박용디젤기관의 착화실패가 추진축계종진동에 미치는 영향에 관한 이론적 연구 (A theoretical investigation of mis-firing effects on the crankshaft axial vibration of diesel engine)

  • Since the oil shocks of 1970s, the quality of the fuel oil for marine diesel engines has become more degarded than ever. When the poorer quality fuel is burned, carbon residues of the fuel oil cause blockage of the fuel injection valve nozzle and troubles of fuel injection system. The mis-firing of engine occurs due to the decrease of fuel quantity injected, the decrease of compression pressure in the slow speed range, the increase of fuel leaked and the high ignition temperature of degraded fuel etc. This paper is to investigate theoretically the effects of mis-firing on the crankshaft axial vibration of diesel engine. The cylinder pressure in operation is calculated by the computer aided simulation of closed cycle for a large two-stroke diesel engine and also the exciting force of axial vibration and the resonance amplitudes are calculated. And then, the condition of normal state, misfiring and one-cylinder cut-off operation are analyzed. The results of calculations show good agreements with those of the actual measurements.

  • Stable reset and address discharge are very important when they show apparent display. But the shape of reset and address discharge and wall-charge distribution change, according to the variation on temperature. Namely, it is very difficult to show exact picture. This study represents how Dynamic Margin is height and dielectric thickness. When barrier rib height is $100{\mu}m$ and dielectirc thickness is $40{\mu}m$, it is responded the most sensitively by decreasing temperature.

  • ADS(Address Display Period Separation) driving method has been considered to be the most appropriate driving technique for AC PDP. ADS driving method is composed of reset, address, sustain and erase period. Therefore, a long time should be allocated to an address period, which results in a reduction of brightness. To realize a high luminance and high picture quality, it is necessary to high speed addressing. However, address discharge time lag increases as the temperature decreases, which can cause the misfiring and low picture quality In this paper, the electric field effect and priming particle effect are investigated in order to reduce the address discharge time lag at low temperature. Address discharge time lag was reduced effectively when the priming particles are provided.

  • The diagnosis of power converter using auxiliary circuit connected to output terminal is proposed and verified by experimental results in this paper. On contrary to conventional diagnosis method, the proposed monitoring technique is possible to measure the state of power converter and unbalanced output caused by a misfiring of switch and unusual control signal. Conventional method gives a monitoring approaches for only a unusual operation of power converter. In this paper, three signals with auxiliary circuit are obtained and analyzed to see the state of electrolytic capacitor, power semiconductor switches and output voltage balance. 2kVA inverter is made and fisted to verify the proposed circuit.

  • To understand the signal fluctuation of a wide-range oxygen sensor installed at the exhaust confluence point, when a misfiring is triggered in a cylinder, the steady state and the transient response characteristics of the sensor to the flow of the misfired gas were investigated quantitatively. It was recognized that the steady state output voltage of the sensor increased higher when it contacted the misfired gas even though the fueling condition was the same as the normal combustion case and this characteristic enabled the application of the wide-range oxygen sensor for the misfire detection. The transient response was compared at different engine speeds and it was found that the response speed increased with the engine speed. The signal fluctuation was also estimated quantitatively, using these steady state and transient response of the sensor, and the estimated signal showed satisfactory correlation with the measurements.

  • The residual gas in an spark-ignition engine is one of important factors on emissions and performance such as combustion stability. With high residual gas fractions, flame speed and maximum combustion temperature are decreased and these are deeply related with combustion stability especially at idle and NOx emission at relatively high engine load. Therefore, there is a need to characterize the residual gas fraction as a function of the engine operating load. Therefore, there is a need to characterize the residual gas fraction as a function of the engine operating parameters. In the present study, the quantitative measurement technique of residual gas fraction was studied by using Fast Response Flame Ionization Detector(FRFID). The measuring technique and model for estimation of residual gas fraction were reported in this paper. By the assuming that the raw signal from FRFID saturates with the same slope for firing and misfiring cycle, in-cylinder hydrocarbon(HC) concentration can be estimated. Residual gas fraction can be obtained from the in-cylinder HC concentration measured at firing and motoring condition. The developed measurement and calibration procedure were applied to the limited engine operating and design condition such as intake manifold pressure and valve overlap. The results show relevant trends by comparing those from previous studies.

엔진의 착화실패가 탄성지지계의 동적거동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Engine's Misfiring Condition on the Dynamic Behaviour of Resilient Mounting Systems)

  • There is a tendency of using the resilient mounting system to control the structure born noise transimitted from a engine of which weight is comparatively light and of which speed is comparatively high. According to recent reports, the resilient mounting system is applied to control the vibration of a engine running up to 300 - 400 R.P.M.. Furthermore, the resilient system is also used to the ships such as marine exploring ships, fishing boats, and military vessels. It is not desirous to apply the results for the resilient mounting systems of automobile engines to the controls of the vibrations of marine engines. Marine engines are worked under the idle speed in port and are operated up to the maximum contineous revolution at sea(running up condition). And marine engines are usually worked in inevitable conditions such as a misfire and a cut-off cylinder operating condition. Concerning the above running conditions, a resilient mounting system should be designed in the case of marine engines. In this paper, we studied the effect of engine's misfire on the resilient mounting systems. And the influences of design parameters, such as dynamic characteristics and fitting angles of resilient rubber mountings, were also investigated respectively on the single and double resilient mounting systems.

  • Being carried out a number of studies for the resilient mounting system of automobile engine than that of the studies for marine engines, many research results for the case of the resilient mounting system of the automobile engine have applied in the analysis for the case of marine engine. However, the size and the power of automobile engines are not only relatively small but also their operating conditions are quite different form those of marine engines. For the analysis of the automobile engine Wavelet shrinkage, misfire condition and unload condition have not been considered. Accordingly , it is not desirable to apply the results obtained form the case of automobile engines to the case of marine engines. In this study , exciting and damping forces working on the marine engine are formulated mathematically in order to apply to the design of a resilient mounting system of engine effectively. futhermore, some mathematical formulation for the analysis of the transmissibility of multi-body system are proposed. A new computer program which is able to calculate the free vibration, the transmissibility and the forced vibration of a resilient mounting system has been developed, As an application of this developed computer program, the dynamic behavior of resilient system with an actual rubber spring for the case of 6-degree-of-freedom system and 36-degree-of-freedom system are evaluated quantitatively.

  • Since the oil shock of 1970's there was a strong upward tendency for the use of the high viscosity and poorer quality fuels. Therefore the misfiring engine occurs due to the decrease of quantity injected for lean burn and emission control in CI diesel engine. In this study, it is designed and used the test bed which is installed with turbocharger and intercooler. In addition to equipped using CRDI by controlling injection timing with mapping modulator, it has been tested and analyzed the engine performance, combustion characteristics, and emission as operating parameters.

  • AC PDP의 구동파형은 Reset 구간에서 명암비를 높이고 화질향상을 위해서 전압파형을 서서히 증가시키고 또 감소시키는데, 이 전압파형의 기울기와 크기가 온도와 더불어서 PDP의 화질과 관련이 있다. 그래서 본 논문에서는 Reset 구간에서 Y 전극에 인가하는 램프파형의 setup 및 setdown 구간에서의 기울기와 -Vy전압을 온도에 따라서 가변함으로써, 주위의 온도가 상온에서 저온이나 고온으로 변화하여도 PDP의 화질이 영향을 받지 않고 최상으로 유지하게 하는 온도 적응형 RESET 파형 발생회로를 제안하였다.
