  • 인접면의 우식증으로 인해 인접면의 공간 소실과 후방치아의 근심 경사가 발생한 본 증례에서 치아의 보철 수복 전 교정용 링의 삽입과 임시 전장관의 수정을 통해 치간 공간의 획득과 치축의 개선을 시행할 수 있었다.

  • Stability analysis of nonlinear systems is mostly based on the Lyapunov stability theory. The well-known Lyapunov function method provides precise and rigorous theoretical backgrounds. However, the conventional approach to direct stability analysis has been performed without taking account of damping effects, which is pointed as a minor but crucial drawback. For accurate stability analysis of nonlinear systems, it is required to take the damping effects into account. This paper presents a new method to derive a group of Lyapunov functions to reflect the damping effects by considering the integral relationships of the system governing equations. A systematical approach is developed to convert a part of damping loss into some appropriate system energy terms. Examples show that the proposed method remarkably improves the estimation of the region of attraction compared considering damping effects. The proposed method can be utilized as a useful tol to determine the region of attraction.

Preparation and Characterization of LiMn₂O₄ Powder by Combustion of Poly(ethylene glycol)-Metal Nitrate Precursor

  • $LiMn_2O_4$ powders were prepared by burning and subsequent calcination of PEG-metal nitrate precursor. After the burning stage of the precursor, some minor phases such as $Mn_2O_3$ (or $Mn_3O_4$), MnO, and carbonate were formed and single phases of $LiMn_2O_4$ were obtained by further calcinations above 400 ℃. From thermal analysis of the precursor, a violent thermal decomposition, which was indicated by a drastic weight loss accompanied by a sharp and strong exothermic peak, was observed and probably caused by an oxidation-reduction reaction between oxidizer and fuel. The formation of the minor phases could be explained in terms of the burning behavior of the precursor by employing valence concepts of propellant chemistry. The calcined powders were composed of submicron-sized but highly agglomerated particles and showed very broad particle size distribution.

  • An improved performance characteristics analysis model of a regenerative pump is proposed in the present paper. For its low characteristic speed, a regenerative pump generates high head with low flow rate. However, the efficiency is fairly low due to the skin friction between impeller and casing. Also, the complexity of its internal flow pattern makes prediction of performance characteristics difficult. In the present research, a one-dimensional analysis model was improved with consideration of disc friction loss, minor loss, and modified flow length, and the result was proven to be close in range with the results from experiments.

  • In the design and analysis of electric machines the precise calculation of iron loss has incredible significance. It is tough to foresee iron losses precisely in machines due to distribution of non sinusoidal flux density. It is necessary to approximate the iron losses for the precise computation of efficiency. This paper presents a novel approach for the prediction of iron losses of the brushless dc (BLDC) motors by considering the effects of minor hysteresis loops in the simplified model. The novel iron loss model results are compared with the simplified model and with finite element method (FEM).

인접 교류전류가 Bi-2223테이프의 통전손실에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Neighboring Tape′s AC Currents on Transport Current Loss of a Bi-2223 Tape)

  • Bi-2223 tapes have been developed for low-field power applications at liquid nitrogen temperature. When the Bi-2223 tapes are used in an application such as a power transmission cable or a power transformer, they are supplied with an AC transport current simultaneously. AC loss taking into account such real applications is a crucial issue for power applications fo the Bi-2223 tapes to be feasible. In this paper, the transport losses for different AC current levels and arrangements of the neighboring tapes have been measured in a 1./5 m long Bi-2223 tape. The significant increase of the transport losses due to neighboring tape's AC currents is observed. An increase of the transport losses caused by a decrease of the Bi-2223 tape's critical current is a minor effect. The measured trasprot losses could not be explained by a dynamic resistance loss based on DC voltage-current characteristics in combination with the neighboring tape's AC currents.The trasport losses do not depend on the frequency of the neighboring tape's AC currents but is arrangements in the range of small current especially.

A Trade-Off between the Efficiency, Ripple and Volume of a DC-DC Converter

  • In space qualified DC-DC converters, optimization of the following electrical characteristics is of greater interest in comparison with other specifications; power loss/efficiency, output voltage ripple and volume/weight. The main goal of this paper is to present an appropriate solution for optimizing the above mentioned characteristics. For this purpose, a comprehensive power loss model of a DC-DC converter is fully developed. Proper models are also demonstrated for assessment of the output voltage ripple and the utilized transformer volume as the bulkiest component in a DC-DC converter. In order to provide a test bed for evaluation of the proposed models, a 50W push-pull DC-DC converter is designed and implemented. Finally, a novel cost function with three assigned weight functions is proposed in order to have a trade-off among the power loss, the output voltage ripple and the utilized transformer volume of the converter. The cost function is optimized for applications in which volume has the highest priority in comparison with power loss and ripple. The optimization results show that the transformer volume can be decreased by up to 51% and this result is verified by experimental results. The developed models and algorithms in this paper can be used for other DC-DC converter topologies with some minor modifications.

  • Laminar lifted propane coflow-jet flames diluted with nitrogen were experimentally investigated to determine heat-loss-related self-excitation regimes in the flame stability map and elucidate the individual flame characteristics. There exists a critical lift-off height over which flame-stabilizing effect becomes minor, thereby causing a normal heat-loss-induced self-excitation with O(0.01 Hz). Air-coflowing can suppress the normal heat-loss-induced self-excitation through increase of a Peclet number; meanwhile it can enhance the normal heat-lossinduced self-excitation through reducing fuel concentration gradient and thereby decreasing the reaction rate of trailing diffusion flame. Below the critical lift-off height. the effect of flame stabilization is superior, leading to a coflow-modulated heat-loss-induced self-excitation with O(0.001 Hz). Over the critical lift-off height, the effect of reducing fuel concentration gradient is pronounced, so that the normal heat-loss-induced self-excitation is restored. A newly found prompt self-excitation, observed prior to a heat-loss-induced flame blowout, is discussed. Heat-loss-related self-excitations, obtained laminar lifted propane coflow-jet flames diluted with nitrogen, were characterized by the functional dependency of Strouhal number on related parameters. The critical lift-off height was also reasonably characterized by Peclet number and fuel mole fraction.

한방 다이어트 식품 HBM(Healthy Body Maker)의 체중감소 및 혈청 콜레스테롤 저하 효과 (The Effect of HBM(Healthy Body Maker) on the Body Weight Loss and Serum Cholesterol Level in Rats)

  • This study was performed to investigate the effects of HBM(Healthy Body Maker) on the weight loss and serum cholesterol level of rats. Twenty male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 200$\pm$5g were grouped into 2. Rats were raised for 6 weeks with diet containing 0% and 5% of HBM. 1. There were no clinical signs for all the experimental period(6 weeks) in 0% and 5% groups. 2. At 3 and 6 weeks. body weight of 5% HBM group was significantly lower than that of control group. respectively(p<0.05, p<0.01). 3. At 4 weeks. the level of MCHC of 5% HBM group was significantly higher than that of control group(p<0.01) And at 6 weeks the level of RBC and Hct of 5% HBM group were significantly higher than those of control group(p<0.05) 4. At 6 weeks. the level of serum cholesterol of 5% HBM group was significantly lower than that of control group. 5. Absolute liver weight of 5% HBM group was significantly lower than that of control group(p<0.05). 6. Minor subaceous sickness of liver cell in the control group appeared but no symptom of liver cell in 5% HBM group. It is concluded that HBM was a safe and effective diet food which aided in inducing weight loss in rat without any observed harmful clinical side effects.

비뉴우튼유체의 관이음음 유동저항에 관한 연구 (A study on the flow resistance in the various fittings for non-newtonian fluid)

  • An experomental study on drg reduction in the rough tubes is presunted using the drrective drag reducing proymer solutions. The friction factors of the rough tubes follow the maximum drag reduction asymptote for the lower Reynolds numbers in the turbulent flow. However, as the Reynols number is increased the rougher tube results deviate from the maximum drag rduction asymptote sooner than the less rough tube results. There appears a systematic deviation from the maximum drag reduction asymptote depending on the relative roughness just as friction factors for the Newtonian hluid inthe rough tubes exhibit in the turbulent region. The minor loss results inthe various fittings such as elbows, tees, and gate valves are presunted The fittings show higher values of the loss coefficient in the drag reducing polymer solutions than in the Newtonian fluid, which is quite contrary to the drag reduction phenomenon in the straight tubes. The eqivalent length of the fittings for the drag reducing polymer solutions is many times longer than that for Newtonian fluids due to the increase of the loss coefficient and the decrease of the friction factor. It is speculated that the solid-like behavior of the polymer solutions in the abruptly changing folw passage plays a significant role in increasing the loss coefficient.
