Design of a Shared Trusted Platform for Mobile Agents Security (이동 에이전트 보안을 위한 공유 트러스티드 플랫폼 설계)

  • 이동 에이전트는 네트워크 상에서 필요에 따라 자발적으로 이종의 호스트들을 이동하면서 정해진 작업을 실행하고 결과를 제공하는 프로그램인데, 온라인 쇼핑, 실시간 장치제어, 분산처리작업 등에 응용할 수 있는 기술이다. 그러나 이동 에이전트의 보안 문제 등 해결해야 될 여러 가지 문제점들을 안고 있다. 본 논문은 이동 에이전트 보안을 위한 트러스티드 플랫폼 비용, 설치 및 운영의 어려운 점을 해결하기 위하여 트러스티드 플랫폼을 공유하여 서비스 제공자들이 쉽게 이동 에이전트를 위한 신뢰할 수 있는 플랫폼 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • 메시지를 이동 에이전트에 전달하기 위해서는 이동 에이전트의 위치를 추적할 수 있는 기능이 있어야 한다. 이동 에이전트의 위치를 추적할 수 있는 정보를 저장하는 방법에 따라 위치 정보를 갱신하는 비용과 메시지 전송 비용이 정해진다. 본 논문은 이동 에이전트 시스템에서 도메인 기반의 프록시를 이용한 효율적인 위치 정보 추적 방법을 제안하였다. 이동 에이전트들이 이동 시에 무작위로 호스트를 결정하지 않고 같은 도메인에 있는 호스트들을 먼저 방문하는 특징을 이용하여 위치 정보 갱신 비용과 메시지 전송 비용을 최소화 하는 것이다.

  • Recently, researches on various base technologies for wireless Internet services have been conducted. In the WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) Forum, a WAP gateway which does mutual conversion between existent wired Internet protocols and WAP protocols was proposed. In this paper, CSA(Client Side Agent) and SSA(Server Side Agent) for WAP gateway environments are designed and implemented, as a way of improving communication efficiency in such restrictive environments as wireless communications. Located on mobile WAP devices(CSA) and a WAP Gateway(SSA), the agents perform communication efficiency improvement activities such as a packet header reduction mechanism and a data reduction mechanism using data differencing analysis in order to reduce the size of data transmission in wireless communication environments. The Internet phone emulator of Phone.com is used in order to make sure that the implemented agents work correctly, Experimental results show that the implemented agents reduce the size of data transmission significantly.

  • Mobile agent technology has been the subject of much attention in the last few years, mainly due to the proliferation of distributed software technologies combined with the distributed AI research field. In this paper, we present a design of communication networks of agents that cooperate with each other for forwarding messages to the specific mobile agent in order to make the overall system location transparent. In order to make the material accessible to general intelligent system researchers, we present the general ideas abstractly in terms of the graph theory. In particular, a proxy network is defined as a directed acyclic graph satisfying some structural conditions. In turns out that the definition ensures some kind of reliability of the network, in the sense that as long as at most one proxy agent is abnormal, there agent exists a communication path, from every proxy agent to the target agent, without passing through the abnormal proxy. As the basis for the implementation of this scheme, an appropriate initial proxy network is specified and the dynamic nature of the network is represented by a set of graph transformation rules. It is shown that those rules are sound, in the sense that all graphs created from the initial proxy network by zero or more applications of the rules are guaranteed to be proxy networks. Finally, we will discuss some implementation issues.

  • This paper design and implements a synchronized agent mechanism that be able to synchronize SFT (Slow Frequency Transaction) data among e-business processes in distributed environment. This synchronized agent system is adopted to use mobile agent to guarantee the interoperability of the distributed processes and to solve some problems at the client/server architecture and proposes a policy to synchronize data of e-business processes on the any platforms of distributed heterogeneous systems. The proposed synchronization policy is based on the time-stamp transaction with the system priority on the unicasting transportation.

  • In this paper, we present a new method to calculate reinforcement value in QoS routing algorithm targeted for real-time applications based on Ant algorithm to efficiently and effectively reinforce ant-like mobile agents to find the best route toward destination in a network regarding necessary QoS metrics. Simulation results show that the proposed method realizes QoS routing more efficiently and more adaptively than those of the existing method thereby providing better solutions for the best route selection for real-time application that has high priority on delay jitter and bandwidth.

  • Social and psychological experiences in human-agent interactions are becoming more important than the task-oriented efficiency, as the influence of computer agents increases and human-agent interaction develops similarly with interpersonal interaction. Many previous studies aimed to increase social presence in human-agent interaction, in order to derive users' positive psychological experiences, by applying the factors of interpersonal communication to verbal and non-verbal communication of the agents. This study examined the effects of the exchanges of mutual self-disclosure, one of the most important communication acts in interpersonal communication, between users and interface agents. Users' attachment styles towards the perception of social presence, the evaluations toward the agents, user experiences, and the intentions for future interaction were also studied. The mediating role of social presence in dependent variables was, also, examined in this research. The results showed that exchanging self-disclosures with an agent increased the perceptions of social experience, friendly evaluations toward the agent, positive user experience, and the intentions for future interaction. Participants' attachment styles, also, affected the perceptions of the dependent variables. The effects of the exchanges of self-disclosure and participants' attachment styles were mediated by perceived social presence toward the agent. The findings of this study imply that the social and communicational aspects need to be considered in design of the agents seriously. The results also suggest that there may be differences in the psychological effects of agents on users according to the users' personality.

On Motion Planning for Human-Following of Mobile Robot in a Predictable Intelligent Space

  • The robots that will be needed in the near future are human-friendly robots that are able to coexist with humans and support humans effectively. To realize this, humans and robots need to be in close proximity to each other as much as possible. Moreover, it is necessary for their interactions to occur naturally. It is desirable for a robot to carry out human following, as one of the human-affinitive movements. The human-following robot requires several techniques: the recognition of the moving objects, the feature extraction and visual tracking, and the trajectory generation for following a human stably. In this research, a predictable intelligent space is used in order to achieve these goals. An intelligent space is a 3-D environment in which many sensors and intelligent devices are distributed. Mobile robots exist in this space as physical agents providing humans with services. A mobile robot is controlled to follow a walking human using distributed intelligent sensors as stably and precisely as possible. The moving objects is assumed to be a point-object and projected onto an image plane to form a geometrical constraint equation that provides position data of the object based on the kinematics of the intelligent space. Uncertainties in the position estimation caused by the point-object assumption are compensated using the Kalman filter. To generate the shortest time trajectory to follow the walking human, the linear and angular velocities are estimated and utilized. The computer simulation and experimental results of estimating and following of the walking human with the mobile robot are presented.
