  • In this work, we investigated the effect of the oxidation temperature on the unipolar and bipolar resistance switching behaviors of the oxidized TiO-x films. TiOx films on Pt electrodes were fabricated by the oxidation of Ti films at $550^{\circ}C$ for 1 to 3 hours. The unipolar and bipolar resistance switching properties were investigated with the oxidation temperature and time. Also, the crystal structure and the physical properties such as chemical bonding states of TiOx layers were characterized in addition to the resistance switching characteristics. The resistance switching behaviors of TiOx films oxidized at above $450^{\circ}C$ and below $650^{\circ}C$ was shown. So, we investigated that the resistance switching behaviors of TiOx films oxidized at $550^{\circ}C$ with the oxidation time from 1 to 3 hour. The memory windows of unipolar switching in the oxidized TiOx films were reduced with increasing the oxidation time, but those of the bipolar switching were slightly enlarged. The enlargement of rutile TiO2 peak with increasing the oxidation time and temperature was studied by X-ray diffraction. An increase of non-lattice oxygen and Ti3+ in the TiOx films with the oxidation times was investigated by X-ray photoemission spectroscopy. It was expected that the uipolar and bipolar resistive switching of the oxidized TiOx film was strongly related with the migration of non-lattice oxygen anions and schottky barrier height, respectively.

  • Tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) is a multidomain serine protease containing two kringle domains, TK1-2. Previously, Pichia-derived recombinant human TK1-2 has been reported as an angiogenesis inhibitor although t-PA plays an important role in endothelial and tumor cell invasion. In this work, in order to improve in vivo efficacy of TK1-2 through elimination of immune reactivity, we mutated wild type TK1-2 into non-glycosylated form (NE-TK1-2) and examined whether it retains anti-angiogenic activity. The plasmid expressing NE-TK1-2 was constructed by replacing $Asn^{l17}\;and\;Asn^{184}$ with glutamic acid residues. After expression in Pichia pastoris, the secreted protein was purified from the culture broth using S-sepharose and UNO S1-FPLC column. The mass spectrum of NE-TK1-2 showed closely neighboring two peaks, 19631.87 and 19,835.44 Da, and it migrated as one band in SDS-PAGE. The patterns of CD-spectra of these two proteins were almost identical. Functionally, purified NE-TK1-2 was shown to inhibit endothelial cell migration in response to bFGF stimulation at the almost same level as wild type TK1-2. Therefore, the results suggest that non-glycosylated NETK1-2 can be developed as an effective anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor agent devoid of immune reactivity.

  • When some sensors under Wireless Sensor Networks fail or become energy-exhausted, redundant mobile sensors might be moved to recover the sensing holes. Within rugged terrain where wheeled sensors are unsuitable, other type of mobile sensors, such as hopping sensors, are needed. In this paper, we address the problem of relocating hopping sensors to the detected sensing holes. Recent study for this work considered the relocation using the shortest path between clusters; however, the shortest path might be used repeatedly and create other sensing holes. In order to overcome the mentioned problem, we propose relocation schemes using the most disjointed paths or multi-paths. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes guarantee more balanced migration distributions of efficient sensors and higher movement success ratios of required sensors than those of the shortest path-based scheme.

  • Quality of Service (QoS) awareness is recognized as a key point for the success of Internet of Things (IOT).Realizing the full potential of the Internet of Things requires, a real-time task scheduling algorithm must be designed to meet the QoS need. In order to schedule tasks with diverse QoS requirements in cloud environment efficiently, we propose a task scheduling strategy based on dynamic priority and load balancing (DPLB) in this paper. The dynamic priority consisted of task value density and the urgency of the task execution, the priority is increased over time to insure that each task can be implemented in time. The scheduling decision variable is composed of time attractiveness considered earliest completion time (ECT) and load brightness considered load status information which by obtain from each virtual machine by topic-based publish/subscribe mechanism. Then sorting tasks by priority and first schedule the task with highest priority to the virtual machine in feasible VMs group which satisfy the QoS requirements of task with maximal. Finally, after this patch tasks are scheduled over, the task migration manager will start work to reduce the load balancing degree. The experimental results show that, compared with the Min-Min, Max-Min, WRR, GAs, and HBB-LB algorithm, the DPLB is more effective, it reduces the Makespan, balances the load of VMs, augments the success completed ratio of tasks before deadline and raises the profit of cloud service per second.

  • The influence of titania nanorods with an average diameter of 10 nm and an average length of 30 nm on the electrohydrodynamic instability of block copolymer (polystyrene-b-poly(2-vinylpyridine)) thin film was investigated in this article. The presence of titania nanorods increased the dielectric constant of the film, which resulted in a systematic reduction in the wavelength of the surface instability. Cross-sectional transmission electron microscopy analysis indicated that the migration/aggregation of titania nanorods did not occur as a result of the applied electric field. This work can provide a simple route to the pattern formation using electrohydrodynamic instability with an aid of nanoparticles.

  • The purpose of this study is to shed light on the characteristics of the social relations of migrant workers in the Ansan area and the factors for the construction of those characteristics. The social relations of migrant workers in the Ansan area are affected by the Korean government's policy of EPS, a short-term rotation policy and its ban on the settlement of migrant workers. These workers are likely to form a temporary and bounded social relationship. The bounded social relationship of migrant workers to society is one of the major factors that put them in social poverty. Ethnic communities, support organizations for migrant workers, and local government agencies have assumed the task of helping build the network among migrant workers of various ethnic backgrounds as well as aiding their participation in local social activities. The status of a temporary resident is the prime reason for spatial exclusion and social poverty among migrant workers. To prevent the exacerbation of these phenomena, this study suggests that the government reconsider its short-term work permit policy for less skilled workers.

  • Background: Cell behavior is the key to tissue regeneration. Given the fact that most of the cells used in tissue engineering are anchorage-dependent, their behavior including adhesion, growth, migration, matrix synthesis, and differentiation is related to the design of the scaffolds. Thus, characterization of the scaffolds is highly required. Micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) provides a powerful platform to analyze, visualize, and explore any portion of interest in the scaffold in a 3D fashion without cutting or destroying it with the benefit of almost no sample preparation need. Main body: This review highlights the relationship between the scaffold microstructure and cell behavior, and provides the basics of the micro-CT method. In this work, we also analyzed the original papers that were published in 2016 through a systematic search to address the need for specific improvements in the methods section of the papers including the amount of provided information from the obtained results. Conclusion: Micro-CT offers a unique microstructural analysis of biomaterials, notwithstanding the associated challenges and limitations. Future studies that will include micro-CT characterization of scaffolds should report the important details of the method, and the derived quantitative and qualitative information can be maximized.

  • In this study, as examples of domestic libraries currently using the cloud-based library system, the main characteristics and issues that appeared in the experience of use divided into the processes of introduction, conversion, and operation of each system were investigated, and the results are as follows. First, it is said that new systems were introduced as alternatives to problems caused by the operation of the existing system, and the current products were selected because they were cost-effective. Second, the main issues in the conversion process were data migration work, implementation of existing service functions, and linking problems of internal and external systems in the library. Third, the main advantages identified in the operation process were cost reduction, simple installation and automatic management and maintenance, and convenient use in mobile devices. The main drawbacks were the difficulty of customizing that reflects the characteristics of the library, and the need for stability of the network. The disappeared role of the information technology librarian is the regular system inspection and maintenance support, and various new roles have been suggested. The responses of librarians and users to the new system were generally satisfied rather than dissatisfied.

  • Objectives : Reactive oxygen species (ROS) have been associated with pathogenic processes including carcinogenesis through direct effect on DNA directly and by acting as a tumor promoter. Therefore, it has been regarded that ROS may be a major target for cancer prevention. The root of Paeonia lactiflora pall (PL), a traditional Chinese herb, has been a component of effective prescriptions for treatment of liver disease. Also, there are some reports about the antioxidant activities of the extracts from PL. However, little has been known about the effects of PL against oxidative damage. This work aimed to elucidate the anti-oxidant effects of Paeonia lactiflora pall (PL) in the non-cellular system and cellular system. Methods : Antioxidant activities of PL were evaluated by hydroxyl radical scavenging assay and $Fe^{2+}$ chelating assay. Anti-oxidative effect of PL was evaluated by ${\varphi}X$-174 RF I plasmid DNA cleavage assay in non-cellular system. In addition, DNA migration assay, expression level of phospho-H2AX, MTT assay and lipid peroxidation assay were performed for evaluate the anti-oxidative effect of PL in cellular system. Results : PL had a dose-dependent hydroxyl radical scavenging and $Fe^{2+}$ chelating capacity. In addition, PL inhibited oxidative DNA and cell damage induced by hydroxyl radical in non-cellular system and cellular system. Conclusion : Taken together, P. lactiflora pall may be possible for the application to a potential drug for treating the oxidative diseases such as cancer.
