  • As intensifying competition alters the dynamics of the wireless industry and carriers begin to tap out traditional subscribers-business users and early adopters-wireless operators have come under pressure to begin expanding their target subscriber base. While alternative market segments such as youths, senior citizens, and lower-income or credit-challenged customers often offer less compelling fundamentals (i.e., lower average revenue per user and higher churn rates), carriers, in their race to increase market share, can no longer overlook these potential market segments. In particular, the youth market is a very appealing market segment for carriers to focus on for several reasons. Carriers in many parts of the world have already begun recognizing the compelling advantages of concentrating on youths and teens. This paper will examine the dynamics of the youth/teen population and what attributes make this group an appealing market for wireless carriers. In addition, it will take a look at new emerging technologies that may help carriers attract the youth market especially mobile data, entertainment applications, and wireless messaging. This paper also studies the sensation that carriers in Europe and Japan are achieving with the youth population and suggests how carriers in Korea can emulate that success.

Beyond the existing music market, where music copyright and performance rights were the center of the music business, we are unifying and operating communication channels that connect artists and fans, such as investment products derived from music copyrights. The technology that connects the fandom with additional business digital content has transformed into global platforms such as HYBE Entertainment's and YG Entertainment's Weverse, as well as SM Entertainment's Bubble. In addition, various national support projects to build a 5G MEC (MobileEdge Computing) environment to quickly respond to the rapidly changing 5G industry ecosystem are supporting for the immersive content demonstration, immersive content testing, and technical analysis, we are laying the groundwork to efficiently respond to the ever-expanding metaverse content market. Technology is changing dramatically. Therefore, we would like to study to changes in the music market brought about by technology and suggest strategies for a new era in the music business.

  • Mobile devices such as smart phones have brought big changes to be called as 'mobile big bang' against which we can't go. Mobile banking service and MTS(Mobile Trading System) are freely available at any time, anywhere and we are able to activate communications between financial company staffs out of the office and take care of business works even remotely by using mobile devices. Mobile devices are approaching as 'smart mobile innovation' to improve an enterprise productivity and competitiveness, but threats which engaged in unfair trading behaviors or unwholesome business works in finance companies are increasing and the customer's information can be leaked out by using the nonpublic official information and mobile devices. Therefore, we have to analyze the potential problems and take the necessary countermeasures with preemptive steps to protect the customer's information and improve the financial trading soundness and fairness. In this paper, we would like to suggest countermeasures and threats against using the financial company's mobile devices focusing on the financial investment companies by 'Capital Market and Financial Investment Business Act'.

  • Recently, as the consumer market of the mobile device is explosively getting bigger and bigger, both of the usability and applicability of the mobile device are also growing rapidly. The customers prefer to transfer data between the different mobile devices and download multimedia data via the wireless connection even wherever they are. The trend of mobile devices also shows the tendency of employing the various connectivity technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, W-USB, NFC, and so on in a single mobile device. With this market trend, the importance of the technology associating different devices is getting increased gradually. In this paper, we present how to support the NFC association of the W-USB technology by extending the existing NFC's handover protocol. We also explain the differences between the NFC association and the handover protocol, and propose the method to resolve the differences by extending the handover protocol of the NFC technology. Finally, we describe how to implement the NFC system supporting the W-USB handover protocol.

  • As W-CDMA R5(HSDPA) service became recently commercialized in Korea, there is increasing demand for new pricing methodology for the 3G mobile interconnection at the earliest possible time. However, it is hard to find any case of systematic study on it. In this paper, a synthetic investigation into the three aspects of new mobile telecommunication service - technology, market, and regulation - is conducted to verify the validity of new interconnection pricing methodology. As the findings of this research indicate, given the several technological limits of 3G, speed of mobile telecommunication industry evolution, the problem of verifying ex-ante regulations' validity, and the cases of some foreign countries, it is suggested that immediate revision of interconnection policy is not sensible and that the revision is more desirable to be postponed until the maturity of the 3G market or the adoption of All-IP network.
