of the Data Overlapping Phenomenon with Memory Accessing Mode

  • Mobile phones use the embedded memory in LDI (LCD Driver IC). In memory accessing mode, data overlapping phenomenon can occur. These days, various contents such as DMB, Camera, Game are merged to phone. Accordingly, with more data transmission, there would be more data overlapping phenomenon in memory accessing mode. Human eyes perceive this data overlapping phenomenon as simply horizontal line noise. The cause of the data overlapping phenomenon was analysed in this paper. The data overlapping phenomenon can be changed by the speed of data transmission between the host and LDI. The optimum memory accessing position can be defined. This paper proposes a new algorithm for avoiding data overlapping.

Usability of Wireless Application Protocol Interface in the Philippines

  • The existence of Internet revolutionized the computer and communications world. With the rising demand for accessing the Internet, the mobile technology has incorporated the use of Internet in mobile phones. Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) has combined two of the widest utilized technology today: mobile phones and Internet. This study aims to assess the existing WAP pages offered by the top service providers in the Philippines through usability testing experiments. The paper also aims to identify existing problems in WAP interface by focusing on the errors committed by the users. From the usability study, it was found out that common usability problems are wrong selection of links, unclear grouping of categories, wrong feedback, and redundant links. The type of service provider used is significant in determining the performance of users while experience in accessing WAP is insignificant.
